Final book of the series. Elizabeth the 102 year-old evil dowager of the family tells how she, a member of the British Royal family and formerly sixteenth in line of succession, ended up running away to Japan to marry the love of her life. She arrives just after the Great Kanto Earthquake levels most of the city and she's forced to climb over dead bodies to find her lover. She and her family are caught again and again in the great events of history that shake her adopted country.
