Okay, this comic is dated. Like uber dated. Like some lingo I never even heard was used in it and I'm a 90s baby. Its interesting, lol.

It also does a thing I kinda hate which is where every character refers to each other by their codenames. Kon frequently calls Tim "Rob" which is a nickname based on his codename and I didn't like that. I was confused about Cassie being a brunette because I swear she has blond hair in other comics? Idk.

Anywho, David fooled around with some fourth wall breaking here. There were quite a few really bad jokes. Like not offensive just dad jokes? Tim talked like someone's middle aged stepdad. I'm trying to like this character, honest I am but he's quite the wet blanket here. Although, I think I finally pinpointed why Tim Drake doesn't work as a character for me: he's like Batman. He's super competent, highly skilled, intelligent, etc but he has little to no personality in 90% of the books I've read with him. Here, he just spoils everyone else's fun and that's sort of his only role. I had wondered if perhaps I just don't like straight man type characters but I adore Captain America and he does quite a few of the same things. Something about Tim just doesn't work for me. I hope that changes as the series goes on.

Anywho, I adore Kon. Kon's a dear. He's adorable, a little temperamental and protective over his teammates. I've decided to stan.

I was annoyed at how the women were written in 90% of this. Again, I hate when a female character's only personality trait is being boy crazy. A lot of Cassie's role here is drooling over Superboy and being jealous when he fawns over Arrowette. I should also mention Arrowette showed no interest in anyone (except Cassie, to be honest). It's so stupid, immature and honestly it just annoys me. Women have a lot more to discuss besides whether a dude finds them dateable. I hope Cassie gets over that soon. Because Cissie is adorable and they'd actually be adorable together (I'm pretty damn sure that doesn't happen though).

So, while dated, this was pretty interesting. Not gonna lie, all of Impulse's line were annoying to me. But I'll continue on because this series is okay.

A very interesting first series about a couple of teenage superheroes trying to make it on their own (wait a minute...) Robin, Superboy and Impluse team up and fight the bad guys, even when fighting themselves. They soon gain more members and even attract the attention of the Justice League! A great series to read when wanting to know more about the Young Justice and how it all started.
P.S. There is a TV series that is called Young Justice and there are actually similarities to these comics!

Fun and engaging, I enjoyed it quite a bit. Issues 5 and 6 were my favourites.

100% recomendado.

I have always loved the light, humorous air of teen-aged superhero comics. Young Justice has even more to recommend it and that more comes in the shape of Robin. Tim Drake is, as I have said many times before, the best Robin ever. Oh, it isn't Dick's fault that he was found by Bruce after his parents died and he didn't, say, obsessively track down Batman because he is smart enough to do that. It is totally Jason's fault that he was angry and boring all of the time, but that's not important. What matters is that Tim won his way into the Bat-Family through is amazingly detailed intelligence and thankfully-not-debilitating OCD.

It is just awesome to see him interacting with other heroes his own age, most of whom did not in any way choose their lives. Tim is prepared for every eventuality while the others are--to a teen--the type to blaze in and ask questions never. He wears a second mask under his mask just in case he is dared to take it off during their truth or dare game. And yes, they play truth or dare, because they're sixteen and that's what sixteen-year-olds do. And I absolutely believe that that is not the only dare he prepared for in advance. He would never choose truth, but isn't it more than a little possible that he'd rehearsed his little speech about giving up being Robin happily when humankind is a utopia without crime or heartache? (Of course, this is more than a little sad given Certain Future Events involving People Who Don't Get Angsty Memorials In The Bat-Cave.) Perhaps he rehearsed more than that. Knowing Tim, I'm willing to believe that he had answers of that caliber to fifty or sixty questions, all designed to boost team morale and assist in the development of teamwork. I'm sure he also had swim trunks in case anyone suggested skinny dipping, a low level white noise generator in case anyone snored, and a gas mask in case the Scarecrow attacked the camp site for no reason.

So much of this inspired the Young Justice TV show! For being over 20 years old, this is a fun book. I love young heroes working as a team, so this is up my alley, naturally. That said, it was a bit dated for me, and there was too much dialogue most of the time. I found myself skimming. 3.5/5 stars.

Id, ego and superego unleashed.

Robin, Superboy and Impulse start their own version of the Justice League. Not Justice League Junior, but Young Justice.

Reading this brought back memories of watching the first 2 seasons and Supergirl on Netflix. The last chapter was referenced in an episode of Teen Titans: GO.

Dios, en qué me he metido?

I used to love this graphic novel when I was younger.

It's an origin story for Young Justice. This is definitely a piece aimed at younger readers. There's a lot of cheese and many questionable jokes, also some of the dynamics haven't aged particularly well. There is also little compelling story to tie the fragmented issues together - beyond the fact that they are joining together to form a team. The few really intriguing elements, like what the deal with Secret is, aren't wrapped up here and I presume were ongoing narratives in the issues following these.

Still a bit of fun but certainly not some of the greatest comic material out there by a long stretch.

Well, this was almost painfully dated. Oh, I still enjoyed it. I almost always like reading any of DC's teen hero books. But this would have been so much more amusing when it was written. Now, the references are dated, but not nearly as dated as the art. I'm sure it was quite serviceable at the time, but now... And I'll stay away from the clothes and hair. Still, I remember really liking it when it first came out.

But put all that aside, and it's a fun, light weight teen superhero book. The character interactions are realistic and, honestly, the best part of the book. We're watching teens who aren't necessarily compatible in the first place grow to become good friends and teammates. A lot of this will carry over into the characters' Teen Titans run, which I also remember liking at the time.

I liked how Kon, Tim and Bart when together have only half of a braincell. The camping scene was cute. I liked how Red Tornado is the world's most deadpanned babysitter.
I liked the witches with the computers as an idea. That was a nice touch. Other wise I have very low tolerance for MXYZPTLK. I just don't find him funny at all.

I wanted to like the idea of parent-teacher conference, but it doesn't really work. Because if they were responsible parents/mentors, then the kids would not be out there superheroing, because they are f**** kids. It's a moral oxymoron that all superhero comics suffer from and they try to tackle it time to time, but I don't think I've read anything that actually worked, (maybe in fanfiction). I think it is better, when it is ignored, because if you go down this road, you need to commit, and commitment means Batman arrested for reckless child endangerment.

I am not fan of the art style. Poor Superboy.

My interest in Young Justice and reason for buying this book falls souly on the fact I'm a 90s kid and 90s Superboy is easily one of my favorite childhood characters!

This book didn't blow me away, and I was bit thrown off by the tone and style of stories.

Loads of humor... not exactly your standard DC fair.

In the end this book won me over enough that I will continue collecting the other books, but I've decided to take a break and jump ahead to Bendis's Gemworld Wonder Comics Young Justice to see what I think of more modern take on these classic characters.

At times this book felt like a 3 for me because while some of the individual parts really interested me the over all through story wasn't to gripping.

I'll check out Book Two sometime soon, for now I decided on a 4 star rating because I'm optimistic about continuing to follow these characters!

Young Justice vol 1 is such a lighthearted and fun volume to read. I started reading this series as I it features prominently "Impulse", my favorite speedster and I was not disappointed . Not every story should be world-breaking and universe-shattering in order for it be great.

My only problem with this volume is the ending of Young Justice 1.000.000. It was dark but tried it to pass it off as a joke. However, the future "Impulse" was amazing.

NOT The Justice League
NOT The Titans. Teen or otherwise

These young heroes "sidekicks"
of other older heroes.
Come together to fight a menace.

The press in hounding
them accidentally a name
mis hearing
"we're not a team, We're young just us"
And Young Justice is born.

Becoming an instant hit
spawning a cartoon series.

Brilliant story telling
by an absolute Master.

After reading Young Justice: A League of Their Own I thought it was okay. I felt that the super villain's did not really seem all that powerful. I also felt that the team was not really challenged. The plot was okay, but not much to it.

One star is reserved for books I can't even finish. This is sexist, the art is atrocious, and the plot isn't nearly compelling enough to make it worth it.

Extremely dated and pretty sexist. All the female characters feel like an after thought. There as a plot deviation to move the male characters story a long.
