This one was just okay for me. Unfortunately, I didn’t feel a connection to Kent and Alexis, and I didn’t find them very likable... Until towards the end when things were getting resolved.

I think Kent liked Alexis’s shoes just a little too much. LOL

I listened to the audiobook and thought the narrators did an okay job. I enjoyed the female narrator more.

Heather Guimond is a new author to me. Kent Kingsley and Alexis Lane were great characters. Alexis is a romance author who is not afraid to take chances and Kent is the CEO of a Las Vegas Hotel Casino where she is looking at an event.
At first I found Kent to be a tad unlikable, in fact he was a jerk, it took me a while to warm up to him. However having said that I really loved Kent and Alexis together and he grew on me as he did on Alexis.
Neither Kent nor Alexis are looking to become involved and yet that is what happens. The chemistry between Kent and Alexis was at times intense and off the charts. Both are strong, determined people and with Kent’s interfering family, it made for some interesting and funny moments.
Miss communication is rife in this story; will Kent and Alexis take a chance on a future together or will Alexis run?
I enjoyed Ms. Guimond’s writing style and found this book to be well written, entertaining and a fun read and I look forward to reading more from her in the future.

Ok, first off, this one beat out book one by .......this much, lol
Kent, douchebag by far in the beginning, he sure surprised me as the story unfolded. He may be rich and powerful but he's putty when it comes to the awesomeness of Alexis, well her shoes anyway, hehehe.
Alexis, I see her side, he did start off as a, well douche it is. Will she give him a chance? He grew on her too. Grew on me too!
Can two equally stubborn people with bad relationship histories come together for more then just some sexy times and arguing??
Is there anyway the Luck in the air will help them out? Not to forget Kent's amazing and interfering, know it all family!
This cracked me up, kept me intrigued til the end and the sexiness was spot on.......highly reccomend it!!

Heather Guimond is a fairly new author for me but everything I've read so far has been very well written. In this story, we have Kent and Alexis. Alexis is a steamy romance author and Kent, well, he's a playboy full on. Both have issues from their past that seem to interfer with present relationships. The book was funny, sexy, hot and had enough twists and turns that it will keep the reader glued to the pages and turning them until the story is over. I will definitely keep my eyes opened for another book by Ms. Guimond. Her books are wonderful!!

I really enjoyed the first book. Sadly this was a letdown compared to that. Alexis and Kent meet and are attracted to each other. However, Alexis seems to enjoy yelling at him and that drove me nuts. Luckily by the end she wasn't as bad and they got their happy ending.

I loved everything about this book, from Heather Guimond’s wonderful writing style to the story and characters she created to the perfectly casted narrators, Heather Firth & Aaron Shedlock who truly brought the life, from the pages to your ears. This is the second book in the “A Love Between the Pages” series, can be enjoyed on it’s own but I recommend listening to the 1st book too, it is awesome too. This is Alexis and Kent’s story, Alexis Lane is an author known for her “good-girl” romance novels, she also writes Erotica novels under pen name Reina Dare. She wants to increase Reina Dare’s following so she is sponsoring the Limitless Lust in Vegas Convention. The Kingsley Hotel in Vegas is gaining popularity and she is hoping to strike a deal to hold the convention there while offering future bookings. Having no luck getting an appointment with the hospitality manager she heads to the bar for a relaxing drink. Kent Kingsley is the CEO of The Kingsley Hotel, he with the help of his siblings run it and have plans to make it better than ever. He is sitting in the hotel bar when a beauty catches his attention she sits a few stools away and he knew he had to have her and her sexy heels. Alexis first blew him off, she started to warm up to him when a woman approaches him. Thinking she is his girl friend she ups and leaves. He tried looking her up but there was no room registered in her name. I loved how everything plays out in this book, how Alexis does not give him the time of day and how he does not give up. Just when he thinks he has her she pushes him away even further. Got to love strong willed people, Kent even recruits his family to help him win her over. There is never a dull moment in this book, the story flows naturally and it is plotted out nicely with plenty of drama, angst, some laughs, heartfelt moments and smoking hot romance. Heather Guimond thank you for another great story!

I listened to the Audible edition, Heather Firth and Aaron Shedlock are talented narrators and voice artists. They do an awesome job portraying the characters, humanizing them, giving each their own voice and personality, as well as heart and attitude. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they capture and project the characters emotions into their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fabulous listen🎧

I really loved Quick dirty luck it would be the second story that I've ready by Heather Guimond and also couldn't wait to get my hands on Alexis book , she's introduced in The novel approach ( if you haven't read you so need to it's not required though ) I really didn't like her at first in that story but the more time that went on I started to love her characters even more so after this one . Alexis really me meet her match with Kent this two really made since together even though the heroine was a runner Kent chased her every time . Not only is this a HOT romance it has some funny moments put in there that will have you die laughing . I hope to see more of these characters in future love between the pages series and oh wow can't wait for the next one been waiting for it since she was mentioned .We also get to see the couple from book one which I so love because we get to see how they are doing silly grinning over here . I can't wait to read more books by Heather in the future and to see more in this series .

Lawd, I absolutely LOVED LOVED LOVED Quick Dirty Luck so very much, even though at times I was so frustrated! See, Alexis Lane thought she was a magnet for bad men, and there was a lot a truth to that, until she met Kent Kingsley at a bar one night, when she was very irritated at not getting a meeting that she desperately needed. Ironically, it was with him that she needed the meeting, but when he first hit on her, she didn't know who he was. They verbally sparred, it ended with her walking away, he somehow caught up with her, and she learned who he was. They think they're having a business meeting but it turns into more, as their chemistry is off the charts, like I mean I thought my kindle was going to freakin' explode into flames, and then they tried to light his office on fire after dinner. But he's carrying his own relationship baggage, so when they're woken up the next morning, and she runs, he's too shocked to chase her, so it all blows up in his face. Now he has a big battle in front of him when he does decide he wants her for good. Yeah this push & pull was insane, so my colorful metaphor game was loud & proud throughout the whole story. Add in a huge twist, my f-bomb dropping joined the party. And I mean there was a great cast of secondaries trying to help him with Alexis, but she was something to behold on her own, like even when she was being stubborn, I still couldn't help but respect her battle plan. So yeah, I loved every bit of this amazing story, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Alexis and Kent meet and sparks fly, but Kent's past seems to have a way of messing up his chances for sealing the deal on the first night. However he's not dettered and is soon fighting for a do over with his blonde bombshell. Alexis isn't about to give up without a fight especially after she finds out Kent is the man to make her business dreams come true. She tries to fight the attraction, but soon realizes that her desires go deeper than either of them originally thought. When they finally give into their passion things do not end well and Alexis takes off to heal her wounds and move on. If only it were that simple. Now up to this point I was in love with the characters of this book, however how each of,them deal with everything after this point kind of got on my nerves. All of Kent's sneaking around and schemes to get her back seemed incredibly childish and almost bullyish. Alexis wasn't much better with he constant running and secrets. I feel like it would have been a better book of they would have just grown up and talked to one another and we had a chance to see them really fall in love. The last bit after they got back together was sweet and they do make a cute couple I just wish i had more of a chance to read that story instead. It was a good book and I will definitely read another book from the author.

(audiobook) I was interested in this one, because it seemed sexy and fascinating–I love having a look behind the curtain, and following a romance author, who uses a pen name to write erotica, while she organizes a signing event, had me thrilled. And in those points, this book delivers. The steamy scenes are scorching hot, and we get a glimpse at what it is to be a romance writer.

I also enjoyed both narrators. The male reader is especially good with sweet whispering–he gets you shivering. The female reader did a remarkable job, both sexy and strong and emotional when needed. A really good audiobook.

The story itself, I didn’t enjoy that much. I didn’t feel the growing feelings between Alexis and Kent–it was once again instalust, with a side of hate sex. If the characters didn’t keep saying that “there was something more”, I wouldn’t have seen it.

I loved the characters though, all of them. The whole Kingsley clan is delightful.

I realized afterwards that I actually own the first book of the series as an audiobook too, so I’ll probably revisit the characters later.

Entertaining from the opening line, Heather Guimond is a winner with book 2 of her Love Between the Pages series. This features Kent and Alexis. Kent is a hotel owner in Vegas and Alexis is booking his hotel to host an author signing. From the first meeting, we see the sparks fly, but not necessarily in a good way. Kent is that character that immediately got under my skin. He is annoying, yet charming. We all know people like that, and you want to like him, but he just has that way that bugs you! Alexis is the perfect heroine! She is confident and not afraid of anything. Strong woman always are a plus for me. Put these two together and it's combustible. It's a fast, fun, listen, includes some steamy passion and the crazy, yet lovable family that will make you laugh all the way through. Guimond has a true fan with me and I can't wait til there is another audio!

Give this story the team of Aaron Shedlock and Heather Firth and I know it's going to be incredible. Shedlock sneaks himself into Kent, gives us the arrogance in one breath and then eases us into his loving side all with the tone of his voice. Firth shines as Alexis, from her confidence to her uncertainty, her annoyance and her love. It comes through and lets us have all the feels. Together they have created the magic I love to hear.

Quick Dirty Luck is book 2 in the Love Between the Pages series. It picks up after book 1 when the next romance book conference is being planned. It is a steamy, i instalove, OTT, he falls first, romantic comedy. Alexis is a sassy, feisty, stubborn, and curvy romance author who writes sweet romance under her real name and erotic romance under her pen name Reina Dare. Kent Kingsley is the hunky CEO of the Kingsley Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. When she goes to the Kingsley hotel with a proposal for the conference, Kent sees her at the bar and is immediately taken with her. Alexis does not know who he is and tells him off for "oggling" her. The two have a frenemies-to-lovers vibe going on as they are constantly provoking each other. But they also have insanely hot chemistry. Both have past horrible relationship track records, but Alexis is particularly jaded and afraid to love. Kent is a big old cinnomon roll who loves her but keeps making stupid mistakes. But Alexis is tough and quite honestly really got on my nerves at times. She was beyond stubborn and aggravating. Their banter was hysterical, and I loved the entire Kingsley family and how they rallied around Kent's plan to win her back. After all of their drama, we do get a very happy ending. I'm looking forward to book 3.

This was one of the funniest comedic romances I have read in quite a long time! Kane and Alexis meet in a hotel bar, and after a misunderstanding end up going their separate ways. Luckily for Kane, it turns out the two of them have business together. Once they handle the business though, everything in fair game. After a one-night stand and another misunderstanding, Alexis goes home, and Kane does anything he can to bring her back to him, thus starting a series of comical plans that brings Alexis back to Las Vegas and near Kane. With a little twist that I was expecting but at the same time not anticipating, Kane goes into overtime and gets caught with his plan. Thankfully, both Alexis and Kane know that the feelings they have are more than surface feelings and end up exploring them. I really enjoyed this book; I loved the wit and sassy personality of Alexis as well as the comedic tone of the story. Sometimes romance stories have a serious element to them, but I tend to love the funny ones, and this one delivers. I only wish there was an epilogue to give the readers a little insight into what happens for them down the road, but that’s more of a personal issue than requirement.

4,5 sizzling hot, sexy and funny stars! Great story!

I couldn't wait for Alexis story after she was introduced in "The Novel Approach". I didn't know what to expect but this book took me by surprise. Somehow I figured I would see completely different Alexis, more like in the first book. Sexy vixen who takes no prisoners. But looks like if you put her against the cocky playboy the sparks will fly. And this is not only about their instant physical pull. Chemistry and sexual tension between them was palpable. It was scorching hot. They were able to push all their buttons and brake their carefully put together fake exteriors. Both protagonists have the past they want to forget about, but past is also holding them back from opening to the love, to trust another person with their hearts.
I loved how Kent plotted his perfect plan of seducing Alexis and how he miserably failed every time until one unexpected event. This book made me laugh a lot and I spent very good time with Kingsley family, Alexis and their friends. And here's the universal truth regarding relationships if we do not talk about the issues and we cannot open to another person there's no chance for the relationship to work. Will they be able to look past heartbreak and give their relationship the chance?

Yowzers! This book was hawt!

Alexis Lane AKA Reina Dare is in Vegas to negotiate a deal at a hotel. She never expects to meet a smooth-talking and sexy guy. At first, she thinks he's just like all the other rich, douchey guys she's met before, but the more time they spend together and start to open up to each, she realises she's in danger of deviating from her usual rules.

"He's not what he seems. He's way deeper. I let him get to me."

Kent Kingsley has been burnt by love in the past, which makes him wary of commitment, and more interested in pursuing quick flings. However, the seductive, feisty beauty in the bar has him hooked from the get-go.

This was a fun, really sexy story! Alexis and Kent are both relationship-shy but there's no denying their connection. I loved Kent's persistence and possessiveness. He saw clearly, pretty much from the start, that she meant something more than a one-night stand to him. Alexis is a tough, ballsy woman. I loved her sense of self and female empowerment. They both had issues to overcome and deal with but I thoroughly enjoyed their journey. They were electric together!

After meeting Alexis in the first book in this series...I was waiting 'not so patiently' for her book.
Alexia is feisty and fierce and above all else searching for love.. she's both her sweet romance persona and her erotic romance persona...and ultimately she wants both. Although she would never admit that....considering herself to have 'bad taste in men'.

I really enjoyed the push/pull between Alexis and Kent... from their initial meeting it's apparent they have chemistry and lust for each other. The fact that Kent was so honest, about his feelings for Alexis..at least to himself, was quite refreshing and his 'self voice' was just fantastic.. rude, crude and funny as hell. He was a great blend of humour and classic romance book boyfriend... and a worthy advisory for Alexis.

I really enjoyed the introduction and involvement of other Kingsley family members... I'm hoping that we get to see more of them in future reads ( Jasper Jasper Jasper 💯🙌🏻)

This is a smexy read and I really enjoyed their interactions.. I just wish there was more of them...and a little less avoidance.. because when these two are together they are hawt! 🔥🔥

Quick Dirty Luck is the second book in the Love Between The Pages series. It is a standalone following The Novel Approach. I admit, I didn't like Alexis much in the previous book, but getting to know her a whole lot better in Quick Dirty Luck changed my mind about her.

Alexis may be one of the hottest erotica novelists in the game, but she's had zero luck in her own love life, and has sworn off relationships. Still, sparks fly when she meets playboy Kent, who has his own baggage when it comes to relationships. His heart hardened after a brutal breakup, Kent has become quite the playboy. He's cocky and arrogant and rubs Alexis the wrong way from the start, but there is something that keeps drawing them together. And Kent can't keep away. But when the unexpected happens, will these two stubborn people take a chance on love together?

Both of these characters grew on me, and I really liked the connection that developed between them. He really keeps at it, trying to break down the walls she has around herself. And I loved reading the updates on their best friends, Stacy and Gage, from the first book!

Quick Dirty Luck is book two in the Love Between the Pages series, and I just adore that this series focuses around romance authors. It’s a nice twist to have a romance author as the main character who finds love all while dealing with the intricacies of the romance business and convention planning—a great connection for an avid reader like myself who loves to go to book signings. Alexis is tasked with securing a venue in Vegas for an upcoming book event, and sparks fly when she meets hotel owner, Kent Kingsley. Both are strong, independent personalities and their chemistry is off the charts! Yet Alexis’ strong will has her running. Kent is par for the chase, with some added familial assistance, to do whatever it takes to win Alexis over. Loved the game that these two played, the sexual tension and romance was always hot and the battle of wills even hotter!

Listened on audio: Heather Firth and Aaron Shedlock were an amazing duo and gave a great performance, capturing the characters’ dominant personalities while accentuating the humor, passion and vulnerability that made this a very enjoyable listening experience.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. I'm glad we got to see Kent in his element and not just Gage's best friend. When Kent and Alexis meet, it's pretty explosive, they are so much alike that they push each others buttons to a point that things just may get to the next level. Alexis is fiesty, sassy and speaks her mind, and Kent, well he's an ass with a heart of gold now that his playboy ways have settled since taking over the family business. I loved their story, it's steamy, sexy, and hot on every level. The banter is crazy good, both with baggage from the past and each dealing with it in their own ways. Alexis is a runner and Kent, he's not sure if he can open up his heart again, but there's just something when they are together that rings true, they really are a match made in heaven, they just haven't realized it yet. No spoilers, this is a must read and I highly recommend it.

Alexis is a romance writer who has stepped up her writing and now writes erotica. Since she has been hurt before, she has lost her belief in love. Kent is now the CEO of his family's hotel and casino. While in the bar, he meets Alexis but there is a big misunderstanding and Alexis leaves. But they do have business together so they do meet again, hook up and then the morning after, another miscommunication. So Alexis leaves again. Sparks fly between these two but the best part are the way they go back and forth. Kent does pursue Alexis and is trying to get her to come back to LV. Yes this is a hot and sexy romance but it also has such funny humor I couldn't help but laugh out loud. Thoroughly enjoyed this story and it is a quick read. Not quite a novella but you can easily get through it in an afternoon. This book leaves you with a smile.

I enjoyed this story. It had me hoping and wishing for these characters to be able to get together. When they meet they are like oil and water. Alexis/Raine has a strong personality and she is NOT afraid to show it. I have never seen a man have to work harder in his life for a woman. Kent did wonderfully. He didn’t shy away from her attitude or her shoes. He stood up and took all she had to give and was happy about it.

I loved his family! They are such a great add to the story! Sibling love is strongly at work here. Not to mention the parents. I loved that they all became so involved. We also get to see and spend some time with Stacy and Gage (from book 1).

This is my second book by this author. I loved and enjoyed this one. I did listen to this on audio. Heather Firth and Aaron Shedlock are the narrators. They each did an amazing job with these characters. Making this a joy to listen to.

3.5* Kent was the owner of the hotel that Alexis was helping to look at for a book signing event. The event was everything that Kent wanted but he wanted to do it bigger and better than what was planned. It was the weekend though and he liked to have fun on the weekend.

When Kent first sees Alexis, he can't stop staring at her shoes. He REALLY likes them and his imagination runs wild about them. (He does love all of her shoes throughout the book!) There's a lot of push and pull between these two.

Lots of running, lots of questioning if it's right. I think Kent was supposed to be this Alpha guy but he didn't quite make it there for me. He had his moments but only that, moments.

Will these two be able to iron everything out before she runs and doesn't come back? Will him getting his family help him or make it worse?

Hilarious from start to finish and I loved every minute of it! Kent might come off as a d-bag at the start of the story, but he's not a mean, vindictive d-bag, more a playboy-type; he knows he is and owns it, which makes his character both fun and frustrating at times. But what I loved is that he's certainly under Alexis' (and her shoes!) spell and they really are a good fit for each (Alexis and Kent, not Kent and Alexis' shoes).

As always, there are events from the past that have affected and shaped both Alexis and Kent into the characters we meet; and to make things even more interesting, they're both stubborn to the nth degree, so interactions between them are always....lively and spirited! Mix in Kent's family and this is one book that will have you laughing (or at the very least giggling a lot).

I really enjoyed this fun and steamy romance. Kent Kingsley, runs the family hotel/casino. Alexis is a romance novelist but uses the pen name, Reina Dare, for her more erotic books. She is visiting the hotel to talk to Kent about holding an author event there. They get off on the wrong foot when they meet unexpectedly in the hotel bar. Kent is arrogant and cocky and offends Alexis despite their attraction. Kent is determined to get a second chance with Alexis. She is independent and spirited and the more she fights their attraction, the more determined Kent is to make her his. They both have pasts that cause them to be wary, and their relationship is a push/pull of emotions and steamy sexual tension. This is a rollercoaster journey with several twists that kept me totally engaged.
Narrators Heather Firth, and Aaron Shedlock did a great job bringing this story to life. They portrayed both Alexis and Kent with all their strengths and vulnerabilities, setting the stage for all the fun, and passion to come. I was easily lost in their performance.

This book started out alittle different for me, and for the first 4 chapters I wasn’t sure I was going to like it. I was confused or I was missing something, but when chapter 5 started that’s when I really got into the book. I loved the storyline, and the chemistry between Kent and Alexis. They were hot together, even when they were fighting. And Kent liked to fire her up. But he also pushed her to her limits and made her so mad she took off. Now he had to get her back and he realized he finally found a woman he could love and she was it. The book was hot, sexy, will have you turning those pages as fast as you can. I really enjoyed reading this love story. It will leave you smiling. And I am glad to say it’s another book of Heather’s that I have read that didn’t disappoint.

Alexis and Kent met in a bar of the hotel his family owns in Las Vegas. She is a popular romance writer and he is the CEO of the hotel. She does not know who he is, but she is attracted to him almost immediately and he is to her as well. Their chemistry is off the charts!

She gets pregnant, but does not want him to know, but she eventually tells him. She has a fear of relationships and does not want him. He tries to convince her of his feelings, but she does not reciprocate.

Kent's entire family tries to help him win her over with many schemes, etc. I loved his family and their mutual friends, Stacy and Gage from another of Heather's books.

This is such a fun read! It has romance, humor, mystery, suspense, family and fun. I loved it.

I just love this series so far. This was a great read, as was the first book. Kent has just taken over as the CEO of his family's casino, and he's trying to change the look. Being best friends with a writer of erotica, he's hoping this new conference will help with the change he's looking for. Alexis writes clean sweet romance, but has recently started in the world of erotica under a pen name. She's in Vegas hoping to secure this contract and get the deal sweetened as well. They meet not knowing who each other are and are instantly attracted like fire and gas. These two have many up and downs along the way. The story is entertaining from front to back. Quick and Dirty Luck was an enjoyable read, and good follow up to A Novel Idea.

We met Alexis Lane aka Reina Dare in the previous book. She was a sweet romance novelist who secretly wrote erotic romance under a pen name. She is now out in the open and looking to build her brand. While doing this, she meets hotel empire heir Kent Kingsley.

Kent doesn’t do love or relationships, but when he meets Alexis, she stirs something inside of him besides his lust. I won’t go into too much detail but expect secrets and a whole lot of manipulation on both their parts. I loved Kent's family and hope to see more from them in the future.

I can’t wait for the next book in the series—which you’ll find out about at the end of this one.

This was a great story. Kent is the definition of Playboy Alpha that makes a woman swoon and usually lose her panties. Alexis is a writer, a steamy romance writer. Kent and Alexis literally bump into each other and the sparks comence to flying. The problem is their past hurts impacting what could be a great future for them together. Can they each overcome their hangups and find a future together or are them doomed to just be another chapter in each others histories. You will have to one click to find out. What an fun, entertaining, well written story. Well worth your precious reading time and money. I highly recommend giving this one a try.
