Yeah, that was me on national television looking like a lunatic.
I thought competing in a global cooking competition would be my ticket to fame, the perfect launch pad for my culinary career.
Instead, it led to a panic attack on the cold tiles of an industrial kitchen.
Now, I'm licking my wounds on the family farm in Missouri, sleeping all day and ignoring my Twitter feed all night, which is blowing up, of course.
Tall, dark and broody is definitely not on my to-do list, even if he is the older, way hotter brother of my high school boyfriend.
He’s the town grump for a reason, and he claims he doesn’t have time to talk, especially to a city girl.
But I’ve seen flashes of passion. He stares too hard and lingers too long, even when he’s complaining about me.

Going home's always a good idea when you need to decompress or escape from the world. Fanning the flames of newly discovered want between yourself and the local grouch? Mm... Maybe not.
But it's okay 'cause Emma knows the feeling's mutual. Jake sees her as much as she sees him. She wants him as much as he does her. So what's a little sparring with words? And a bit of arguing over whatever? What's it going to harm if that just fuels the need they have for one another? I guess it depends on how wide their stubborn streaks are.
Emma and Jake. They broke the stubborn mold, that's for sure. Yet it worked out in the end. The road to one another wasn't easy--it sure was bumpy--but there was no other way for their story to end except together.
This is my first book by Ms. Harlin and I liked everything about it. That slow burn turned into a mad rush that wouldn't, couldn't, be extinguished.

Burned by Hadley Harlin was certainly a fun read. I mean, if you are ever trying to get a man's attention just pressure wash his barn, milk his cows, and use those fancy cooking skills to make him gourmet macaroni and cheese. The author did an excellent job of giving all of her secondary characters personality and a story of their own without taking away from the main characters.
The story is well written, easy to read, witty, and entertaining with a happily ever after ending. This is my first book by this author but certainly not my last.

This was my first by the author and I really enjoyed - it reminded me of why I love a good small town romance book, and how much I missed reading one.
The plot and the characters were strong, the author did an amazing job with the heroine - she was strong, in your face, yet not overbearing.
The hero - moody, a grump, I would even go as far as troubled, pushing you away at every corner but as long as you keep pushing back.
I wish the heroine would have included a good epilogue, but then again - it's a serious so maybe I will see them in the next book?

In this well written, humorous, Book 1 in the Cooking Up A Celebrity Series has cute characters with good chemistry and humor. These character are well developed and are realistic. I love their story and how their journey had it's ups an downs but they were made for each other. They will either have a wonderful HEA. A good book to read

Emma has come to this small hometown to recoup after a big melt and sets her heart on Jake and saving his farm by diversifying. But first she has to get him on board. And boy is she all in. Poor Jake and the grump that he is just ignores her as much as he can, til he can’t. This fun and exciting love story almost lets you think it’s not happening, but, good read.

Book four in the Cooking Up A Celebrity series a well written story with a very good storyline. I was not putting the book down until I finished it. This is the first book that I’ve read by this author and I can’t wait to read more! The story is very realistic with characters you can empathize with and root for. A wonderful HEA that will make you smile.

This was a cute and easy read. Emma was an easy character to like even if too trusty. Jake was a tough one to like to be honest ornery, gruff and the towns grump.

The great plot was well written and the characters were so well developed that as I turned each page the chemistry between the characters kept me totally hooked until the very last page!

This was a fun read that had me turning the pages wanting to find out what would happen next. The characters are well developed and engaging and the storyline has a smooth flow to it.
