Ice Kings #3

Hooked on Her

Rate this book
Tessa Chauncy is the best kind of trouble. Beautiful, sweet and completely off limits. I’ve sat by and watched other men drool after her and forced myself to stay in check. Hey, I’m in the NHL... I have self-control in spades.

Except when it comes to her.

With the bat of her lashes and quick whip of that sharply pointed tongue Tessa can knock grown men to their knees. I’ve seen them wither and crumble under her confident stare— something I’m pretty sure she learned from sparring with me, thankyouverymuch.

But I’m not just falling for her. I’m down for the count.

She’s the girl I wanted, when wanting her was wrong.
She’s also my new roommate--
And oh yeah, my best friend’s little sister.

Heaven help me, I’m probably going to get his fist to my face or his hockey stick shoved in very dangerous places for what I’m about to do, but I don’t think I care anymore.

I’m in love with my best friend’s little sister….and I’m done waiting.

Hooked On Her is my new favorite in the Ice Kings series! Stacey Lynn gives the story of Jason and Tessa in this book. Tessa finds herself living with her brother and his girlfriend which is less than ideal. Enter Jason with plans of winning her over and getting Tessa to stay. This friends to lovers is a sweet easy read. Jason is totally swoon worthy and I'm a huge fan of these hockey romances!

4 Timing is Everything Stars
* * * * Spoiler Free
Timing Is Everything, No, Really It Can Be. How many times have you felt, being in the right place at the right time made all the difference in you achieving your career goals, your getting that apartment, or even meeting your partner... See, you know what I am talking about.

Stacey Lynn takes this idea and runs with it.
She gives us two people who haven't been in the right place to act on their feelings for each other...for years. Either being the little sister of the best friend, or she lived in another country and you were pursuing a career that wouldn't allow time to nurture it, or the brother would probably kick you in the nuts if you did...

And then there is the obstacle of her having a guy...one she was engaged to. So the timing was just not working for this couple.

But then things happen, like the man who was engaged to our gal turns out to be a stealing, disgusting thief, stripping the apartment and bank account. This leaves her needing a place to stay until she can regroup. This brings her to her brother's home he is now sharing with his new girlfriend. It also brings her to see the best friend of her brother she fights and bickers with all of the time...

Now our guy has decided this is it. This Is His Time. He is going to go for it with this woman no matter what.

And he does. But he may be an Alpha, sexy and hunky, etc., but he sometimes doesn't know how to say what his heart is telling him. Things kinda get twisted and with the history, they have with each other, it can be hard for our gal to trust her feelings.

This worked and was a slow burn. The two of them have hurdles to overcome, but in the end, their timing is finally right.

Jason and Tessa have had feelings for one another for a LONG time but they haven't acted on them, why you ask, well it's because her brother is Jason's best friend and Ice Kings teammate...you know "Bro Code" and all that.

I need to start this review by stating the Stacey Lynn is quickly becoming a favorite author for me. I love her stories. I love her characters. The dialogue she writes flows and is engaging. There is not forced in her story telling. There is a natural evolution to how the characters get to their HEA.
Hooked on her is the 3rd book in the Ice Kind Series, however it can be read completely on its own, but if you even just sort of like the Hockey Romance Genre do yourself a favor and read the other books.
Tessa and Jason have danced around each other for a decade. Normally they fight and argue like wet cats. Tessa is coming of a breakup with a total dbag. Tessa normal resides in Toronto but is in NC visiting her brother Sawyer and his live in Girlfriend Debbie. Sawyer is also a hockey player for the Ice Kings and best friends with Jason. Tessa’s ex has wiped out her savings, taken all her possessions from her apartment as she was leaving for her mini vacation to visit her brother. Jason has decided he has waited long enough to let Tessa know how he feels.

Jason’s character is not very smooth. He does not have the words or the personality to simply woo Tess. Jason totally keeps sticking his foot in his mouth making it hard for Tessa to accept the idea of them as more than friends. The evolution of the relationship has its moments of tears and laughter.
This is a Friend to Lovers Romance, but also Friend’s little sister. This is a trope that isn’t really my favorite but because I love Stacey, I went in hoping it would be good. I am so glad I did read it. This was a slow burn romance but once it gets hot, it gets hot. This was a 5/5 read for me. I really enjoyed this and highly recommend it.

I really enjoyed this story. Truth be told, there aren’t many books by this author I haven’t enjoyed to some degree. I like her voice and style. Her characters are always strong and easy to like and root for and her storylines make sense. So yeah, I guess you could say she’s a go-to author for me depending on what I’m in the mood to read.

Tessa and Jason have history. You could call them friends depending on your definition, but mostly they’re frenemies LOL until one day/moment in time when the stars align and the timing is right there for someone to finally make a move to more!! It’s a sweet, humorous, sometimes a bit bumpy ride but so full of heart!!

I can say honestly that this story could be read as a standalone with no problems, but this series is just so darn swoony and happy that I can’t help but highly rec for you guys to read all the books. It’s worth the time!

Hooked on Her is the 3rd standalone book in Stacey Lynn’s Ice Kings Series. This is the story of Tessa and Jason.

The Brothers Best Friend trope is one of my favorites and add in hockey romance and I’m 100 percent there! This was my favourite out of the Ice Kings novels. Stacey Lynn has penned an emotional, steamy hockey romance that I devoured in one sitting. I could not put it down. The tension and chemistry between Tessa and Jason was explosive and addictive.

Tessa was living in Toronto and discovers her ex has cleaned her out. Taken everything! All her belongings, furniture, and even her bank accounts. He is a cheating, drug addicted jerk who needs to be taught a lesson.

I loved Jason’s take charge attitude in his protectiveness over Tessa but also in the bedroom. So steamy! Jason had some obstacles in his way of getting a chance with his best friends sister and now that circumstances have changed he will stop at nothing to make her his.

I love all the Ice King hockey men. They are a family and all have each other’s backs. Stacey Lynn’s writing is phenomenal and can’t wait to read more in this series in the future.

Amazon / Apple Books / Amazon Worldwide / Nook / Kobo / Google

When Jason offers up his guestroom to his best friend's little sister, aka the woman he's long held un sibling like feelings for, it's his time to let her know just how he feels about her. Is Tessa ready for another relationship? Coming off the heels of a disastrous breakup from a douchenozzle?

Although she and Jason have always bickered and have barbed, snarky conversations more often than not, Tessa's not really surprised to find he's a great guy once she starts rooming for him. But is she ready for what he wants? A new relationship? Heavy on the feelings?

This is a sweet, fun story and Tessa and Jason are definitely a hockey power couple. He's so freaking swoony once he decides he's done messing around. And Tessa is perfect for him with her sass and wit and huge heart that's as big as Jason's. Aww...I've been liking this series, and after these two? I love it.

i was super excited when i heard that this was brother’s bsf & forced proximity! the plot, the pace & the overall book was enjoyable but i felt as thought the characters lacked A LOT of communication. while i can understand her point of view, tessa’s character frustrated me A LOT. this is a great book if you’re looking for a quick & entertaining read, but i believe the character’s development could’ve been a lot more

This is the third book in the Ice Kings series and I’m absolutely loving these books. They can be read as stand-alones but I recommend reading them all anyway because they’re just that good!

After breaking up with her douchebag boyfriend, Tessa finds herself crashing at her brothers while she gets a plan together but it’s soon clear that’s not going to work for long. No one wants to hear their sibling getting it on and with no other options she finds herself taking Jason up on his offer of a place to stay. Jason has always had a thing for Tessa but he’s never made his move. Jason is Tessas older brothers best friend so they’ve known each other for years. She’s always had a bit of a crush on Jason but nothing she can’t handle...right? Shes not expecting Jason to feel the same, or for him to be so determined to win her over. Jason is in this for the long haul. Tessa may be his best friends little sister but now’s his time, he’s not going to let her go back to Toronto without at least letting his feelings be known.

I loved Jason. You’ve got to give it to the guy, he’s willing to try whatever he has to, to get Tessa to stay. I think I’m halfway in love with Jason. He’s hot and sexy, sweet and caring. He might not always have the right words to say but his heart is always in the right place. Tessa is another brilliant character. She’s sassy, witty and confident but she’s reluctant to jump into anything after what her ex did and I got that (although I wouldn’t have had her restraint when it came to Jason).

This is another brilliant book from Ms Lynn. She’s quickly becoming one of my go to authors and I definitely recommend this book (and series). I can’t wait for more from the Ice Kings.

Hooked on Her is a great addition to the Ice Kings series.

Tessa is down on her luck thanks to her ex. She’s staying with her brother, Sawyer, and his girlfriend on a vacation, but thanks to her family she decides to make extend the stay. Enter in Jason. Her brother’s best friend and teammate and her secret crush. He offer’s her a place to stay. What’s the worst that can happen?

I felt for Tessa with everything going on thanks to her jerk of an ex. However, due to those events she has a much better future ahead of her. I love the relationship she has with her brother. She loves and supports his hockey career, plus gets along great with his girlfriend. Jason has been friends with Sawyer forever, he has also been crushing on his little sister for almost as long. However, timing has never been in his favor. I loved his determination, especially when it came to Tessa.

Jason and Tessa have loads of chemistry. I love their connection to each other, they have a history together. They both have secretly been wanting more with each other, but never took that next step. There was so much wasted time between them, but they don’t waste any more time making it up once they fully give in to their chemistry.

I loved this book from the moment I started reading it and I’m glad there was little glimpses of characters from the previous books in the series. If you love hockey romances or best friends little sister romances this one is MUST READ!

What began as a waltz morphs into a tango. Tessa and Jason have a bond that was years in the making, yet they never seemed able to get it right. When life throws them the chance, will they finally step up to the plate? Lynn blows hot and cold with highly electric results. Hooked on Her goes from zero to sixty and zooms away with more than just hearts.

Left with literally nothing, Tessa needs to start over after a disastrous end to her engagement and there is no better way to pick up the pieces than to go and stay with her older brother. The only problem is the feelings she has always had toward his BFF Jason. But when Jason offers his extra bedroom to Tessa will this make or break her hopes and dreams? With adorable characters and a feeling of hope this was a great read.

Jason has been in love with his best friends little sister for years and had to watch as she dated other guys. After Tessa has just been screwed over royally by her ex she ends up going to visit her brother while she tries to decide what's next for her. Unbeknownst to her, Jason has already decided he's going to be a part of that and more than just her brother's best friend.

This was a super cute story that didn't have a lot of outside drama which I appreciated. It was realistic as Tessa found her footing with her new life and had to try to trust herself again. Jason was all in and let it be known from the beginning. He wasn't one to play games which I felt was refreshing. I loved the push and pull between the two characters as they navigated this new path between them. I have not read any of the other Ice Kings books, but was able to understand everything happening and I will have to go back and read them because I enjoyed the way Stacey wrote all her characters. The romance was sweet, there were little disputes to show that not everything is going to go perfect all the time and the steam didn't take over the story. If you are looking for a cute little read I would suggest this book!

Hooked On Her is another great book in the Ice Kings series by Stacey Lynn. I enjoyed the plot of the story and how everything unfolded. The premise for the story really caught my attention from the start and I was glued to the pages of this story.

Jason and Tessa had a story to die for. I love a good best friend's little sister storyline, so this story was perfect for me. I loved the chemistry that sizzled between Tessa and Jason and that their attraction blossomed from friendship into a relationship.

Stacey Lynn has done a fantastic job with this story. It was very well written and I really enjoy this author's writing style. I look forward to following what’s next in this series.

This book had so much potential..
******

Annoying heroine.
She had a crush on the hero for years and didn't think she had a chance with him. He was her big brother's bestie.

Up until now I liked her. She was funny and made me grin a lot with her sarcasm.
So, my hopes were high.

But,
The moment the hero told her he had feelings towards her too, instead of embracing the situation she suddenly got cold feets and a lot of tantrums and unnecessary stubbornness just because he showed her his feelings.

Her actions were ridiculous, really.

She played hard to get while the hero was so sweet and sincere and understanding towards her.

Just frustrating stupid insecure drama queen.

Jason has been in love with his best friend and teammates little sister for over a decade and has sat back watching her from afar as other men drool over her. When Tessa arrives in North Carolina after her ex-fiancé leaves her with nothing, Jason starts to put a plan together to keep her there by offering her the chance to work with the team and move in with him so that she does not have to live with her brother. Tessa can not believe what is happening to her. First, her fiancé leaves her with nothing and then her teenage crush offers to let her live with him and tells her that he is done waiting for her and is going to prove to her that he has wanted her for as long as she has wanted him. Tessa decides to move in with Jason and apply for the job with the team but is not sure if this is the best decision she's ever made or should be hopping on a plane back to Toronto.

Hooked on Her is a best friends sibling hockey romance which brings us back into the Ice Kings world. I was laughing through most of this book with Jason and Tessa's banter and sexual tension. Their connection was steamy and addictive which had me glued to the pages. I loved Jason's protectiveness over Tessa and that they finally got their HEA after a decade of secretly pining over each other. This was my favourite of the series so far and it was great to head back to North Carolina and connect with the Ice Kings family and I can not wait to return to the series in the next installment. I definitely recommend this series to anyone who likes hockey romances.

3.5 stars. Hooked on Her is a pretty good book. This is book three in the Ice Kings series and is Tessa and Jason's book. Tessa's fiancee turned out to be a con man. He stole all her money, furniture and belongings and skipped town. Tessa goes to stay with her brother, a pro hockey player, and tries to get her life back on track. Her brother's best friend since they were teens is Jason, who plays on his hockey team. Tessa has always had a crush on him and Jason has been interested in her as well, unbeknownst to each other. For the first time in a long time, they are both single so Jason decides to shoot his shot with Tessa. She is very reluctant at first but eventually gives in to him and the two soon fall in love.

This is a good story and writing. Jason was swoon worthy. He is pretty close to perfect, not a man whore, sexy and patient with skittish Tessa. I liked him a lot. It took me much longer to warm up to Tessa. I understood that she was reeling from her ex's betrayal but Jason was who she crushed on for years. She was reluctant to his advances for well over half of the book, making it a bit too angsty and slow burn for my taste. Tessa's pushing away and prickliness towards Jason became annoying and left me wondering why he even tried with her. Still, after almost 2/3rds of the book, she finally gave Jason a chance and after that the rest of the book was much more enjoyable. Once Tessa gave in, I really did like her. She and Jason were a great match. The book was entertaining and the ending was cute, too.

Overall, Hooked on Her was not a bad book, but is not my favorite by Ms. Lynn. Still, I did enjoy it and I was happy Tessa and Jason got their HEA. I look forward to more from this fun series and Ms. Lynn in the future!

He's watched her from afar for a few years now, constantly having to fight his urge to make a move and claim her heart. But he is growing tired of waiting for his girl, and now that she is single and staying in the same town, now seems as perfect time as any to finally tell her how he feels.
But what happens if she doesn't feel the same way, or she decides to return to Canada?

Between the pages of Hooked on Her readers will meet a couple that has longed to be together for years now, never knowing how the other truly felt. But now fate, and Tessa's jerk of an ex-fiance, have given them a fair shot of seeing where their feelings and attraction could lead them. Tessa is completely down on her luck and Jason is determined to make her feel loved and wanted, and help her forget her no good ex. But Tessa has her reservations about jumping head first into another relationship after just ending one, and putting their friendship in jeopardy... but Jason is determined to not let them fail. He went to great lengths to sneak his way into her heart. (It didn't take long for him to steal mine too!!) I loved every single second of this little journey, the feisty banter, shameless flirting, emotionally charged passion, and of course the heart-squeezing romantic stuff too.... it all helped to make it a thoroughly satisfying tale! Highly recommend!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.

Stacey Lynn gets a hat trick with the third book in the Ice Kings series HOOKED ON HER. In this story, Tessa Chauncy moves to Charlotte to be near her brother Sawyer. She becomes the roommate of her teenage crush, Jason Taylor. He also happens to be her brother’s best friend and teammate, therefore, off limits. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult readers. The story takes place around the same time as book two, Scoring Off the Ice.

Tessa is a lovable heroine. Her ex is a piece of work that caused her to torment. Jason is the brother of Jude Taylor from book one, Playing to Win. He is a great guy. I adored all the things he does for Tessa. I love Tessa and Jason together. They were both attracted to each other but steered clear of each other because of Sawyer. They bickered constantly. I love that they get an opportunity to be with each other.

Hooked on Her is the perfect addition to the Ice King series. It has become my favorite book in the series. The characters faced interesting obstacles. It is skillfully written and engaging throughout. I appreciated how it overlapped with Scoring Off the Ice. I am looking forward to the next book in the series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

I love a determined hero! That's got to be my favorite part about this light and steamy romance. Our hero has been crushing on his best friend's sister for nearly a decade, and he has no plans to miss his shot this time around. It's sexy, very low angst, and reads quickly. If you're not caught up on the series, it's definitely not a problem because this easily stands on its own. I've been enjoying this series - Lynn plays on the tropes we know and love, making for low angst, kinda sweet, reads. And while there were a couple of elements to the backstory that weren't my favorite, there was nothing major holding me back from enjoying this best friend's little sis romance.

The story follows Jason, a hockey player who has wanted his best friend's sister since they met. Back then, Jason was just starting his career, traveling too much to start up something new, and Tessa lived in another country. It didn't stop Jason from wanting her (or Tessa from wanting him), but it was not the right time to make his feelings known. Fresh off of a broken engagement, Tessa's whole life is up in the air and she's come to stay with her brother while she figures things out. It's still not the ideal time to start something - and Jason knows this - but he's done waiting. Making his intentions clear from the start, Jason is determined to finally get his girl.

There's a lot about this that I loved - how well these two know each other, the strong feelings from the beginning, Jason's determination. It's got all of the elements of a great read, and I've always enjoyed Lynn's writing. I knew going into this that it would be low angst and easy, which it definitely is. It does feature a backstory that's not my favorite; Jason's had strong feelings for years, but he's been biding his time with one night stands, and Tessa just got out of a serious relationship (even though she's also had a longtime crush). They're essentially in love when the book begins, so it's always irritating when two people with real feelings let a decade go to waste. It wasn't enough to detract from the story, but certainly isn't my ideal scenario. Ultimately, it's a solid story and a great addition to the series. I'm looking forward to seeing what's next! I received an ARC via Social Butterfly PR and am voluntarily leaving a review of this steamy sports romance.

I haven’t read many sports romances. But when I read the book description of  ‘Hooked On Her’ I knew this was a book I wanted to read. There’s just always something about best friend’s little sisters romances that I really love.

Right from the very first page I was pulled into this story of Tessa and Jason. Tessa has loved her brothers best friend Jason for a very long time. But he has always been out of her reach. Over the years she has seen him with a lot of different woman. And since she was always just the ‘little’ sister Jason acted like another brother to Tessa. So Tessa has tried to move on. But now her ex-boyfriend messed up her life really bad and she decides to stay with her brother for a little while. But Jason has never thought of Tessa as just a ‘little’ girl. He always wanted her.. but never could have her. Now he is done watching her with other guys. He is taking a risk and goes after what he wants.

‘Hooked On Her’ definitely was a fun read. I really loved the chemistry between Tessa and Jason. It was sweet, sexy and really fun to read. I also really thought it was pretty obvious that Jason was into Tessa, but maybe that’s just me. LOL!

Jason’s character was one I really enjoyed. He really worked hard to be the best in what he did. And I loved how he worked to get Tessa attention. Sure he could have been a little more clear about what he wanted, but his actions where very sweet. And the fact that this story’s point of view alternated between Tessa and Jason, really worked perfectly.

Tessa’s character was not my favorite though. I don’t really know why.. but I just didn’t really like her most of the time. You get to read about how much she wants Jason, and the next she doesn’t want him or something? It really confused me and I wanted to shake her multiple times. Luckily, in the end I began to like her character more.

The sports part in this book wasn’t really on the for front. But I loved the sports elements that where in there. I’m not a very sporty person myself, but I always love the whole idea of being a professional athlete. And I definitely loved Jason and his teammates.

Although ‘Hooked On Her’ is the third book in the Ice King series, it can easily be read as a standalone. I did. And this book worked perfectly as a standalone. The only thing it did was make me want to read the other books in the series too.

I must start by saying that I read books without order again, I think I have become a spoiler myself hahaha, this is the third book in a series and I must read the previous ones soon.

I liked the story, it's not one of my super favorites but I think it fulfills its function of entertaining and keeping you reading for a few hours.

I personally felt that the story didn't quite grab me as I read how Jason did everything to convince Tessa to move not only to another city and country but to her apartment with him. I didn't feel much of a connection and rather felt like at first he wanted to organize Tessa's life and didn't give her much space and time to think about and decide what she wanted to do after what had happened with her ex. Tessa's brother and his wife weren't much help either since they were constantly interfering to make her decide to stay with them and they even used the baby to convince her.
I would have liked Tessa to make her decisions more freely and without so much pressure, but after living with Jason that's almost impossible.
I liked that even when they tell how much they are attracted and want each other, nothing happens and everything flows slowly but with a sexual tension that makes the story keep you trapped and wishing for that moment to finally see them together and happy.
The fact that this whole story takes place with hockey and strong, handsome boys is undoubtedly a plus.

I'm looking forward to taking some time to read the previous books and I hope it's soon :)

What do I expect from this author? Excellence.
What did I get from this book? Excellence.

You can never go wrong with this author. She’s got it. The characters are funny. The situations are almost real. What Canadian girl doesn’t like hockey players?

Jason in this book was one hot MF. Delicious. Smart. Funny. Delicious... did I mention that already? Lol.

Tessa has had a difficult few years. A horrible stint with her last boyfriend who stole everything she had when she broke up with him. Like literally. Her cleaned out her apartment and bank account and left her with zero. No furniture no money.

After going to visit her brother who is a huge name hockey player in the states her feelings for her brothers long time friend resurfaces and the weird thing he’s liked her forever too. The only thing stopping Jason before was the idiot ex boyfriend. So naturally Jason goes for it 💯 and winter take a not for an answer.

These two are the cutest thing ever. Seriously I love all Stacey Lynn’s characters. It’s so enjoyable to read. Stress free but still full of emotion.

Oh and it says that this book is the third in the series but they are all standalones. You won’t be lost. And you’ll want to check out the other books in the series when you’re done. Yes her books are that good!

I really enjoyed Tessa and Jason.

This book was really funny. The inner dialogue of both of the characters was hilarious in a lot of places and their conversations and interactions with the secondary characters were really enjoyable and gave an excellent window into the personalities of both of the main characters.

I really loved that he was all in but also still a little unsure about the relationship. And I loved that Tessa was willing to call Jason on the things that he did that made him jump to conclusions or overreact. There's a scene that's really heartbreaking as you know what she was trying to do, but he takes it completely wrong...and, well, it's not only a really great scene to move the story forward, but also one to call back to and show the growth of the relationship.

I also really believed in the relationship. I loved Jason at the beginning, when he decided he was done waiting and denying what he wanted. And, he let Tessa know, more than once and directly. While it still took a little and the story allows you to watch the relationship build, you definitely know where he is from the very beginning.

Friends to lovers can be excellent, or they can struggle a little with the transition. I though this one balanced the transition in a really strong and realistic way.

Overall, I enjoyed and recommend this title.

4.5 Star review Hooked on Her (Ice Kings #3) by Stacey Lynn

Stacey Lynn is a relatively new author to me. I quickly became invested in the story that Ms.Lynn wove and cannot wait to read more in this series. This is Tessa Chauncy and Jason Taylor’s story and it was an entertaining read that ticked the boxes for me.
Having been badly burnt and left with virtually nothing by her ex, Tessa turns to her brother Sawyer for help. Jason has been attracted to his best friend Sawyer's sister for sometime but she has no clue and ironically Tessa has always had a crush on Jason.
I loved the chemistry that sizzled between Tessa and Jason and that their attraction morphs from friendship into a relationship. I could easily see myself being friends with Tessa and Jason was totally swoon worthy. I also liked that Jason was prepared to push Tessa out of her comfort zone and was there for her and supportive.
Will Jason be able to convince Tessa to take a chance on him? One click and find out.

Listen. I had a hard day.

Today I had to put down my beloved cat and have been sobbing nonstop. So I wanted something cute to distract me from my misery.

And did I get that here? Nope. And why (especially since this book has a very straightforward plot with little reason for drama)? Because fucking Tessa.

This bitch.... She’s one of my least favourite types of heroines. I’d like to brand them as TSNTGBS: Too Stupid Not To Get Bitch Slapped

Now let’s explain a little about why she’s such a colossal moron with a victim complex shall we?
Tessa has been in love with her brothers best friend since she was a teenager. Apparently they’d bicker a lot to hide her feelings (can’t confirm since it was never actually shown).
Some of her life (not all, because she’s surrounded by wildly supportive people and jobs that don’t exist in real life) is a mess, and now she’s around the object of her teenage heart, Jason.

Turns out! Jason is just as in love with her and she is with him!

Wow!

Book should end here right? Quick little “hey luv u” “hi luv u 2 uwu” bang bang bang the end?

Nope.
Because Tessa isn’t the hero of her own story, she’s the victim.
Can’t deal with the love of my life loving be back because !!! I had a bad relationship several months ago!! I’ve got a house situation that could be easily rectified by not being a stubborn little asshole and accepting her brothers help!!!
IT’S ALL JUST TOO FAST!!!

Girl what the actual fuck. She spends so much of the book whining about how hard it is to have him whispering all those sweet little nothings she so desperately wants to hear.
Wah it’s so hard to get what you wanted!!!

I’m stopping this nonsense after 75% because I can’t listen to this girl victimize herself, demonize Jason, or whine at the universe anymore!

What I like the most about this series is how every hockey player, their wives and girlfriends feel like a very close family. They are all very supportive of each other, but they won’t back down from criticize when needed and help to improve their problems.

And poor Tessa, really need the support. After her ex fiancé steal all her possessions plus her baking account savings in Toronto, she goes to her brother’s Sawyer home in Charlotte for some much needed break. There she find Jason, her brother’s best friend for a long time and hockey mate, and her dream guy since the first time she saw him when she was teenager.

Jason has been harboring a strong feeling for her for many years, but she was never available. Now she was finally single and close to him, there was no one or anything that would stay in his way to win her over. I was in love with him. He was upfront with her with his feelings and from the beginning I could feel how much he loved her, he was patient and seriously move the earth to make things better for her. All he wanted was Tessa in his arms forever and fully moved from Toronto to Charlotte.
100 times swoon.

I’ll be honest, I spent a long time reading without understanding what was going on in her head. For all her life she had dreams and fantasies about Jason and being together with him. Now he was all in and she had doubts? Was running away from him? I was really frustrated about some of her behavior.

Good thing that he never gave her up. And finally she figured it out her issues in her head and put her fears away, because once they are together, oh my, they were perfect and sweet and everything good in the world - and the chemistry? Wow!

I liked the ending it was really sweet and clearly showed their future, but I wish they got a closure with her ex, I wanted to say what happened, if he got caught, if she got her personal things back... but we get what we get and I loved the book as it is.

Jason Taylor, first line player of the Ice Kings Hockey team, has wanted Tessa for as long as he can remember. But it’s never been the right time. He was either too busy building his career or Tessa was unavailable. First she was too young, he was just starting his NHL career, then she was engaged....Now she’s visiting her brother and he’s not stepping aside and missing out on the opportunity to woo Tessa. He helps to find her a job and even offers up his extra bedroom until she gets back on her feet. But it won’t be easy to win her heart as she’s just broken off her engagement. Oh, she’s also his best friend and teammate’s little sister.

Tessa has just arrived home from work to find all her belongings GONE. Her former fiancé has stolen everything, including what little she had in savings. Tessa turns to her brother for comfort and he flies her out for a visit. While there, Tessa’s life-long crush, Jason drops hints that he may now see her as more than her brother’s little sister. Tessa, however, isn’t easily persuaded as her ex has really ruined her trust in men.

Jason is fun, flirty, caring, sexy—ALPHA all the way! He sometimes steps in without thinking and doesn’t always allow Tessa to work out her problems on her own, but he’s a quick learner. Their chemistry was sizzling! I loved that Tessa’s brother was so supportive of their relationship. Although this is a “hockey” novel, it was really more of a “best friend’s little sister” novel. LOVED it! I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.

Reviewed for A Wanton Book Lover Blog

Hooked on Her by Stacey Lynn is the third book in the Ice Kings hockey series. This is the story of Jason who has had a crush on his best-friends little sister but never acted on it. Last he knew, she was engaged but that has suddenly ended with her ex-finance' stealing all her things. Tessa is due to visit her brother decides that since she has nothing holding her back in Canada, she might as well visit before the busy hockey season starts. Tessa has secretly had a crush on Jason but honestly didn't think anything would happen between them; he was best-friend of her older brother and she was okay "loving" him from afar. When an opportunity rising, Jason offers Tessa an extra room at his apartment to stay in while she figures things out. Tessa soon finds out another thing she needs to "figure-out" is how she stands with Jason because he has shown his intentions and he wants it all with Tessa.
I really liked the Ice Kings hockey series and Hooked on Her was just as good as the first two books. The chemistry between Tessa and Jason was HOT. And when Jason makes-up his mind to tell Tessa how he feels about her, he is all in wanting her forever.

I received an ARC for review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I love Stacey Lynn’s books, and she has a way with words that run as smoothly as a steady stream. The Ice Kings are believable and relatable. This one is no different.

Tessa Chauncy has just been super screwed over by her ex. Left with nothing in her house, but a few canned goods. Thankfully she has an amazing brother Sawyer who lets her come hang out with him and his girl. Hoping to get back on her feet, she also realizes she will be around her oldest crush, Jason Taylor.

Jason Taylor may be BFF with Sawyer Chauncy, but he has the most impure thoughts about his little sister. Now that Tessa is here in Charlotte, he sees this as his big chance to let it be known that he wants something with her. Knowing he has to find the balance between pushing her out of her comfort zone and not pushing her so hard, she wants nothing to do with him.

Will Jason find the balance and get the girl or will Tessa flee back home to Toronto and forget about Jason once and for all?

I was able to read this book in a day. Tessa would be my BFF. I mean, who doesn’t like butter chicken and naan, it’s so freaking good. Also, I completely understand her hesitation to start something with Jason. She got out of a bad relationship and had everything she owned stolen. I think she handles things better than I would have. Also, I think it helps that Jason was there. He was pushy, but a good push. I would have pushed back in the ways Tessa would have, and yea, I would have argued with Jason just like Tessa did as well. Though I loved Jason’s alpha ness, he was written manly. He didn’t give up on her and was brave enough to apologize for some things, but not for everything.

I highly recommend this book and the other books in the Ice King series. I can’t wait to see what else happens. I am especially interested in Sebastian Hendrix.
