Adie helped to take down the Dreamer and is now ready for life to return to normal, whatever that is. But the demonic higher-ups have other ideas, and Adie soon finds herself landed in the hot seat. Will she be able to answer for her actions, or will she see everything she’s fought for taken away?
Part 4 of Succubus Trials.
Join Adie on her (mis)adventures toward achieving a quasi-normal life among humans.
Pacific Northwest author L.L. Frost writes urban fantasy and paranormal romance with snarky characters and descriptive world-building. Whether she's writing a fast burn romance about witches, wolf shifters, and vampires, or teasing a slow burn romance while hunting demonic monsters, her passion is for character driven novels.
Growing up in a rainforest gave L.L. Frost plenty of time to daydream while spending cozy days under a blanket with her cats by her side. Sipping tea or chugging coffee, you can find her with a book or laptop in hand, imagining new worlds.
That Victor Hesse is wily as hell. I cannot stand this guy. He clearly hates humans and while most of the other demons don't care for humans all that much, they don't hate them with such zeal. He's quite sneaky and quite good at setting up traps.
Meanwhile, Adie is trying to figure out how to keep Domnall from reforming once his body is destroyed and the rest of his essence is released. Tall order. Then there's trying to make sure that Tax can see his shells once they're born, which is just cute.
I really hope that Julian's statement at the end there isn't a betrayal. I don't think he would do that, but L.L. sure is ramping up the suspense.
It's here! The Hearing has finally about to happen, but first things first and Adie has to get ready for what's to come. Too bad things come with some bad news in more ways than one. Things left with our characters in a bit of a situation and now they have to deal with that before more trouble finds them. The Hearing is the 4th installment in this particular story arc and it shifts into a really high tense situation at the end so prepare yourself! I like that Adie decides to focus on the more important things and that is the guys as the clock is ticking towards her hearing with Julian at her side. She's still trying to win over their neighbor to gain access to Tac's brood but no success so far. The gravity of what is coming begins to weigh on her, but at least things are beginning to settle at the bakery. I like that Victor is really making his presence known. I was curious as to where the author was going to take this storyline and I was not disappointed. Tally brings in some facts to shake things up and I'm pretty sure my jaw hit the floor because it spells all sorts of trouble to come if Adie and the guys aren't careful and don't win this problematic case looming. This book needs to be reread and edited again. There were quite a few errors scattered throughout. From BBBB being "BBB" in one spot to some spelling errors scattered throughout the book. I know that a couple slipped through because they don't register unless you are really paying attention and looking for them. While the errors do catch my eye, they don't detract completely from my enjoyment of this book. For a final version though they should be cleaned up. All in all, I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. The ending has me on pins and needles to learn what happens next because I can only imagine what Adie is feeling and thinking for now. Must read addition if you have read this far in this series.
The time of Adie and Julian's hearing is quickly approaching. Until then she wants to spend her time baking and enjoying her demons. Adie is adamant that she won't betray her cousin and insists her Destruction Demons find a way to hopefully save her without sacrificing Julian. Adie is true to those she loves but is her faith misplaced this time?
This episode slayed me. Chocked full of emotions. Right as I thought that it was getting too heavy, Adie took a little trip to visit the BBBB and I found myself giggling. Perfect balance. The intensity really skyrocketed this time around and the ending worried me more than I care to admit. I don't want to be disappointed with anyone. What a cliffhanger. Finally, I am ridiculously excited about Tac's babies. Anyone else?
Things in this segment of the story are definitely getting tense with Victor breathing down Adie's neck leaves everyone scrambling to prepare for the dreaded hearing. I'm wondering why everyone won't leave Adie alone knowing she has the demons of destruction on her side... but I guess that makes her more of a target. The last chapter had be on the edge of my seat until the very last word...... I have already gotten the next book because I have to know what happens next!
OMG, I seriously cannot believe what happened in this segment!! I know Adie was aware of the possibility of things going the wrong direction with the hearing and that demons are demons regardless of friends or family, but wow! This was a killer cliffhanger! Can’t wait for the next one!
This is starting to get intense and I wasn’t to scream with the cliff hanger. I don’t know how I’m going to go another month without this on my mind. I hope this isn’t as it seems but ugh! Can’t wait for the next serial!
Ms. Frost weaves a delightful tangle of intrigue, action, and romance. I love Adie, Emil, Tobias, and Kellen. Add in Tac, Julian, the imps, and so many others... This serial is amazing.
