With tales ranging from the deadly serious to the hilariously absurd, the all-new Legacy Short Stories Collection is a must-have for every devoted Legacy fan.
Erik Ashendale is a wizard — one that will let nothing stop him from hunting down that which goes bump in the night and keeping his city safe. But he cannot do it alone.
The new Short Story Collection features never-seen-before tales from the perspectives of the people around our hero, from his kick-ass apprentice stepping into her master’s shoes to Druids on epic quests and, a demonic assassin who takes a revenge mission.
Five new stories that are for both first-time readers and long-time fans, the second volume of the Short Story Collection is sure to whet your appetite for this electrifying series!
If you love the Legacy world, you’ll want to read this short story collection. The depth and life he gives to his characters in full novels is also here in these short stories, whether they’re long-time main characters like Erik and Abi or brand-new characters I won’t name so I don’t spoil anything. As always, I enjoyed my time in Erik Ashendale’s world and look forward to the next story.
This book is a must have either if you are a huge fan of the series like me, or just if you want to enjoy some magical adventures and to discover a fantasy world with amazing characters, magic (of course), intrigue, action and danger. A very enjoyable reading. Loved it!
As always, Ryan does amazing characterizations as well as some exciting storylines. Right mix of supernatural and likeable people, or demons, or wizards. Always a good read
This is another one of the books from the series that is no longer available. The others being the prequels about Erik and Gil’s father. That is the main drawback for e-books. When a retailer removes them from their inventory people who haven’t already purchased the books have no way to access them. At least with print books there are physical copies that someone could hunt for.
Solo Quest 4.5 stars Abi is shown handling a mission during the time when Erik was dead. At least she was channeling her grief for the good of others.
The Acorn 4 stars Emrys is tasked by Cernunnos to find a stolen acorn. Joining him are two fae. The way they reacted to fast food was funny. Perhaps the ones in Malta are different than the ones in the US, but Emrys leaving money on the table was odd. This one has a call back to Legacy: Short Story Collection, Vol. 1.
Quality Time 4 stars Erik bonds with Zeke, who has a changed Sun Tzu for a teacher. This new Sun Tzu is weird. Zeke is an interesting concept whose discussions make my brain hurt.
Without Complaint 4 stars Chronicles two of Berphomet’s assignments. There is a disconnect between the Berphomet we see here and the one from the police station. The way the character was introduced had him channel The Terminator with the wanton loss of life...that was supposedly “fixed” even though we were never told how.
Wizard 101 5 stars Takes place after the first book. Erik begins teaching Abi.
