A loving portrayal of Chinese culture and people, and a gripping account of one woman's struggle to balance her love for her father against the Chinese Communist Party's demand for absolute secrecy and its effort to cling to power. The story provides a glimpse into the Chinese Communist Party's inner dynamics, politics, and cruelty and offers hope for a better China.
