Karen Nappa is an Amazon bestselling author of Seasoned BDSM romance with HEA. Her books are available at the popular retailers and include series such as the Club Indigo series and The Quinn Quartet.

Immersed in the D/s lifestyle herself, she writes realistic albeit romantic stories. When not dominated by her cats or her Master (in that order—even if it earns her a spanking!), she loves going places to discover the stories waiting to be written.

She resides in the Netherlands with her dominant husband, two adult-ish sons—and whoever they might drag home with them—and, of course, her two Chausie cats. If she isn’t writing or texting with friends, she’s probably reading, running, or listening to heavy metal.

Did you hear the good news?
Club Indigo introduces a brand new couple.
And these two are into my favorite kink,Kinbaku!
This is Karen Nappa at their best, yet again, and i love it.

GT is a surgeon that is proud of his work, rightfully so,but when his hobby gets him injured,he has trouble following orders from his colleague.
The advice of physical therapy,is one he hás to follow if he wants to leave the hospital, though.
The first PT he fires on the spot.
The next is Sandra, and her approach is one he can work with. Teasing her becomes second nature when he sees her reaction to it. He’s even sad when he’s recovered enough to let her go.....knowing he’ll probably never see her again.

Sandra hates the cocky surgeon and his attitude.
She takes her work seriously, but she’ll be glad to see the last of him.
He gets on her nerves with his constant remarks.
And if that wasn’t enough, her mother constantly tries to pressure her to do as she wants, and finally find a suitable husband.
When she has the last session with GT,she celebrates by going to the club for a scene with one of the resident rope masters.

GT already misses Sandra, but when he visits his local club, who does he see to his surprise?
He immediately takes advantage and manages to talk Sandra into a temporary contract.
Now he has 3 more months to get to know her more, and show her the real GT....
Sandra has issues,though....and those walls she has,are very hard to get through. Can GT bind his own jūjun’na with his asanawa? Keep his hana, forever? Or is she too blinded to see how perfect they are together?

I spent most of this book alternating between wanting to smack some sense into this pair and wanting to hug them tight, promising it would all get better. Both GT and Sandra are so good at getting in their own way and tripping up, destroying all forward progress they’d made. It doesn’t help that they’ve both got more than their fair share of family baggage to contribute to this new partnership, and Sandra’s is particularly toxic. I loved how fiercely Sandra defends her work. I’m in awe of the effort she’s put into it. I wasn’t a particular fan of her method of conflict resolution though. In Appreciated, GT came across as this larger-than-life super-surgeon, so it was kind of nice to see him humbled and humanized. But, I have to say, he brought most of his worst outcomes on himself: i.e. open mouth, insert foot. This pairing captivated me from the very beginning. The sparks were palpable, there’s so much chemistry between them. I couldn’t help but hope for their ultimate happily ever after. As always, I adore the way Club Indigo shows us the Lifestyle, keeping it safe, sane, and consensual. It’s easy to see a lot of love and research went into this book to make the Kinbaku feel so grounded in the here and now. And already I’m looking forward to the next installment in the Club Indigo saga.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.

This is a wonderfully realistic take on relationships. It is apparent from the beginning that these two characters have differences, so they begin with something they both love: Rope (read: Trust). This proves to be both their dividing line and the source of survival for their relationship.

Blinded is the fifth book in the Club Indigo series and we start off with our main male character having to have PT due to a climbing accident. Sandra, our PT, is determined to help this grumpy patient and then have absolutely nothing to do with him. The only trouble is, he's a member of the Club Indigo, the same as she is, and he is a master of the ropes, which is something she wants to do more. Sandra has her baggage to contend with and GT has more than a few walls to knock down.

This was a great addition to the series. Like with the others, I would say you could read it as a standalone, but to get the most out of it, I would recommend reading them in order. Characters from previous books are mentioned, so I found it helpful to have read their story first.

I loved how Karen Nappa managed to intertwine Sandra's relationship with her mother (dysfunctional, people!!!) with her budding relationship with GT. I found her fears and concerns completely relatable and, as someone who also shuts down and runs away rather than have a confrontation, I found her reactions to be completely realistic. The Colour Run sounded like so much fun, but I would have killed GT for his "little surprise." 🤣

This was a brilliant addition to the series that I loved reading, and I can't wait to see who comes next. Absolutely recommended by me.

(P.S. - please let me find out who was the first Top on the Blind Date night!! PLEASE!!!!)

* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and the comments here are my honest opinion. *

If you're looking for a consensual BDSM romance between two likeable characters, you will enjoy this. Although this is the fifth in a series featuring the denizens of Kansas City's Club Indigo, it can be read as a stand-alone: while characters from previous books appear, they don't have large roles.

Physical therapist Sandra and surgeon GT get off to an inauspicious start when she helps him recover from an accident. Epitomizing the old adage that "doctors make the worse patients," GT annoys Sandra so much during their sessions that she refuses to play with him when he runs into her at Club Indigo. (This happens after he is no longer her patient, for which I was grateful.) He manages to talk her into trying Kinbaku (tying someone up), his kink of choice. The rest of the book details their growing relationship that at times is threatened by Sandra's fear of commitment due to family issues. Side Note: I don't know what Sandra thought they were doing when she insisted they weren't "dating," but, well, see the title.

I'm drawn to this series because it depicts what I enjoy in this genre: consent; subs who aren't doormats and doms who aren't omnipotent; the understanding that both are equal partners in the D/s lifestyle, even if their roles are different; and the relatively realistic plots and characters (if you're looking for six 8-feet tall purple aliens who beam the h up to their spaceship to have their baby, you won't find them here). While both GT and Sandra were likeable and mature, neither was perfect and both contributed to the problems between them. I also appreciated that their conflicts were organic since I'm not one for excessive external drama.

In terms of the erotica, this series' major strength is that each volume features a different kink (age play, TPE, etc), which adds welcome variety. I particularly appreciate that the detailed erotic scenes enhance rather than overwhelm the couple's personal relationship: these are stories with kink rather than, well, kink with little story. Side Note: I hadn't thought to analyze how the kinks serve as metaphors for each individual couple until another reviewer very wisely deconstructed the meaning of rope play within the context of this story. While all BDSM activities require trust, it's interesting to look for deeper connections between the individual book's specific kinks and characters.

If I have any quibbles, it's with three aspects of the prose. First, these authors tend to provide too much extraneous detail that slows down the pace of their storylines. I noticed it less here -- the focus on the mc was tighter than it's been in previous books -- but it still appeared in places (the physical therapy and football scenes). Second, they sometimes introduce plot points that I think will go somewhere and then don't (in this case, Ruby's mother's mugging). And, finally, while the prose was well-edited, there were a couple of continuity issues (I didn't understand why the blindfolded subs didn't recognize the doms' voices; GT claims Sandra slept over only once, in fact, it's twice; and Sandra asks her friends what she should do ). But none of these overwhelmed the content of the book.

Finally, I want to give a shout-out to the Ms. Nappas' disclaimer warning readers that "BDSM is all about Safe, Sane and Consensual. Bear in mind that it still can be dangerous. This is a romance novel and not meant as a how-to on BDSM practice." I know that many authors in this genre assume that readers will understand that these are works of fiction and fantasy, but, in fact, if you look at a cross-section of these reviews, not all of them do. I appreciate this warning and wish that more writers would include them. (Side Note: I wouldn't call this a "medical romance" since there's no medical play.)

4 stars. It looks like we'll get a Domme/sub story next -- which is unusual for this genre.

Note: I adhere to the ratings system as laid out by Goodreads: 2 stars = it was okay; 3 stars = liked it; 4 stars = really liked it; 5 stars = it was amazing. I do not think that every book I read is "amazing;" further, I think that it cheapens the rating system to always assign 4 or 5 stars. If a book really earns the 4 or 5 stars (and I realize that this is, to some degree, subjective), I'll give them -- but it certainly shouldn't apply to every book. YMMV, and everyone should enjoy/rate these books as they wish.

GT, an orthopedic surgeon, broke his hip and leg. Sandra is the physical therapy doctor assigned for his rehabilitation. GT is an arrogant, condescending jerk who looked down his nose at Sandra, even though she is also a doctor. After weeks of rehab, Sandra is glad to be rid of GT, but he is enthralled with her intelligence and feistiness. They accidentally meet at a club where GT tries to start a relationship with her. Sandra was already relationship shy plus the fact that she didn’t like him. But she was attracted to him and agreed to a semi physical relationship with him a few days a week. In spite of herself, she finds herself falling for GT, as he begins to grow up. However, her pushy, social climbing mother only adds to her hesitation. This is a hot, steamy sexy read. The book is well-written and held my interest, even though it took me a long time to warm up to GT. I highly recommend it.

The latest in the Club Indigo series from Karen Nappa, Blinded, has brought us right back into the club with a new couple and a new kink, Kinbaku. Even though this is part of a series, it’s written a way for it to be a stand alone, without having to rely too heavily on past books. There is enough of a back story to appease new readers yet not too much to bore the current readers of the books. Highly knowledgeable in the art and obviously did a lot of research. Just enough couple angst, to make it realistic and draw your emotions in. Another winner for me, and secure further my love of this series. It did not disappoint.

I found Karen Nappa and Club Indigo in a serendipitous stumble, and the books go from strength to strength. GT is a strong-willed patient – and Sandra pushes him all the time, determined to rehab his leg on her terms, rather than letting him injure himself further. And then they meet at Club Indigo – and she’s no longer in charge. She doesn’t want to move beyond play partners though, damaged from a previous relationship and a toxic mother. After his words hurt her, GT knows he has to make amends – but can he? We are back with old Club Indigo friends, we make new ones, and this is another keeper.

This book is part of the Club Indigo Series, but can be read as a standalone. I haven't read any of the other books but I can guarantee I will be reading the rest of the series. GT and Sandra's story has an enemies to lovers vibe, but when they meet at a local BDSM club, sparks fly. She loves ropes and he loves tying women up. He proposes a short, exclusive relationship in hopes that it will become more. Sandra does not true men, has been hurt before and has her guard up. The book has interesting push and pull between these two, a few twists alongtheu way, but overall well written, compelling, and well paced. I will definitely add the Club Indigo series to my TBR list. Fortunately all the books in the series are available to read for free with my KU Subscription.

Great rope work!

My first read of Karen Nappa and I thoroughly enjoyed it! They drew me in to this story and did not let go. GT and Sandra agree to a BDSM relationship, which turns into so much more. The descriptions of the rope work were well thought out and written. I enjoyed both main characters and found myself pulling for GT and his love for Sandra. I will definitely be reading the other books in Club Indigo. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I received this book as an ARC.

This truly is a standalone romance even though it's fifth in a series. I hadn't read any others in the series, and while I could tell some characters were reoccurring, it didn't hinder the storyline at all.

I didn't enjoy sexism as a main conflict, but others may.

The rigging scenes were very well written.

This is my first book by this author and I really enjoyed the story. You have GT who's a very domineering Dom and a successful surgeon. Sandra agrees to a BDSM relationship with GT. The relationship turns into so much more. I love that this Dom can acknowledge his flaws and can apologize for his behavior. This is a well written story and I love the relationship between GT and Sandra. You need to read to find out if GT and Sandra will get their HEA. GT and Sandra are in the same business although at different ends of the spectrum. When she has to help him recover from an injury, she quickly learns that the arrogant jerk does not respect her profession. On the club side, as Dom and sub, they are tied together with more than the Kinbaku they both love so much. One embraces it and the other runs. Is that all it can ever be? This was a romantic, hot read.

Things definitely don't come easy or quickly for these two. GT has his work cut out for him - first with PT, then with Sandra. I enjoyed the pace. It was a good blend of moving the story along with just the right amount of details. The club scenes are hot and time with Sandra's mother a challenge.

I liked the narrators. They were fitting for the characters and had a good range when it came to secondary characters.

A wonderfully well written and narrated bdsm romance read/listen. I think this is book 5 in the Club Indigo series but can be read as a stand alone, since this was my first read of this series...I hope it won't be my last. I loved how these characters came across as real people and not over the top alpha billionaires (although I love those reads too). Sandra has an unhealthy outlook on love but has such a strong will for a sub, where GT displays a humility not often seen in a dom character. Love the story line and flow. The dual narration was perfect. I loved this listen!

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

If there's one thing physical therapist Sandra hates, it's obnoxious, know-it-all patients, and surgeon GT Lewis is definitely one of those. After trying to fire her, he accepts her help recovering from a severe fracture, but that doesn't mean she likes him. He dismisses her knowledge and demeans her job, even though she has a doctorate too.

As incompatible as they are professionally, the kinks of these two Club Indigo members are perfectly in sync -- he's a master rigger in Japanese rope bondage and she's a rope bunny who loves being tied up. Unfortunately, even his apologies won't convince her he's not a total jerk. But when Club Indigo sets up "Blind Date" night (where blindfolded submissives are paired with seemingly compatible doms), the two are matched, and in the dark, they work perfectly together.

As someone who works in health care, I know that the arrogant surgeon is more than just a stereotype. They're not all like that, but enough are to make GT seem like a very true to life character. The conflict between Sandra and GT is very real too. I like the "blind date" concept to pair up single Doms and subs, and would have liked to see more of what happened with the other participants.

This is another wonderful book from Karen Nappa.

We start the story with GT, an orthopedic surgeon needing PT for a hip replacement. Sandra is the PT doctor that comes to help him. GT is arrogant and condescending to Sandra because 'she isn't a real doctor. Sandra wants nothing to do with him once therapy is over. They meet by chance at Club Indigo when Sandra allows a dom to tie her up. GT craves to make her his jūjun'na, a Kinbaku rope master's submissive. When they are paired on a 'blind date' at the club, she allows a try-out period of three months. During those months, she comes to enjoy their time together and to care for him. Unfortunately she has some baggage from her mother in her past that doesn't allow her to take their relationship to the next level. GT has to get over being an arrogant jerk to win the girl. There is a HEA and I love the way the author protrays the BDSM life as safe, sane and consensual.

Not what I thought

I snuck this book into my library. I opened it with trepidation expecting something shameful and "other". Hide in a room and lock the door. Nope, none of that.

This book was not my first BDSM novel. These characters are so engaging!

I've noticed that many titles of this genre have to do with sexual and emotional healing. I love that the characters have a circle of friends who become family.

This is the 5th book in the series, but it can be read as a stand-alone. GT is a talented and successful surgeon and a horrible patient. Now Sandra must deal with him for his physical therapy. What will happen when they meet at a BDSM club and sparks begin to fly between them. Fast-paced read with intense and steamy chemistry. Loads of drama and great characters with lots of depth. I loved it.

How long can you deny being in a relationship before you are forced to acknowledge that it exists? Sandra has grown up watching her mother be a Stepford wife concerned only with appearances. As a physical therapist with plenty of friends and a member of a club where she can enjoy other pursuits, she has no need for a man in her life and is afraid of becoming her mother. GT is a successful surgeon and a patient of Sandra's, who sees what he wants and the chase is on. I liked the character development and the story of their relationship from beginning to end especially as GT's respect for Sandra's profession grew. As for the BDSM aspect, it was pretty tame.

The fifth book in the series, but you can read it without have read the others in the series. It is a standalone.

I really enjoyed the BDSM scene. Rope holds a fascination for me, because ut is such a work of art. having this as the main play really worked for me. Gt was an interesting character. I liked the fact he admitted when you was wrong and would do anything to set things right.

Sandra annoyed me a bit when she kept avoiding conflict and everything that wasn’t going her way. I would have liked to see a bit more grow in that.
