I’m house sitting for a male who had me impregnated in a med lab.
Bergelmir, my secret crush.
That rich, scary devil outbid everyone at the virtual auction and got himself to the top of the list (pissing off a lot of other Hyrrokin) and, gulp, I’m his surrogate. And…now I’m carrying Bergelmir’s baby. But I have my head on straight about this. I’m doing this so my friend can be a father. Because that’s all we are—friends.
But I have a shameful secret I’ve told no one: I wish this baby was mine. And I love that fire-breathing Hyrrokin with all of my heart.
Michele Mills lives in California and leads a life of quiet, G rated desperation with her husband and two sons. In an attempt at a fulfilling, R rated inner life that does not include Disney movies and Nickelodeon; Michele reads and writes filthy romance and, well...filthy romance. And she wouldn’t have it any other way.
No puedo ignorar las malas acciones del héroe en nombre del amor. Esto fue una patada de decepción!
His human nanny de Michele Mills Serie Monsters Love Curvy Girls libro 1
No me interesó.
I'm not rating this book low because of the things that the author wrote about in her content warning, I'm rating it low because it bored me and didn't live up to what the author promised.
The mmc acted like a complete ass, but didn't redeem himself at all (and the fmc forgave him for basically no reason). Most of the book is the mmc keeping things from the fmc, lying to the fmc, spying on the fmc, doing things to the fmc without her consent, etc.
The main characters are also apart for most of the book. They don't have a scene together until 75%. The author wrote that "a large part of the story includes the main characters falling in love via written communication", but the book only shows a few emails and none of them are very deep.
The Monsters Love Curvy Girls series by Michele Mills is fun, adorable, sexy, cheesy and quirky, but very delightful. I enjoyed each story in the series. It’s a cute alien romance and something fun to pass the time.
His Human Surrogate is the second book in the Monsters Love Curvy Girls series. This one doesn’t have a very good introduction. We just jump into the story and I found the writing for His Human Surrogate to be disjointed. Even with that it was still a silly fun alien romance to pass the time. The couple in this one don’t spend a lot of time together. Their interactions are through messages. Chloe and Bergelmir where ok. It lacked progression in the relationship. Not the best in the series.
“President Narcisstone promptly blocked all immigration, in particular from “Shit hole planets,” like mine. Ugh.”
Clearly President Narcissist (not even a clever ploy on the name there) is Trump and the comment is in reference to his US immigration policies and the more bigoted things he’s said.
Hey listen, I don’t like the guy and I didn’t vote for him, but I read sci-fi romance for escapism. I don’t need irl politics shoved down my throat. That was strike one and we were only 10% of the way in.
Then we add in the non-con surrogate shenanigans and yeah, I’m out.
I’m assuming the writer is a liberal, just according to what she wrote about Trump and her previous book celebrating full-figured independent women, so I’m surprised she would glorify what amounts to sexual assault/gaslighting and then have the audacity to market it as romance. That’s not very progressive and as a feminist, I’m super disappointed.
Loved the first book. Hopefully the author takes this as a lesson and does better in the future.
Such a disappointing read, especially because I really enjoyed the first book. Let's get into the things I didn't like in this book
1. Right off the bat I could tell the author was more left leaning politically and I found it a bit annoying. I hate it when authors push their political beliefs into their books, it turns me off and makes me hesitant about reading anymore books by this author.
2. Berg forces the doctor to inseminate his seed into Chloe, where Chloe thinks that she is just being a surrogate to Berg and using a donor egg. To me this is a form of reproductive coercion, and that to me is abuse so I didn't care for that part in the book
3. 80% of this story they were separated and 5 months Berg was living in the attic of the house and Chloe had no idea, also he would sneak into her room while she was asleep and he would rub her clit until she orgasmed, or later on when he would eat her out. She kept thinking she was having very sexy wet dreams.
4. Once Chloe found out, I think she forgave him too quickly
5. Also an editor needed to go through this, because i found multiple spelling errors in this book.
Like I said, very disappointing read and I hope the 3rd book is better.

I want to dislike Bergrlmir for keeping (life-changing) secrets and acting more like a horny stalker than a mate in love - but this is a case of doing bad stupid/thoughtless things for good reasons.
Side note: You can tell the brothers are billionaires, for neither of them has long-lasting self-control despite their military backgrounds. They get what they want when they want; family honor be damned.
Additionally (and I forgot to mention this when I reviewed book #1 - His Human Nanny), it feels like the author is trying to meet some arbitrary word count because the writing is repetitive! Since we read the story from both main characters' perspectives, they do not need to repeat each other - nor do we need a mid-book recap of things that happened only a few chapters prior.
Still, the stories are fun (if sometimes ridiculous and challenging to take seriously).
I was expecting the steam and feels like I got from book one. However, the main characters don't even spend half of the book together. I just wanted more from this.
I was going to rate a 4 but after sleeping on it it gets a two because I feel the deceptions berg put in chloe was too trigger problematic. The fact that he tricked her into having their kid instead of just his is too much in a surrogate story for me. Also the nighttime sexual actor while she’s sleeping is also triggering. All of that detract from what otherwise would have been a story I enjoyed.

3.5 Stars Another good book in this series. This time it‘s about Riley’s best friend Chloe who is not happy with her living situation and wants to live near her best friend, though that’s not her only reason for wanting to live at this so different planet. Chloe also has a crush on the brother in law of Riley. Sadly before Chloe can move there a new law takes in place that doesn’t allow humans to live there and they are band from bounding to native people. However to still try her luck she decides to be surrogate mother, so she can get a working visa. That her crush will be the father doesn’t make the situation easier. This book was quite different to the first because these two are pretty much only in contact through messages. It’s really cute actually but there is also that pleasuring her while she sleeps thing and that whole kinde stalking her thing. That was a little weird but since she really really likes him and he likes her a lot too and he has reasons to hide, it wasn’t too bad. Overall I liked this. Not as much as the first book but it still was great. I already got the third book so I can read that next.
I loved that Berge everyone else gets isn't the Berge, Chloe gets she gets all of him and yes he might have kept some things from her. But he did that to protect her.
I also loved that when she finds out he has lied to her, she doesn't let him get away with it. He has to do the work to get back into her good graces. I am just enjoying these for what they are.
Again the narration is great. I am flying through these books.
Such an interesting and new story! The author certainly puts a new spin on long distance relationships with this book, I think I felt the separation more than the characters did. The distance really made the relationship between these two characters so sweet, and I love that Berg only shows his true self to his mate. Well and maybe to his grandma, she really seems to know everything that happens in her family. I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to find out what happens next.
El prota hace una jugarreta que no está nada bien y se redime sin más. Un sinsentido total y un aburrimiento soberano. La pareja casi que no se relaciona hasta la última parte del libro.
I've been waiting to read this book and as soon as it was published I purchased it. With that said, disappointment is what I felt after reading this book in the series. It wasn't bad, but it left much to be desired after reading the first book in the series. The first flowed and the characters were well developed. In this book, things kept being repeated such as her loving him and wanting to stay, it not being her baby and Chloe's life back on her home planet. Most could have been removed after being stated once.
For me, this book needed a little more time to develop the characters. Chloe and Bergelmir felt one note to me. Her horny and naive and Bergelmir horny and protective. Their relationship had no progression for me and I couldn't connect. Also, I felt the book moved fast such as the months just flying by with no character interaction unless it was sexual.
Again for me this book disappointed me after reading the first. I loved the first book characters more in this book than the main characters. With that said, I will most likely read the third book in the series in hopes that it will be as good as the first.
Just note that the main characters don’t interact with each other personally until 75%. Their primal communication is through texting and the text’s aren’t always written out, mostly summed up and thrown into the plot.
It was just too much. Chloe annoyed me, she was way too whiney and naive.I hated her self absorbed, lazy ass sister. Berg being a lying, stalking piece of shit. Who needs a BIG reality-check and therapy for his behaviour and enormous hero complex + ego.
Him actually impregnating Chloe and assaulting her while sleeping. Chloe forgave him way too fast - not that she should’ve forgiven him in the first place. Like he didn’t need to put any kind of effort into it.
His male should be in prison.
Also the writing was way too repetitive. Plot lines always being mentioned and over explained numerous times in a chapter.
I will not continue this book series. Book 1 was ok-ish but book was just bad.

This is book 2 in this sci-fi, alien novella series and follows characters from book 1. The heroes of both books are brothers and the heroines are best friends. Just like the first book, this one was short and sweet but a lot of telling and not showing. It drops you right into the story of Chloe being a surrogate for Berg and moving into his house to house-sit while he’s away on work (he’s some sort of military/special ops security team). We are told they had a 3-month long texting and video friendship before she moves to his planet and becomes his surrogate but it would have been nice to see that happen. They bond over their love for antiques and restoration work (furniture, homes, etc), Chloe thinks they’re friends but Berg wants her for his “bound” (mate) from the start.
Chloe is in need of money and decides to become a surrogate, when Berg finds out he outbids everyone else so she can become his surrogate (but what he doesn’t tell her is he actually impregnates her instead of just utilizing her body as a surrogate). He wants Chloe as his mate but before he can reveal all to her, he gets sent away for his special ops mission off-planet. They communicate via texts but because of something gone wrong on his mission, Berg ends up returning home but having to hide out within his house (in a top secret bunker in the attic he has created). He ends up living there secretly and watching Chloe from the shadows, while she sleeps, and on video feeds for the next 6 months!, all while continuing to text and communicate with Chloe as if he wasn’t right there.
This definitely has hero-stalker vibes (which is advertised ahead of the read from the author). There is something about the writing style that makes these novella reads really easy to consume but the 2 I’ve read have only been ok with a lot of issues/things I wanted more from so I’ll probably not be continuing the series.
Aliens, man. They do...weird things sometimes. Like hide out in their own house and keep themselves hidden away from the lady they want above all others (while she's living in the house, mind you) because they don't want to put her in danger. Which I get, but I WOULD NOT BE NEARLY AS FORGIVING AS CHLOE IF I WERE IN HER SHOES.
But I'm not, so let's move on.
Chloe's way into Bergelmir. WAY into him. But newly established planetary laws leave her high and dry on that front, so she keeps that little tidbit tucked away. Plus, the only way she can be on planet (with her BFF!) is if she's gainfully employed. The only employment open to humans that she can slide into easily is...surrogacy.
Okay. I'm down with all this and I actually do understand Berg's reasoning as to why he kept himself hidden (communicating via tablet and whatnot so their budding romance can blossom and all that), but I have a harrrrrrrrrrd time with the whole "it really is *their* baby and he let Chloe believe it wasn't" side of things. Dude. You had best become a world champion groveler to make it up to her because that is NOT COOL. Not cool at all.
The Hyrrokin are a little over the top (as fire breathing aliens sometimes are) and their laws are a bucket of monkey turds. BUT...it all worked out in the end. Which is a yay in my book!
The impregnation thing was especially WTF because in the first book, a character ensured a pregnancy happened without the consent of the other party. The character was ultimately arrested and charged for rape for that reason.
In the second book, a character ensured a pregnancy happened without the consent of the other party. Except in this one, it was A-okay? WTF?
Anyway, this was really repetitive and I wanted to like the quiet, brooding, mysterious Berg finding his sunshine human counterpart but this book worked extra hard to make him difficult to like. I'm also really over the whole "we're actually mega rich and using that wealth to do whatever we want" this family has going on. Great job, A+. 3 stars because despite all this faffery, I still kinda want to read the next one lmao
PS Can they please stop describing the curvy FMCs as waddling instead of walking? Great thanks
Things to love and not love 1) BBW (big beautiful woman) book where the woman actually is plus-sized instead of just a little overweight. 2) Hunky military man. Downside - and this nearly killed the book for me - his manipulation of everyone and everything to get what he wants. In the end, she forgives everything without any real confrontation. But then the heroine has a history of letting everyone use her - parents being sick, sister needing money. 3) Beautiful house love for unique houses and antiquing.
Ms. Mills really makes each of the stories of the series very unique through the specialized interests of the characters, while also keeping with the basic demon-looking-alien-billionare-boy-meets-girl romance.
Not really sure how I feel about this one. As a couple Chloe and Berg were sweet. But there was some definite line crossing and stalking going on. Letting Chloe believe she was a surrogate and had signed the rights away not knowing it was her own child. Watching her play with herself, secretly living in the house like a creepy stalker and then touching her when she was asleep. I liked that Aegir called his brother out and that the family supported Chloe when Berg wasn’t there. I’m liking how it’s looking to be a five year reunion where everyone shows up and the passing of a baton.

Took me a while to finish only because I forgot about it. And it still cracks me up how “virgins” are super good with their first times. And no -porn- can only do so much. The story is cute and follows the typical alien meets human, falls in love, and wants baby.
-spoiler- you already know how it ends and theres only one “real” Intimate scene if that’s what you’re looking for. Also if you like stalker lovers, regardless of the situation the female is in, you’ll love it.
This was cute and all, but man having him live in the house for like 6 months and be a creeper standing behind doorways and stuff is INSANE
"Narcisstone" is the main villains name, the corrupt politician and it just made me giggle. Seeing as how the other surnames of the aliens all end with -stone
I wish Berg wasn't such a creepazoid hellbent on watching her and assuming all this stuff. Not a cool guy. He may have been misguided but dude...Jesus Christ.
I love a story that lets you get to know the characters you've met in a previous novel better and they both seamlessly blend together. It's like getting to know a family over years and finding friends you love. Great story and I definitely recommend reading "His Human Nanny" first. It really sets the stage for this one. Good story, great characters, and sticks to the original parameters of the setting. You'll love it.
This was an entertaining read but it felt a little bit shallow because of the nature of the build up of the romance!
The two main characters were apart for most times and there were some complications that made their relationship impossible yada yada yada but there were some pretty steamy moments.
Chloe and Berg find their happiness but not before before some strife, crazy communication, and some obstacles to overcome. Their friendship was nice but I had a problem with them not spending much time together. The story is short and sweet and I loved being transported to a whole new world.
The second book in this series was fun, but I have to agree with some of the other reviews, they spend too much of the story apart. Basically apart anyway. I think that affected the chemistry between them. But it was still a fun read. Definitely quick and sexy.
