Throw Me a Bone

Why does romance have to be so doggone complicated?

My life was pretty great, if I do say so myself. I had my dream job where I got to work with my best friend every day, and a loyal furbaby that I spoiled rotten. What else could a girl want?

Well…s*x, for one thing.

But the Mr. Right Now I picked up at the bar took care of that.

Oh, how he took care of that…

No names exchanged, no strings attached. Just a wicked, hot, one-night stand. Perfect, right? A win-win for everyone involved.

Yeah, not so much.

Because as it turns out, my one-night stand is Micah Barnes, heir to a fortune, and part owner of the big box pet retailer who wants to run my sweet little dog lovers’ boutique out of business.

Now everything is a mess. I’m going to have to work like a dog to stop big business from invading my small town and wrecking my future…all while trying to keep my mind—and my hands—off Micah.

Wish me luck. I’m gonna need it…

This is a well written book with strong characters and an entertaining story line. She gives Lauren and Micah a strong connection and weaves a fun and humorous page turner that had me hooked right to the end.

He rescues her in a bar, pretending that they're married. And they extend that pretense to his hotel room. No names, no personal information, just a good time. The next day, they're both at the city council meeting. She represents her canine boutique and other local, independent business in the downtown area. He represents his big box pet store, the one that will directly compete with her and possible put her out of business. Let the games begin. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Gus, Lauren's Yorkie rescue, is a total scene-stealer. Lauren and Micah are wonderful together, when they aren't fighting. They fall into an easy banter from the time that they meet. They have a few obstacles to overcome - his sister butts in where she doesn't belong, there's an accident in her shop, they're on opposing sides of a civic issue involving both their companies. But the love of a good dog gets them to their happy place.

Lauren is the owner of a small business who is in danger of being driven out of existence by the potential location of a big box store nearby. She is frustrated by not only that but by the drought that her meeting with Micah at the bar one evening when she is hanging out with her bestie, Kelsey, who she also works with gives her a night to feel smug about. Until she realizes that he is behind the coming of the big box store. The course of true love does not run smooth but it is fun in this book and really - who could ask for anything more? Gus is her dog and he is a character.

From rescue in a bar to hotel fun. no names, no numbers, no expectations. What could possibly go wrong.
Well for starters the night was more than they excepted.
the next day well that brought these very familure strangers into a very awkward position.

See Lauren is a small town business owner ( Pet Store)

And well Micah is BIG BOX (Pet Supplies) See the dilemma.

Since when he saved her in the night before he pretended to be her husband. The romance takes a whole new turn, humorous, serious and down right romantic in a pet friendly way.

Lauren owned a small dog boutique and Kelsey her friend cooked all of the doggy treats for their furry customers. They went to a bar to nice evening and Lauren met Micah there and they had a one night thing? But Micah worked for the opposition coming in the area that caused quite few problems, then she had a fire and her friend got hurt. But Micah had bought the building that her business had been in and became her partner in the business and in life. New author it is going to get more of her books.

Really glad I discovered her work.
Micah is just fantastic, how he saves Lauren in Bianchi’s, I think every woman would love and want that!
Their love doesn’t run smoothly but it was more than worth the read!

My review is based on an ARC of this book.

Throw Me A Bone is well written and very fun to read. I enjoyed getting to know Micah, Lauren and especially Gus. Any book with a hot guy and a happy dog has got to be good. This is my first book from this author, but I am looking for more.

Ok so this is a sweet story of a passionate couple who can’t keep their hands off each other yet are on opposite sides of a pet store “big box store vs. locally owned”. Add into the mix a yorkie named Gus, and you have a great read.

This story was so incredibly sweet. I loved the roller coaster of emotions and rivalry experienced throughout. The instant chemistry was amazing but coupled with the desire to compete made it moreso!

This was a good book. I’ll read any book with a dog and hot guy and this one didn’t disappoint. It had a good story with a few laughs and some heat to it.
