I’ve given up my entire life for my father’s club. He and I agreed on a compromise years ago and I haven’t looked back since. When things get messy… I’m the one they call to come in and clean it up. They call me Chaos for a reason.

We have a motto we stand by as the Kings of Carnage… Brothers before all others. No exceptions.

Until her.

She crashes into my dark world like an explosion to the heart and as I watch her naked body hang in an empty room, I have to decide whether to save her from the darkness or become her worst nightmare.

The club expects one thing… but I want another. The only question is, how bad do I want it?

Quick and exciting!
This was another action packed biker experience. The story had a lot packed into a quick read with a hot and steamy romance to top things off.
Hilary Storm writes a good biker book.

Chaos by Hilary Storm was the first book in the Kings of Carnage MC series. It was also my first by the author. The series was written by six separate authors and although are all part of the MC storyline, the books can be read in order or as stand-alones.

Chaos grew up in the MC and his dad was President. It came as no surprise that he was filling the Enforcer position as the newest officer. He lived and died by the MC motto “Brothers before all others. No exceptions” until he was tested. And then Cambri was at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Chaos and Cambri were perfect together. I desired a longer storyline but I enjoyed it none the less. It was a quick read but also well written, well developed for it’s short length, suspenseful and action packed. Simultaneously Storm set the stage for the rest of the series. Bash is up next and I can’t wait.

This was a really enjoyable shorter MC romance. A lot of club drama and context, which I appreciated—if anything, I wish it had been longer to allow for more of the romance.

My Rating: 3.75/5 stars!

Sigh. Could easily have been 4 stars if the second half of the book didn't feel so rushed. The first half was gripping and set the scene — there was a build up forming and early development between the hero/heroine. But when a tragic situation forces their relationship to go from 0-100 within a couple of chapters, it opened a floodgate. From then on things progressed too fast for my liking with little to no real realistic growth to their relationship.

Cambri went through a horrific ordeal. (Trigger warnings). I found it a little disbelieving that she didn't show any real side effects to the trauma she underwent. She didn't go to a hospital to be checked out, and no mention of possible therapy. She literally went from being kidnapped, manhandled, drugged, placed in a situation where sex was her only option at staying alive (not to mention she was a virgin prior to all this). Yet, right after she was saved, she hooks up with the hero (Chaos) and literally can't get enough of him. Hmm. I don't know -- it's one thing to have an attraction and a strong pull, but to be effing the guy (and vice a versa) when some serious shit went down, I kid you not just before it?! Umm. Yeah, no.

I was initially hooked on the concept. I've read countless of MC romances and this was a unique storyline. I only wish it was longer and more thought-out. It would've given it a chance to really develop, build the club and the members up more. I think it would also have given our hero/heroine a chance to have some character growth and have their relationship grow organically rather than one minute they're being introduced to one another, then the next their already naked and intimate. It also would've made what was indeed a sweet Epilogue be more believable when they're professing their love for another and call each other the "one".

I know this is part of an MC series where each book is written by a different MC romance author (and this is a new-to-me author) however it would've been nice to see full length novels for each one. This was a little longer than a novella but nowhere near long enough to be full-length. It's a nice enough start to the King of Carnage MC but I think a big downside is it was too short to show any real progression, character growth, or world-building.

If you like MC romances, and looking for a quick read, then this is a likeable enough book. Chaos, although an MC member, has a good moral compass, cares about family, is loyal, protective, and all things considered —a gentleman. Cambri is young, a little naive, yet not at all immature. She's sweet, and despite the differences between her and Chaos, they do have chemistry and balance each other out.

Hmmm …. This was a short book and it had good parts and boring parts. Most of it was a setup for how Chaos becomes club prez. It deals with the heavy subject of human trafficking but it’s so rushed that you don’t really feel the emotions like wanting to murder the traffickers like in a Pepper Winters book. Then the romance was from zero to 200. One minute she thinks he’s the kidnapper and the next they are in love. The relationship had no development. I assume Chaos will figure into the rest of the series so this is how he became Prez and found his wife.

Definitely a MC story with a story that could trigger if women captured into slavery and other violence bothers you. It did me but Chaos is the guy you want on your side.

I'm not disappointed, I am confused.

The beginning of this novel was brilliant! There was a solid base, things were developing nicely and I loved that Chaos wasn't broody and looking for a change in his life - the usual trope - he indulged in all life had to offer a young enforcer in a MC.

But then somewhere at the 68% mark, everything just got wild and made no damn sense. I feel like a chunk of the story was just edited out and no one cared to think that we never got the love story and this must be a mad man because he just started killing everyone then ended with his own Mission Impossible rescue scene.

.... ok, maybe I am disappointed as well.

While I feel like I understand Chaos as a character, I don't know a thing about Cambri and I worse don't know when they even fell in love. I feel like I am missing a whole novel by the time we got to the epilogue.

Hilary Storm can write. I just don't understand why she gave up halfway through what could have become my new favourite MC series.

This had an intriguing beginning but quickly went off the rails. The Kings of Carnage are a bit of a disgusting bunch. And seeing how Chaos is with a few OW doesn’t endear him to me at all.

The drama was hinted at early so I wasn’t surprised in the least when it came to be. Once the plot got to a certain point everything happened so fast it wasn’t really believable and it felt like a huge chunk of the story was missing.

And…
This is not a romance. The couple aren’t together on page enough for any deep connection to form. They literally don’t know each other at all. And we don’t really know anything about Cambri. She is too embarrassed to even call Chaos at the end because she doesn’t know if they are even a thing.
“Are you just here because you’re horny?”
“No. Well, yes… and no. You make me crazy. I’ve thought about you all week and decided that when I couldn’t even accept another woman’s advances at the club any of the nights this week, I needed to come see you.
Um…ok. That’s barely a HFN.

YMMV.

I really enjoyed this book. One thing I really liked was Chaos was a man of his word and stood up for what he believed in. He is the heart of Kings Of Carnage.

This book begins with Chaos having just been elected into the officers in the club. Guess what is different about this club and others that I've read is they don't vote on stuff. Mostly the president says what goes. In this certain case he proves it but what he didn't count on was Chaos having a conscience. He was raised up in the club to do the killing when necessary so they should have expected it. No, they thought they had leverage but he showed them. Guess you want to know what I'm talking about.... guess you'll have to read it to find out.

This is also a romance so give you a little idea. It's hot, steamy and lots of sex.

Warning ⚠️
There is rape but it's not graphic in case that's a trigger for you.

Chaos🤩

This is the first time I’m reading anything by Hilary and I have to say this book was enjoyable if not slightly unconventional with how this couple gets together but it had MC drama and suspense with a splash of lust/romance thrown in too❣️

Looking forward to getting to know the other brothers in this series better😁

Chaos by Hilary Storm is the first book in the Kings Of Carnage MC series. This novel tells the suspenseful tale of Cambri and Chaos. Hilary Storm definitely knows her way around writing a suspense filled novel.

Chaos is a member of the Kings of Carnage MC. In this novel he starts off as a prospect on the cusp of becoming a full fledged member. This is something he has always dreamed about. Belonging to the brotherhood is what he was born for. But as the novel carries on, Chaos realizes everything he thought about the infamous brotherhood has been nothing but an illusion. This man goes through hell and back in order to save those who would fight tooth and nail to save him. I loved his strong alpha vibes, this man was born to rule and protect… and that’s how he quickly became president of the Kings of Carnage MC. It’s not long before Chaos is on a mission to pull his club out of the exploitation of women and righting the wrongs committed. Only he’s now realizing the dirty club business his former president pushed them into, is hitting too close to home. I loved Chaos’ overall vibes. This man is definitely someone you wouldn’t want as an enemy, that’s for damn sure.

Now onto Cambri’s side of the story. Cambri is the best friend of Chaos’ sister, emily. So in the mix of all that’s going on, we have a somewhat forbidden romance trope. Cambri’s life takes a horrific turn when she’s abducted and forced into a human sex trafficking ring, (let it be known, this novel comes with some pretty big trigger warnings.) I loved Cambri in the first half of the novel, but to put it honestly I thought this novel was a bit rushed for me to really form a connection to the characters. I felt everything was rushed. Cambri went from human trafficking to willingly giving herself, mind, body and soul, to Chaos. I wanted to feel more fear and I wanted to feel more redemption coming from her.

Honestly, if this novel was longer I think I would have loved it more. But because it was a little longer than a novella, I felt there wasn’t enough time for me to develop the emotional connection I craved to have with these characters. And that can be chalked up to a reader preference. I loved the premise, but needed a bit more time with Chaos and Cambri.

This is the first of Hilary Storm's books I've read that wasn't co-authored and I loved it. I will definitely consider going back and reading more of her work.

Chaos (the book and the character) was fantastic! I was drawn in right away, even though the beginning was a little confusing. Chaos (the character) was strong and loved his club. But not above everything. He understood that his family came first (well, some of it) and that, in the end, there were some things he wouldn't/couldn't do, even for his club.

Cambri was an innocent, in pretty much all ways. But she wasn't weak. At least, that's not how I saw her. I thought she was exactly what Chaos needed in his life.

Great beginning to this series and I can't wait to read more!!!

Cambri and Chaos meet through his sister when someone attempts to break into Cambri's apartment. Chaos shows up and is instantly drawn to Cambri. He sets up security, but finds that is not enough when Cambri and his sister decide to go out for some strange reason. They seemed not to get that they needed to be aware of their surroundings, especially in light of his sister having grown up around the Club. Chaos' father, Vic, was a terrible man and decided to take the club into "new" territory which brought them even lower than pond scum. Chaos is unhappy with the new direction and Vic is aware of this. Vic breaks his promise to Chaos and puts his family in the line of fire to try and get his way. It is a turning point for the Club and Chaos has to decide what to do. To say he stood up to the test is an understatement. I liked how he stood up for what he felt was right and didn't act irrationally but with consideration for how it needed to play out. He and Cambri seemed to work from the start and it was interesting to see them try and see what the future was gong to hold with their new normal. I liked this book and felt it was a good start to this series.

Surprisingly good.

I was a little torn about the star rating on this... because the first couple of chapters pissed me off. It was obvious where the protagonist was heading and yet he spoke about women like cattle meat. And... the female characters showed no brains/personality just ass. But, knowing it was all part of the character building process, I pushed through to get to the intention. And... I found it a surprisingly fun read, the result/ending was entertaining and I liked it.

I picked this book up because of one of the authors in the series is an always must read. This was my first Hilary Storm book. This book just wasn’t for me. I would have DNF and moved on but that’s hard to do when you want to read the continuation of the series.

I found the story under developed and layed out in insta-format. One of the plot devices for our H (Chaos) to maneuver through is a serious and triggering topic. I felt the light fast paced tone of this book didn’t really work well with that topic IMO. I understand that joint authorship ventures have guidelines regarding setup and length of each book. I feel that this book was missing something and read no chemistry between Chaos & Cambri.

Ladies and gents, since there's no trigger warning on the book, I'll give you one: TRIGGER WARNING - sex slavery, rape. There. Now that you can actually make an informed decision on reading this book, I feel my job is done. However, if you want to continue reading my review, that's cool too.

Overall, this is a typical one percenter MC romance that moved way too quickly and was more focused on the MC than it was on the "romance." In fact, in my opinion, there was no actual romance. The characters spent almost no discernable amount of time together for there to be a romance. The premise itself was great, though I wish there was a trigger warning on it, I wasn't put off by the brutality of the content. Chaos realizes pretty quickly that he's in over his head when his father goes off the rails with the MC's business dealings (from the normal drugs, guns, whatnot to the skin trade), and he must figure out what to do from there. It doesn't help that his sister's friend is one of the ones kidnapped. Things gets dicey, and it crosses over into more of a dark romance vibe, but there was definitely some interesting places to go from there.

And then...the book just stopped. Done. It's over. And I'm left scratching my head. This book probably needed to be doubled to get a good romance out of it in all actuality. It was just so disappointing for something that had so much promise.

So, I wanted to read the next in the series to see if this is just a first book of the series blip (it's happened before for me), but it's not available on KU. I'm not buying the next one, so I guess it is what it is.

****UPDATE!!!!****
Had to read a second time because I only read the first two books in the series so I had to make sure it was fresh. I have read a lot because of covid this year.

Fanfuckingtastic to the beginning of a new series. By Chapter 3 I was all, "What the fuck am I reading!" By Chapter 8 I was on the edge of my seat thinking, "Ok, this shit is getting real good!" Moving on to Chapter 11 I was on pins & needles. I could care less for the Prez & was fully team Chaos. However, by the end of Chapter 13 I was pissed at Chaos for taking it so far, too far in my opinion. But he begins to immediately redeem himself by Chapter 14.By the end of Chapter 15, Chaos is now my hero. By the epilogue I'm thinking I want my very own Chaos!!!!

On a side note I was destroyed that Chaos couldn't reach his sister Elaina by phone and left her a good by message. Where is she?? Why can't she be found?? Who has her?? ?So many questions reading is the only way to get answers.

Will Church, Poe, Bash, and the others get a story?? Can't wait for more from this new series KOC MC.

Just a thought before I go. Is it me or does Kings of Carnage MC when using initials, KOC sound like Cock MC?? I'm betting that everyone will be hung. Damn, sounds like a fun ride!!!!!

Chaos by name chaos by nature and things take a chaotic turn when Travis aka Chaos’s father Vic who’s the MC’s President decides to lead the club in a new "less than savory" direction, he wasn’t very likeable or trustworthy to begin with and he seals his own fate when puts the two people who mean something to Chaos in danger, one being his sister, Vic’s own daughter and the other’s her best friend Cambri who he’s felt an attraction/connection towards from the moment her first laid eyes her.

As the enforcer of the club, Chaos is used to being in dangerous situations, now he has to make choices that could see him being killed on the spot by his fellow brothers. Thankfully they’re not all as evil and corrupt as Vic, there’s only a few rotten apples to get rid off,
Chaos and rest of the brothers come together deciding where their allegiances lie, working as a team and getting the job done whilst making it through the night alive.

He may have started off as Enforcer for the Kings of Carnage MC, however he’s proved he’s more than capable of leading this band of brothers, and I can’t wait to see what’s in-store next from this new President and the rest of his loyal men.

♥️🌼🔥Good Start For The Kings Of Carnage MC🔥🌼♥️
Chaos has just been made enforcer for the Kings of Carnage MC, and his father is the current president, who is trying to take the club in a different direction...not in a good direction...he’s wanting to include sex trafficking in club business ....This is not the club Chaos has served for most of his life....When his president starts testing Chaos with jobs with which he’s uncomfortable....Chaos knows changes have to be made....♥️🌼🔥
Cambria is Chaos/Travis’s sister, Elaina’s best friend.....Cambria’s father owes the club money, and when he doesn’t pay, Chaos is tasked to kidnap Cambria...He refuses...so his father has her taken, gagged, blindfolded, tied and left hanging as a gift for Chaos....He just has to find away to get them both out alive....♥️🌼🔥
CHAOS is the first Kings of Carnage MC book I’ve read...I loved Chaos and Cambria...and Elaina and Poe...and Bash...and Sly...etc....I liked them all...and I can’t wait to read the other books......Dylan Horsch on the cover is never a bad thing...♥️🌼🔥

OW stuff Nearly Ruined It

If I knew there was going to be outside of the relationship sex in this book, I wouldn't have started reading it. I hate to start a book and not finish it. I kept going. I didn't expect more of that after the H and h meet, but I was disappointed. He slept with someone else after meeting her. What the? Why? This is a romance, right? I can handle some rough stuff in books and I don't expect most MC books to be "pretty", but it makes no sense for an H or h to have sex with someone else in their book. It's gross. It makes their sex and their relationship seem less special. I don't like it, and it doesn't belong in romance books.

The ending was good overall, but a little odd at the very very end. I did end liking the book aside from the manwh**** stuff and outside the relationship sex, and there were some great moments. I'll give the series a shot.

Giving my life to the King of Carnage MC was my choice. A way to protect the ones I love!! My father knew it and used it for himself. Until he wanted to take the club in a very inhuman direction. My name is Chaso and I clean up their messes but not this one. This mess hits close to home with my sister his own daughter. Taking her friend (kidnapping) her to repay a debt of someone else. He gave her to me to do what ever I wanted to do to her. I couldn't hurt any helpless person . Defying my my father I save both of us.. In all the chaos i saved myself, the club, the woman I am falling hard for and my sister. Read how all the pieces fall into place for the big bad bikers and everyone else. This story was exciting fast action packed read from page one to the end with the Kings. Having Dylan on the cover as Chaos is hotness making fantasies come alive.

Huh?

I’ve read soooo many books, and I have never felt so detached from the characters as I did in this one. It felt monotone. The premise was weird. I’m into some kinky stuff but a girl losing her virginity to a guy pretending to rape her? This was a little strange for me. Idk where all the amazing reviews are coming from. I literally could not grasp a connection to the characters. I wanted to like it but I couldn’t get passed the writing style.
