This book is very accessible, in short and easy to digest chapters (especially when reading after a full and exhausting day of parenting!). We originally read some of Rachel Biale's parenting advice in our local Jewish newspaper advice column. It was always a highlight of every issue, because of her style of warmth and direct recommendations that leave the reader with ideas, but not the sense of being judged. This is such a gift for us, as parents! So many books tell us what we are doing wrong or what we should do. This takes parents voices and questions and Rachel's kind and personal response. I feel like she is a coach really supporting our team. Rachel's writing includes personal stories about her own upbringing and parenting, plus wonderful examples specific to Jewish communal life. I highly recommend this book for parents, grandparents, teachers, and those who find caring and parenting infants, young children, and school aged kids a demanding...and rewarding experience.
