What happens when the hard line between life and death blurs? When Joseph of Arimathea took Yeshua's corpse off the cross and placed it in his own tomb he risked everything he'd worked years for. But now Yeshua's body is gone, and Joseph is running for his life. Sister has never known anything but the Lower City slums. She's a creature of the night, so base and inconsequential she's never even warranted a name. Welcome to 1st century Jerusalem, where rumor and deceit rule the day. Step into The Light and walk the ancient city side-by-side with the very first believers. Feel what they felt. Risk what they risked. And find, with them, the unshakeable truth indelibly written across the heavens before time began—Yeshua changes everything. And Everything is never what you expect.
Excellent and captivating read. A follow-up to the List by the same author. This is biblically based and sheds light on what it would have been like to live in Jerusalem during Jesus's days on earth and after. You see the thoughts of many people who doubted, people who did not believe in Jesus, and people who were believers. Loved them both and I highly recommend to believers and non believers.
The List dropped off unexpectedly, but The Light doesn’t miss a best continuing this fictionalized but absolutely true story of God’s ultimate yet ongoing battle for the final victory for the soul’s of men!
Equally on par as the best fictionalized novel taken from The Bible by Buck Storm. You feel transported back the actual settings and places so accurately you can taste the dust in your mouth- all thanks to co/creator Bill Perkins. The drama with all the characters from the list continues and even elevated some of the supporting roles for deeper story development. Again, the drama never lets up and the pages keep turning! Kudos to my newest writing duo, Buck Storm and Bill Perkins. Well done, and yet, 5 stars cannot contain my amazement of your combined artistry and excellence! Phil Calkins
The Bible tells how Jesus rose from the dead, appeared to the disciples and others. He then ascended to heaven. The Holy Spirit came and filled Jesus’ followers with power.
Buck Strom in his book The Light tells what happen during this time through the eyes of Joseph of Arimathea, Nicodemus, and a centurion. I like that we can see might have been happening during this time. I also liked the references to the Old Testament scriptures that show the prophecy of Jesus’ coming. I’m looking forward to reading Storm’s previous book The List.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Surprises around every corner (or turn of the page). Even at the last few pages. I was disappointed to realize this book was fiction, yet it was easy to read 20 or 30 pages at a crack.
I only know Buck Storm from annual publications by Guideposts. His wit, struggles, and very funny descriptions from the people to the perils of his projects keep me searching the book for his name. I want to hear more stories from Buck, and hope you will also get to know Buck Storm.
I have read "the List and couldn't wait to read the Light as a.Christian it was.a riveting story But its a story all should read to truly understand what it was like in Jesus's time. Its riveting compelling captivating people need to understand how magnificent it is to know how we are loved and what cost. These books tell how much we are loved what that cost was better than any I have ever read other than the Bible
This book puts you back in time, when Jesus was crucified…A story through the eyes of the people who were there during that time. The things they felt, heard, and seen. It was pretty captivating. It also named people whom I didn’t know existed during that time, (which motivated me to look these people up & find out more about them)! I believe this is a great book for all to read, believers & non-believers alike!
I have mixed thoughts about the book. It doesn't deserve a negative review because the story line is solid with a good continuation of character development. I do question the title given to the book, however. I would expected more injections of "light" into a storyline which includes the resurrection of Jesus.
This is a great book although I liked The List better. I cannot wait for the third book to be released. Interesting and realistic - what’s not to love. This one had more violence but a happy ending.
A follow-up to the list,I didn't want to put this book down. Highly recommended
. You won't be disappointed.Pick up a copy for yourself, your pastor, and your Christian friends. Get"The List" also. Both books will make you laugh and cry.
4.79 The sequel to “The List” which I read over Thanksgiving break. Really loved this book because it brought in a new perspective I hadn’t considered of Jesus’ ministry and after his Resurrection. Highly recommend it because it was not a long read but encouraging and thought-provoking!
Absolutely loved this book. I listened on audible, reader was not my favorite, but I enjoyed the story so much!! Great character development - amazing details. I honestly felt like I was there.
4.5 stars. Such a great followup to The List. I love how much scripture Buck brought into the book and that he once again made me think about where I would stand if lived during that time.
I think I should have read The List first ——- nontheless this was a very good stand alone read. That makes 3 of BuckStorms books I’ve read, and 3 more are ordered!
