Philip Edward Thomas was an Anglo-Welsh writer of prose and poetry. He is commonly considered a war poet, although few of his poems deal directly with his war experiences. Already an accomplished writer, Thomas turned to poetry only in 1914. He enlisted in the army in 1915, and was killed in action during the Battle of Arras in 1917, soon after he arrived in France.

This is a fascinating account of the love for Wales that the author holds for his homeland.
We hear of myths, legends, the beauty of the countryside.
There is even a section of the book describing the rich culture and changes of the flora and fauna of the seasons and it's attendant weather in the form of a monthly diary.
This is a charming and whimsical account of the old Wales of the past and as a fellow Welshie I thoroughly appreciate it.
