North thinks Shaw needs a vacation. Shaw isn’t so sure, until he hears about the possibility of goat yoga. When the goats disappear, though, Shaw decides he only wants one thing on his vacation: to find them. This story takes place before Triangulation.
I'm a long-time Midwesterner. I've lived in Chicago, Bloomington (IN), and Saint Louis, my current home. Aside from reading and writing (which take up a lot of my time), I'm an educator.
While I enjoy reading across many genres, my two main loves are mystery and speculative fiction. I used to keep a list of favorite books, but it changes so frequently that I've given up. I'm always looking for recommendations, though, so please drop me a line if you have something in mind!
My big goal right now is one day to be responsible enough to get a dog.
This short novella, placed after book 1 in the series clearly shows one thing – North would do anything for Shaw. Not only does he ‘kidnap’ the guy to go on a short break and monitors his well-being 24/7, he even lets himself get dragged into finding some missing goats. Yes, goats. LOL.
This has great banter, lots of really well directed sarcasm and quite a bit of heart-ache. Because North finds it more and more difficult not to show what he really feels for Shaw.
Oh, Greg *sigh* You kill me with these little interludes.
After the events in Orientation Shaw's processing isn't allowing him to rest or even sleep. He's twitchier than usual and North figures a getaway to do stuff Shaw likes and North emphatically does not is just the ticket. One of those things is doing yoga with baby goats, b a b y g o a t s 😍!!! North isn't as thrilled but he'll do anything for Shaw. The problem? The goats have gone missing. Of course they have.
This is a short story and the mystery is solved in no time so the real draw is the interplay between between our MC; how North is just barely holding it together trying to contain his feelings for Shaw; how Shaw seems to have cut some of the strings that kept him tethered to an awful past.
I'm counting the hours until my paperback of Triangulation arrives. These two have their claws in me just as they have them in each other.
Somehow I had missed all of the tiny North and Shaw stories. Thanks Shile for sending them my way. The only problem with this is that now I want to reread all the full length novels. 😂🤷🏻♀️
I actually read this one first and immediately knew this new series was gonna be for me. There is so much hilarious banter packed into this short story as well as a little bit of sarcasm, which I love!
