A charming isekai tale about a woman's magical entrepreneurship in a fantasy world. (And don't miss the original light novels, also available from Seven Seas!)
Sei, a 20-year-old office worker, is whisked away to a whole new world. Unfortunately for Sei, the ritual that summoned her--meant to produce a Saint who would banish the dark magic--brought two people over instead of one. And everyone prefers the second girl over Sei?! But this is just fine by Sei, who leaves the royal palace to set up shop making potions and cosmetics with her newfound magic. Business is booming, and this might not be such a bad life, after all...as long as her supposed Sainthood doesn't come back to haunt her.
Sei and Albert spend a day in town together, relaxing and doing a bit of shopping. Considering the amount of time Albert spends holding Sei's hand, it's clearly a date, but it still comes as a shock to her when people later call it that. Why would a guy as handsome and wonderful as Albert possibly be interested in her? After all, Sei was never very popular back in her own world.
After learning more about a gift Albert gave her, Sei becomes interested in the art of enchantment and is given the opportunity to try it. She also finds herself slowly losing her private battle to keep the strength of her saintly abilities a secret - as much as her introduction to this world still bothers her, she also can't bring herself to just do nothing when she sees a situation where her powers might do some good.
The artwork is lovely - good, clean linework, nice use of screentone, and attractive character designs. Unfortunately, I continue to feel that the characters and story are pretty bland. This second volume of the manga covered the latter half of the first light novel. Sei's date with Albert and the aftermath were overall sweeter and more fun in the novel, despite my issues with the writing. I don't know exactly what the problem is, but somehow the manga seems to be flattening out the story's emotional beats a bit.
Something about the manga also highlighted a few of the story's problems: not much happens, and Tachibana can't seem to decide exactly what she wants this story to be. If it's a fantasy romance, then it's pretty weak - Albert is handsome but otherwise bland, and pretty much disappears during the second half of the volume, turning up only briefly for the gift scene. Otherwise, it's mostly Sei chugging mana potions in between enchanting a bunch of gemstones and occasionally chatting with folks.
Which is basically the same as the novel, but for some reason it didn't bug me as much there. You'd think it would be the other way around, since it takes fewer pages and less time commitment to get through the same events in the manga.
One thing I did prefer about the manga vs. the novel: the hints of what's to come. I thought that was communicated a little better here.
Well, I'm interested to see what I think about volume 2 of the light novel series, once I finally get it. At this rate, I think it'd probably be best (for both my budget and shelf space) to stop buying the manga and focus on the novels instead, for however long they can keep my interest. I could definitely see continuing the manga series via library checkouts at some point, though. It really is pretty. And I really need to watch the anime at some point.
Extras:
A couple very beautiful full-color pages, an afterword by the series creator, and an afterword by the artist.
Due to the omnipotent magic of Amazon, I ordered this yesterday, and it arrived today. (As did volume 3, but I haven't read it yet.)
Sei is SUCH a Mary Sue, and I'm loving it for that. It's relaxing, and right now I needed a story without a lot of angst or a lot of woe-is-me. The artwork is beautiful, and the story is progressing.
Tomorrow I'll read volume 3. After that, I have to wait for freaking December for volume 4. I will prepare a suitable pouty face for that eventuality. ;-)
I have SOOOO many excited feelings at the end of this volume!!
Though I will be quick to admit that I am feeling MOST conflicted on wanting to read more volumes slowly, relishing each chapter, OR quickly devouring them and getting a huge serotonin boost as I read because it's official: I am hooked on this story!
It definitely wasn't like I wasn't already enjoying it, but happy swoon to those few romantic moments we got in this volume! EEEEEPPP! It seems like a nice slow burn, which I appreciate because Sei has never dated anyone, and confess that seeing her panic about how she went on a DATE with the "Winter Knight" was SO cute! I'm like, "Girl, you can try and avoid your feelings, but you know you're feeling something special for him too!" LOL! I know I'm definitely on this hype train and SOOOOO crushed that I haven't been able to find any merch of them! Hopefully will see even MORE romance next volume! (I know I appreciated the original creator saying how she wants to write more romantic scenes for future volumes so they can get illustrated! YES PLEASE!)
I really enjoyed seeing Sei learn (once again LOL) a new magical ability. I don't know how anyone can deny that maybe the Prince messed up in choosing the wrong person as saint because Sei's powers are very much OP. When we find out how rare it is for someone to do even a quarter of what Sei is doing, it's absolutely incredible how powerful she really is! I appreciated the bonus chapter and how it actually clarified/pointed out a few things in that not everyone is standing around her in shock and questioning how can this.
Also, SURPRISE CHARACTER ARRIVAL! :o :o :o I love how down-to-earth and slightly panicky Sei gets on occasions, with this being one of them because her saying how bad that meeting was for heart definitely made me laugh! I didn't expect her to meet that kind of character and VERY curious about how things are going to unfold, especially with the ending itself! :o :o
And I will just say that I am SO proud of Sei! She was brave and took action despite that she knew there was no going back to an "ordinary" life. I also agree with a knight commenting earlier in the volume that she really DOES act more like a saint in how caring she is for other people and wanting to do all she can to help them. Not saying Aira isn't exactly, but she definitely doesn't have a strong track record with the people either.
Hoping for the best of the best for this amazing woman! This series is quickly shaping up to be everything I hoped it would be and more! <3
Rating: 4 Stars ★★★★ The Saint's Magic Power Is Omnipotent is a delightful isekai series following a woman's adventures in a fantasy world where she may actually be a saint! The riveting cast of characters is what makes this series so much fun, alongside the slowburn romance, intriguing magic system, and main character Sei. A perfect manga series for those who enjoy quiet fantasy stories!
The second volume focuses more on Sei's quiet adventures in this world as she uncovers more of her own magical abilities, meets new friends, and continuing living her quiet life.
I'm watching the anime as I read this series and I'm enjoying how it changes up the story a bit compared to the manga. Sei and Hawke, these TWO together? My heart cannot take it. The romance is very quiet, slow-building and the chemistry they have is super sweet. Taking a trip to town and visiting the stalls, having lunch together, and Hawke buying her a gift...he is SO in love with her. Their relationship is top tier and ahh any time they are together my heart melts.
The magic system of the world builds just a bit more as Sei learns about Enchantments, enjoyed seeing that development introduced through the hair piece that commander Hawke gives her! Overall love seeing all their scenes together. (✿´‿`) I like the RPG leveling, Holy magic, and enchantment details that add all these unique elements to the already expansive magic system here.
As Sei keeps her saintly powers to herself, it was a great addition in this volume to focus on her building her magical abilities and knowledge on holy magic, enchantments, etc. My only wish is that there was more page time of her with the other characters. This volume focused a lot on her and being in Sei's head.
There's some nice character introductions like the king, one of the royal magis, some knights, etc. If anything it would have been better to see more bonding between her and her friends because this volume does branch out in different directions as she learns more about magic, but intrigued to see how they explore it in the anime!
The ending surprised me the most because it started focusing on her saintly powers and how it'll impact her later on, intrigued to see how that'll go!
The Saint's Magic Power Is Omnipotent is perfect for those interested in a fantasy slice-of-life series who don't mind slow fantasy tales, layered magic systems, and slowburn romance! Through its compelling heroine, quiet storytelling, this is a unique isekai series you should definitely check out!
The story so far is still very lax, I'd say I guess this is more suited for people who are just looking for a light and relaxing read. The art is still nice, and the characters are likeable but at the same time if you're the type who's looking for some fast progress, then this manga isn't for you. I'll probably read this only if I'm in the mood for some relaxing manga. :)
Sei is still just doing her thing, which happens to involve constantly upheaving the current way of the world. She’s also surrounded by a lot of guys and trying to lead a peaceful life, but an investigative trip to the library might soon put her in arms way...
Well, this is still one of the better isekai out there, although it is definitely leaning hard into the stories that came before it. After a quick digression for a rather charming little date, Sei is off causing more mayhem.
Once she gets involved with creating magic foci, Sei once more proves more adept than anybody else at designing these items and once more threatens to completely collapse the economy (there’s a much more amusing version of this story lurking in this running gag).
The reason this story works for me is because of Sei. While she’s largely abandoned her old life, she remains a winning and principled heroine. She’s clearly the titular saint, and she knows it, but I love how she worries about how this affects the other female who got summoned (who remains such a deliciously tantalizing outlier that I almost want to read the light novels).
She might be a little too star struck during her date, but given her lack of success previously, it’s believable. We then get another male interested in her and a fairly cute meeting with the king - Sei’s refusal to take any recompense for being stranded in this world might be her most saintly action yet.
We end off with the knowledge that Sei’s abilities haven’t exactly gone unnoticed and her carefree life is not quite as lackadaisical as it might seem on the surface. It’s a nice wrinkle that lets us end with the promise of interesting things to come.
It’s a little slight, honestly, and definitely lacks a bit of the bite from the first instalment. While I like what we get, this is a manga that definitely recommends the original series more than some other adaptations I’ve read. It does feel a little like we’re missing on some of the meat.
3.5 stars, but I’ll give it the full four because I like Sei so much. The story is definitely settling into a traditional isekai groove, but having such a magnificent heroine keeps it a step above its competition.
Sei’s story continues as she goes a *date* with Al (a cute, casual day shopping around town!), learns enchanting, and may or may not have revealed that she’s actually the true saint.
I’m still loving the cozy, low-fantasy life and worldbuilding! No surprise there lol. Even though there’s not too much going on, It’s really enjoyable watching Sei explore both the world’s magic and her own growing powers. It’s been a bit since I watched the anime, but I’m pretty sure things pick up soon, especially with the mention of the saint’s role in purifying miasmas and exorcizing demons. I’m still not completely sold on the “romance” between Al and Sei but it's cute, sweet, and super innocent.
Overall, a charming continuation of the series! Can’t wait to see where Sei’s journey goes next - stay tuned for more!
This volume is even better than the 1st, while the first volume was an excellent introductory volume for the story and the main character…. This volume is more focused on how Sei is settling into her life and her magical abilities in the new world…. Also a very cute date, or not date with the handsome Albert…. Am looking forward to more days with them…. Can’t wait for the rest of the volumes to arrive so I can binge read it.

Je suis tellement amoureuse de cette série de mangas! Le tome deux seulement et il est incroyable, l'intrigue, les actions de Sei, son secret déjà dévoilé ! Tout est génial dans ce livre je ne peux qu'adorer !
Snapshot review: god, i'm having so much fun with this series, but clearly not as much fun as the author lol. and we're starting to get more serious about the plot (and fanservice)! yay!
Sei goes on a date with the Winter Knight and begins to find out how much her unlimited 'use holy magic' can help the wounded.
This is a delightful little cozy story. Not a lot happens in the volume but I really enjoy watching Sei be so happy about being useful while she gradually realizes just how powerful she is.
The Knight Captain has invited Sei out to see the town. Beforehand, Sei is told from Liz that Hawk is known as the Ice Knight because he is known to be cold.
Throughout the whole trip into town, Hawk holds her hand, helps her out the carriage, and even buys lunch. They go to a shop, and Sei looks like at a hairpin, but because of the price, she walks away.
After arriving back, Hawk gives her a box and tells her to open it when she is alone. She opens it to find a similar hair clip of the one she was looking at but the color is similar to the Captain's eyes.
The next day, the Director asks her how her date. Which catches her off guard because she was not aware that it was a date. Which is her first date ever. Later, Liz, notices the pin and surmises that the Captain interested in her because the pin matches her eyes which is customary to give the woman they are interested in, which Sei didn't know.
She bakes some sweets, and makes one of her creations into a necklace for him. I loved that interactions as well as the way she met the King.
Later, Sei struggles with staying hidden with some of the Knights are injured and must leave the Knights because they are missing limbs. She makes the decision to heal them all, even though it may mean that her quiet life may come to an end. I honestly thought she would have collapses after healing so many people.
I am anxiously waiting for the next volume. I hope it gets here soon.
Sei seems a bit oblivious as she claims she's never had any romantic relationships, but it certainly does seem the commander is interested in her. She's also seems to have made easy friends with both her coworker Jude and Liz who she keeps running into in the library. It seems she continues to defy expectation as she takes an interest in magic and endowing objects with various properties. Even the king is taking an interest in her, though it is a bit surprising she hasn't run into him sooner given she is also one of the Saints that were summoned by the magi. She won't be able to lay low or hide that as well after her most recent display. For wanting an easy life, she sure ends up being at the center of attention a lot.

Sei and Albert sittin' in a tree. K-I-S-S-I-N- Shut up, I'm still 5 at heart and they're adorable.
Anyway, Sei and Albert go on a date and he gets her a present that is enchanted. Sei, after realizing it was actually a date, becomes interested in enchantment... So here we go again, with Sei figuring out some new magic that allows her semi-secret Saint powers to make her way too good at. And speaking of the Saint's Holy Magic ∞ stat, she starts looking into what Holy Magic is actually good at.
Meanwhile, the King and a few other people who know Sei's capabilities are worried about her safety... so... drama incoming?
I’m fully hooked on this series now. Volume 2 was great and so adorkable – loved it!
Sei’s humbleness, compassion, and efforts are increasingly making her invaluable. Due to that, she’s trying to be careful that others don’t know just how overpowered her stats are and the implications that may come with it so that she can continue to live life unencumbered. I liked the sweet, romantic developments happening between Sei and Albert – they’re so cute together! I also liked that we got to meet more new and important characters.
This was an enjoyable, entertaining, and wholesome volume.
Still kind of boring, is there going to be an actual plot? The romance might've been cute had there been any build up to it. It seems like they're maybe building to something with Sei being the saint but two volumes in and it's gone nowhere. Sei can literally do anything she wants with magic without trying and is super popular among all the men. I'm not sure how this is meant to be relatable or interesting?
Sigh, the crown prince went from horrible to a**hol3/ delusional. That poor other girl I felt so bad for the 16 year old girl. She may as well have been held hostage by the prince. I can’t wait to read book 3 to see how the adventure continues. Lots of thing have been cleared up in this book and I’m interested to see how much more will be added and I want to know more about the previous saint.
'The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent' vol 2 is a good continuation; we get a date with a hot guy, a bit more about how her magic power can support the kingdom, and a few more hints about what might be going on behind the scenes. Still perhaps a bit more RPG-like than it really needs to be, but it's a fun otome dating novel for all that.
I'm really interested in the "Saint summoning" aspect of the story and the question of whether or not the prince chose the right one, but Sei is too perfect. She does everything right without any difficulty, which makes her an uninteresting character. I keep reading because of the magic system and worldbuilding, but that's pretty much it.
Look now that I read both books the crown prince is a real d*ck. For one he picks one girl over the other and when it come out that Sei is the Saint I want him to beg forgiveness. But other then that it is a really good story and great world building.
Slow-going. Little is actually happening. I have no problem with the main character being ridiculously OP. Not sure how I feel about her wishy-washy attitude though. It's really starting to annoy me.
continues to be great. I love the more relaxed pace and so far pretty low stakes…but the cat’s out of the bag, now that sei has used crazy healing powers to bring back a severed arm and also created foci imbued with magic at a legendary level!!
the romance in this volume was *chef’s kiss*!!
