I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.

Sawyer and her best friend Skye are working as waitresses at Wild, her parents don’t approve of her job and make it clear that she is on her own. Her dream is to become a vet and volunteers at the local animal shelter. Her job is going well and things are even looking even better with the new hunky barman Gunner, she is shocked when she arrives at the shelter and finds that she is going to be training a new member of staff who turns out to be none other than Gunner. Its not long until these two bond over there love of animals so when he tells her of tiger cubs that have been separated from their mother by an exotic animal breeder and he plans to reunite them. Will Sawyer be convinced to help him and is there more to what they are sharing than just friendship?

This was a short read which I really enjoyed. Highly recommended 4* read.

Laughs and Wild Adventures

3.5 stars - A cute story with some laughs, wild adventures, and a hot pop of steam to top it all off. Gunner has a secret and Sawyer has one, too. Hers being that she's got a crush on the older guy who she seems to be running into in and out of work. His secret is more complex that you have to read to see. 😁 I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

We begin learning all about Sawyer and her almost obsession with Big Cats. She and her best friend Skye both work at a new restaurant in town called “Wild”. Her parents didn’t want her working there and threw her out of the house. Now she lives with Skye and it’s all working out for them. Generally speaking, the Wild is doing very well and the girls get paid good money, get medical and benefits too! There’s a new guy at work named Gunner. He’s an older man, a few white hairs and built pretty well. And, he’s quite handsome. Hubba hubba!

Sawyer isn’t just obsessed with Big Cats, she loves animals and wants to be a veterinarian. She even volunteers at the local no-kill shelter. It’s there that she has to ‘train’ Gunner for his first day there. He’s amazing with all the animals there, even the difficult ones. He isn’t just a ‘Dog Whisperer’, he seems to be an Animal Whisperer which completely steals Sawyer’s heart.

This is such a fun and quick read. I enjoyed it immensely! I have to say that I sort of read this out of order in that I read Thick (Curvy Ambition Book 1) first. Then I went and read this prequel which was written three months after the first. While I did like the first story, I liked this one much more. Sawyer, Gunner, the tiger cubs and all the other animals made this a very delightful read. Now I have to go back and re-read the first book before reading the rest of the series!

Sawyer worked at a hotspot bar and also volunteered at the local animal shelter. There was a new employee, Gunner working at the bar and he showed up at the local animal shelter to volunteer. Sawyer and Gunner hit it off. Gunner was somewhat of a animal activist and Sawyer wanted to be a veterinarian. Gunner asked Sawyer to help him rescue some lion clubs. Will Sawyer help Gunner? Will Sawyer and Gunner hit it off in more than animal rescues? These characters are likable/lovable and very entertaining. You want them to succeed, to make it work. It was a heartwarming, tender, loving romance. It was a good read.

Sawyer is a young curvy girl working as a waitress and volunteering and an animal shelter who want to become a veterinarian. She meets Gunner, a co-worker, who is animal rights advocate. He talks he into helping him rescue two tiger cubs that are currently being kept by a exotic animal breeder so he can reunite them with their mother and sister at an animal park. They work together and fall into a loving relationship. A fun pleasant story that can be read in about an hour.
Phoebe Sweet’s prequel to her “Curvy Ambitions” series that has romance for those of us that like Curvy Girl stories. I look forward to the rest of the series.

Sawyer loves animals, especially the big cats. She works once a week and the animal shelter. She and her best friend Skye both started working for a new restaurant called "Wild." It's a really popular restaurant. They get a new employee called Gunner who works in the kitchen. Sawyer also shows him around the animal shelter as he loves animals like Sawyer. Find out what happens when Gunner asks Sawyer to help him get the two baby tigers. There is a big lie that Gunner is going to have to explain to Sawyer. Great fast story. Older man/younger women. This is the story of Sawyer and Gunner. Sawyer works at a new restaurant in town called Wild. She Is crazy about big cats and wants to be a veterinarian. She volunteers at the local animal shelter. She’s surprised to see Gunner there as he is the new guy working at Wild. As she’s training Gunner at the shelter, she sees how good he is with all the animals and it melts her heart. These two are attracted to each other especially when Gunner needs her help. I enjoyed this quick romance. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Super Fun Quickie!

Great characters that will keep your interest extremely well.
I'm not going to go into detail, no spoilers, just read the book if you are even mildly intrigued by the blurb. You'll thank me later!

The chemistry, sweetness, and twists in plot kept things interesting. Add in drama and passion and you have a good read.

Little did Sawyer know when she met the new guy that she was in for the wild ride of her life. Gunner is new at the shelter and restaurant as she gets him acclimated to his new surroundings. They have great dynamics and soon they can't keep their hands off each other, however, how will Sawyer take the news of the secrets Gunner is keeping.

What more could you want tiger cubs, puppies and love. A super sweet story about a soon to be vet and a ceo/animal activist. Older man with curvy younger woman. It has a bit of everything including super cute tiger cubs thrown in. Can’t wait for the next book.

Animal lovers will thoroughly enjoy this one! Sawyer loves the “big cats”. Well, she really loves all animals and would like to become a veterinarian and is a volunteer at an animal shelter. She and her roommate, Skye, both work at a new restaurant/bar called “Wild”. The company contributed 50% of the profits to rescue wildlife. It also paid the workers well and included sick days and healthcare. A new hire, Gunner, was an older guy who worked as assistant chef in the kitchen and Sawyer kind of liked him.

Laura, the vet who owned the animal shelter, asked Sawyer if she could show the new guy around today. To Sawyer’s surprise, the new guy was Gunner! She showed him around and the animals seemed to take to him right away. He told her about tigers he had seen up close in Asia as an animal rights activist. She was thrilled! She took him over to their grouchy dog Princess who had been abused – and she came right up to him! Sawyer already had a crush on the guy!

She heard from a co-worker that the CEO of Wild was coming for a visit. He had rescued many wild animals. One was a Bengal tiger whose cubs were stolen for the black market. Rumor said he was going undercover to try to find them! That sounded far-fetched, but gossip often did.

At their 9:00 break, Gunner asked Sawyer to help him rescue some tiger clubs from Floyd’s World of Wildlife. They had been stolen from the owner of Wild and Floyd refused to give them up, even through legal channels. All he needed her for was to sit in the truck and drive him out of there fast when he came out. Will Sawyer put her job at risk to help Gunner with this? Will she find out who he really is?

This is such a cute story about two people who are a perfect match for each other. The characters are likable and have very big hearts for animals. With two people so much alike, is there a chance Sawyer will give him a chance, despite his being older than she is?

ROAR is the first book in the Curvy Ambition series. Though Sawyer and Abby are sisters, there is no interaction between them in either story. The books could be read in any order.

I love the premise of the restaurant where Sawyer and her roommate, Skye, are working. The owner contributes 50% of the profits to animal rescue organizations. Add in that Sawyer has ambitions to study to be a veterinarian and volunteers at the local no-kill shelter and it is the perfect story for animal lovers and conservationists.

Gunner and Sawyer have one heck of a “first date” that quickly morphed into all of the big questions in life. Sharing their love of animals seems to break the ice to build the relationship neither saw coming.

Steamy, yet sweet, this is a quick read for someone who wants to skip the getting to know you phase of a relationship. I would have liked to have seen more character and plot development, but this is a (very) short prequel story.

Includes three epilogues allowing glimpses into Sawyer and Gunner’s future as they continue to live their happiest ever after.

If you love animals you will be delighted with ROAR. Sawyer and Gunner show us to what length some people go to in order for all animals are treated humanely.
