He made me bow. He made me break. Now we’ve reached the final showdown. The gates of Hell are crumbling as two monsters fight for the throne. Their prize? My soul— or so they think. I’ve played Bennett’s game for too long and in exchange for what I want, he requires me to follow the third rule. And what I want is Wilson Moreno dead by my hand. Bennett says you can’t win playing games against the devil, but he’s made me into a bigger monster than he is. When I win against him, I’ll have some rules of my own. He will bow. He will break. He will be destroyed.

I was kinda disappointed with the last book. 😳 I felt like Bennett would never love Aurora as much as he loved Stephanie. It seemed like Aurora was always going to be his second choice. I was hoping he would beg more for her forgiveness and really show her that although he still had a place in his heart for Stephanie, it was nothing compared to the love he had experienced with Aurora ("his equal" ) by his side. Even towards the end when Aurora went back to her apartment and saw pictures of her and fiancee Heath, she said the love she felt for Heath was flat compared to how she felt for Bennett. Then Bennett comes back to find her and that's when I was hoping for a big heartfelt moment where Bennett professes his undying love. 😯 And all we got was him saying how he felt as empty as he did when Stephanie was gone and he wanted to show her how he cared about her and the baby. WTF!! Really!! So let's AGAIN compare her to Stephanie and you just want to show her how much you care NOT love her. Thank goodness that Stephanie was dead otherwise Aurora would would've just been a side piece that he would have disregarded in seconds if he had a choice between the two. Not a HEA! More like here is a bag of lemons, now go make some lemonade and learn to like it. 😒 Please tell me there is a follow up with only Bennett's pov. At least then maybe I can be convinced if the asshat truly loved Aurora for her not just for the connection she had to Stephanie!!..

Couldn’t read more ....what message writer is giving here .... Murder her parents, killed her boyfriend ,raped her friend all in front of her .. and don’t even want to mention the abuse She went through from him after all this she is in love and got feelings.. hahaha And the constant comparison with his first love...mid read couldn’t continue anymore...
"The woman that emerged was dark, dangerous, and out for blood. Had to admit it was pretty fucking sexy."
Oh man Bennett you created a monster, she bowed, she broke, but she will not obey! And she's taking you down 😈
So I loved monster Bennett, evil Bennett and devil Bennett, but 'wooing' Bennett was just on a whole other level 🔥🔥🔥 he's still our bad boy Bennett though 🖤
"He could pretend to be good all he wanted but we both knew the truth"
I think one of my favourite scenes from across the whole series is Bennett asking the gang for advice on how to 'woo' Aurora 🤦🤣 never thought I'd see the day that would happen!
If you think this story has a happy ending you haven't been paying attention 😏
"Bad guys didn’t get happy endings."
Or do they?? Guess you'll have to read to find out! 😜
It takes an amazing author to be able to take a monster like Bennett redeemable after he's done such terrible things to Aurora but you can't help to fall in love with him after this book, Ember truly makes Bennett pull on your heartstrings and that's what makes her such a talented writer. Don't get me wrong though, he certainly reaps what he sows in this book 😈🖤
This series was fascinating reading, but way out of my comfort zone at times. I flew through the trilogy and prequel but I admit I had to put it down frequently. It dealt with human trafficking which was the business of this mafia family. Nothing was sugar coated so if you have any triggers stay away. This is the darkest series I’ve ever read. I am glad I read it tho. Great storytelling and I liked the writing style. I will read more by this author.
I will say I was a bit disappointed with this book. It was very anticlimactic and tame compared to the other books in the series. I was hoping for more darkness and struggle between them. The conflict with Wilson was also very anticlimactic. She forgave Bennett way too easily and he didn’t seem fully invested in her. I didn’t like that he constantly compared her to Stephanie, even in the end.
What an explosive ending to this trilogy!! I am having a hard time putting into words just what I want this review to say. I feel no matter what I say I will not be giving Ember the credit she deserves. We all know the major a$$hole Bennett can be. We all know his brand of psycho might be just a little crazy, but yet we are all drooling over his psychotic a$$. I said it before and I will say it again Bennett is like an onion, as in we needed to peel each layer back to get to see the "human" side. Now don't get me wrong he is still twisted and a little demented, and has no problem with dealing with issues that need to be dealt with. Now Miss Aurora my sweet, sweet, sweet Aurora. I have been waiting to see her transformation. She lets her beautiful dark wings fly in this book. Everything she has been through the typical person would have not only broken, but would not have evolved like she did. Her kind of dark matches Bennett's perfectly. In You Will Obey everything comes together perfectly. We get to see just how perfectly Bennett and Aurora fit together. He is still on top of things and he makes sure to get everything he wants no matter the cost. Aurora emerges into the beautiful dark butterfly I always knew she would. She has come such a long way, she is no longer blind to the darkness and evil of the world and has no problem dealing with it. I am telling you, you do not want to miss out on this dark and delicious ride.
Bennett officially separates from his father, creating La Fedeltà. Aurora joins this newly named mafia, officially becoming a Made Woman as well as Bennett’s queen. Of course Bennett has his own interpretation of these roles, surprising both Aurora and me!
Aurora often listens to and speaks to what she refers to as her, “dark alter” (her inner voice). I found this unrealistic and wished the author would’ve found a more believable way for Aurora to express her inner thoughts. In addition, scenes were often told from both Aurora and Bennett’s perspective, causing repetition and redundancy. As with all of the books in this series, this installment was in desperate need of a good proofread. There were missing words, extra words, wrong words (for example, APART for A PART and ON ROUTE instead of EN ROUTE), and punctuation errors (for example, semicolons used incorrectly, the FANBOYS comma rule not followed, etc.). With a better editor who can also proofread well, this book would be worthy of 5 stars!
Overall, it was a pretty good series. I kept wondering practically the entire series when this was gonna turn into a romance thing. Because honestly, Bennett was just not showing us anything redeemable. And when he finally did it wasn’t until the last book in the series and even then, Aurora wasn’t having it. She was hell bent on hating him and really, who could blame her? I did quite enjoy the ending though. It was a dark read, in some ways nor as dark as I’ve read but in other ways darker than anything I have ever read. I loved it. The author did an AMAZING job and I’m looking forward to binge reading all of their books! MUST READ.

This was a journey down the rapids (my best analogy) You are never sure what lies around the next bend You get beaten and battered along the way Then when you finally hit calm waters - Not sure if it is the call of the adrenaline or you just hit your head a time to many upon the rocks you drag your battered body back to the start and do it all again
There was so much damage between them Pain that just ... You can't make that right no matter how hard you try You can definitely delude yourself but...
I'm glad she got her chance to get her vengeance Sometimes though it just does not ease the loss like we believe it will
Brilliant. This is a fantastic ending to this series. This book was amazing to read and has some wonderful twists and turns to it. You really have to read this from the very beginning to fully appreciate the ending. I’m sad that the journey has ended but the author has made this a memorable conclusion to Aurora and Bennett’s story. It’s been a deeply deliciously dark read from start to finish.
Wow this book was amazing! This book had all my emotions all over the place and damn did I not fall in love with Bennett and Aurora their story was one of a kind. This series was everything honestly dark and bloody, and twisted. It made me laugh it made me cry it made me cringe and I swear through the whole series I said f*ck so many time but I have to say I applaud Ember Micheals she wrote a amazing story and after this series I have to say she gained another fan!
This third book is a pathetic excuse of a disappointment. And bad example of Dark Romance. There was Darkness but there wasn't romance at all. . .
Poorly written and executed. . .
No characters building, full of ambiguity many loop holes, heroin is selfish bitch only cared about the things she endured, what about other girls, didn't even tried to help her own best friend, repetitively telling that hero wronged her raped her and her best friend murdered parents, murdered fiancee, murdered many innocent girls , used girls as an objects and even consider them source of money and she still couldn't put him in hers killing list to take revenge and just excuse the hero by saying that he was the puppet and was only doing his father bidding, he wasn't forced to raped her or other girls he wasn't forced to kidnapped or trafficked girls ,it was the job he choosed willingly that was only him who run that trafficking business he was as responsible as his father so why only his father should be killed, his father wasn't the one who raped ,tortured her brutally, his son was the one who treated her like an abused animal and still she got feelings for him and forgave him. . . .
The girls who got raped and used in abusive prostitution and would use as sex slaves have not only physical scars but they got scars on their souls, and she didn't seems to have any she pretty much accepted him right after she got out of retribution room after 7 days of hell agreed to be part of the organisation who trafficked girls just to kill his father again why not kill him or why not take him down and his organisation, why didn't she made him suffer, even his best friend who was raped by him and by multiple men on daily bases advocated him and take his side infront of heroin and tried to show him as a good guy. . .
Atleast her deceased sister was better than her she had Empathy towards other girls and tried to free them. But our Main heroin never tried , hell she never even tried to make her own best friend status better after she was bought by his second in command. she was became her maid and she never asked her so called husband who wanted to change only for her so she could ask him just free her friend or atleast stop using her as maid at house.
There was also lacking the bond that should be between best friend.
Their was many loop hole in through out the three books,
1st who was Stepheny mother, why she was abusive why she used her 8 yrs old girl as sex worker, and then left her on her father house
2nd , why her father only tried to protect aurora not stephny if he was so hell bend to protect aurora then he should have do the same for Stepheny,
3rd how aurora grown up and whom she grown up with when her father left her with strangers. When she was 8.
4th why she never fought and never tried to run or seeking help no matter she got chip implant or not,
What happend to her other best friend
Why she never avenge for not only herself and for her bestfriebd ,for other trafficked girls she only blamed the father of the hero who just ordered to kidnapped her but all the brutality was done by his son so why she forgave him after receiving cruelest treatment by him,
Why the police left her easily when she chose to leave her so called husband , When police get chance to inetrogat her they couldn't didn't it well.
And what was the point to chose to leave bennet when she was eager to get back to him. Why she never thought to give his unborn child a normal healthy future or life.
If author wanted to turn the villain into hero and wanted to show romance then there should have been some changing in his character. He should grovel and if he wanted a nice start then he should start with freeing other girls and asking forgiveness from heroin, he never seek forgiveness and when she saw that he wanted to change she should take advantage of that situation and asked him to leave the organisation and free the girls just like her sister asked but she never ever did.
I am soo sooo soo disappointed about this story the way it ends even story line/plot was good and promising but author executed it very poorly.
Mayhem ensues. Vengence is had and no one comes out unscarred. Aurora has become the warrior with a dark heart but only for certain people. Bennett began to feel his soul being tested and his conscience whisper against his will.
An absolutely explosive and surprising ending to a very heart-wrenching and moral tsting series!
Hmmm... This is a tricky one for me. Almost the entire I read this one I was a bit disappointed. From the VERY beginning I HaTeD Bennett. He was an anti-hero if I ever read one, and literally up until the last 55% of this book he beat the hell out of Aurora. There was never anything they really had in common other than Stephanie, which even then I didn't feel counted. Nothing really justified the feelings "he could possibly grow to have" for her?
The HEA made me feel slightly better, I truly wish Aurora would have stuck it to asshole more. The entire time her whole thing was WILSON DID THIS TO ME. Which of course he had a lot to do with her situation, but Bennett inflicted all the pain to her HIMSELF BY HIMSELF for really no reason other than it made him feel good.
Me most of the time ^^^^
Overall I thought it was super good and interesting. I just wished there was more retribution for Aurora from Bennett.
i loved this book! Ember Michaels is an awesome writer, and this has been an amazing series and i am sad to see it end. it has really made me stop and think along the way, and i love when that happens. I can't wait to see what other stories this author has for us in the future... and i hope they make me stop and wonder and think as much as this series has.
you know i have often wondered to myself...how do you forgive somebody who has done all the fucked up things that Bennett has done to Aurora? how do you forgive somebody who has killed your family? how do you forgive somebody who has raped, beaten, and tortured you? how do you forgive somebody who has raped your friend in front of you? is it faith? is it love? is it the belief that people can change? or is it that no matter how bad somebody's actions are... it doesn't define who they are as a person. people do bad things all the time. does it make you a bad person because you did? we all have our reasons for all the things we do... good or bad...does it define us as a person because we have done those things? i have come to the conclusion that i have no idea... but it takes a really strong person to do that.
Bennett did some really horrible things in this book to Aurora. are they forgivable? i don't know... but Aurora found that if she couldn't forgive them she could accept what had happened and move on and make a better life for herself then what she had. and in the end realize that sometime you have to walk thru hell before you can find heaven and it makes you a better person, a stronger person when you walk thru that ring of fire. that what you find on the other side can be worth going thru all of it just to have what is on the other side of it.
Omg when you think it’s safe to enter the ember Michaels world again you get put straight back into that dark and twisted world....And I LOVE IT!
This whole series has had me questioning myself as to why I’m reading this dark book series as I’m not a dark book reader by any means but I went into the series open minded as I’m not going to judge anything without at least giving it go first, and I’m so so glad I did. This whole journey with aurora has been one of sadness, pain, regret, fear, but seeing her rise to the Queen she was meant to be was absolutely incredible. Aurora has this inner strength I think even Bennett didn’t see coming she stood up for what she believed in no matter the consequences even if it cost her, that was only one aspect to her character.
Bennett Bennett Bennett oh sweet Jesus this man......I know I shouldn’t like him, I should want to put him in the ground and laugh BUT he just got into my head and heart like no ones business and wouldn’t let me not like him (the ****) lol yes he put that girl through all sorts of hell but I saw what he came from his background his father, living that life was bound to make anyone slightly twisted and yes I mean a lot twisted lol I found myself willing him to show some humanity towards aurora so that side he showed Stephanie would come forward and he did...Yes that dark side will always be there because that’s the life he knows it’s a given, and yet seeing him at the end like the men I knew was still there kind of broke my heart but also mended it.
Ember finished this book in the way it deserved and I’m so so thankful that she did.....INCREDIBLE 5 STAR READ
Omg! I have read a lot of dark Romance books but this one...it completely blew my mind, he puts her in those seven days of hell , Iam surprised she survived, well he actually made sure of that....He did warn her after all that he will make her regret the day she was born, but my poor heart broke for Aurora , And the worst thing was Bennett was heartless, he didn't even flinch while putting her in that misery , I remember that one line when he opens the box and she falls out of it on him and he actually MoVes sideways to let her fall on the concrete 😫 And then Aurora is broken she never smiles up at him and he feels bad that she is giving everyone what she is not giving him,i.e her emotions her smile....she only answers Bennett in a yes or no Sir, which is what he truly deserves , but I was dissapointed when she goes back to herself after Killing Hank and then almost has pleasure sex with Bennet, Lol I just wanted Bennet to do more....to apologise more...to feel more guilty...to feel awful and regretful to have done that To Aurora...I really didn't want Happy ending for Bennet unless he does something worthy of earning Aurora's and my forgiveness, but nevertheless I enjoyed reading this books

I don't know why, but I just didn't connect with this story. I really wanted to know how it ended, so I started and finished the last in the series although I did skim some parts. I don't mind the darkness level, but I really couldn't be bothered with the H in this one. Up until 90% they didn't love each other (maybe cared on some level) and then in the epilogue 7 months later they loved each other?! The only thing that I loved about this series is the h, Aurora. She was such a strong character, who knows her limits and what she does and doesn't deserve. The dark alter ego aka dark princess was a nice touch. She was definitely badass and the inner dialogue with the alter was funny and kept it real. I just wish she accepted the alter till the very end. Aside from a few spelling and grammar mistakes that really frustrated me, this wasn't a bad book per se, I just didn't connect with it personally. And that's okay, a lot of people did enjoy it.

When I started reading this trilogy, I couldn't help but feel hate for Bennett. His thoughts and actions really made him the devil. He's done so much wrong things to Aurora. Meanwhile, all I wanted for Aurora is to get her revenge and get back at Bennett for ruining her life. When I got to You Will Break, the story had all the twists and turns that really got me hooked. And finally, when I got to You Will Obey, it was everything I wanted for Bennett and Aurora. The dark sides of this story was really satisfying. Although, I want to admit that I wanted more pain for Bennett just to equate the things he did to Aurora but in the end he was able to redeem himself and it was really the perfect ending for this trilogy, so thank you Ember for sharing this great work for all of us to love and enjoy! 😊
The focus of You Will Obey is on Bennett and Aurora's relationship and less on them being at war with his father.
The books starts off with Aurora prepping for an "All Black Party" with Bennett's organization. There he announces he is breaking from the organization run by his father and starting his own called La Fedeltà.
These books are not very long and I really think the plot threads the author wanted to cover in this books would have benefited from being two different books. One being the war with Bennett's father the other being Bennett and Auroras relationship, as well as her new role by Bennett's side. Both threads could have made for interesting, full length books. Instead, they were both crammed into one and the conclusion of both felt VERY anticlimactic and too easily resolved.
Oh my, what an ending! I definitely had my doubts and didn’t think Bennett would be able to fully redeem himself. But Ember proved me wrong and made it impossible not to completely fall in love with Bennet and his dark, crazy psychotic self! The ending will not appeal to everyone, but it was just perfect for Bennett and Aurora! I was so proud of Aurora getting her revenge and her transformation to Queen of La Fedeltà was amazingly written! She definitely proved that she is the perfect match for Bennett! I’m sad that this series is over but look forward to read more from this incredibly talented author!
This series for sure isn’t for faint hearted, but if you like dark, twisted reads I cannot recommend this series strong enough!
For most of this book I was seating at the edge of my seat.A lot of bad things happened to Aurora in the first two books in the series and compared to that things were relatively mellow. But I've always had about regression to the mean saying, that says that things can not be too bad or too good for too long and will always find a way to the middle. In the first two books Bennett was a villain and the author almost tried to humanize him here, showing monsters are not born but made and shame on you William for making Bennett a villain but you got what was coming to you. The book ended in a good place and I almost don't want to read the forth book in the installment, cause you know regression to the mean and all but I am a glutton for punishment
The series is dark - check your TW before reading. Especially books 1 & 2.
Book 3 review: good news here, Wilson gets what’s coming to him. TW: pregnancy trope.
Honestly, this isn’t my favorite. I feel like the story arc concluded at least but there’s a 4th book. The ending is believable because 🌟 trauma bonding 🌟 but Aurora has major Stockholm syndrome and it’s pretty frustrating that she got out of the mess only to go back in.
Overall series opinion:
Series overall rating: 2.75/5
Circling back to write reviews now that I’m done with all 4 books. So here’s the thing, I had a pretty good time books 1-3. Was this series great? No. Was it unique and fresh? Eh kinda but it’s mafia romance which isn’t something I read often. Did I have fun? For the most part. Would I read it again? No.
I would probably have ended it at book 3 - book 4 felt unnecessary.
This is book three in the Rules of Bennett; please be sure to read the prequel, book one and book two before starting this book or you will be completely lost. **Trigger warning** This book, just like the rest of the series, deals with some very dark elements and should only be read by those who are not affected by violent, brutal acts that the anti-hero commits and he may have a hard time redeeming himself in the end because of them. This book wraps up this captivating series and I enjoyed every dark moment of it. Definitely a series that must be read by all the dark romance lovers out there.
Dnf. Love a good dark read but this was bad. Could not connect with Bennett at all. He really doesn’t seem to have any redeeming qualities. I really gave this book a shot. I was curious to see how Aurora would resolve things with Bennett in terms of all the abuse he put her through. I can’t understand how she could fall for him after he was responsible for the deaths of her parents, finance, raping her best friend and herself, him being a trafficker etc. he was just too much. When she started having dreams about his ex I checked out. Too much happening in this book and much of it was quite boring
