There are somethings in life we should never do. For me it is accounting of any sort, type or variety. For me reading Booking Keeping Essentials for Dummies was an important gap that i needed to fill as i develop an understanding of how business works and how the books of those businesses are managed or mismanaged in some cases.
Veechi Curtis was able to transfer this information in an understandable and quite often hilarious way that allows someone like me to keep pushing through the mud of content through to the end of the book. I cannot say that it is a great book to read because let's be honest it is bookkeeping. Veechi Curtis keeps the subject matter in check and maintains a standard throughout the book that says that she is an expert in her field in every sense of the word.
Do not place this book on your to-read list unless you want to become a bookkeeper, or you need to fill a gap in your knowledge base. I was glad i chose the book and i was even happier to finish it. The subject matter might be dry and dull, but Veechi Curtis' quality of work will hold you to the end.
Great book for newbies like me who'd forgotten all the bookkeeping they'd'd been taught 60 years ago. Well written by a personable author. Recommended.
