An absolute masterpiece of a book! I feel honoured to have read the beta version of this book. From a book on Wattpad that was loved by all its readers, Unfolding Ethan is now a full fledged book and I cannot be more glad! Absolute loved the book and awaiting the sequel, Unfolding Kiara ;)

Mahi Mistry is a new-to-me author and I am sucker for friends-to-lovers trope, so when I received this book arc to read, I was very excited. I wanted to love this book so much more buttttt…. Part of it fell flat to me.
Brief Summary:
Ethan and Kiara have been best friends for most of their lives, basically, they been the inseparable duo. However, lines begin to blur when Ethan’s girlfriend, Ariana, betrays him with his best friend Liam. Kiara has crushed on him forever but never acted on it and felt Ethan would not feel the same. Ethan in the back of his mind as treated Kiara like his but was fearful to take the step as he did not want to lose their friendship. However, he begins to ponder if maybe they should move out of the friend zone. One day, Ethan finally makes a move when he and Kiara are drunk, which he asks her for a kiss. After that incident, they are in this weird limbo state of should they or should they not. But when Kiara tests Ethan and they can’t ignore their attraction to each other anymore, they take the leap and begin a more intimate relationship. Kiara and Ethan do not label their relationship with boyfriend/girlfriend as they feel more for each other than what those label entail and are fearful to label it as they do not want to lose their friendship. However, a turn of events occurs and Kiara finally tells Ethan how she feels and he does likewise and they officially become a couple. Things begin to look up for these two as they make plans for prom, going to same college, even living together. However, Kiara has some dark secrets/thoughts she is hiding even from the person she trusts the most (which is Ethan). There is foreshadowing to it, .

Things I liked about this book:
➼ Kiara and Ethan are each other firsts. I liked that with their first time, it wasn’t made into this magical moment; it was realistic, messy, emotional, and raw. They had laughs, cries, uncertainty during their first-time having sex. Bravo, Miss Mistry on writing a beautiful, heartfelt, connectable, realistic first time!
➼ This book did include my favorite trope of friends-to-lovers trope. I felt the trope overall for the most part was developed well. I felt that their friendship could have been flourished a little more. Yes, we know they been friends for most of their lives and we get ‘snapshots’ if you will of their friendship but I felt it could have been developed a bit better.
Things I disliked about this book:
➼ I felt some of the sex scenes were VERY clinical in the description of body parts (ex. - using digits instead of fingers)
➼Some of the drama I felt was forced into the story and childish such as the story line with Liam and Kiara in what they are hiding from Ethan.
➼ I enjoyed some of the banter between the main characters as well as H/h with secondary characters. However, some of the dialogue, especially, around sex and Ethan and Kiara relationship was somewhat cringy.
Overall, 2.5 stars read!

Mahi Mistry is a new-to-me author. I felt that I couldn't really relate to the characters and found that this book just wasn't for me. Unfolding Ethan is an okay read that will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-COMMON.

This was a great story. It was so easy to fall in love with the characters and put yourself in their situations. It was fun and playful and reminded you of all the beautiful feelings of your first love. I am impatiently waiting for the second book.

The dynamics of emotions this book gave was beyond amazing. I've read the beta version books of this duet and they are honestly worth reading! It's much more than just teenage love and a best friend-to-lovers kind of book. I may be biased but honestly 10/10 for me ❤️

This was an amazing book. With so many emotions in it. Parts of the story I was able to relate to. I'm not going to have to wait to read the second book as I was left in tears as this ended and I now have to know what happened!

I wasn't expecting a book about teenage love and sexual exploration to be so enthralling. The story was so sweet.I accidently opened the Epilogue before reading the last few chapters and was already devistated of possibly him losing Kaira and am anxious for Unfolding Kaira to be published. You have to have to read!

Ethan and Kiara have been best friends all their lives, that’s why when Ethan’s girlfriend, Ariana, betrays him with his best friend Liam, it is Kiara who best comforts him. Kiara has always felt something more for Ethan but has never dared to take the step for fear of losing him as friend.( Both of them shared that fear, really). Until one day of drunkenness Ethan asks her for a kiss.
What begins as a flirting game leads them to discover together the pleasures of sex, sharing their first kiss and their first time.
They are both afraid that this will end their friendship but they cannot stop,and when Ethan ends up in the hospital, Kiara declares her love for him and he tells her that he is love with her.😍😍😍😍
They go from friends to be a couple, making plans to go to the same college and live together. But the book ends with an Ethan with 💔 and without Kiara, only with her diary that Liam gives to Ethan to see if he finds the answer as to why she is gone, and that is throughout the book it seems that Liam knows some secret about Kiara, that she doesn’t want to tell Ethan to not harm him.
It a is a BEAUTIFUL story, I’m in love with Ethan, and to for him to be an inexperienced boy he knows very well what he wants.
From here I ask for an ARC of the second book, I can’t wait to find out how this story continues and see what happened to Kiara.

Amazing book. Mahi was able to give an amazing book that most women have have at least once in their lives, that friend turned to more relationship. Left us with a huge cliff hanger, can't wait to see what happens next to these two. Was not able to put the book down, read in one sitting until the early hours of the morning.

Great story! It has everything. Comedy, drama, and of course good old fashioned smut that's steaming hot! It's a story of best friends finally seeing each other as more than friends. Their journey will keep you wanting more and more! Loved every chapter!

Unfolding Ethan is a very addictive, this story will make you not want to put the book down.

Very good book. Couldnt lay it down. Red it on dreame. The writing is very good and charachters are well build and so intetesting. The main characters are amazing and their journy is too. I cant wait to read the second book. Highly recommand it!

I enjoyed this book. I thought it was a beautiful friends-to-lovers romance! It was steamy and full of excitement. The characters were wonderful. This was a new-to-me author, and I will definitely be checking out more of her books!

Absolutely loved this book! Mahi Mistry was able to create a magnificent story we all can relate to, with firsts loves, heartbreaks, uncertainty, and the angst that comes with transitioning into adulthood. This story quickly sucks you in with all the love, laughter, and double entendre anyone would hope for in a realistic coming of age tale. I loved reading the beta version via the Dreame app and cannot wait to read the published version as well as the sequel. I am a fan of this author for life!

It was different but good. It felt like I was starting the book in the middle. There was no real intoduction of the characters and their relationships. It is like you are expected to know.
There is no real buildup to a climax. I don't know how to take Kiara. She seems secretive. Ethan is gullible and naive but a loveable character. There are a lot of questions that go unanswered in this book like what happen to Ethan's brother.
The ending left me confused. So confused that I will probably read the second book to see if I get answers.

I must be honest and say that I'm kinda on the fence with this story because sometimes I struggled with it and other times I enjoyed it.
By the time I finished it, I concluded that it was mainly an exploration of first love and first sexual experiences between Kiara and Ethan because it felt like not much else happened to move the story along. They have pretty much been friends from the cradle. They have a wonderful friendship and are super close. They have another best friend, Liam, who they end up falling out with just after starting their senior year at high school.
The relationship between Ethan and Kiara was super hot but Kiara was keeping a secret that I can't even begin to guess at because we hardly got any clues. The ending of the story took me by surprise as there was almost nothing to indicate the reason for it or Kiara's state of mind. In chapters that were her point of view, she never really discussed what troubled her.
Overall, without giving spoilers, there were parts of this story that I found really frustrating. They were kids on the cusp of adulthood, so there was plenty of adult behaviour but there was also plenty of immaturity peppering their speech and mentality. Maybe I've read too many high school romances recently and perhaps I've reached my limit! LOL. I really want to know Kiara's secret but I don't know if I'm invested enough in their story to find out.
