Joseph Hunter #2

Shadow Hunter

Rate this book
If you're one of those nerds who does way too much research for no reason at all, well here's my sob story.
It's starts with a six-pack of iced cold beer... a romantic comedy on repeat... refusing to face reality...
And the answer is no, this isn't even about a break-up. It's so much worse than that.
SPOILER ALERT time...
After a demented vampire murdered my daughter in front of me, I learned that I had a previously unknown shadow magic. I used said magic to destroy the said vampire. Now, instead of practicing and perfecting the power, I use my time to get drunk and wallow in my misery—because I'm a bleeping delight. Sorry for the bleep, but I don't think Amazon allows me to curse in the descriptions.
Anywho, there are some crazy happenings in this book. Xander, my annoying best friend, and I get in a tremendous fight. Dakota, a super-sexy girl I just met and who I'm kind of into, takes me on a creepy date. There's Nephil and monsters and magic. It's all very exciting, and it all ramps up to the third and not-so-last installment of the series. Have I rambled long enough? Listen, I barely like getting off the couch to open another beer. What makes you think I want to write out a synopsis? I mean, if you like sarcastic humor, dark storylines, and charming men like myself, then you won't be able to put this book down. Early readers known as my mother are praising this story, saying, 'Are you serious? You write this kind of crap? You should probably go pray now.'
What are you waiting for? Read Shadow Hunter today.

Fantastic!!

I would have highlighted the entire book (actually I almost did😁😎) but future readers probably would be really annoyed, so I restrained myself - and THAT is saying something. There are a few authors out there that throw in BLESSED sarcasm and humor - and those are absolute prerequisites for any book I read! - BUT none have quite managed to match the level of sarcasm, humor or wit that I personally use daily .... None UNTIL NOW!! AND I LOVED IT - THANK YOU. It did take me a bit longer to read because I found myself having to wipe coffee or Mountain Dew off of my screen more than a few times or I was laughing and lost my place so had to go back and re-read..... and I'm OK with that because the story itself is really good but, as mentioned before, the levels of sarcasm, humor and wit make it an Excellent read. I'm looking forward to the next book.

I like Joseph, although Joey suites him better. Not quite grown up. I like the way his mouth runs when he is not sure or scared or trying to impress. He has a lot to make up for, as through the Gods. He is not an evil person. I think that will come out sooner than later. I do hope you as an author will take this person further than the four books you have planed. Their is so much you can do with Shadows. You know like the case files of or the case of, would be awesome. I still don't like cliffhangers. He is down to his last beer and he needs to get some, he also needs to kill the goddess who killed his daughter while he had to watch. His powers were stripped from him but he has a new power. What will he do first? What if his past rears its ugly head? Can he beat his fears? See how he gets on

I love a great snarky antihero. The characters in this series are so well developed and the world-building is superb. Each book can be read as a stand-alone but, the series as a whole is a great arc. One of the things I enjoyed most was the breaking of the fourth wall as our main character talks to the reader.

The story line was good, the character work was great, and the book had a smooth flow to it. This was a great addition to the series and kept me hooked from beginning to end.

Well, get to it already!

If you haven't read book one, what's wrong with you? You need to read it first, hence the number one. Both are great but out of order, maybe not so fluid. If you have read the first, why are you reading this? Get to it already!

Annoying MC

The MC is so insufferable he's like a 13-year-old everything is a joke to him and he is supposed to be this killer of monsters but he's so incompetent the only reason why I finished this book is because I wanted to know what type of supernatural he was

Funny guy

Not the most likable main character but he's funny, annoying, sarcastic. Getting into this series and can't wait to read the next one
