Slade Wilson has come to Gotham and that has the Dark Knight suspicious. Robin, however, thinks the swash-buckling mercenary is just here to help. Is Deathstroke a friend or foe and what are his plans for Batman?
Alan Burnett is an American television writer-producer particularly associated with Warner Bros. Animation, Hanna-Barbera Productions, DC Comics and Walt Disney television animation. He has had a hand in virtually every DC animated project since the waning years of the Super Friends. Burnett's contributions for Disney were largely a part of the 1990s Disney Afternoon, where he was attached to the Disney's Adventures of the Gummi Bears and various projects set in the Scrooge McDuck universe. Because of his primary focus on televised animation, he has occasionally been involved in film projects related to a parent television program. He is a graduate of the University of Florida and has an MFA in film production from the University of Southern California.
Ooh. This introduces Deathstroke the Terminator who strangely never made an appearance in the Batman/Superman adventures or even the Justice League animated TV shows. He's captured perfectly here and there's a nice set up to his motivations at the end...
This is getting a little more complex: the first two issues were Batman vs Lex Luthor, but this introduces a bigger family dynamic as Bruce is working with Tim Drake as Robin and Barbara Gordon as Batgirl.
It also adds Deathstroke, who is trying to get Babs to work with him, and thus play her against Batman. In addition, an older problem is spying on them all...
Got to admit, adding my favorite Robin to the mix isn't hurting me enjoying this series, too.
New stories by the guys who did 90s Batman the Animated Series. For a buck! This issue introduces Slade Wilson to the animated timeline. I highly recommend this to all Batman fans.
