I have loved dragons for a long time now. Anytime dragons come up in talks about them ever actually existing, it has to be said that there are stories of dragons in every area of the world. How did something made up become so universally known?

This book is a collection of stories about dragons from all different places and cultures. The illustrations are amazing.

The Reluctant Dragon has always been a favorite of mine, so I'm not going to pick that as my favorite. Instead I will pick Fran Bolovan. In this tale a childless couple gets a wish from a trapped wizard and end up with 100 kids. However will they feed them? Fran goes out into the world to make money or find food for her brood. She comes upon a shepherd that has a dragon problem and takes the task for hope of food and drink for her family. The way she tricks the dragons are amazing. I smiled so much reading that tale.

The book is chaptered off by each short story making it perfect for bedtime story or any time you read for 10 minutes to kids. This book will spark the imagination of any lover of fantasy.

Usborne Illustrated Stories of Dragons was the most recent Read-Aloud for my 2nd-grade class. Our mascot at our school is a dragon so they were so excited to read this book all about dragons. The most fun part was the stories were ones that no one me or my students had heard before. In this collection, there are seven stories about dragons from all around the world. We've talked about Folk Tales in class and they were able to point out several things that made these "Folk Tales". The other wonderful thing the kids loved was the fantastic illustrations that are throughout the book. They are impressive and beautiful. This book makes a great Read-Aloud because you can read one story every day and keep the children's interest. I know they enjoyed them and I liked reading them. If your children or grandchildren love dragons, then you truly need to buy a copy of Usborne Illustrated Stories of Dragons for your young readers.

This was a collection of interesting short stories about dragons from different cultures. The stories felt like traditional legends and folk tales. The illustrations were colorful and imaginative and added depth to the tales.

I would recommend this book for anybody who collects all things dragons. It could be good for reading to kids who don't mind the kind of violence and gore often found in traditional tales (lots of swordplay and devouring). The reading level is probably more for middle-school ages and up.

Probably my favorite of the Illustrated Stories of… collection by UBAM/PaperPie that I’ve read so far.

The Reluctant Dragon was my favorite story. The first half of the piece reminded me of Eeyore or The Hundred Acre Woods which created much nostalgia for me.

I definitely recommend to read aloud during family story time and for young, becoming-more-independent readers who enjoy fairytales, dragons, and happy endings.

I read this to my children (ages 3-10). My son (5) loved this and devoured it in two days. I loved the stories from around the world. The stories were not dark

My 5 yo got this for Christmas so I read it to him. The dragons were mostly misunderstood and there was not a lot of dragon fighting. A little bit disappointing for him.
