Ryker lost everything she ever had on the Day of Ruin; her home, her family, and her pride. The fae took it all from her and one day they will pay.

When a privileged prince visits The Heathern Court, Ryker is willing to risk her life for a chance at the hope he offers. Prince Dace is as handsome as he is intriguing, but is he worth trusting?

Along with others, whose paths intertwine with their own, they reveal more conspiracies across Stylica. The fight for power quickly becomes a fight for their lives.

Ruined is book one in a slow burn paranormal romance series featuring fantasy creatures readers just can't get enough of. This series includes romance themes intended for readers 18 and over.

Truly riveting

The book did have it's flaws, but overall it truly captivated me and I ate through this first installment within a day. I thought that more backstory for the characters were needed, but the mystery was nice and hopefully we learn more about the Day or Ruin within the next book.
The characters were the best part, I found myself rooting for all of them. Rinsand was definitely my favourite side character, and I hope we learn more about him as well, in time. Overall, I truly enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone!

Ok Read

The story is unique but it is lacking in better world building, characters our back and forth so I was not sure what was what in some areas, does have magic, fae, nymphs, some action scenes, a twin pops in that I never even knew about and some sort of romance. Not sure if I will read the next book.

>Book Review – Ruined

>I am an independent reviewer. This book the 1st in the Ruined by Fae saga and ends in a cliffhanger. The reality in this story has Fae enslaving the Nymphs. The Fae also performs some kind of magic that nulls the Nymph’s powers. The enslaved Nymphs forget they were ever free over time. Ryker is a female Nymph, constantly getting disciplined for her poor attitude. During a meeting of the various Fae courts, Prince Dace notices Ryker and realizes she is the woman haunting his dreams. Prince Dace’s family are cruel to the Nymphs, but Prince Dace secretly helps them. The romance in this story is weak. Prince Dace has a Nymph he sleeps with, but admits he only loves his dream woman. Once he meets his dream woman, Ryker, he continues to sleep with the other Nymph. I felt his actions show he doesn’t know what true love is. The fate of Prince Dace and Ryker doesn’t seem so romantic to me when his actions do not match his feelings when he realizes his dream woman is real.

>There is a third storyline with the Fae spy, Milo. His backstory is only told in part. He wants to pretend to spy in order to escape his evil queen. He is a good person and tries to help the Nymphs, even though they distrust him. This book is appropriate for an audience. I am giving this book 4 stars. I wish the Mile story line was developed more and the actions of Prince Dace fit the romance I know is coming.

I honestly feel bad rating this so low, but after finishing it, all I can think is "it was okay." It didn't get me hooked and I highly doubt I'll keep reading the series. It's not that the story was bad, it just wasn't edited well. There was too much going on, but at the same time it felt like nothing was happening. I almost liked the characters, but I didn't quite get there. Ryker was obviously the most promising, but she was kind of bland and there is no excuse for sending her on a mission so soon. So much pain and trouble could have been avoided if a qualified rebel had been sent. And Dace was quite the disappointment in the end. If he wasn't such a selfish, horny idiot, he wouldn't have been missing at the absolute wrong time that ended up ruining everything. And then there was the other POV that shouldn't have been in the book at all. I get the connection that was made, but it didn't add anything to the story. The time-line wasn't clear either. Sometimes it was like only a few days had passed, but then other times it seems like it had to be weeks, if not months.

Being an indie author myself, I really try to give honest reviews when I read self-published books. I was excited to read this. The cover is beautiful and the formatting in the print book is very professional. Unfortunately, there are several issues with this book that are hard to get past. The author would greatly benefit from a copy editor. She switches verb tenses often, which is distracting. There are also several typos and misspellings throughout. Aside from the editing issues, I just didn't find the story engaging. I felt the pacing was off and the narrative was confusing. There was a lack of world building that made it difficult to follow along. I think this book has some serious potential. I liked the characters and was intrigued but sadly, the other issues just got in the way for me.

Set in a fantasy world, this intriguing story takes us on an adventure on self-discovery and a fight for freedom. The story is very detailed and keeps you on the edge of your seat. You have to keep pace with well rounded characters and the hope of love. Conspiracies will keep you guessing and the taste for revenge grows stronger in some scenes. I was sad when I reached the end as the story left me wanting more. What happens next? Will revenge taste sweeter? Can't wait for a follow up. Excellent writing!

I liked the idea of this book and world/character in it. Ryker is intriguing and I like her sassiness. At times, I was confused on whose POV I was reading and I felt there was a lot of background missing that left me unfulfilled. I am curious about what role Milo plays and to see what happens with Dave, Ganglin, Ryker and the other Nymphs.

Thank you to the author for a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

Slow build up to an epic start of a story!

This book was a little slow to start but once it got going I loved it. Ryker is a spitfire who wants freedom but also is fighting a battle within herself. She has three potential suitors, and I am rooting for all of them. Between fighting for the freedom of her people and her attraction to her three suitors, I don't know if there will be anything left of her when it is finished. Bring on book 2!!!!!!!

So I really liked the story, there are a heck of a lot of POV’s, but I could feel the difference with each one so it wasn’t as jumpy/jarring as it could have been. I really liked the idea of the nymphs and their culture, and the difference between them and the Fae. I’m actually giving it 3 1/2 stars, because there was a lot of missing punctuation. It would have really benefitted from a more careful pass for that, as I did find that aspect distracting.

I enjoyed learning about a new fae world with a new twist. The writing is captivating and had my reading the whole book in one sitting. It has alot of action most books I read like this would be spaced out into 2 or 3 books but alot happens just in book 1! I will def be reading this series as it comes out.

DNF @ 55%

This just wasn’t it for me. Plot was all over the place and a little confusing. End goal for characters wasn’t clear. Felt like I was missing a lot of important character info from the start. Multi POV but the one out of the three I just skipped over. Not a bad book.. just want my cup of tea ☕️

I had hoped for more

The premise of the book is ok, but it felt like nothing really happened, like all the good storylines are being saved for the next installment in the series. I like Dace as a character better than Ryker, but there's not much chemistry between them. Also, what part of this book was for an 18+ audience?

Yes I read this in 2 days! Loved it. Ryker is a great main character. I did get a little confused a couple times on the characters. There just seems to be so many introduced I couldn’t remember who was who. I will be reading the next in the series. Very much enjoyed this book.

Characters all seem to have split personalities. It’s very annoying to get whiplash every time they act completely out of character.

It was terrible. I couldn’t get into it. Then I just gave up. When I can skip 10 pages without loosing the story, then it’s not worth reading.

Huge storyline

Slot of characters and povs in the story with slot going on with them. I'm currently questioning the princes actions and the chest cannot wait to see what happens

Needed a short fantasy to get out of a slump and thought she’d do the trick. Unfortunately it was quite predictable and ended on an attempted cliffhanger. Not great but fine lol

Ohh I loved this book! I loved that we got different POV from the main players. Nymphs are slaves and the Fae have taken their powers away. But what happens when someone wants to give those powers back? It's just the beginning of the war with Ryker and her people. Excited to read book 2!

This was a good quick read for me, the story is really enjoyable, I just wish there was a bit more fill in as I felt the pacing was quite fast with no explanations.
I would also have loved some more background info! And more about the Day of Ruin… I will be picking up book 2 though as I’m curious to know what happens next so maybe we will get that! We have been left on a bit of a cliffhanger!
