Her Virtuous Viscount

Rate this book
Jilted by the woman he loved, Tom, Viscount Sidmouth, has decided he will happily remain a bachelor for the rest of his life. He wants nothing to do with affairs of the heart. And he most certainly wants nothing to do with the wild widow next door.

After spending years trapped in a loveless marriage, Hyacinth has returned to London on a mission to experience everything she missed. Balls, parties, flirtations, and assignations—she wants it all. She isn't about to allow her disapproving neighbor to spoil her fun. She's living her life one raucous celebration at a time.

Until she inadvertently winds up in the viscount's garden late one night, and he kisses her senseless. There's something about the handsome, forbidding lord that makes her want to abandon her rules.

And Tom? He's beginning to think that, perhaps, the only way to forget about his broken heart is to lose himself in a fling. Why not with the wicked woman who drives him to distraction? It's not as if he is going to fall in love...

Five stars! I was gifted with an ARC and these opinions are entirely my own. It is an unexpectedly-beautiful and touching love story that still has plenty of passion. I didn’t think I would like Tom very much after reading Her Missing Marquess. I was so pleasantly-surprised when I read this book and I ended up feeling a great deal of compassion for him after what Nell put him through.

Viscount Sidmouth (Tom) meets his neighbor, Lady Southwick (Hyacinth) who throws wild parties that keep him awake. He assumes that Hyacinth herself is wild and obnoxious--similar to his former flame, Nell. When Tom spends time with Hyacinth he discovers that she is a beautiful soul and that he feels not only attracted to her, but very comfortable with her. Hyacinth is drawn to Tom’s nurturing nature. Tom takes care of Hyacinth emotionally and physically! He liberates her from the fear of intimacy inflicted on her by her abusive deceased husband. This is a beautiful book, and now one of my favorites by Mrs. Scott. Thank you, Mrs. Scott for giving me a much-needed distraction during this stressful time!

This is a really sweet, funny instalovish story between two really nice but emotionally wounded people who find solace with each other.

If you remember Tom from Nell's book then you know he's the said fiancé/poor sod who was strung along for the longest by Nell while she awaits her husband whom she was never going to divorce. So, Tom has a crushed heart as well as nose- courtesy the angry husband.

So, while nursing the said heart and nose at his London residence, his melancholy is shattered by his new neighbor - 'Lady Party Endless' as he dubs her. Hyacinth has recently shed her widow's weeds and is in mood to celebrate her new freedom after spending years under the thumb of an abusive husband. The noise of her parties shatter his attempts to find peace and one night they meet when he rescues her pug from the thorny rosebushes. They kiss and things get heated from there. (Too soon but well, this is a naughty series.)
Tom is over marriages/entanglements for a lifetime and so is she. They agree on two weeks of sex and then they move on. It was silly to begin with as two weeks is too less a time with the kind of attraction they have.

I didn't like the repeated mention of their exes - till the end. While, the h keeps comparing the truly gentle H to her horrid husband in and out of bed, the H too has a favorable opinion about the h compared to his former fickle fiancee but the comparisons comes up once too often.

Scarlett Scott's hs or the hs in this series at least, are such paradoxical beings or really are just all hot air regarding their running wild status. Because they might spend months/years attending/hosting wild parties/orgies but they themselves remain untouched except by the H.
So, if even a reader like me - who prefers less experienced hs - feels letdown by these hs who are all words and no action then I think the author has taken the easy way out. While the Hs, even married ones, are serial cheaters. Not Tom (or even Nell's husband) - he was the waiting and steadfast kind who has been 'celibate for years' but is let down by his ex-fiancee.
Again, I'm not saying this about Hyacinth particularly but other hs, especially Nell who has held these wild parties even house parties, clearly orgies where she pairs up randoms couples - for years, even danced drunk and half naked on tables herself, but is still celibate. Not believable.
Let's see what happens with Lottie - the next h. She's the self-proclaimed wild widow, of few years.

There's really funny and witty writing here that's sure to tickle and bring up a smile to one's face.
And the twist to modern phrases -
“A lady friend with certain benefits” or “Friends with decided advantages.”
“It was a carriage wreck.

Anyways, they are both adorable separately and even moreso together and Lady Adelaide, the pug adds to the treacliness. And if any two people deserve happiness, these two do. Lady Party Endless and her Golden Goliath.

4 Stars on re-read!

Do we get a Brandon and Lottie story?

A solid read and a cute finale to the "Wicked Husbands" series!

My Thoughts
- The plot was nothing new - a heartbroken hero meets a widow who had an abusive marriage, attraction happens, they embark on an affair to end up with HEA. This is a book where the simplicity of the plot worked. There can be comfort in predictability and this story delivered it.
- The characters were so cute, I enjoyed them. The secondary characters were interesting too and Ms Scott has indicated that they get their HEA as well, so I am looking forward to it.
- What I liked was, due to their affair, Tom & Hyacinth got a chance to get to know each other, a Victorian version of dating if you will. This made the romance so believable.
- An emotional read, you feel everything the author wants you to feel. But then again it's not surprising since Scarlett Scott is an amazing author.
- Tom was not a wicked husband so including him in the series is unfair I feel also the book ends with them getting married so we have no clue what kind of a husband Tom was.
- They could have married early on in the book and we could have seen great character development but that's just my opinion.

The Hero & Heroine
I liked them both. They had their own shit to deal with but their interactions with one another were refreshing, open and honest. They had great chemistry, intellectually & physically too. Their meet-cute was just that, cute! Hyacinth's desperation to cling to "I don't want to marry again" went on too long considering she knew Tom was nothing like her late husband. But they were good together and brought out the best in each other.

My Recommendation
You rarely can go wrong with Scarlett Scott! Barring a few exceptions, her books are fun reads! You will enjoy this one.

Oh this Viscount will have your emotions reeling .
I love them slightly damaged and still hurting , so much more satisfying when they finally fall, don’t you think?

Tom and Hyacinth are both damaged for totally different reasons, but the affection they feel for each other in very much mutual and strong binding.

A great book that will hold you captive the whole way through, I can guarantee satisfaction with these two.

It’s beautiful and emotional, heartbreaking and satisfying.
Can’t ask for more.
Scarlett promised a wonderful book and Scarlett always delivers .

I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review

Everything!! I loved Everything about this beautiful, well written romance!
Lady Hyacinth is a young widow, she is renting a house in London. She has yet to meet her handsome neighbor. When they do, and it’s so sweet how it happened, in their back yard gardens. It’s so much fun reading to their flirtatious banter and kiss that started it all.
Tom! Viscount Sidmouth ❤️🔥I’m so happy that he’s got his own book! He is getting over a broken betrothal and drinking, lots of drinking is his solution.
I am so in love with this storyline, it’s sexy, sizzling attraction, a beautiful widow who is strong, determined and with an adorable and spoiled pet Pug💙
Two people who suffered so much and then to unknowingly find each other is just perfect for Tom and Hyacinth ❤️💕🔥 Also, the tastefully written love scenes are a level 5 🔥🔥❤️!
I laughed, I cried and I got excited reading this beautiful love story, emotional and a perfectly flowing story. I look forward to Lottie and Brandon’s story!

I was given a copy of this book for an honest opinion.

Cute and fun way to end the series. The characters are both good and blunt. Two neighbors embark on a friendship with benefits for both. It was nice to see that Tom was entitled to find love after his ridiculous relationship with Nell, a married woman.

Unfortunately, this author is not for me; although she writes good hot scenes, the books can't hold me like other authors'.

My favorite book in the series was the third, Her Reformed Rake.

Jilted by the woman he loved, Tom, Viscount Sidmouth, has decided he will happily remain a bachelor for the rest of his life. He wants nothing to do with affairs of the heart. After spending years trapped in a loveless marriage, Hyacinth has returned to London on a mission to experience everything she missed. Balls, parties, flirtations, and assignations she wants it all. She isn’t about to allow her disapproving neighbour to spoil her fun. Until late one night her pug, Adelaide gets tangled in the rose bushes & Tom rescues her, Tom asks for a kiss as payment & what is one of the hottest kisses I’ve read leaves Adelaide practically boneless & senseless. Their paths cross at a masked ball & they agree to have an affair for only a fortnight.
I’m so, so glad Tom has had his story & what an awesome romance, touching, poignant & steamy. Tom & Hyacinth are both fighting their demons, him from the bottom of a bottle & her by throwing wild parties but neither of them's happy. Their attraction is combustible but they also start to reveal their past to each other & of course they both fall in love but a fortnight is a fortnight & all good things must end or must they? A brilliantly written romance with very strong characters & a romance that warms the heart
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

Hyacinth and Tom are both damaged by their past experiences. Hyacinth from an horrendous marriage and Tom from a faithless flirt. Hyacinth is determined to enjoy her life now she is free to do so. Lottie her friend is encouraging her to embrace her new life. Tom lives next door and his friend, Brandon is urging him to move on. When Tom and Hyacinth meet, they are instantly attracted to each. However, could it develop into anything more meaningful, can Tom and Hyacinth trust another person again? This was an engaging read with very likeable characters, as well as an adorable pug and an interfering grandmother. I’m looking forward to reading more about Lottie and Brandon.

I ❤️ Tom.
I did not love how he set after Nell in the previous book and he probably broke some kind of bro code there. But I am glad to hear his side of the story in Her Virtuous Viscount.
The heroine in this book was so dang relatable. I loved how, even though she was hurt, she did not allow that hurt to prevent her from forming the connection with Tom. One could totally understand her unwillingness to marry and her desire to be free. But she had these desires without being cowering and fearful. She wanted to just live life and understand who she was at the stage she was in.
Tom and Hyacinth were a sweet couple. Who knew that Tom had all that fire in him! You really do have to watch put for those quiet ones!

Her Virtuous Viscount is the sixth book in Scarlett Scott’s Wicked Husband’s series. It follows on from Her Missing Marquess but can be read completely as a stand-alone.
Tom, Viscount Sidmouth is nursing a broken heart. Having been recently jilted by the woman he loved, he has sworn off love and just wants to drown his sorrows. Unfortunately, his peace is shattered as the house next door has recently been leased by a widow who is intent on throwing wild and scandalous parties every night.
Hyacinth, Lady Southwick is just out of mourning after her abusive husband has passed away. She finally has a chance to live life on her terms and enjoy herself after years of abuse and denigration. She wants nothing more to do with marriage and shackling herself to another controlling male is out of the question. A chance meeting in her gardens with her brooding neighbour has her wanting to throw caution to the wind and follow her own desires for once. Striking a bargain to act on their mutual attraction with no strings attached for a fortnight only, will Tom and Hyacinth be able to keep their hearts intact and walk away from each other?
This is actually a sweet story about two wounded souls who find solace in each other when they had given up finding love at all. Both Tom and Hyacinth have endured loss and betrayal (Hyacinth much more than Tom, I believe) and although they go forward believing they can indulge in a light fling without consequence it is apparent straight off that each are the balm for the others wounds. This being a Scarlett Scott novel there is of course lashings of lust and plenty of passion but ultimately it is a tale of two people coming together, overcoming their insecurities, and finding a well-deserved happiness. Scarlett always imbues her stories with deep emotion and the reader is drawn into the lives of the protagonists, willing them to their HEA.
Tom and Hyacinth are a lovely couple. Hyacinth is a sweet heroine who has valiantly tried to rise above the emotional damage caused by her unlamented husband and whilst Tom is described as brooding, he is really just ultimately a nice guy who finally found the right woman for him. There is no heart-wrenching angst or misunderstandings that drag on and we are left with a gentle sense of satisfaction.
I was generously gifted an ARC of this book but the views are entirely my own and I don’t hesitate to recommend you pick this book up.

I'll preface by saying I generally believe that Scarlett Scott's books can be read in any order and you'll still really love them. And though I think you'll love this one too, I do highly recommend you read Her Missing Marquess first to really understand Tom well.

Tom and Hyacinth are an adorable couple. I loved both of them very early in the book and was rooting for them to figure out the impediments to their being together, which rather than external as is often the case in stories, these were very much internal. I didn't love Tom in Her Missing Marquess (indeed, you're not supposed to), but he is a beautiful character in Her Virtuous Viscount. I really, truly loved him. And Hyacinth is also a beautiful character. I found myself rooting for them the entire way - I didn't have to warm up to anyone in this story!

As always, Scarlett's writing is superb and the chemistry between her characters is amazing. And the opening she leaves for the next in the series already has me intrigued and ready to read the magic she creates!

I received an advanced copy of this book, but all thoughts and opinions are my own and I highly recommend you read this one!

Melt my heart good! When Tom first appeared in “Her Missing Marquess” I was rooting for him to get his own happily ever after and man did this deliver. I think I fell in love with him on page 5. He has to be one of my favorite all time lead males in a book. This story is so heartfelt and beautifully written and you are just in love with Tom and Hyacinth. They are absolutely perfect for each other and through all of their struggles help each other to heal and move forward. Best book in the series in my opinion.

Wonderful book!

Scarlett Scott is a wonderful story teller. I felt like I was in the middle of the story and could not put it down. Tom and Hyacinth's story was so sweet and hot! This story proves good things come to those who wait. I definitely recommend this book and any other book of Scarlett Scott, she never disappoints.

After what Nell did to Tom in Her Missing Marquess I was so hoping for a story for him. Once again this author did not disappoint. Brokenhearted over his lost love, Tom never wanted to feel such pain again. Hyacinth was much abused by her now dead husband and was never going to let anyone treat her badly again. Both didn't know that all they needed was each other. The premise of how they got together was delightful with a little help from another girl named Adelaide, a mischievous pup. You will love the growth of both Tom and Hyacinth's characters as they discover what true love is. I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

Another sizzling gem!

Scarlett's stories are like storehouse of dynamites...the chemistry that she creates between the lead pairs is just awesome! So intense, so gripping. I liked Tom and Hyacinth's story, and Lady was the cherry on the cake. I would recommend it for a quick read.

I had been hoping Tom got his second chance and a very happy one and oh my he did with an equally deserving character who deserved a second chance. He is left jilted. She was in an abusive marriage. They come to together in the midst of night during one of her wild parties while she is looking for pug and he dares her to kiss him in order to retrieve her pug. Can she do it? She kisses him a sparks fly.. They come to an agreement they will only be lovers nothing else. But they end up falling in love with each other.. All thanks to pug and the pug getting lost. Scarlett has delivered yet again another amazing book.. I highly recommend this book..

I was thankfully gifted this book as arc in exchange for an honest review but this purely my own personal insight into this truly amazing book

How I loved this book. Tom was jilted by his fiancée that was still in love with her husband and is nursing a broken heart when he meets his new neighbor, a beautiful widow who is hosting raucous parties every night. Hyacinth had an awful marriage and swore she will never marry again. She and Tom agree to have a fortnight affair without strings then they will part. Of course they fall in love but are afraid to admit their feelings. An unexpected event will force them to meet again, this time forever. I loved both characters. Tom is the ultimate hero, a gentleman, who thinks that women must be only worshiped, is kind and sweet and a wonderful lover. He was jilted and suffered once but this doesn’t prevent him from falling in love with hyacinth and for good this time. He’s the best romantic hero I met, so tender and loving and never less that respectful. He’s not a rake, I loved how he was with hyacinth. And hyacinth was a woman who suffered so much from her previous husband that was afraid to marry again but she fell in love with Tom and eventually understood that life without him made no sense at all. A mild angst level, so much romance, I recommend it for all people who need a romantic book in the very sense of the word, with a true hero you can fall in love with. Beautiful!

Her Virtuous Viscount is the latest from Scarlett Scott’s Wicked Husbands series. It takes place after Her Missing Marquess, and though you don’t need to read it to understand this book, you’d probably enjoy this one more if you do. Either way, this is my favorite Scarlett Scott book to date.

Nursing a broken heart, Tom, Viscount Sidmouth, spends his time in London living next door to a happy widow, Hyacinth. After saving her adorable dog from her rosebushes, they meet in the moonlight, where they share a kiss. This starts the ball rolling. There’s instant attraction between the two, but they both have baggage. And unlike most stories, the only ones trying to keep them apart are themselves.

Tom is one of the characters from Her Missing Marquess, and I thought he was sweet in that book. I fell in love with him in this one. Oh, Tom… He’s still sweet and charming, but you get to see him show off a sexy, flirty side that you didn’t see in the other book. Hyacinth (hate the name, love the character) is reborn after coming out of mourning. She wants to do everything she couldn’t when she married her jerk-late husband. So, when Tom turns on the charm, she’s smitten. Their chemistry is off the charts, and the heat from the sexy times should have made my kindle melt. The writing is fun, funny, and gives you the feels all at once.

Overall, I adored this book. I’m not surprised how much I loved this book, given how much I love the author, but I love this book so much, I want it in print.

I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

This book is AMAZING!! Scarlett Scott did it again!!! OMG these two can’t keep their hands of each other!
Tom, Viscount Sidmouth, is hurting after his fiancée Nelly jilted him and he promised himself never to fall in love again.
After spending years trapped in a loveless marriage, Hyacinth has returned to London and “the merry widow” is looking to experience everything she missed. Balls, parties, flirtations, and assignations—she wants it all. She isn’t about to allow her disapproving neighbor to spoil her fun.
But after Tom recues Hyacinth´s puppy late one night and kisses her senseless, they feel the need to explore this burning fire that has born under the moon.
The chemistry between Hyacinth and Tom is so strong that you can almost feel it. There are a lot of hot scenes between them and this is one of those books that you can’t stop reading even if your house is on fire!
Tom is the hero that every girl wants to marry. He is sweet and considerate -the perfect gentleman-but at the same time sexy and witty and the most important part for me is that he makes her feel special and cherished.
You don´t want to miss this one. For me, one the author’s best books (And I have read all of them!).

This book is part of the series Wicked Husbands, it is a stand-alone book, but if you want to know a little of the background, I recommend reading Her Missing Marquess, which was also a wonderful book. This book is about Tom, who has been hurt and felt betrayed by someone he loved. Tom does not want to fall in love again or be involved with any lady, until he meets Hyacinth, his next-door neighbor. Hyacinth, who is a widow has been hurt physically and emotional in her marriage and now just wants to have fun, freedom and does not want to be involved with any one man. Once they meet and kiss there is a chemistry between them which cannot be denied. The way Scarlett Scott writes a story, she lets you get to know the characters, their feelings, emotions and their thoughts. You feel like you know them, and you are hoping for their happy ending. The love scenes were of course hot, which is always nice, but the nice part is Tom and how nice of a guy he is and how he treats Hyacinth. The author also sets up a possible next book with Hyacinth and Tom’s friends – I can’t wait.
I received an ARC copy of this book for my honest opinion.

Excellent Romance About Scarred Lovers

Hyacinth and Tom's story is beautifully written by Scarlett Scott. Both Hyacinth and Tom have survived difficult relationships. Hyacinth was in an abusive marriage and Tom was rejected by the women that he loved. Both characters really came to live. You felt like you really know them and live in their world from Lady, Hyacinth's pug to the servants to friends Lottie and Brandon. Even Tom's Grandmére, the dragon, is well realized. You laugh, cry, and cheer Tom and Hyacinth on to their HEA. The love scenes are well done and very hot. You feel the attraction between the two crackle off the page. An absolutely delightful read and definitely a 5 star read. Her Virtuous Viscount is an example of why I love Scarlett Scott's writing so much.

Simply delicious, enthralling and wonderful as only Scarlett Scott can write with her magical pen!
He had rescued her "Lady" from the roses bushes, his concerns for her cries... Could he be anymore tempting there in the dark in his banyon holding her precious pug?

Sparks fly, oh yes for these two who are both a little broken from recent bad relationships. Deeply wounded but the attraction is there.
"She thought him the most beautiful man she had ever beheld. Not just because of the way he made her feel--wanted, delicate, beautiful, desired. There was some natural spark between them, pulsing in the air, which she could not deny. Shimmering and glowing and filling her with fire."

A powerful, heart-rending story that pulled my emotions out and fulfilled my readers desires. Another winning story that I will not soon forget!

Wicked Husbands Book 6

Ms Scott has given us a beautiful story of second chance love, are you up for it or do you want to turn your back on what can be. A lot of us have and would after being hurt once, this story shows how you can achieve your lifelong dream of finding that special person to love.

Viscount Sidmouth wanted to drown himself in spirits until a very special lady needs saving, and of course being pricked by rose bushes does not stop him, he does receive a kiss of the nose for his efforts😉 and the widow who actually lives in the house, who parties every night and keeps him awake, shows her appreciation by confusing him with a thank you kiss.

Absolutely beautiful story, not to be missed.

Highly recommend all in series

Stand alone

I won this book in a competition and did not have to do a review but it was such a wonderful story, I just had to.

Top ten reasons to read Her Virtuous Viscount:

-Tom
-The incredibly sweet romance
-Lady the pug
-Tom
-Two awesome best friends secondary characters
-Tom
-The strong, likeable heroine
-The steam
-Tom
-The good prose, pace and dialogue

This was my first book by this author, but it probably won't be the last. It had a few tropes often found in the genre, but they happened to be cliches I enjoy, so i'm not complaining.
I struggle to find anything negative to say really, I simply loved this story, so go read it!

It was ok...

Not really my cuppa since it was another case of Instalust/Instalove... The blurb was promising tho, I was expecting some hate/tension between them after the first pages because he was just looking for some peace while she was a loud neighbor lol

But nope, end of chapter 1 he asks for a kiss out of the blue, and she seems already smitten because he saved her dog: instalust for Tom and instalove for Hyacinth. I mean I get it, she had a shitty marriage and her ex was a monster so meeting such a nice guy was probably a big deal for her. And him, being recently jilted by his former bride after spending years of courting her AND remaining celibate, I understand his lust given how pretty Hyacinth was lool

But, all in chapter 1? Nope, give me some tension, give me some characters development before having them kissing and all...

Anyway, the story wasn't that bad: way too much sex however, each of their interaction was just sexual lol! The first scene in the library was nice and hot, but after that it became redundant -_-

I liked the side characters, Lottie and Brandon: I was hoping for their story but I saw the series only has 6 books listed on GoodReads? Which is weird because at the end of book 6 there is a excerpt for book 7... The grandmother was not bad either lol!

The epilogue too was sweet, I really liked it.

3 stars!

Oh, I am so happy - thank you to Scarlett for giving the readers a happy ending (even though we whined a lot) for Tom!

The handsome, kind and loving, Tom, Viscount Sidmouth has achieved his HEA and no one deserved one more than him. After his heart was broken by Nell, in the Missing Marquess Book 5 in this series; he has decided he will remain a bachelor for the rest of the life and happily proceed with the single life.

Hyacinth, Lady Southwick, is beautiful and has recently become a widow. Her marriage was arranged by her parents to a man old enough to be her father. He was verbally abusive, a couple of time physically, and they stayed in the country where he controlled her every move until his death. She now lives in London and is ready to spread her wings, embrace her freedom and just love the single way of life.

Tom & Hyacinth are both trying to survive their hurt from the past and move forward to happiness and when they meet everything they have planned is thrown into a whirlwind of romance, lust & love . The explosion of Tom's long celibacy and Hyacinth's horrible marriage bed experiences lead to a fantastic love affair and more. This was a rewarding and fulfilling book that will leave you completely satisfied with its successful conclusion for two deserving people.

Her Virtuous Viscount. I don’t know how she did it. But she did. Tom and Hyacinth are an amazing couple. Tom jilted by his former fiancé who was the heroine of the previous book. He’s extremely bitter and disillusioned in regards to women when he meets his new neighbor Hyacinth. Hyacinth is a the widow next door and us a adorable dog. They have a adorable meet cute with the dog. Tom is attracted by new neighbor and encourage by his best friend to have some fun with the widow. Hyacinth has been scarred by her dead husband and isn’t looking for something permanent just a two week affair. What can two people that are falling for each other have a quick affair.

Guys this book is amazing as always Scarlett Scott. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
