I've always believed that love was hard, and when you found it, you held onto it with everything you have. That wasn't the case with Ryan. Loving him was easy, but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't hold onto him. Because I wear a crown. And he's a single father raising a child...five thousand miles away.

Leddy Harper had to use her imagination often as a child. She grew up the only girl in a house full of boys. At the age of fourteen, she decided to use that imagination and wrote her first book, and never stopped.

She often calls writing her therapy, using it as a way to deal with issues through the eyes of her characters.
The decision to publish her first book was made as a way of showing her children to go after whatever it is they want to. Love what you do and do it well. Most importantly Leddy wanted to teach them what it means to overcome their fears.

4 Star Review Throne Away by Leddy Harper

Leddy Harper is a relatively new author to me but what I have read, I have found to be well written with characters that are easy to relate too and fun.
This is a Cinderella story with a difference. Ryan is a single father, a commoner who after a chance meeting falls for Princess Moria who is soon to become the Queen of Ilunabarra. However Ryan has no idea who she really is and when she stands him up is disappointed.
Ryan decides to visit the island that holds so many great memories and sets off with his adorable daughter on an adventure. He is shocked to run in to Moria, even more so when he learns that she is about to become Queen.
The banter between them had me laughing out loud at time. The characters were entertaining and you cannot help but become invested in Ryan and Moria's story.
I really loved how swoon worthy Ryan is, I just loved everything about him, particularly his relationship with his daughter. Throne Away is a romantic love story that left me with a smile on my face.

Royalty meets a commoner is right up my alley and Leddy Harper did not disappoint. As I read Moira (I love her name) and Ryan's story I couldn't contain my giddiness because I always want the underdog to win.

When Moira meets Ryan he has no clue as to who she is and of course she doesn't offer up the information. I could feel the immediate connection between them and I continued to hope that they would make it. Ryan main priority is his daughter so he feels he has no business trying to hope after he meets Moira. I felt that they both had big obstacles that they needed to overcome if they were wanting to have a chance at this thing called "love".

I'm not going to give away anymore because I want you all to get lost in Ryan and Moira's story. Stories like these are why I love reading and will never give up on love. Kara~5 Stars

One of my favorite tropes is Royalty Fiction and that's what drew me to Leddy Harper's new book "Throne Away". Normally the royal type stories that we read are the guy is the Prince or King and the female is the commoner that they fall in love. Throne Away by Leddy Harper is a reversal of roles as the male is the commoner - Ryan and the royal figure is Princess Moira. The book starts with Moira who has managed to escape her security for her last night in the US and is standing on the pier. From the outside, it looks like she is about to jump which is where Ryan comes in as he tries to save her. The pair then go off for a coffee and there is a connection as Ryan doesn't know she is Royalty. The next day Moira goes back to her real life and Ryan's ex-wife turns up. The book then jumps to weeks later and Ryan and his sister-in-law Mandy and his stepdaughter Amara are on the trip of a lifetime in Illumbra. This coincides with the announcement of Moira taking the throne as next in line. Ryan and Moira reconnect and have an amazing week. During the week, they learn they have met not once, nor twice but three times prior. During this week, the pair fall head over heels but as Moira is set to be Queen, she is supposed to have an arranged marriage. Are fate and destiny playing with her heart by putting Ryan in her way or will reconnecting with Ryan help Moira to stand up to her parents and finally set her destiny into action? Find out in this meet-cute royalty romance - Throne Away by Leddy Harper.

I will read anything that Leddy Harper writes without even reading the blurb. If she writes it. I will read it. I was so excited to read Throne Away because of the whole royal family aspect of this one. Throne Away is a fun, sweet read that is about a Princess and a commoner who meet by chance on a pier. They were nothing more than strangers but felt a connection right away. They had just one day together before the Princess had to go back home. But their thoughts of each other were never too far away. This is a story that gives you the fairy tale feel, and I loved it!!!

Moira and Ryan meet by chance. She is a Princess who is to become Queen of the island of Ilunbarra in a few months. Ryan has no idea who she is or where she is from when he first meets her. And it isn’t until he takes his daughter on a trip to Moira’s country that he finds out her true identity. They are both surprised to see each other, and he is shocked to find out that she is a princess. But at the same time, they are both happy to see each other, even if spending time together will prove to be difficult. They must sneak around and hide their “friendship” from her royal family as well as the rest of the Island. They both know that when Ryan leaves I a week that their relationship will end. But that doesn’t stop them from spending time together. In spending time together, they come to find out that maybe fate has brought them together. Maybe them meeting on that pie was destiny’s way of saying they belong together. Unfortunately, though they both have responsibilities and there doesn’t seem to be any way that they can be together. Or can they?

I adored this story and the characters. Ryan and Moira are just so cute together and from the moment they met you felt that connection. While they only knew each for a short time, their relationship and love didn’t feel rushed. It honestly felt like it was just the opposite. Their story is one of true fate and destiny and that is one of the things that I loved the most. It was the little things that they discovered and the way the kept meeting.

I loved the relationship between Moira and her cousin, how loyal she wa and how much she wanted Moira to be happy. But it was also Ryan’s daughter Amara that made this story even more special. It was how much he cared for his daughter and how she was his first priority. But it was also how much Moira cared for her as well and what she had done for her. Leddy Harper did a great job with this story. It is a wonderful story about fate and destiny with a fairy tale feel to it.

Moira feels the weirdest sense of déjà vu when she first meets Ryan. And when they find that actually have a connection from their past, it feels right. All except for the tiny little detail she's been keeping from him, a detail that can prevent their entire relationship from being.

Throne Away is one of those sweet, lighthearted reads that sometimes you're just in the mood for. I really enjoyed it and thought Ryan and Moira were a great couple, made even better by the addition of his adorable daughter, and secondary characters like Patrick and Libby. I'm used to royal romances being a bit more angsty and heavy, but I appreciated how sweet this one is.

This is a fun entertaining Cinderella with a twist read, in this story Moria is the princess who is about to takeover as Queen of Ilunabarra and Ryan is the commoner who also happens to be a single dad.
A chance meeting on pier has this couple wondering if fate is pushing them together because she is from the small island that Ryan spent so many happy holidays in his youth and when Moria stands him up the next day he realises he needs to show his daughter the Island that holds so many fond memories what he doesn’t expect is to find the girl he has just met is about to to takeover her royal duties and become Queen of Ilunabarra........
As Ryan and Moria spend time together they realise they have met before and that maybe it’s fate that’s pushing them together but fate doesn’t change the fact that she is royalty and he is a commoner from another country .......
This is a book that has all the feels, it’s romantic, it has adorable characters and a plot that will have you swooning and sighing as this couple fall in love. It’s about soulmates with a fairytale twist and I recommend it to all romance lovers. Entertaining fun read.

I've been waiting for this ever since I signed up. The blurb did me in, plus it was from Leddy Harper—one of my go-to author.

This is a reverse cinderella story with a twist. Ryan was the commoner and Moira was the crown princess poised to takeover as Queen of the small island nation of Ilunabarra.

The book is basically about destiny... That what is meant to be will always find it's way. To be honest it started a little slow for me, and picked up somewhere round the middle... it was like they were dancing around each other for a long time and just won't jump in and take a risk...

Overall, I enjoyed the story because it had Hallmark feels and wish someday I'll get to see it made into a movie. I also low-key wished Daniel is really is alive and just living amongst common folks in another country or state.

If you're looking for a feel-good story about soulmates and destiny with a royal twist, then this is the book to pick-up next.

This royal romance was nothing like the ones I usually read. In this story our female lead, Moira, is the royal and our male lead, Ryan, is a single father. This unusual twist is what made me pick this book up.

Moira is Princess of Ilunabarra, an island country. After her brother’s death she finds herself on a pier at the States, her brother’s favorite place. Fate has it that she’ll meet Ryan and her whole life will change form that instance.

Ryan is a photographer, struggling to support himself and his little girl Amara after his wife left him. While takings photos at the pier, he sees Moira and he thinks that she’s about to jump. He’s instantly mesmerized by her even though he doesn’t know that she’s really a princess.

Their relationship was doomed from the start. Each of them has responsibilities in a different country. However, if it’s meant to be life will find a way. There are too many chance encounters to not realize that Moira and Ryan are soulmates.

The story gave me a fairytale feeling, like there was magic pulling these two together. I finished the book with good thoughts. I’m glad that I picked it up; it was a nice change form what I usually read!

Royal romances are a guilty pleasure of mine, and I absolutely adored that Moria was the one that was the queen-to-be and her love interest, single dad Ryan, was the commoner. Such an excellent role reversal!

Moria and Ryan have a chance meet encounter, and they immediately feel the connection between them. Circumstances keep pulling them apart, while coincidences keep pushing them back together. These two have amazing banter -- which I adore in my romances -- and Ryans adorable little girl and his ability for swoon, I was hooked until the very end!

If you are a lover of Leddy's books, and want a nice escape from the craziness of the world, this is the book for you!

A fun read, the story of Moira and Ryan. They have a chance meeting in his home town, and then she stands him up the next day. He hasn't recognised her and she is glad, but all is revealed when he turns up on his holidays in her home country.

As they spend more time together they begin to realise that this is not the first time they have met, so is fate trying to getht them together? Her life is planned out for her, with no room in it for a single father from another country, so will they get a chance at a happy ever after?

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for a voluntary and honest review.

This book is an unusual take on a royal romance, the royal wasn’t a prince, but a princess unwilling to take the crown. The commoner, she falls in love with, is a single dad, whose wife left him and who lives thousands of miles from her country.

These two unlikely lovers meet without knowing anything about each other and fall in love.

It was beautiful to read how Moira and Ryan met, fell in love and overcame the obstacles on their way to their Happily Ever After.

A Princess and a commoner; Moira and Ryan have the star crossed lovers vibe going on. Life will always keep bring you back to the one you are meant to be with. It is up to Ryan and Moira to recognize fate will lead them to love. Harper did a good job in world building and had many subplots going on to push the story forward.

Moira is a Princess, soon to be queen, mourning the loss of her brother when she meets Ryan, a single dad. While she feels an immediate connection to Ryan, she has other responsibilities to contend with. As the relationship grows, they both realize that there is a series of connections that can’t be explained by anything but fate.

This book painted a lovely picture about two people finding there way to each other in the most unlikely circumstances and at the same time, knowing that you’ve found your person, but life circumstances make it virtually impossible to follow your heart.

This book had a good storyline with characters that were easily like-able and relatable. I would definitely read more books from this author in the future.

Overall Grade: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Leddy Harper’s Throne Away is the first book of hers I’ve read. I was drawn to it because it has been some time since I’ve read a royalty romance. Even more, the blurb promised a different take on it. It includes a single dad trope, and it sounded like a challenge to embrace.

Thone Away has some great qualities. Harper invests us in her characters with their trials. Ryan is a single father; his wife is manipulative and, quite frankly, a con-artist. He sacrifices his comforts for his daughter, showcasing a portion of his heroic nature. However, there is something almost effeminate in Ryan’s characterization. I’m used to reading romance heroes who take charge and know themselves. Harper hasn’t crafted Ryan in that manner. He is most dominant in the bedroom, but those moments are few in this story. What happens as a reader is you feel as though you want Ryan to act more stalwart. He makes a decision about his wife that seems confusing and anemic. He simply accepts their situation instead of deciding better for himself and his daughter. Even in his dealings with Moira, he reads as confused, a bit dorky, and too accepting of a situation instead of acting heroically to protect and claim Moira. Thankfully, Harper utilizes the character of Libby (Elizabeth), Moira’s cousin, to remedy the disconnect between Ryan and Moira. That being said, Ryan finds himself eventually, and Moira and Ryan’s journey at the end of the book is the best part of the story.

Now, Moira’s characterization is also problematic. Like Ryan, she is too accepting of her situation. She doesn’t want to be queen. She makes that clear from the start of the story, and there are plenty of people who decline to take the throne. Yet, Moira doesn’t decline out of some obligation to her parents. However, her relationship with her parents doesn’t speak to readily accepting her position. She vacillates between choosing her own future and choosing the one set before her. It takes most of the story for her to reach her decision, but it is only due to her cousin (again) that the story finds its appropriate resolution. I questioned Moira’s ready acceptance because it seemed counter to her characterization.

What I believe Harper does well with this story is show Moira and Ryan’s eventual evolution. Both of them appear to easily accept their circumstances without pushing back for the first two-thirds of the story. When they finally realize the power of their coupling, Harper allows them to make decisions for themselves. Until that moment, however, their journey is puzzling.

Even more, Elizabeth “Libby” is probably the best character in this story, and she needs her own book. This is someone who doesn’t wait for life to happen to her. Instead, she knows her value and the value of the people who surround her, and she asserts herself to bring about the happy endings of this story. I would have loved for Moira to have this same joie de vivre. It would have made her more heroic, I think.

Has Leddy Harper written a spin on the royal romance in Throne Away? Yes. For one, the royal is the heroine, and the hero is your “Average Joe.” Is there a moment when it’s possible these two won’t end up together? Yes. It is only through the machinations of Moira’s cousin that Ryan and Moira can find their happy ending. And that ending is quite sweet. The most heroic character in this story isn’t Ryan and Moira, and I’m hoping Harper grants her the book she deserves because Throne Away gave us a little glimpse of her power and potential for her own happy ending.

How random are random meetings? Do we randomly meet people in our lives, or is the meeting orchestrated by some higher power? Throne Away is not like any other royal romance I've ever read, and all of the coincidences -- or not -- between Ryan and Moira and the times their lives have crossed paths are fascinating.

I absolutely adored this story. I binged it in one sitting before I went to bed, and the tale was still with me the next morning. From the moment that Ryan and Moira meet on a pier, I was completely captivated by their connection and their chemistry. He is an American photographer and she is the princess of an island European country -- they had no business being together, but they kept running into one another. With Moira, Ryan could forget that he was the single dad whose wife left him, and Moira could pretend she wasn't a princess.

Moira's situation is heartbreaking. She never expected to be next in line for the throne, and she desperately wants anything but that kind of life. And with Ryan, she sees a glimpse of the life she craves. But he can't move to Europe for risk of losing custody of his daughter. Their pasts brought them together, but their presents are keeping them apart.

There's a twist that enables Ryan and Moira to ultimately be together, and it was one that I didn't see coming. Bravo! And that HEA left me with a big smile on my face. I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book (given by the author)...

I was really interested in this story, how would a future queen and American single dad make it work?

Unfortunately, this book fell a little flat for me and I never really got lost in the story. I really did like Ryan, Amara, Mandy and Libby, but I couldn’t connect with Moira who only seemed to complain about her situation throughout the entire book. The book did have romance but I feel it focused more on Moira’s royal duties more than anything and it dragged a bit.

It’s like everyone knew how it was going to end badly, but didn’t try to stop it yet we’re surprised that it ended badly. In my opinion, Moira was never treated like an adult let alone a queen and her family didn’t listen to her at all. Then with the whole family twist reveal at the end, it was a bit much and I just couldn’t believe this was an “adult” romance felt more like teenage romance.

The ending was sweet, but the epilogue didn’t reveal much about Moira’s relationship with her family or Patrick. What really happened with Carly? How was Libby doing?

I have always enjoyed Leddy Harper's stories, but I have to say, Throne Away is her best book yet!

Leddy is known for her fun-loving, witty characters. This time, though, she's taken a different turn and given her readers a royal romance with characters that you will instantly fall in love with. The storyline surrounding Throne Away was breathtaking and I could literally feel Leddy's heart and soul pouring out through Moira and Ryan. The writing is superb, with each chapter alternating between Moira and Ryan's point of views. I literally felt like I was vested in this story, feeling every emotion and heartbreak, while waiting to find out if the two of them were going to get their HEA.

Everything about Throne Away is worthy of five stars and Leddy should be proud of this story. I'm not sure if she has plans for another royal love story, but this is what Leddy is born to write about!!

When Ryan sees a woman looking alone and emotional, he can’t just walk away but he never expected the intense connection and chemistry that he would feel for her. They make plans to see each other the next day but the drama and demands of their lives doesn’t allow that to happen so instead he wonders about what could have been.

Moira is the heir to the throne of Ilunabarra so as much as she is drawn to Ryan she has responsibilities that she must fulfill. She never expected to see Ryan again but when he happens to be vacationing with his daughter in her country destiny brings them together once again but finding out she is royalty wasn’t part of the plan.

Moira is conflicted between her love for Ryan and her loyalty to her family while Ryan’s past is intruding on his present. Although there appears to be no solution for Moira and Ryan somethings are just meant to be when especially when it comes to matters of the heart.

Throne Away by Leddy Harper
“Again and again, 5 stars”

I adored Throne Away. Ryan and Moira couldn’t be more opposite if they tried. He’s a single dad just trying to get by and she’s royalty. When they meet, they click right away, then they run into each other again, in another country. I loved it. But because of Moira’s life as a royal she can’t be with Ryan. Not only is he not from her country but he’s a single dad. Then again, she’s never been one to follow the rules.
These two were the sweetest. Harper made me fall for not only the couple but the kingdom Moira’s family rules. I didn’t want the story to end. I cannot wait to see if she writes Moira’s cousin a story. Ryan’s daughter was so sweet and I just wanted to love on her. If you enjoy single parent romances and royalty romances then look no further.

I was given this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I really enjoyed this book. I liked that this story was the reverse of the typical royal romance.

This is a story of a princess that falls in love with a commoner. I especially loved that their story seemed to have begun well before when they met “for the first time”.

When Ryan says “my GPS kept leading me to her,”. I knew he and Moira were meant to be.

The author did a wonderful job of interweaving Ryan’s previous marriage and daughter into the star-crossed relationship involving Moira becoming the future queen.

I highly recommend!

What I loved most about this book is the way it’s so different from all of Harper’s other books. I was drawn in immediately from the first page. As I read, I needed to know how Moira and Ryan’s story would end up, turning the pages quickly to get to the end but at the same time, trying to savor it as I read.

I loved the role fate played in this book, how many connections Ryan and Moira shared without realizing it.

While I loved Ryan, Moira made an impression on me, the way she finally stood up for what she wanted, in the end choosing what was best for her.

Another Harper hit. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next!

Everyone wants to be a princess right?

But what about a queen? What would you choose, being. Queen or the man whose crosses your path and makes you question fate?

Two different worlds, two different futures but only one Destiny.

Not your everyday Princess story but what a beautiful story of hope, live, fate and chance.

Leddy always seems to suck me in and keep me page turning, she has a way with words and this book is no different.

Messy has one again show herself of what an outstanding written she is. Her way with words, story concept and giving the reader a beautiful addictive read has once again been delivered

How many times do you see someone and think you've met before? Have an instant attraction, and comfort level that normally requires years.
Moria starts her journey far younger than what you are introduced. She's lost her brother and just wants to feel connected to something.
Ryan is a photographer. His favorite sets are of natural beauty, sunrise, sunsets, oceans, anything that nature gives.
A chance meeting, a unusual attraction and an unbreakable bond.

Loved this book. I'm more use to this author's humor and you do get that but I loved this style of her writing too.

Do you believe in fate and soulmates? Moira believes her path crossed with Ryan's because they are soulmates. There's just one small problem that prevents them from being together. Moira is a princess and about to be queen of her country. It's an obligation she does not want, but she knows she has no choice. Ryan lives in America with a young daughter, and his own set of problems.
I loved this couple and rooted for them to find a solution. It was obvious they belonged together. Another masterpiece from Leddy Harper!

Loved this twist on a Cinderella story. Throne Away by Leddy Harper was flirty, romantic, definitely swoony and so fun to read!

This Cinderella story has a major twist since our hero, Ryan, is a single dad, a commoner, and has no idea who Princess Moira is. I think the twist was really well done and the chemistry and banter between the MCs was just spot on. I found myself smiling so big at some of their exchanges. But truly, I melted for Ryan. He was such an amazing hero and I became a puddle of swoon at how good of a dad he was to his daughter.

This was such a fun read and it left me with a big smile on my face. Most definitely recommend it.

I loved this!! I liked the fact that this had a lot of background info tied into the story, but it also had an HEA without cliffhangers. Ryan has had a tough marriage which really made me feel so bad for him, but when he meets Moira he falls in love which was so amazing! It was crazy too that they have met multiple times before too without realizing it. So happy with the way this book turned out!! Leddy Harper has done a fantastic job once again with writing this spectacular book!!!

Throne Away is a fun and emotional read that will give you all the feels! Its a forbidden royal romance with amazing characters and an addictive storyline. I immediately fell in love with Moira and Ryan's characters. Their story makes you wonder how many times you cross paths with someone before you really meet them and makes you think about fate and destiny. The plot twists and turns kept me hooked till the last page and the secondary characters are a perfect addition to this story!

This book, this book! It was so beautiful. A story about fate and Destiny and love that is truer then true. My heart was so invested in Ryan and Moria being together that I think it shattered about a hundred times. Ryan is such a strong amazing guy. Moria has the strength of a thousand warships but the weight of a country is heavy on anyone's shoulders. The story end way to fast for me. The plot WAS SO GOOD. The characters were realistic and believable..

A great read that kept me hooked to the end. My favorite Leddy Harper book to date!
