Bear shifter, Mac Winter, has spent his life supporting his family after his father died. He’s watched his brothers find their mates and couldn’t be happier for them. That doesn’t stop Mac longing for a mate of his own. A woman to share his life with. To raise a family with and to grow old with. When Saffron walks into his life, he knows instantly she’s the one. But his mate has secrets. She needs his help and he will do whatever it takes to keep her safe.
Mac Winter is everything Saffron wants and more. So much more. But giving in to the intense feelings she has for him isn’t possible. Not now. Not when she’s promised to care for her sister and her nephews. Her sister who is fading away right before her eyes. Her sister who is dying of a broken heart. However, when Mac reveals he is a shifter, she can’t deny herself, and fate, any longer. And maybe Mac Winter holds the key to unlocking her sister’s broken heart and helping them all start a new life in Bear Creek.
Mac – Winter – Shifter Seasons contains a heart warming happy ever after. Why not visit Bear Creek and find new family and friends to spend some time with?
Harmony Raines loves to write romance filled with magic and love. Her men are usually not so alpha, but they know how to treat their fated mates, or alien lovers well.

Just my way of saying thank you for giving my books a try.
‘Mac’ is the perfect wrap-up story for the ‘Winter – Shifter Seasons’ series (we’ll move on to the ‘Spring – Shifter Seasons’ with ‘Kelos’ next). I’ve loved this family of bear shifters with three brothers staying together with their mother after their father’s death. Mac stepped up as the eldest and held everything and everyone together – along with the expected brotherly teasing and tussling since he’s the oldest. The sawmill has been a lifesaver for them and recently Mac’s brothers have found their mates and their happy ending. He’s happy for them, of course, but longs for the day when he finds his mate as well. That day has finally arrived and it’s going to be a bit complicated.
Yes, a little bit complicated when it comes to talking about Saffron since I don’t want to give away spoilers. Saffron and her sister, along with her teen and pre-teen nephews have just moved to Bear Creek after her brother-in-law’s death (or his disappearance since they’ve never found a body). Nina is broken-hearted over her husband’s fate and is fading fast. She’s not totally convinced he’s dead which is why she insisted on moving to Bear Creek where he grew up. What she hopes to find here is a puzzle to Saffron – one that meeting Mac will slowly be unraveled.
I had such a good time with Mac and Saffron. Mac deserves all the happiness that Saffron brings him and more. There are a few twists in this story but nothing that took away from two mates finding each other in the most unusual circumstances. While the ‘Winter’ storyline may be wrapped up we still have the ‘Spring’ to look forward to with Kelos’ story starting us off – I’ve long wanted to know more about that dragon shifter. I’ll be waiting for that release for certain. If you love a good shifter tale then I’d definitely recommend this series – or any story within this world.
I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
This is a cute shifter romance, with a likable couple, but it suffered from a lack of character development. I wanted more background on both Mac and Saffron, but especially on Saffron and her family. It gets 3.5 stars from me, rounded down to 3 stars.
I won't give spoilers, but I really liked a heartwarming scene with Saffron's family near the end of this story. That scene was sweet, and was enough to make the book worth reading, all by itself.
I liked both Mac and Saffron, and thought they were good together. I liked how they both automatically accepted each other's family as their own, and that Mac and his family wanted to help Saffron's family. I also liked that the other shifters that worked with Mac wanted to help, too.
I did think it was a bit unrealistic when Saffron's terrible mom changed so much at the end of the story. A woman who had always been that difficult would not have changed so suddenly or so much.
My rating system is below. 1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it. 2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws. 3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating. 4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one. 5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.
I've been a fan of Ms. Harmony's for a while now and nowhere can you see why than in this book. Although it can be read as a standalone book, there are characters in this book from the first and second books of the series.
Eldest Bear shifter Mac has spent most of his life taking care of his Mom and brothers after his Dad passed away. Wanting to give them a better life and a place to call home, he and his family moved to Bear Creek several years ago and took over a failing saw mill.
Recently, both of Mac's brothers have found their soul mates. While happy for his brothers, Mac yearns to have a soul mate of his own. He's just about given up hope when he suddenly senses the presence of his Mate. Can he convince Saffron that shifters are real and that in spite of her sister 's heartbreak, loving him will be worth the risk?
Saffron has taken a huge gamble moving her sister and nephews to Bear Creek for a fresh start, especially since she doesn't know what to make of her sister 's recent revelation that her nephews are will be turning into bears any day now. Shifters are just a figment of her sister's delusional depression right?
But that all changes when Saffron meets Mac for the first time. Who is this man who captures her senses and makes her feel like the most desirable woman? Can she trust what she's feeling when the last thing she needs is another complication in her already complicated life?
Can Mac convince his Mate to take a chance on him? What happens when the past catches up with Saffron? You'll have to read to find out.
What a brilliant end to the series of the winter brothers. The last brother Mac was still looking for his mate but was losing faith that he would find her until Saffron walked into his life. Saffron had just moved to Bear Creek with her sister Nina and her two boys Wes and Jonas. Nina’s husband has been reported as dead after when he was on a rescue he got caught in the avalanche however a body has never been found but Nina still believes he is alive as she can feel him she is his mate. Saffron is looking after her sister and nephews as Nina isn’t doing well after her husbands death but asked to come to Bear Creek for a new start, Evan Ninas husband came from here also she needed to find a bear shifter to help her nephews as they need help when they start to shift. Saffron gets a job at the sawmill and finds out she is Macs mate. Mac has promised to help her nephews and her family is his family. The first time Wes shifts is when his grandmother turns up and threatens to take them away as she doesn’t feel Nina is fit as they believe they are bear shifters. Wes runs away Saffron rings Mac who with his brothers track down Wes. Saffron helps her sister through the trails to her son. Mac finds Wes but also another bear shifter Nina recognises the bear as Evan. Saffron looks on and after a while Wes and his father manage to shift back. Saffron can’t believe how her life has changed in a couple of days finding the love of her life and seeing her sisters family reunited. The Winter boys all have their mates now and are complete.
Mac is the oldest brother and has yet to find his mate. He is thinking about leaving for a little bit after his brother's double wedding. Saffron meets Kassia while looking for a job in order to provide for her sister and two nephews. Kassia proceeds to take her to the sawmill because Mac needs help in the office. When Mac senses Kassia coming up the drive he also senses his mate. Saffron doesn't really want love. Her sister lost her husband due to an accident and doesn't want to lose herself to the pain, heartbreak and depression that her sister is going through. These two know that family is the most important thing. Can they help each other to see the lighter side of things and help her family heal? Harmony Raines's books bring joy and happiness to my life through her heartfelt stories. Bear Creek is my favorite town in this series.
Mac has found his mate, and what a woman she is. Saffron has moved to Bear Creek with her sister and two nephews to be closer to their father's childhood home. I will not say any more than that, because you just need to read this yourself. This story has only mild action, but is chock full of character development. I loved it and feel it is a worthy story for the man who kept his family together after his father's death. I am so excited I see what happens next in Spring!
Fast pace - hopeful tone - character oriented storyline with some steamy scenes - vivid and appealing characters. I loved it. Read these in order, or start with Bear Bluff and Bear Creek box set and the Return to Bear Bluff box set, Return to Bear Creek box sets and single titles and other series. Many are of slightly older, silver-headed main characters. Enjoy!
I do love visiting this authors world. An enjoyable read with an emotional storyline and likeable characters. Once again I enjoyed the communication between Mac and his bear side. Not as humorous as other books but then Mac is the eldest and has placed more expectations and responsibilities on his own shoulders. Pretty much played out as I expected but the family interactions with the negative mother spiced this up a bit. Hope we get more time with this family group in future books. Bit rushed in regards to explanation of Evan’s ordeal but the story was about Saffron and Mac. Nice the Kelos will have his story up next. I was kindly offered this book for an honest review but chose to read it through Kindle Unlimited.
Mac has been all about the business since his dad died. In a matter of one month, both his brothers have found their mates. Could it possibly be his turn next? Saffron has been taking care of her sister and nephews since her brother-in-law went missing during a rescue. Her sister keeps talking about the boys being Bear Shifters, is she delusional or is this really possible? Max needs an assistant, Saffron needs a job! Can a Shifter, and someone who knew nothing about them until recently, really make a go of this? This story is sexy, sweet and exciting, enjoy!
I was so excited to see the email alert this morning that Mac's story was available. I loaded it on my kindle immediately. What a wonderful way to fill my day. A very emotional read with more than one happy ending. Mac gets more than a PA with Saffron. He gets a mate another sister-in-law and her two sons. And the cruise group got a little larger as well. The Winter Family has grown by leaps and bounds. I wonder what part they will play in Kelos upcoming story.
Love the Harmony Raines shifters. The characters, male and female, are strong, passionate, protective, and cuddly. Love that perfection is relative and most have perceived flaws (goes back to beauty is in the eye of beholder). Values, family, community, trust. Beloved characters which carry from book to book. This is a stand alone book but so fun when read as a set (yes, I have all 4 books) and many characters were first met in the Bear Creek series (I have also read and loved). Bravo, Harmony Raines!!!
This is a reread for me and have always enjoyed the three stores of the Winter men and how the stores are interconnected. One point I have to bring up…When Mac takes Saffron to dinner at the Happy Bear Bar, it was stated that Jake was one of the co owners. The 4 owners of the Happy Bear are Gunner, Patrick, Killian and Jason (not Jake). In reference only, the character of Jake was oldest Harrison brother in the 3 part Three Silverbacks and a Baby, where they adopted Milly.
All her books are Happy Endings, but this one is even more so! Always a great mood lifter. This one features the last of a family of bear shifters to stumble across his mate who is the worried sister/aunt who has brought her family to Bear Creek in hopes of helping her sister heal from the devastation caused by a missing husband. They are not shifters, but the near teen nephews will be. Lots of drama and angst but all's well that ends well!
Book was not long enough but they never really are! I enjoy the Characters that you create. It was nice to see the family reunited. So fun to have all of the brothers married in same ceremony and to imagine that 3 women would actually agree to that yeah oook. Lol most want their own day to shine after all they only get one wedding unless they don't. We all know shifters mate for life. It was a cute story.
I will, and have, kick another book off my Kindle rather than putting a Harmony Raines book on my to be read list! I'm so glad Kelos book is next. I hope some of my "old friends" from Bear Creek pop in to the story. Bear Creek is a place that I love to "visit" again and again.
I am a sucker for happy endings and the Winter's brother sure deserve their happy ever after. After going through life with their own fears, along with their mother Sue they made it through. Finding their mates was a joy for each of them and their beloved mother, and now with an extended family all is well in Bear Creek...loved it..big fan as always Winzie19😊💞🌺.
I've enjoyed all the "Winter..." :books and have enjoyed them all. This book tells the story of Mac, the oldest of the Winter brothers. He meets Saffron who is his mate. This story also tells the story of Nina who is Saffrons sister. I'd certainly recommend this book In fact I'd recommend all Harmony Raines books
This review is for all 3 books. Three lonely men having given up on finding their mates, 3 lonely women having given up on love. And the adventures begin. I honestly tried to read all three books in one night( they are that good), but I could not do it. All the lost sleep was so worth it. I loved the stories.
Mac and Saffron what a caring couple. Mac took care of his family liked Saffron cared for her sister and nephews. The story was strong in family . There is a mystery, love of family, drama , getting stuck in bear form. Just a few things happening in the story .
Mac didnt think he'd meet his mate. Then Saffron walks into his life and he knows. Saffron is newly moved in town. She's helping her newly widowed sister and 2 nephews. Saffron finds in Mac true feelings and great surprises.
This story brought tears to my eyes. I loved Mac and Saffron. I also loved the secondary characters. Looking forward to Kelos' story!
Exactly as my title states, I couldn't put the book down and read until 2:15am. I loved even though it was a quick romance there was still such depth of emotion. The story was so packed with emotion and adventure I didn't want to put it down. I'm looking forward to Helos story. He seemed such a thoughtful and gentle character.
Gotta love those bears. I've thoroughly enjoyed each book in this series. So much action. I love the characters and how the author inserted the grief and believe Nina had for her mate. There's a little bit of sexual content but not much. I'm ready for Kelos's story. . .
Good read. Nice plot. Believable characters...feel good storyline. Timeline was confusing at times editing could've been a bit better but this is no English class. I enjoyed it.
Thoroughly enjoyed reading Saffron & Mac's story very much. I love reading a happy ever after story it makes my day. Thank you for writing this story. Eagerly waiting for Kelos's story.
I love reading harmony books always full off love and fun and always have same characters going through her bear creek books Mac was a great character and his brothers were always their for each other would recommend for readers who like feel good books
Great story! I love all of Harmony Rained stories. I look forward to reading Kelos story. I have never been disappointed by any of Harmony's series. The are all filled with mystery, adventures and deep love!
Mac is the eldest of the Winter brothers. His brothers have found their mates. Enter Saffron, she is looking for a job to help support her sister and nephews. Once these two meet, love and surprises blossom!!!
Most of you know I love Harmony Raines and all of her books.
This book is great. It's about a family who meets a family of shifters, there is a love story, there is a shifting of a youngster and their is the finding of the father they lost.
For Mac and Saffron demonstrate just how important family is. Saffron learns to believe in the unbelievable and help her sister and nephews be strong, all while finding her mate and finally standing up to her mother.
I really like Harmony Raines books. They are cute quicker feel good reads. There is usually action, adventure, and a HEA. Thoroughly enjoyed reading Mac's book and this rounded out the brother's stories nicely.
