The Gift by E. Clay is a short book telling the story of Clay Thompson, who received a gift after a car accident. Clays prayers right before the accident were answered, as his new gift helps him avoid impending peril. When Clay starts dating Ellen however, his gift tells him something isn't right, but will he listen in time and avoid peril?

The book is a light read. It starts off with Clay joining a high school reunion and recounting memories with old friends. Lots of characters are introduced, but it bothered me a little that those characters didn't play a larger role in the rest of the story. Instead, the events after the accident focused on Clay and Ellen, an incredibly rich and influential woman he met on a dating site.

After adjusting to the switch in focus, I kept reading until I finished it. I felt the need to know what would happen: would Clay keep seeing Ellen? Would he listen to his gift? I struggled throughout the book because I didn't know what the actual plot was, but as the plot was revealed in the end, everything clicked.

As I often say with short books, more background information or descriptions would improve the story and make everything a little clearer. Despite this, it's a fine read with a hidden message that I won't reveal, because you'll just have to read the book yourself and find out ;)

This book penned down by author E.Clay weaves an intricate tale around the character Clay Thompson and his best friend Brian. Now, the story sets off with an intriguing twist in which both the friends have a near-death experience following a 40-year high school reunion. But this accident turns out as a boon rather than a bane as both of them emerge from death with biblical gifts! Clearly, it's a fictional write-up and I think the author has done a brilliant job by introducing elements of intrigue, romance and suspense. I'd definitely recommend this.
Go give it a read guys and enjoy the thrill as the suspense unfolds !

The book is a light read. It introduces many new characters. The entire plot of the book is very twisted but as it is revealed in the end, it makes it worth it.
It's a fine read with many secretive messages.
