Antonia “Toni” Padilla’s friends think she’s heartbroken—but they’re wrong…

Toni’s on-again, off-again relationship with Miguel Santos is going nowhere, but it’s not the end of the world. The truth is she hasn’t had feelings for him for a long time—if ever. She doesn’t really believe a man can bring her to her knees, but then she meets bar-owner Trent McKenzie.

Trent wants Toni instantly—but she’s going to make him work for it…

Trent has a reputation for one-night stands, and Toni won’t be another notch on his bedpost, so despite their fierce attraction, she waits until she’s sure of his intentions. But once they start dating, there’s a mysterious increase in criminal activity around Trent’s bar.

Past traumas and current hidden agendas become dangerous…

Toni fears she’s being stalked, and the stress is bringing back nightmares she thought she’d gotten rid of years ago. To make matters worse, Trent soon becomes a target himself, leaving somebody he loves caught in the crossfire.

Unraveling the secrets of Toni’s lifelong recurring nightmare could help identify who means them harm, but who do you trust when you don’t know who is out to destroy you?

This was a good story and the characters were very interesting...
As i understood, the book is connecting with the two previous books of the series, but it wasn't difficult for me to get into the story since there were many reports on the previous stories...

The plot was quite interesting, but i think that in some points was moving in a slow pace...
The heroine was a little bit irritating for the most of the part, but i have to admit that the last 100 pages were full of suspense... and i liked it!!!

Well, in this book, it was the time for Toni to tell her story...
Toni was being pressured by her parents to be in relationship with Miguel since she was very young. She didn't agree with that opinion very much, but she didn't do anything to change it...

So when she is caughting him cheating on her, she is deciding that enough is enough and she is ending it.
At the same night, she is meeting Trent, a sexy bartender and from that moment, they are coming closer...

"I was scared. Miguel wounded my pride, but Trent could destroy my heart."

A year later, Trent and Toni continue meeting each other and they are trying to be friends even though that there is a big connection between them.

Trent just waiting for Toni to give him the chance to be together more than just friends and Toni because she is having too many issues and she doesn't want to pressure things, she wants to be absolutely positive to take a chance with Trent...

"There was always something smoldering between us, and like a fool I continued to poke it until I was sure it was a raging inferno. The heat between us pulled me closer, but I was afraid of getting burned. I knew i was driving him crazy, but my insticts to protect myself kept getting in the way."

Trent didn't want anything than to have a good time with different women when Toni stepped into his way and he changed his point of view. The last year, he is waiting patiently for her to give him a chance and his love for her, everyday is getting bigger...

But he is having too many shits on his plate as well...
Lately, some strange things are happening around his bar and Trinity is getting always on the way with her own problems... and with helping her, he is convicting his relationship with Toni...

"There was a war raging inside of me, and I didn't want her to sense it. She challenged me, made me think, feel and hope for things I never thought I'd have."

Will Trent and Toni will be able to be together when there are standing too many obstacles between them???

Miguel who is not giving up on her...
Her parents who are insisting to push her into Miguel...
Those nightmares with the murder of that unknown, but in a strange way, familiar woman...
Trinity and her problems...
Trent's hero complex toward Trinity and his big heart...
And the myriad problems with her friends....

Will those problems tear them apart or made them stronger together???
Will they have a chance to happiness and to love???

Well, i will start by saying that i loved Trent...
The guy was sexy, he had the bad boy vibe but he was more than that...

He was so kind, so caring and he had a big heart...
He was in love with Toni, but he couldn't abandon a lost girl who was thinking as his little sister, even though that Trinity's purposes were clearly selfish.
He just couldn't abandon the people that he was caring for, even though that he knew that they must cause him serious troubles... and i loved him for that reason!!!

He also stayed beside Toni when the things got really ugly and he supported her...

"Leaving her wasn't an option for me. She is every beat of my heart, the air in my lungs, and basically the center of my universe. My life before I met her was empty, filled with nothing more than meaningless hookups. I could never go back to that now that I'd experienced what it meant to truly love someone."

I liked Toni, but she irritated me more than once...

Yep, she had a very bad and strained relationship with her parents, but damn, i honestly don't understand why she allowed them to control so much her life, especially with whom to be with...
And then, she decided to follow her heart, but damn, she was so stubborn and judgemental toward Trent. If she didn't like something that he did, she just pulled away from him and i hated that treatment....

Yep, she had her own serious problems and those problems every day were uglier than the day before, but still i didn't like her attitude so much, especially toward Trent...
She had some fears and she was reacting in bad way...
But when she finally pulled out her head from her a$$, i kinda of like her.

"The truth was, I had a hard time trusting people. I held myself back and hid my true feelings. Even my best friends only saw what i wanted them to see. I don't know why i did it."

As for the rest of the gang... I liked them all very much.... but i have a small preference toward Jeremy....

They were caring deeply for each other and they could do anything for their friends and they have prooved it more than once...

Overall, it was a nice reading with much of suspence, but it could be better if the heroine wasn't so irrational and stubborn all the god damn time!!!! But thank God, for Trent's insistence...

"Thank you for never giving up on me. You are my happily ever after."
"Nah, that means our story is done. This isn't over. We are to be continued, but I'm looking forward to more chapters with you."

I am a little too late to the party but I glad I nonetheless made it. Nothing can go wrong with a sweet romance of a tatooed bad-ass bartender and a sweet Latina with a tragic past. The romance was sweet and the plot constantly moving but it was the ending that made me really sad. With a NA novel I expected it to be wrapped up sweetly but I was really sad at how it ended. I really wanted Toni to end up having a sweet life with Leo and maybe Javier also as her family, I even imagined Leo giving away Toni at her wedding although both Trent and Toni didn't want to get married.

Also the story ends up in kinda a cliffhanger so I hope I might get a chance to read the rest of the story. Maybe Zack will get a story alongside Cameron and Jeremy?

Book Review- Destroy You by K. D. Carrillo

Toni has been pressured by her parents to date Miguel throughout high school. Her parents have it planned that she will marry him. Toni tries hard to love him like she should but when she catches him in a compromising position it is the last straw. She is never going back.
On that same night she meets bartender, Trent. His interest is peaked and he is determined to get to know her which shocks him because he has never taken the time to get to know a girl. Toni agrees to be friends.
Toni has a hard time letting people in and fights her growing feeling for Trent. Trent refuses to give up. However there are obstacles in the way. Trinity, Trent’s foster sister, keeps trying to get in the way and Miguel won’t leave Toni alone. Something else is going on as things get more dangerous. Toni’s nightmares are coming fast and often. Shocking secrets are revealed when everything explodes around Toni.
I liked this book. I couldn’t get into it in the beginning because I couldn’t stand Toni. She went along with everything and didn’t stand up for herself. That alone almost made me stop reading. I was disgusted at her character especially when she kept going back to Miguel.
Once she met Trent and from that point on it became a better story for me. The fear that Toni had about getting close was definitely expected. So as the story progressed I liked Toni more and more. She grew into a strong character even when her life was falling apart around her.
The storyline was crazy. All of a sudden the author is throwing in these dangerous situations. Lots of secrets are surrounding Toni and her family. You have no clue what but agree with the other characters’ assessment and suspicions. You get drawn into the mystery and danger. Nothing is what you thought.
The ending is a bit of a cliffhanger setting things up for the next installment. I like the group of friends and their crazy, dangerous encounters that they save each other from. This is a great story and I give it a 4 out of 5.

Destroy You is the third book in the Destroy Series by KD Carrillo and it if my Favourite. This is Toni’s story and you will be blown away with the events that occur in this book.

You will be sitting reading away thinking it will be a straight forward love story until you get thrown into the dramas of Toni’s life that she doesn't even remember only through nightmares.

Then you have Trent he only see Toni once but he is so drawn to her that he wants to spend the rest of his life to her. He comes with dramas too.

As these to try and get a relationship off the ground they are surrounded by drama and their friend who are trying to keep them safe. Mystery about Toni’s past come to a head and why she really didn't fit in with her family.

You will love this book because of all the twist and turns, you will fall in love with Trent and want Toni and him to be happy. At times you will even want to strangle those who are trying their hardest to destroy Toni and Trent.

I gave this book 5 stars and if I could I would gladly give it more. I can't wait to see what K D Carrillo has installed for us next. I do know it will be brilliant.

ARC provided by the publisher via NetGalley for an honest review.

Basically I did like this book. It was interesting and captivating. But there certainly were things that I found exhausting, and those were the descriptions. Sometimes I would get lost in them so hard, I forgot what the scene was about. There were to extensive for my taste.

And then there were those "surprise" moments, e.g. the flashback where Toni's father calls her by another girl's name. Up to that moment we know almost nothing about them because they never personally appear, but then we get that information. I get that it was important piece of info, but it was out of the blue and didn't seem natural to mention it at the time.

I would have loved if the things would have happened a bit faster.

So, if you don't mind the facts I mentioned, you would love this book.

While I ended up really enjoying the book, I did find that the first few chapters seems to jump around a bit and I had some difficulty keeping track of everything. Toni really had restrictive parents and my heart really went out to her as you could see how much she wanted to spread her wings. There was just a LOT of baggage that trailed behind her. The way that the mysterious dreams intersected in the book was quite interesting and by the end of the novel, I was quite hooked on finding out what would happen next. I only wish that there was a longer epilogue.. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Toni has been hurt by Miguel enough time to know it’s over, but she can’t convince him of that. So when she meets Trent, she’s afraid to let him in, especially with his reputation. But she can’t resist her attraction to him. He agrees to take it slow, but just when Toni decides she’s ready to give him her heart, their worlds fall apart. Trent turns to Trinity again, when Toni needs him the most. And Miguel is back and no taking no for an answer. They try and fight for each other but the world has so many other plans. But they find their HEA.

This is the 4th book I've read written by Kimberly Carrillo; I can’t wait to read more of her books.

This is the 4th book in the Destroy Series; it is a stand-alone book. The story is about Toni & Trent; she’s finally had enough of Miguel and goes out with her friends for her birthday to Trent’s bar. As things between them grows, crimes increase around the bar and when he’s targeted it bring back her nightmares of her childhood.

This is the third book in the Destroy series. Toni, Becca and Kate have been best friends for a few years and all seem to be hiding something but do not seem to confide their past history with each other nor to to pry it out of each other either. The girls we learn have developed some amazing friends and when Becca and Kate's pasts come to torment them the support and protection is amazing in their group.

Toni is the type of person who tries to push away what haunts her by putting on a fake smile so that everything appears to be okay for her. She comes from a wealthy family and her parents aren't the warm and friendly type. Her parents seem to like her on again off again boyfriend Miguel who happens to be from the right social class and is whom they plan on her marrying.

After ending her relationship with Miguel, she goes to a bar and she captures the attention of the tattooed bartender with a lip ring, Trent. She knows that her upright parents wouldn't approve of him because they are uptight snobs who plan on her marrying Miguel. Regardless of how poorly he treats her.

What happens when Toni keeps having nightmares that seem real but she doesn't recall the event happening for real? What happens when her past comes to haunt her along with Miguel? Is Trent able to break down the walls she has built up? Does her friends try to come to her rescue and does Trent along as well to come to her aid?

I recommend you read the whole series because some of the secondary characters in the previous books become main characters and their stories are all full of pain, torment, suspense, love, healing and the list goes on. These books were well written and you won't want to put them down!

this book is the 3rd book in the series. It is the first one that I have read. You do not need to read the first two before you read this one. They friends are mentioned frequently and you learn a great deal about what happened with them. The previous books sound interesting so it would not be a bad idea to read them. This story was interestig. Toni and Trent meet on her 21st birthday at his bar. She just caught her on again off again boyfriend cheating. Trent is what we call the typical bad boy. He has tattoos, a lip ring and owns a bar. He is everything her parents do not want. However, they have different reasons for not accepting Trent. The story is fast paced and full of mystery. Some of the things that happened were a little convenient. Everytime something happened with Toni, it was during an off time for classes. Some cases, her friends just happen to be around the corner. There were just a few too many coincidences. Jeremy's yacht and his uncle's private island? He never in all the years mentioned that to his best friends? however, I still enjoyed the story and will probably go back and read the story of her two friends. Mel and Trent's borther would make an interesting story. What is going to happen with Cameron and Jeremy? Is Trent and Toni's story really over?

I am a huge fan of this author she's got this amazing ability to make you feel so many different emotions through out the story. What I loved about Toni was she was fierce and beautiful on the outside but on the inside she was literally falling apart. Trent was an amazing man even though at one point in this book I was so mad at him. I just kept thinking how could he but as Jeremy would say be careful there's always consequences in the choices we make. Oh and speaking of Jeremy and Cameron please give me a book for them ah. Seriously though this story takes you through this story and your constantly guessing what is going to happen next. I love stories that keeps me on edge but with beautiful people. This group is definitely one of my favorite book families catching up with them feels me with more joy. Even if you had me worried for a minute lol. I got this book from net gallery for an honest review.

Wow, this book was absolutely amazing. I couldn't put the book down, my eyes were glued to my kindle because that's how intense the book was getting. Toni is a strong woman but her cheating ex leaves her unable to emotionally trust people, which is really sad. Toni has amazing friends who have suffered abuse in their lives and thats why I think their friendship circle is so tight. Trent has been with many women but the night Toni walks into the bar: he's drawn to her. Trent wants more then just night one with Toni: she intrigues yet challenges him. Trent is sweet and gorgeous but fundamentally patient with Toni. This was a fab book with a great twist and the author leaves you hanging on the edge. Sometimes the plot can become obvious but this book has lots of turns before the ultimate twist when everything clicks into place. Beautiful story with an original narrative that kept me in suspense until the end. The author did an amazing job and I will be checking out her other books.

I read this book as a stand alone.
I find that I want to read the other books from the details that was released about the friends.
But, this book really worked as a stand alone.

Toni and Trent, they do not seem like they would belong together since she followed her parents rules and he full of tattoos and piercings.

spoilerrrrrrrr---''---...'''.........

I knew it wasn't her biological parents, well I didn't think it would have worked out that way either. I was expecting that the parents had a child and Toni was the grandchild. Not the way it worked out.
I also wasn't expecting her dad to be a huge drug dealer!.ahhhh!!

On another note, I wish it would have had more dates for Toni and Trent since they were "talking" for an entire year.

But, over all I really enjoyed this book, it was very to put down. I kept picking it back up everytime I got a chance.

The story wasn’t bad, but in general there were moments when I got a little bored (too many references to others friends story/previous books) o the book was too repetitive, felt like the events were too rushed or too “much” (a yacht, seriously? Bringing there every body, babies include?), too forced, predicable o even cheesy…

This book just didn’t worked for me.

Full of Action! Must Read....

I enjoy stories full of suspense and action, and I loved the commitment and support from this group of friends and significant partners. Not one of the characters ever once had to doubt the loyalty of the others. Loved Trent's statement of their happily ever after being continued.

So so

I liked the other two books but this one drove me nuts or I should say she did. I moments its I don't need protection and the next she runs to the boyfriend or who ever crying then the men say protection and again she says I can protect myself it goes on and on that I wanted to soap her. She was so annoying I couldn't wait for the book to be over.
