For her betrayal, he was determined to break her. He never suspected she’d end up breaking him.
Lucas Bayne has kept Dreya Odili as his prisoner for a hundred years. She committed a crime he’s unable to forgive. If she’d been anyone else, her punishment would’ve been death. But she’s his mate. And though she betrayed him, he still loves her more than life itself. Loving her has brought him nothing but pain. He has to resist her. And for a hundred years, he does. Until the unthinkable happens. She escapes from her cell. He has no choice but to hunt her down. Where she goes, he will follow. When he finds her, he also finds the truth. Now he regrets everything he’s done over the last hundred years. Neither a simple apology nor all the money in the world can make up for his sins against her. However, he’s willing to do whatever it takes to make her love him again. He’s willing to grant all of her wishes if she’ll just trust him again. But his mate has never been the forgiving type and she only has one wish. She wishes for his death. And she wants to be the one who kills him.
Hi, my name is Siren Allen. I’m a writer and lover of all things erotic and romantic. I reside in southern Mississippi where I write steamy romances that are guaranteed to make you blush. When I’m not listening to the characters in my head and jotting down their adventures, I am busy working as a Clinical Laboratory Technician.
I love to travel, preferably with my husband, so he can do all of the driving. I enjoy time with my family, who are just as silly as I am. I have no children…yet, wish me luck! My hobbies are reading, writing and shopping, though I hate trying on clothing. If I wasn’t a writer or a Laboratory Professional, I would probably be a Secret Agent. But that’s the beauty of being a writer; you can create your own world and be whoever you want to be. In my imaginary world, I am Queen and my siblings are my minions.
This book was Damn good. I mean really good. I started reading before I had to go to work and picked right back up when I got home. He'll I could read another story about this couple.
LUCAS!!! This book was so good. It truly delves into the way human beings react to each other. Even though this is a paranormal book about shifters and other creatures, it hit home about how quick we are to react to something that someone tells us, instead of investigating for ourselves. Lucas should have trusted his mate, but instead of even asking her what happened with his parents, he believed what he thought he saw, fueled by a witch who he really didn’t know.
Why do we believe the worst in someone we love instead of believing their is a good explanation for what we think happened? If he would have just listened to her, he could have avoided 100 years of pain and suffering.
I love the world the author painted for us. The creatures came alive and gave me the chills. I wanted a magic wand of my own to zap people with. But most of all I wanted to hang with the sisters and watch as they cut up. I enjoyed their dynamic.
The underlying live story was hidden behind revenge and hurt. I am so glad for forgiveness and a happily ever after!
This story captured my attention from the very beginning and it kept me in its thrall until the early hours of the morning. Wow what a read! The characters were strong, especially Dreya whose forgiveness is what Lucas Bayne, her mate tries to obtain. This series is set around the distorted curse of a vengeful goddess and of the four Bayne brothers linked to the curse and how love will bring about the ruination of them. But the curse is not fully understood. Dreya was just amazing and her love for Lucas was indisput able. His betrayal of her trust is what she finds difficult to forgive. Lucas is truly mortified that what he believed was a total lie. This is a stunning story of love and forgiveness set in a mythical realm where witches, vampires, phantom werewolves and otherworldly creatures live side by side. Great read ,want to find out what happens with Arya and Lykaen
This is my second read by Siren and I’m bloody shocked. This book was amazing, the story telling was me hooked. I completely this book in one sitting. It was so descriptive that it my mind jumped into Angel the tv show - a realm for different types of creatures. Dreya was such a broken firecracker and I loved it. The many ways she told Lucas to stfu had me dying. Lucas was very sexy along w all of brothers. The ending of the book honestly had my mouth wide open bc I couldn’t believe it ended the way it did.
I have had this book in my library for a couple of years and am just now reading it. Once I started, I could not put it down! What Dreya went through was horrendous, and it was compounded because it was her love, Lucas that put her there! My heart went out to them both, but I am curious to know what the heck is going on with his parents, and I can't wait to read about Arya and Lyken! I know it has been a few years since this book was published, but Ms. Allen, please don't make us wait too much longer for Lucas' brothers stories!
I enjoyed this and can’t wait for the next book!!! This was a great story I saw a few minor typos and name mix ups but nothing that takes away from the story! I want to know more about the coven and what’s going on. I have sooo many questions yet this did end in a HEA in a way so if that’s a concern don’t let that detract from reading. Did I mention that this way good. BUY THE BOOK!!!
Books like this is why I love paranormal romance. This books has that and more. There is mystery, intrigue, danger, deception. love and soul snatchers :). Lucas and Dreya are a powerful couple and they deserved this story. This read has a great plot, great character interaction and it is well written. I cannot wait to read more from Siren Allen regarding the Bayne brothers and the Immortal Haven Series.
This book had many different creatures including shifters, soul snatchers, vampires, witches, and half and halves ( my word for it). Lucas Bayne was tricked by witches, betrayed his true mate, and kept his love away from her. Dreya, like Lucas was tricked, but suffered a century. This story of intrigue, dishonesty, disloyalty, and treachery was exciting and thrilling. I can't wait for Lyken and Arya's story.
'Lucas' centered around the fractured relationship between a vampire/wolf shifter hybrid doctor - Lucas Bane - and his soul-snatching wife, Dreya Odili. What could have been a great story (for me) was bogged down with editing issues and too many last minute deus ex machina contrivances. I didn't care for the writing style either, but I know that many readers like and will like this book.
In good conscience, I can't rate this above two stars.
This is my first time reading a book by this author it was a good read. I can't wait to find out where are Lucas parents, why are the brothers cursed where is Jenna and why does the Goddess of vengeance hate the Baynes
I am so glad I took a chance and read this. It was fated mates but backwards and I loved it. Love, Vengeance, Redemption, and some steamy loving. What else could you ask for. Looking forward to the next book!
I remember Lucas and Dreya's story from a compilation book awhile back. It has been updated and I like the changes. Can't wait for the other brothers stories!
This author is new for me but she won't be any more I'm so glad I found her I love paranormal romance and this was different but great I definitely recommend!!
I needed more depth to this story. But, once I got into reading it I pulled an all nighter. Just finished at 6:30am. Yep...the book got to me good. Lol
Fated mates or not, if my man locked me up in a dungeon/prison for 100 year, we can’t come back from that.
That’s not to say I didn’t enjoy the book because if was fucking good.
Lucas was way too quick to believe others without investigating and not believe his mate. It really goes to show how quick ppl are to believe a lie before searching for the truth. The author did such a good job of world building and understanding complex emotions, that for me as a reader, I was kind of still rooting for them.
The fact that he hadn’t had sex with anyone in all those years really helped me like Lucas. If I had found out that he fucked Jenna, I would have thrown the whole book away. I do think forgiving him after only 2 months was too soon. Buddy needed to suffer for a minimum of 10 years. That’s how long he went without checking on her and she suffered at the hands of his guards because of that. He needed to suffer too.
I don’t know if the author did that so she could include at least one spicy scene, but I wouldn’t had minded. We could have just had a flash back instead.
This was written in 2020 and it’s now 2024 and I don’t see anything about the next book, so I have no faith that we will get one and that fucking sucks ass because the story is not finished.
