She never forgot her first love. The one she pushed away. Now he's back in Alaska . . . and there's a matchmaker.
Maddie's home contractor abandoned her and left Alaska with her money. She's saved for years to build her dream house and can see her dream vanishing. When a friend says she knows an available contractor, Maddie isn't expecting it to be Mark.
When Mark left for the military, Maddie promised to love him forever, then she sent him a break-up email. Over ten years later, that still hurts, and she’s the last person he wants to be around. The problem is that he accepted the job to take over a house's construction and the owner is . . . Maddie.
Will their second chance bring them together or push them apart?
If you enjoy Hallmark movies, Alaska, and sweet romance with a dash of fun, Finally Matched and the Alaska Matchmakers series may be right for you.
You may have met Mark's brother, Noah, in Accidentally Matched or his brother, Adam, in Crazy About Alaska. This is a standalone book which is part of a series. It's clean and wholesome with no sex or swearing. The author is from Alaska, so she knows the real Alaska.
Alaska Dream Romances Falling for Alaska - Jemma & Nathaniel Loving Alaska - Bree & Michael Merrying in Alaska - Leah & Ben Crazy About Alaska - Holly & Adam
I liked this, there were some moments where I was like really? But it was a short story and I couldn't be too upset about it.
It's a second chance romance, which I tend to like, but I found that both characters did a lot in their mind rather than talking out loud. And that honestly bothered me the most.
There was a little bit of push and pull, which is fine. But I thought it was dragged on for too long. Then there were moments that just didn't line up. And the ending, I just felt like that type of ending was trying too hard. If that makes sense.
I didn't think it was a horrible book, I enjoyed the first one more, but I don't think I'll reach for it again. I would read the ones that follow, but wouldn't buy them. (I didn't buy the first two, they were free on Amazon)
This is the story of a young man who had served in the military and then became a contractor and built houses. His brother’s sister in law suggested a friend who she knew had just moved back to Alaska from Montana could build a house for a friend as he was between jobs. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
Have you ever been set up by a matchmaker? Well, the characters in this book are pushed into each other and the sparks fly. Some good and some not so good! This was a sweet, fun, delightful book to read. I love Alaska and all the beautiful scenery. This author has captured the flair of Alaska. It was written with great imagery and colorful word choices. I loved the dialogues between the characters and reading about all the fun events, and the struggles they went through. This is a new-to-me author but I know I'll be reading a few more of her books. I want to continue on with this series. I think it will be fun to see what happens with all the O'Connell brothers. How their matches will go. Cathryn Brown has a smooth way of writing and it was so easy to read this book in one day. If you like a bit of adventure and a sweet story with romance, then this is the book for you.
A great romance set in Palmer, AK. Maddie is waiting for her dream house to be built. Bad news is that her contractor skipped out with all the money she'd paid him. The house wasn't even partially built. Her best friend, Jemma, had the perfect solution and contractor that was available to work on her house. Surprise when the contractor turned out to be her old high school boyfriend, Mark. Beautiful setting, wonderful family and friends as Maddie and Mark work through all the pitfalls and a happy ending.
I enjoyed book 2 in this series just as much as I enjoyed the first one. Maddie and Mark have history, but not all of it is good. When the contractor hired to build her dream house absconded with her money, friend Jemma picks the perfect man from her past to be her new contractor and to hopefully rekindle some old flames. Mark and his brothers are all lovable characters and while the premise of the story is perhaps a tad unrealistic, it made for fun reading.
I enjoyed reading book 1 so much that I went right over and purchased book 2. I jumped right into Mark and Maddie's story and finished it in one day. A special part of this story to me was that it takes place in Palmer, Alaska. I was able to visit Palmer in the 1970's to spend time with my favorite uncle. Great memories and a wonderful love story made this a really good reading experience!
This is a well written book that holds your attention. It grabs you on the first page and doesn’t let go. It’s a sweet clean second chance romance that has the perfect amount of drama to keep you turning the pages. This book was an absolute joy to read. I received a complimentary copy of this book and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
I loved the characters of Mark and Madeline. I loved the realistic storyline that brings forth even more backstory not just of the main characters but also the O’Connell family, particularly the brothers.
Matchmaking seems to be the goal of so many women in Alaska... hmmmm... Let’s see who is in the crosshairs next.
Really great series! Playing matchmaker this time will be challenging Mark and Maddie were young when Mark went into the army leaving Maddie to decide if she was going to follow him or go to college. Her friends and family advise her to break up with him and live her life! Years later they are thrown together and it is great watching as the hurt comes to head and maybe there is a future !
Maddie and Mark reunite quite by accident years after she broke his heart. They're off to a rough start but decide to behave like adults because Maddie needs his help to finish her house. Feelings eventually grow between them again, but can Mark open up enough to ever trust Maddie again? A story of love lost, trust issues, forgiveness, second chances and a HEA.
Welcome back to Alaska Matchmakers, Book 2 "Finally Matched" by Cathryn Brown. Mark and Maddie were high school sweethearts. When he left to join the military Maddie wrote him a Dear John letter. Fast forward a few years and Maddie's shotty contractor took off so she needs to find someone who can fix her home without costing her more money. Who comes riding to the rescue but Mark.
Communication issues, my least favourite romance trope. It all just feels so self inflicted and avoidable. The premise just made me dislike her entire family. Why would anyone encourage someone to send a Dear John letter? Ugh! I was also frustrated that the crooked contractor didn’t face any consequences for his theft. Mostly ended well. Too painful getting there.
I really enjoyed Mark and Maddie’s story, really sad that after years of saving to build her home, she was cheated out of her money. Maddie should been told, by Mark, how the first contractor had used her money and taken it further. I liked all Mark’s brothers and looking forward to reading their stories.
This author lived in Alaska & describes this country accurately. The mountains & wilderness truly are beautiful. Mark had been hurt but something jerked him out of his anger. She tried to apologize but he didn't accept it. A great, fun story of brothers.
Maddies contractor didn’t do his work correctly and left town with her money. Mark ( who 10 years earlier) had his heart broken by her). Is a contractor who just moved back to town gets involved doing the work with his brothers. He and Maddie fall in love.
I love re-kindled love stories and this one is actually one of the better ones I have read recently. Both people in the couple had suffered greatly from a youthful mistake.
Great, warm and kind characters, an excellent setting and good writing made this a fun, enjoyable book to read. A sweet, clean romance, fine as a stand alone, but the series is taking good shape!
They used to date in high school, and Maddie broke it off when he went into the military. He was hurt then and still is. Now she needs a contractor to finish her house, and he's the only one available.
Mark and Maddie have a roller coaster relationship in this story. Can they forgive each other and heal? Read this excellent book about the power of forgiveness.
This was my first time reading this author and I enjoyed her book. I usually read historical romances But the blurb sounded interesting so I gave it a try. It was a short fun read, perfect for a hot summer under a fan!
Another book in this series. In this one a couple that hurt each other as teenagers meet again fifteen years later . Can Maddie be forgiven? Can they face love again? The matchmaker will try.
I loved this story! It was a great and easy read. Sometimes when you want an easy read with a,great outcome this story was the best with characters from previous stories. That is a pleasure to reconnect to.
This is the second in the series of 5 brothers and their friends and family who play matchmaker. This is Mark and Maddie's story. It's a light romance and enjoyable series. I plan to read the other 3.
Another great book in this series. Loved Maddie and Mark and their story. Enjoyed all the family members and their continuing stories. Loved Bree's baby event. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
