London, 1888

After years of working and living in a brothel, I—Asia Quicksilver, the orphan who was called after a continent and a chemical element—finally have a normal job that doesn’t require to remove my clothes. But am I happy as the housekeeper of the elusive Mr Evander Lynch? Not really.
The pay is good and the job easy, but every time I’m close to Mr Lynch, odd visions of us together flash in my mind, as if I met him before he hired me. And I feel this cursed tug in my chest that pulls me towards him. But does he spare me a glance? Not at all.
I finally get his attention when I stumble upon the remains of a mutilated corpse in an alley. Mr Lynch becomes very protective of me. Which is deuced good. Because the maniac who killed all those whores months ago is back.

One heroine has a new job, perhaps a safer one, but her employer ignores her, which is not to her liking. But when danger rears its head, suddenly she has more attention than she wants.

This is book two of this urban fantasy series with a steampunk setting. The book actually does okay as a standalone, but you will get a lot more out of it if you read them in order.

I am a sucker for both urban fantasy stories and steampunk, so this one fits the bill nicely. The story is very well written, the setting is detailed and gritty, and the characters are deep and mysterious. This one picks up shortly after the previous book, which is good because the first book left many questions unanswered. And you will get some answers here, but not all of them. The story is highly enjoyable and very engaging, with lots of mysteries and twists to be explored. Overall, a fantastic read and I look forward to more in this series.

Highly recommended.

The perfect combination of mystery, paranormal, steampunk and steamy romance! The world building is amazing, the characters intriguing, the twists and turns unexpected and to die for! If you haven't read the first book in the series, no worries, this book can be read as a standalone. But I highly recommend getting to read both books in order. Personally, I hope there are more books in the series coming our way!

Asia’s story continues and just keeps getting better! Another amazing story from this fantastic author. This story showed us a few new bad guys and creatures, new career opportunities, and heartbreak lead to a fantastic story of murder and adventure! Something for every person, who loves reading and entering a new worlds within the pages that make up this story. The writing is so fantastic you feel as though you are both Asia and a fly on the wall.

This second installment in the series does not disappoint! I loved reading the first novel in the series and seeing Asia and Evander come together in a world of historical authenticity, supernatural beings, and steamy romance. There is action, sexy time, and delicious tension to keep you reading. As with the first book, I read it way too quickly and had a little book hangover when I finished. I am looking forward to more from Barbara Russell and her Royal Occult Bureau series!

Asia and Evander’s story continues. Evander has hired Asia to be his housekeeper. While the work is easy and the pay is good, she feels uneasy and drawn to him. She can’t shake the feeling that she’s known him before. There is still a killer on the loose. What happens when Asia’s memory returns? I enjoyed this intriguing romance. This book up perfectly with Asia and Evander’s story. Now she's a housekeeper in his house instead of working in a brothel. However, this don't feel right for hr, she keeps having flashes of memory that she can't explain and it's drawing her closer to him. After finding a body and realizing the killer is still on the loose, this story immerses into many great twists and turns pulling you into the story.

This is the second book in the Royal Occult Bureau series.
The story about Asia and Evander continues and it was very good!
The way the story is written, in 1 pov is something I don’t like but that’s just me, however this story, the atmosphere and the characters are very interesting and so I just had to finish it and I truly enjoyed it! Therefore I can really recommend this series, and to be read in order.
I received this arc from the author and this review is my honest opinion.

This is the 3rd book I've read written by Barbara Russell; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.

The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

I loved the characters.

The second book in Barbara Russell's Royal Occult Series is just as brilliant as the first. Following on with the same characters and further exploring their romance, and the conflicts surrounding them, this novel was a delight to read. I love this genre and Barbara Russell never fails to deliver. Full of action, feelings, social class defying awesomeness. It challenges the ideologies of the setting and is framed in a Arthur Conan Doyle style detective story. Sublime.

Following on from book 1 in the Royal Occult Bureau series, Asia is now housekeeper for Evander. But for some reason Asia has visions of past encounters with Evander and she has feelings towards him that she cannot explain. But all of a sudden Asia's memories returns and there is a new race to catch a killer they all though had previously been caught. On top of that can Asia deep with the feelings and the strong bond between her and Evander.
This book continues 3 months from where the first book finished and i was eager to read more of Asia and Evander. Asia is a great main female character, despite her past and everything that life throws at her she stays strong.
The author has written a story that draws you in with a brilliant story line and wonderful characters. But you do need to make sure that you have read book on in the series before starting this book.

This book is fabulous. It’s just as good as book one in the series, and I was delighted to get more of Asia’s story. Full of humor and lore, it’s a perfect follow-up and has a twist I never saw coming. Highly recommended.

Please, please tell me that this is not the final book in the "Royal Occult Bureau" series. I have questions, so many questions. I need to know if Jasper and Charlotte will get their own story; and if Saul will get his own story, too. I even want Sirius to get his own story, I want him to be humbled by one of the ladies of De Luna House. This series could go on forever. I will admit that I wasn't too happy when the first book ended with a cliffhanger, but it was still a good story. "Quicksilver" is even better.

This book was a perfect blend of paranormal and mystery, I enjoyed reading it. I just need more because I love these characters and the world Barbara Russell has created. I forgot, what about Willow and Doctor Jessica Black getting their own stories? As you can tell, I love this series, and I love "Quicksilver." This was a page turner and a wonderful read.

Quicksilver - Barbara Russel
4/5 STARS 2/5 SPICE

This is steamy not spicy. We get lots of hints and like two little scenes but it’s not a spicy book. This is my third Russel book and I’m obsessed. Only a 4 star because j wanted more time between the FMC and MMC. Felt like they spent the whole book apart. The whole paranormal thing is so complex but easy to grapple in the book. And let me tell you EVANDER LYNCH!!!! He’s my man. And he’s blond so that’s saying a lot. Im not going to explain the whole premise again because I have two other reviews on my profile. You want this if you like paranormal, sexual tension, forbidden love, strong willed FMC, mates/bonds, historical romance. This whole series is so complicated but it’s actually a very easy read. I’m hooked and will be finishing the series! I can’t wait to hear Charlottes story. Also I recommended reading book one and then going straight into book 2. They pick up one after the other and follow the same couple. This book is my Roman Empire! After reading book 1 I COULD NOT stop thinking about these two and how they’d get back to one another.

This was a good follow up to book 1. It’s a quick, light read.
Lots of loose ends get tied up in this story. We finally see Evander and Asia get their HEA although there are several bumps along the road of romance. Although Charlotte still seems to be left out in the cold, we will see more in book 3 about her.
I do enjoy Asia as a character.
This is a good blend of HR, mystery, paranormal and steam. Several steamy scenes which were fun to read.
I have a couple of minor annoyances about modern language used (ie Let’s do this.) and several times there were missing words. As I said, they are minor and don’t significantly affect the story.
I’m off to read the short story Mrs. Lynch to close the story arc on Evander and Asia.

Conclusion of Asia and Evander's Story!

The conclusion of Asia and Evander's story wasn't quite as good as the first one, but it was still very enjoyable. I think a lot of the new characters are set up to become POV characters in the later books. The world is fascinating, even if the patriarchal BS of the Royal Occult Bureau makes my blood boil; it's enough of a plot point that I am pretty sure trying to change the Bureau from within will have a place in upcoming books. I am really looking forward to Charlotte and Jasper's story, which is next, and I've decided that Sirius doesn't deserve a redemption arc— hopefully he gets what's coming to him in an upcoming installment. I am really glad I finally decided to give this series a try. Quicksilver was a quick, fun read!

A great second book. The book starts with Asia's memory wiped. She cannot remember the events of the previous book or helping The Royal Occult Bureau. She is now employed by Evander Lynch as his housekeeper. She gets glimpses of memories followed by hellish headaches. Then she meets someone who promises to reveal what happened but in order to find out she must have sex with him. What will she choose?

Then the murderer strikes from the first book, this time attacking ladies of quality, proving Bertie the Incubus innocent, and one of his friends must be guilty. Who will help find the culprit? When all concerned have either their minds wiped or are dead. A gripping read.

Another awesome book in the series. What we think we know, we really don't. The characters really show their true colors. More mystery with red tape and lack of respect for professions, but still strong females that don't take that lying down. Can't wait to read book 3!
