Okay so I finished this a couple of days ago and my mind has been so busy the last couple of days so this book isn’t TOO fresh in my mind but I remember I loved it. Also I cried. The angst here is so so good and the characters are so lovely.
**Giant spoiler alert**
Basically, Harry and Louis are dating, they get into a car accident and Harry gets amnesia. He doesn’t remember Louis and Louis decides to make it easier for him by not telling him about their past. Louis goes away and tries to let go of Harry. Fast forward a couple years and Louis is still absolutely in love with Harry but Harry has no idea he exists. Anyways, Harry moves away from his family to get away from the claustrophobic environment of always being looked over and he coincidentally moves to the same city Louis lives. He’s Nialls neighbor. Anyways, they meet when Louis goes on a date to his restaurant and his date asks for the chef. They start becoming friends and they flirt, eventually Harry finds out the truth and he’s distraught. He gives Louis a chance and tells him that he wants to get to know him better. They start to hang out more, even more so when Harry’s apartment has a water leak and he’s forced to stay in Louis guest bedroom. They talk about the past and they fall in love all over again. Harry never gets his memories back.
This book is sad because it has lost potential. Harry and Louis had a “perfect” relationship before he lost his memory and now that Harry can’t remember it, they’re always on uneven ground with Louis loving Harry a little bit more just bc of time and their past. Also because their past isn’t remembered, it’s like it’s not “real”, so it gives the illusion of it being perfect and pristine. Harry losing his memory and never getting it back is like him losing the perfect love they had and not being able to get it back. He can and does of course, still fall in love with Louis but it’s not the same as they aren’t true equals and they don’t understand each other to the same extent (as seen by Louis mom and Harry never being able to meet her again). This entire book is just really sad and filled with melancholy. Even the fluffy good parts are bittersweet. It would be a lie to say that I was disappointed Harry never got his memories back as I was dying to read that scene for more than half of the story. I absolutely understand the writers decision to not make him remember, it’s more realistic and in reality it probably makes the story sadder but it also makes it feel incomplete in a sense. It makes it feel like their relationship will always be Louis loving and understanding Harry a little more than Harry does Louis and that just makes me really sad.
Overall, I absolutely adored this book. I could not stop reading, it was so so addicting. I stayed up for so long trying to finish it and debating between wanting to know more and feeling like I was reading too fast. I cried and I laughed and I loved them so so much and I would absolutely love to read this again in the future. It was just so well written and the story was so intriguing that I couldn’t help but adore it.

mit eine der traurigsten Fanfictions.
Ich habe glaube ich noch nie so viel und oft geweint bei einer Fanfiction oder einem Buch generell.
Die Idee der Geschichte ist so gut und auch super umgesetzt. Ich liebe den Schreibstil und würde gerne mehr Fanfictions in diese Richtung lesen, da ich es einfach geliebt haben.
Ich finde die Geschichte so gut aufgebaut, vor allem sind die Rückblicke sehr gut platziert und ich liebe sie, auch wenn ich meistens wegen ihnen geweint habe.
Kann die Story jedem empfehlen, der mit Verlust umgehen kann. Jedoch braucht man auf jeden fall Taschentücher, meistens bei den Rückblicken, aber manchmal war auch die Gegenwart sehr traurig.

GUYS! This is THE book, I love every single part of it, I’ll read it many more times for sure. The feelings, the idea, the storyline, the characters are just wow. I read it all in one breathe, I was so exited and couldn’t stop til I read it all. I laughed, I cried, I felt everything that is there in the world to feel while reading a book of two guys who fell in love twice despite everything. I understood both sides and why they did what they did or why they get what they felt. And it’s great! Couldn’t be any better!

Me encantó! Ya tenía un montón que no leía un fic Larry y me enamoré de esta historia ♡
Ame a los personajes, H y L me atraparon desde el primer momento.
Louis se mostraba tan fuerte que en algún momento olvide que él también sentía miedo y preocupación, y de alguna manera eso me hizo amar más la historia porque pude darme cuenta que necesitaba la misma comprensión que Harry.
Y cómo diría Abril "es una tristeza azul clarito"
Cita favorita: "No tiene idea de cuánto tiene de mi. Soy suyo en todos los sentidos. Lo he sido durante los últimos cinco años."

L incontra dopo tre anni H, il suo fidanzato che ha perso la memoria in un incidente e lo ha dimenticato. Cercherà di stargli alla larga ma H è deciso a conquistarlo e L capitolerà perché lo ama ancora.
Bellissima storia d'amore, L ha una forza d'animo impressionante, tenta di tutto per resistere ad H ma alla fine non ce la fa; a parte la storia in se, ho apprezzato tutto il retroscena psicologico che è alla base del fatto che L vorrebbe tenere le distanze. Quando spiega a Niall il motivo del litigio con H, mi sono letteralmente sciolta. La traduzione è fatta egregiamente, non ho notato errori e la lettura è stata molto scorrevole e piacevole.

Worthy 4 stars.
My heart is glass and this book dropped it. The plot is really interesting and I found myself not being able to stop reading. I stayed up until 1am on a school night before I could tell myself to stop, that’s how enticing I found it. Sure, the writing itself was not too exceptional to me, maybe because I don’t really have much of an opinion on writing styles anyway. However, I could very much feel all the emotion pouring out of the characters. Or maybe that’s just me being empathetic.

I absolutely loved the way Harry found out about their past relationship. I was anticipating his reaction from the start honestly, but I’m very happy that he found out unconventionally, in a way I wouldn’t have expected. AH I JUST LOVE IT MAN IDK WHAT TO SAY. When he was like, “Louis, why is there a picture of us when i was 19?” And Louis was so speechless and just said “you were 20, actually” I JUST LOVED IT LIKE HOW ELSE DO I PUT IT INTO WORDS
Anyway yes I really truly did enjoy this book, I cried a lot for it, especially the moments where Louis would remember all the romantic moments between him and Harry, but Harry had no clue. Meeting at the restaurant too, I was on the edge of my seat.
Overall, it’s really worth a read. Recommended.

very good, but i think it’s difficult with fanfics to tell if it is actually good or if it’s just because you’re picturing it all as people you already love. i think if it was random people like actually characters i’d also enjoy it though, i probably wouldn’t have cried as much though. WARNING, YOU WILL CRY A LOT. at least once a chapter, at one point i had to wait for my pillow to dry after finishing a chapter because it was soaked i tell you. anyway, it was great, id recommend xx

Me atrapó y casi que me cautivó. Sé que hay historias que no hay que leer de una sentada y hay que dejarlas "reposar" para no cansarse de ellas, pero no tomé esa precaución y el último capítulo me dejó como "ufff y esto sigue". Sin embargo, me gustó la trama con respecto a la amnesia y las reticencias con respecto a eso. El segundo capítulo fue sin duda mi favorito.

ojalá me hubiera gustado más!!!😭 pero el último capítulo y sobre todo el epílogo se me hicieron súper pesados y me desinteresé por completo!!!! los primeros capítulos,,, chef's kiss nobel de la literatura etc pero no sé si porque se vuelve un poco cheesy o porque es todo bastante predecible pero me costó mucho acabarlo

reading relief next to me before this may have been the biggest knife to the heart of my entire life because i just pictured that harry and louis who went through all of that and then harry got amnesia. UGH I CRIED SO MANY TEARS i love them so much #larry4lyfe i recommend this book to anyone idec
