For her husband, Dr. Logan Baptiste, told her in a thousand unspoken ways their love was all he needed. But now, in the face of overwhelming evidence, his co-worker, Kamrie, claims Logan fathered her son.

I ENJOY the camaraderie of the Richardson sisters, and even though they fight/disagree with one another, they always have each other's backs. I MUST say in this book I found them to be a bit overbearing in the situation between Logan and Robin. I found myself yelling mind your business and let them work out their problems. The book was a bit repetitive throughout. I couldn't wait for it to end, I really got tired of reading the same thing over and over. However, I'll still read the third book and HOPE it's a much better read.

I always enjoy the Richardson family drama...although this time robin was getting on my nerves a little bit going back and forth with Dr. Logan....I really did enjoy how much he loved his wife and was going to do everything in his power to win his wife back. The fact that she's an attorney and is well aware of people and their fraudulent and fake documents....to me she should have looked into those documents before she left her husband for six (6) month...Their father was cool...I'm hoping for a book about him....it's time for him to have some fun, he's always taking care of his daughters and making sure they are doing well....Hopefully, there will be a book about him getting a girlfriend....I'm definitely here for the Richardson family saga....This was actually a audiobook, and the narration was fine.

Angst second chance romance.

I actually read book 3 of this Richardson Sisters series (Yolanda’s story) before I read this one. But reading that book, I was captivated by the allusions to the drama between chilled Richardson sister, Robin, and her cardiologist husband, who had been accused of fathering a child at the clinic where he worked. Immediately I finished that book, I had to jump on this because I was obsessed by the premise of a happily married couple who have survived cancer only to be torn apart by allegations of misconduct and paternity backed up by a positive DNA paternity result.

This is probably my favourite book in the series so far. It was angsty, and filled with all the drama, and ugly honest moments and fighting and coming to terms with unresolved issues that you can expect in a second-chance romance. My only issue with this was the bunny-boiler trope. It’s never my favourite portrayal, even of a female villain and the premise of the falsified paternity claims just kind of sounds like the dreams deadbeat dads are made of. To me, it was kinda problematic, but I liked that this was acknowledged in the novel- how this villains actions spoils things for all those trying to get actual justice in the family court system. Ultimately though, I really enjoyed this even though like her sisters, at times, attorney, Robin, had some childish ways about her. I felt the emotions in this book and it felt honest and real and it’s made me fall in love with this series.

Family Matters

Welcome back to another Richardson sister saga, in Won't Go Home Without You we delve into the life of Robin Richardson and her husband Dr. Logan Baptiste. False accusations against Logan have the once happy couple separated Robin filing for a divorce, as Logan with the help of his friend is fighting to clear his name and save his marriage. An emotional read with layers behind the real issues, The three other Richardson sisters were a little over the top for me. Cheris Hodge has once again dealt with what would be considered a taboo issue., that happens in real life.

I received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review, thank you.

Don't leave without your heart

The second story was too good. I knew something was off. I knew the good doctor was being framed for something. Check out the story and see what you think.

Won’t Go Home Without You by Cheris Hodges is the second book in her Richardson Sisters series. Book two is second-born sister, Robin’s story.

Robin and her husband, Logan, are facing a major threat to their loving marriage. Can they regain the trust that’s been lost and grow old together like they planned?

Cheris Hodges continues her success with this continuation of her series. She maintains continuity with the first book. This installment reveals even more of the bond between the sisters. The plot is engaging and the characters are well-developed. I continue to like the sisters and enjoyed their interplay. There is some explicit content, but it is appropriate for the storyline. Won’t Go Home Without You earns a 4 out of 5 star rating. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys contemporary romance.

My thanks to Kensington Books and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book. However, the opinions expressed in this review are 100% mine and mine alone.

what a roller coaster. i really didn't know how this happily ever after would work out, but i was strapped in for the ride with my hands in the air.

pick this up if you enjoy over the top and wild plot swings and emotions, huge declarations, explosive blowouts, and lots of sexy times.

kept my attention despite having some OKAY SURE moments RE the hospital drama but hey, romance reasons. glad these two folks worked it out in the end, and i enjoyed the flashbacks to their college courtship too!

Not my yum, but it might just be yours.

I do need to start with disclosing that I was sent an ARC of "Won't Go Home Without You" by Kensington Books via a Goodreads giveaway with the understanding that I would read and provide unbiased feedback.

Note of caution for the readers who must read series in order to avoid plot spoilers. This is book 2 of the "Richardson Sisters" series and it does include enough plot point spoilers of the first book that you are going to be frustrated if you didn't read "Owner of a Broken Heart" first.

I am going to start with what I liked about the book. I really loved the Richardson sisters' dynamics with each other. They are a gang of four and if you mess with one you are getting all four. They are fun and the book left me very interested in the other sisters' stories. I also think "Won't Go Home Without You" does a good job of showing the emotional turmoil and indecisiveness an individual goes through when trust is broken in a marriage. Ending a marriage is a hard decision and a person spends a lot of time arguing with themselves about it, and this book really does go in-depth into that thought process and the back and forth. Finally, the book doesn't sugarcoat the amount of insecurity that an infertility diagnosis can cause an individual to have, no matter how supportive their partner might be and the fact that it will put stress on a relationship if not addressed openly.

I am will be completely upfront with saying my hang ups with the book are 100% personal preference issues, which is why I start this review with saying "not my yum, but it might be yours" and I make a point to try to avoid yum shaming. However, I am going to call out the things that I did get hung up on, because they are a handful that I actually do see called out occasionally in content warnings which leads me to believe that awareness of this information might helpful to some individuals. First this is a second chance romance, and I normally love a second chance romance. The one exception is when cheating is involved, it isn't a deal breaker for me but it isn't my favorite trope. And while this is a case of alleged cheating that has broken the trust of this marriage, it is the "major theme" of this book and it just as painful as if it had been cheating. So bonus points on high angst writing. However, what really bothered me, and was a deal breaker for my personal enjoyment of the book, was using false paternity claims and false assault charges as devices for one of the villains in the book. It is just something I do not enjoy in my romance reading because of its overall problematic implications about women not being believed when things really do happen to them. Again, these are personal hang ups.

Net-net, Robin and Logan's story wasn't really for me, but I am still going to give "Won't Go Home Without You" 3 stars because I am dying to read Yolanda's hot bodyguard story with Charles, and very curious to see what it takes to charm workaholic Alex.

I just love this series!

Robin Richardson Baptiste left her husband six months ago after receiving information that her husband was cheating on her and had a baby by another woman.
Dr. Logan Baptiste can’t figure out why someone is not only trying to sabotage his marriage but also his career. He would never hurt Robin that way.
Does Robin really believe Logan’s story that he would never cheat on her? Can she forgive him? Is their love for each other strong enough?

Y’all I enjoyed my time with this book so much! The love between Robin and Logan was so sweet and realistic. Seeing the flashbacks of how they met in college and their immediate devotion to each other was the best. I liked how realistic the emotions were between them and how they were able to come together.

This is the second book in the Richardson Sister’s series and I just love this family so much. The sisters really stick together and also allow each other to make their own decisions. Sheldon, the women’s father, is such a good patriarch and it’s great to see a Black family dynamic like this.

One thing I didn’t like was the will they/won’t they. I felt it went on entirely too long and the back and forth got a little frustrating, especially since I was pretty sure which direction Robin was leaning. The resolution to the “mystery” type plotline was a little fast and convenient for my taste. I mean I know it wasn’t the main focus but if they hadn’t gone back and forth about whether they were gonna be together so long, we could have fleshed that out a little more.

Overall, I will totally continue this series and I have questions for the author. Which sister is next? Will Sheldon get his own book? The foundation for last two sister’s romance has been laid over and I can’t wait for them to come out. I highly recommend this series, Owner of a Broken Heart, is the first in the series.

Trust means everything in a relationship, whether you are friends, lovers or husband and wife. When the trust is gone the relationship is over.

There are four Richardson sisters. First up was Nina Richardson sport writer and baby of the bunch her book is “Owner of a Broken Heart”, next up the second sister Robin Richardson-Baptiste “Won’t Go Home Without You”; book 3 is third sister Yolanda boutique owner and finally book 4 Alexandria who helps run family owned Bed & B with the father Sheldon.

Robin Richardson was attending Xavier University studying to be a lawyer where she met her husband Logan Baptiste who was a basketball player studying to became a Cardiologist. Their love for each other is so strong that even with the allegations of DNA results stating that Logan is 99.9% the father of his surgical nurse Kamrie Bazel son Jean who just happens to have Logan’s middle name. Logan continues to deny that he is not the father of Jean. With DNA results hanging over Logan’s head his plate just keeping fuller and fuller. Heart transplant patients are dying as a result of an anti-rejection medicine and Logan is doing his own undercover work resulting in a suspension all while be accused of having an affair surgical nurse Kamrie.

Robin has filed for a divorce and has moved out of the home that she and Logan have made a home. Logan will stop at nothing to his wife back.

Logan needs all the help he can get so he calls up on his best friend former FBI agent Liam for help. Pick up your copy to see how it works out. Will Logan and Robin have a HEA?

Won’t Go Home Without You. Is full of romance, laughter, bickering back and forth (all in the name of love), sex, sisters taking up for each other, father Sheldon being the mediator and just simply loving all four of his girls.

I can’t say enough about this book. It is a must read and I highly recommend it.

I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Won’t Go Home Without You is the second in Cherie Hodges’ Richardson sisters series, and while I really enjoyed the first book and would also recommend it, I think this book can be read as a stand-alone.

With this book, Hodges manages to take a concept that is quite delicate to an interesting place, with a marriage being tested by a paternity claim, although Logan denies it’s his. It brought a new dimension of rebuilding love and trust in the relationship between him and Robin that I had not seen in other books about estranged spouses, and I appreciated how it was handled. Both of them still love each other, and I very much rooted for them as they negotiated the hurdles being thrown at them.

I liked that there was also a light bit of intrigue as Logan tried to negotiate the situation with this other woman and her motivations. He enlists a private investigator to help unravel all of it, and I enjoyed seeing it all come together.

And while the family aspect is still very much a supporting role, I did appreciate seeing the sisters’ reactions to the situation and how protective they were of her, as that is something that felt realistic even if they did go a bit overboard.

I liked this book overall, and in spite of the subject matter, it’s a fun, fairly light and hopeful contemporary romance that made for a great palate cleanser after a few weightier books. If you love diverse contemporaries, I think you’ll enjoy this one.

This book was just short of OK for me. I’ve read multiple books by Cheris and this is my least favorite.

I love second chance romances, but It was hard for me to get into the story or empathize with Robin after learning her husband fathered a child with another woman.

They immediately fell apart, didn’t have any conversation and the waited 6 months (1/2 a year) to share everything she’d been dealing with during her sister’s wedding festivities! Really? So now she’s center stage and her husband is ready to fight for her and upstage the wedding. SMH!

It was a constant back and forth between them that was tiring. Let’s move forward, no I can’t trust you, I love you, but how did this happen?! Really?! What do you want to fo? You’ve had 6 months to think on it, without any facts, I might add.

They should’ve worked more as a team to see what the villainous, manipulative liar was up to and how this had happened and immediately gotten a second test done to prove he was being truthful all along. I really wished more detail would’ve been put into that characters motives and storyline.

You can’t bail out on your 10 year relationship without so much as a conversation. I didn’t like all the ganging up on Logan; his own wife didn’t give him the benefit of an explanation so why did all these other people weigh in on a situation that had nothing to do with them. They treated Robin like a wounded pup, but she didn’t win any brownie points from me.

Typically this would be a 2⭐️ for me, but I’ll give it 3.

REVIEW:
The second installment of the Richardson Sister Series. We meet the second eldest sister Robin Richardson-Baptiste. Robin thought nothing could shatter her marriage, she has a man who loves her unconditional.  Then one day all that change when she received devasting news regarding her husband Dr. Logan Baptiste.  Robin is told that her husband is the father of one of his co-workers, with the evidence that is presented to Robin, she is heartbroken, and she leaves her husband. Logan realizes that he has a up hill battle to prove and convince his wife that he has never strayed from their marriage.  Robin has decided to file for divorce and moved out of their house because Robin feels as if she can’t forgive her husband.  Logan call his friend who is a PI to help him prove to his wife that all of this is a lie.

Overall Won’t Go Home Without You, will bring out many emotion and will let you know that you have to TRUST between each other in order for any relationship to work.  I felt there was so underline issues that Logan & Robin need to work out and to keep family members out of your marriage.  I tell you I want to go through the book and slap her sisters.  As always Mr. Hodges deliver a great story.

Greed knows no bounds like someone wanting wealth without the work!

A deceitful, delusional and greedy nurse sought to pad her future and well being off lies about one man while harboring a secret about the man she really slept with! It is no coincidence that she chose doctors to try to elevate her circumstances what is unforgivable is that she went after married doctors! When she leveled her accusations at Robin's husband Logan, she set herself up for a real fight! She should be glad the wife of the real father of her child offered her a lifeline instead of facing jail for the fraud she committed by using her position in the hospital to access a patient's file she had no right to peruse! She still may not be in the clear since Robin said she is going to file a complaint. I read this story mad. First, I was mad at the lying woman that started this mess, then at Robin for believing it, her family for how they treated Logan without proof and most importantly at the doctor on the take who put his bottom line before the lives of the hospital's patients and his oath to do no harm! I enjoyed the story overall especially when truth rose up and made the difference!!!!!!

Won’t Go Home Without You is book two in Cheris Hodges’ Richardson Sisters series. In this installment we meet the second eldest sister Robin Richardson-Baptiste and the bombshell she just received regarding her husband Dr. Logan Baptiste. The evidence is damning and hard to discredit but Logan is defiant he has never strayed and does not intend to. He and Robin have faced some challenges in their marriage and his love for her has never wavered but grown stronger. Robin feels this incident is unforgivable and there is no coming back from it. While Logan continues to fight for his marriage, Robin must decide to whether to disregard the evidence, trust her husband and fight for their marriage or end it all. Throw her headstrong sisters and their “ready to beat down” stance and it makes for an entertaining read.

Overall, this was a nice read. At times, I wanted to reach in the book and smack Robin’s sisters but I realize they were protective but sometimes it was a bit extreme and can understand some of Robin’s decisions. I would recommend this series.

Marriage in trouble is one of my favorite tropes, so I was happy to win this book in a Goodreads giveaway. The exploration of the marriage and the push and pull of Robin yearning to believe Logan, but being beset by doubts after being given supposed proof that he betrayed their vows, was depicted well as were the family dynamics between Robin, her sisters, and her father.

My biggest problem was that I never really connected with either of the characters. Logan seemed like he wanted to have his cake and eat it too. He expected Robin to just trust him without reservation, even though he'd ignored her concerns about the other woman in the past. When he was initially accused of fathering her child, he didn't go all out to fight the accusation. He seemed to be more concerned with his reputation and standing at the hospital than with his marriage. It was clear that he didn't give enough weight to Robin's anger and sense of betrayal. As for Robin, she was so hot and cold about the situation that it was hard to get a good sense of her character. In the end, the book was okay, but I didn't love it.

Cheris Hodges, Won't Go Home Without You, is a must read. This is the second book on the Richardson sisters. Logan loved his wife Robin unconditionally and he would do everything in his power to make her happy. There wasn't any doubt that they loved one another, but their trust for one another was wavering at times.
The way Cheris Hodges wrote this book it will have you wanting to take your earrings off, put your hair up, and jump in the pages and ready to fight.
And the love aka sex scenes are hotter than fish grease.
I highly recommend Won't Go Home Without You to be purchased and read from cover to cover nonstop.

Robin and Logan have been married for a decade, but the marriage is threatened when Robin receives paternity test saying her husband has a child with another woman. There is a lot of lies in this story. Robin assumed a lot until she finally started listing to her gut and her heart. The one thing I liked about Logan is he always insisted he never touched Kamrie and that she was lying. Logan was a good man willing to fight for his marriage with Robin never giving up on the marriage or her and he refused to sign the divorce paper. In the end the truth came out and Robin and Logan renewed their vows and got their HEA. The best thing about this book is the Richardson family and the close bond between the sisters.

Samantha and the crew is back, but this time from a different location. Sam and the retirement village crew are taking their sleuthing skills internationally. They originally leave for a vacation trip to London, and unexpectanty help to solve a couple of murders while on a mystery tour.

I'm really enjoying this series. The elderly ladies in each book keep me in stitches. Kind of remind me of some elder I know personally. I'm also really enjoying the growing relationship between Sam and her beau. And in between the pages like the other books, Sam's manuscript tells the story of a mystery set in England's past. This was a good and enjoyable story.

Married People Drama!!!

Logan and Robin have been happily married for a number of years until lies and deceit tore them apart. Logan is determined to save their marriage but first he has to get Robin to believe in him again. The tragedy that Logan and Robin suffered, which led to communication issues, also added to the overall issues they were trying to overcome. Once again, love and passion triumphs and Logan and Robin are reunited to fight for their marriage and take on the ones who are out to destroy their marriage and Logan's career and reputation. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait for the next book in this series!!!

When trust is lost in a marriage, what does it take for a couple to have faith in each other again? Won't Go Home Without You by Cheris Hodges is a rollercoaster ride through the emotions as Robin and Logan wonder if they can ever trust each other again. Readers quickly turn pages as the challenges mount and the passion rekindles. 3.5 Stars Marriage in trouble stories will always draw me in, but to be honest, that was one of the only thing I liked about this. Both characters frustrated me to no end. Despite being married for a upwards of ten years, they never talked about the issues tearing them apart and always believed other people before their spouse. I liked the writing style okay and wouldn't say no to more from this author. CW for fertility issues, cancer, and other things that will for sure spoil the plot of this.

Entertainment Weekly refers to this book as ‘A sexy romp with an undercurrent of emotion,’ and indeed it is, after Robin Richardson-Baptiste learns that her husband’s co-worker is claiming that Dr. Logan Baptiste (her husband) has fathered her son. Dr. Baptiste doesn’t recall what has happened with Karrie, but trying to save his marriage will prove to be the biggest challenge his marriage has faced. One night only is all that Robin will give their marriage in the hopes of repairing it—or will things be shattered beyond fixing?

My god.. this story had me invested from beginning to end with Robin and Logan, and all of the sisters , i loved the father as well. I felt like i knew the Richardson family so well. . It had so many twists and turns, and such a satisfying HEA. It just goes to show that faith, love and hope can endure even the craziest of scenarios.

Cherie is great at witty banter and really setting the scene.of Charleston, and it’s rich Black community,

The back and forth in this was exhausting. Seemed like it could have been shorter. I definitely skipped parts. The relationship between the sisters was even more exhausting, the meddling and even after the main characters moved on they were still upset, it was annoying. This was my least favorite book in the series. But I must say I'm still a fan of Cheris Hodges and plan to read the entire series.

This was a emotional and realistic story in the subplot of marriage in trouble books. The portrayal of how infertility can cause insecurity and lack of trust in a marriage is a very real life issue, as is the other awful things mentioned in this book like parental abandonment and bad relationships with untrustful nem ( not the one between the hero and heroine, the other husband that the villain had an affair with).

This book took me out of my reading slump. It did not disappoint at all. I vaguely remember reading a cheris hodges book before. But what a great re introduction to her. This book was everything. From the relationships the character had to the sex scenes. Baby this book was fire and I definitely recommend reading it.

A marriage in trouble and a doctor's career on the line over lies and manipulation that go much deeper than meet the eye. There were a number of eye-roll moments for me, and I really wasn't feeling the sex scenes, but other than that I thought this was an interesting premise and really wanted to find out what was going on and how it would all turn out.

I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway.
