Trapped in an unfamiliar place far from home, Kate must confront a once-buried nightmare anew.
Kate's plans for a weekend getaway take a frightening turn when she suffers a car accident during a blinding rainstorm on a canyon road. Hitching a ride with a stranger is the first step in a journey that will bring her into a cat-and-mouse game with a mysterious figure connected to demons from her past.
John Coon, author of Amazon bestsellers Pandora Reborn and Under a Fallen Sun, spins a thrilling new horror tale in this exclusive Amazon short story.
Short and not so sweet. Nothing wrong with that. The story begins with vivid details of a car accident. Then things go downhill from there. Can't say too much without giving anything away. Other than being a tad predictable, it's still a decent read.
It’s a decent short story with some strong and promising portions, but it was a little simple and left me desiring more details. It was somewhat disjointed, but I feel that was intentional based on how the story unfolded. This would make a good read around a campfire. If you are in the mood for a quick horroresque tale, this fits the bill.
I GREATLY enjoyed this book! I don't normally read horror (because I'm a scaredy cat), but after reading In Hell's Shadow and a couple of other great horror stories, I'll be reading this genre more often. :)
In Hell's Shadow is very well written (I only noticed one typo), and the characters seemed well fleshed out for how little real estate the author had to work with. I loved that Kate knew who she was, and that she remained strong and determined throughout everything she was going through. I also loved the ending.
This was a fun, quick, engaging read. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!
In Hell's Shadow by John Coon is a short read so this will only be a short review.
Kate is on her way to see her friend and she is driving through tough conditions. She ends up in an accident and something bizzaire happens. She is led by a stranger that takes her back to her past. Will this be her new life?
This haunting story is well written and enjoyable to read. It is a shame it is such a short read because this story has the potential to keep going. Highly recommend it to those that like to get through books quickly and love a quick wrap up of stories.
A well-written ghostly tale that flowed wonderfully. Not the twists and shocks that I expected, but I did enjoy this. A short story that I wish could have been lengthened, such was my enjoyment. I will certainly read more from this talented author.
The ending is as freaky as the beginning. It would blow my mind to be in her situation. This is a well written short story. I recommend reading this to all that love fiction.
When Kate is heading to visit her friend Sarah she could never imagine a simple drive up a mountain to get there would turn into a car crash, help from a strange and much more.
This is a short horror story that has a story which works well, writing that is of a great quality and showcased an author who I will definitely be reading more from. The small markdown is for editing but it is not something that should put you off this gripping story.
