That was an intense, gripping, dark story.
Frankie is a young woman with way too much responsibility. She finds herself with a man, Maxim, who teaches her submission in such a dark, twisted way.
This book made me feel anxious and tense but as a reader you also feel compassion and hope for these characters.
I highly recommend this book if you love the dark side of romance!

Frankie has some emotional and mental issues, she loves pain. When there is pain, she has clarity, she can think clearly. Frankie has so much responsibility for a young girl but she has never done anything for herself.
Maxim is a sadist and this is also from his upbringing.
In Maxims world there is danger and threat. And they have such a battle ahead of them.
Lana Sky writes emotionally raw and riveting stories. The reader feels all the anger and chaos in these words that Lana so painstakingly weaves in her story.
Surrender
Lana Sky's written words draw the reader into the story with delicacy and prose. Maxim is an OTT possessive Alpha male, who takes what he wants, when he wants, as he has been raised. Poor Francesca is still struggling in his perimeters and trying to deal with who they both are and who they are becoming because of one another.
As much as I love the main H and h characters, I kind of fell in love with Dima and need more of his story.
I recommend this series!

This book stunned me at first, not knowing how to react. I've read BDSM books before, but never a sadomascist romance. It may be different and difficult to understand, but it's definitely a romance. Author Sky seems to be making an argument for love in all forms...even in the most brutal and consensual cases. This story highlights the violence in Maxim and Frankie, and how they look for absolution through it. Some of the scenes are cringeworthy, but if you submit to the characters fully, you can't look away. Frankie has taken on so much responsibility at a young age, and harbors so much anger. Maxim is arguably the same. They come together and ignite the world in fire. You may not understand how these two can behave the way they do, but you accept it as their truth.
OBEY:
I'm limp from exhaustion. Reading this incredible story took every ounce of emotion out of me, and I don't regret a thing. Sky has ripped these characters open so we may get a look inside madness. How can they co-exist together? These two seen destined to burn out in a hail of gunfire and blood. But Sky has given them there happiness. The only happiness they understand. What a ride. This is the conclusion to a deeply disturbing story that you just can't look away from.
SURRENDER:
What an extraordinary end to a complicated emotional series. It was time for both Maxim and Frankie to make a stand for what they want and believe in. But are they on the same page? This is a part of the story that redefines family for both of them.
We get introduced to a new family member, who changes the game. You wonder what Dima wants: revenge? Money? Power? Or maybe it's something more nebulous. But it's Dima that's the catalyst for both Maxim and Frankie to make choices with real consequences. You might think they already did, but did they really? Getting involved with Maxim was simple for Frankie, and holding her close was easy for Maxim. They both had a symbiotic relationship together sado/masochism at its core. They used each other, but now it's time to deal with the reality that is chasing them. Do they have the strength?
"“But tell me something. A hunter comes across a wolf and learns to care for it. He feeds it. Nourishes it. And then he locks it in a small cage because it is a difficult thing to care for a wild creature. To understand the freedom it needs. To trust that it will always return to you. That hunter may admire its beauty, and its power, and its brutal strength. But how can he trust that such a creature won’t turn on him? And the wolf, it cares for the hunter as well, you see. But even such a creature can sense the fear in the other. So it tries to deny its nature and pretend it enjoys its life within captivity. And they both die, each never truly knowing the other.” “What are you saying?” The picture he painted is in my head, replaying in a morbid loop. Death. Death. That above quote was said to Frankie, but it applies to Maxim as well. They are both scared of each other...what they mean to each other, what they would do to keep each other, and the huge changes to their respective lives. Even sister Daisy asks about the relationship. Is this all going away at some point? Does the lavishness mean anything? Does she have to call him Daddy? Frankie and her family have never known stability, so why would they believe it suddenly dropped on them now? And is it healthy for little Ainsley to trust Maxim so much? Can Maxim handle the chaos of 6 children and hide the destructive urges he carries?
The emotion bleeds from every page as Maxim holds on to Frankie for dear life. She's become his lifeline...a support system that goes way beyond sex.
“"You want to know why I brought you? Because if I didn’t, I would have lost my $#@% mind, and I would have killed him. I would have lost control…” His voice breaks, followed by a laugh and then a sigh. “You say you don’t know me—but you do. You know when to ask me &@$% questions I wouldn’t tolerate from anyone else. You know how to use those #&@% eyes so that I can see myself reflected in them. You keep me here.” His tone deepens with unsaid meaning. Here. In the present, away from the horror of his past. "
Frankie is wary. Can Maxim be who she needs long term? Whether he's desperately trying to protect her family or trying ice cream for the first time ever, she is watching a man trying to change...FOR HER. Part of her just can't accept it.
"A tendril of lingering doubt creeps in, feeding off the memories of him in that room. The anger. The repressed emotions. Again I have to wonder if this little game of give and take is more than he can handle. Is normalcy beyond his limits?"
When decisions are finally made, we as The reader sighs in relief. These characters are so likeable, even with the rough stuff! You want them to move forward from their startlingly brutal childhoods that defined them too long.
"This is the life I’m willing to sign up for. The trade, I’m finally able to make—a harmony of violence and security. Death and life. Blood and the purity left behind once it’s all washed away."
"(Maxim says) “By hiding behind that name, I could lie to you and claim that it was all I knew.” The line of his jaw tightens as he captures my waist, dragging me against him. Near my ear, he confesses, “Even before I saw you in that dress… I knew what needed to be done. What I needed to sacrifice to keep you. I’ve done it.”"
I loved all the psychological warfare used, and no one does it better than Sky. Some of the emotions you will feel reading this are dread, ecstasy, sadness, happiness and anxiety. Because you live these characters as you read this book. I felt gutted after reading it in only the best ways. I was pleased to find the next book Sky is releasing is Dima's story. Because wow, he's made an impression!

Review for Book 1 SUBMIT
Ok. This book IS and probably always will be my absolute favorite book! I love Lana Sky. Her books are phenomenal! I look forward to each and every one of them. The Maxim series will always hold a special place in my little black heart.
Frankie and Maxim's story is well unique, definitely dark, raw, twisted, fascinating, and emotional.
Frankie is broken and at 19 years old has had it very rough. Taking care of her siblings the only way she knows how. A new client offer drops into her lap and the money is too much to refuse. Maxim has special tastes and needs and he is ruthless! Honestly the first time I read this book I was not expecting it to be as dark and twisted as it was. I could not put it down. I'm not going to spoil this book for anyone but you NEED to read it. Maxim is everything you want in DARK, twisted love. Thank you Lana for bringing the world Maxim & Frankie. 5 stars all the way and definitely 1 click anything this author comes out with.

Obey is dark, and twisted in the most brilliant of ways. I love this series so much and its so close to the release of book 3 my nerves can not wait!
Obey dived into Frankie and Maxim's relationship on a much deeper level and let me tell you this book is so much darker then Submit.
These two characters are raw, emotional, and broken in so many ways and you learn more about Maxims past and what shaped him into the ruthless monster he is now. You see Frankie continued battle with her self.
I now feel I know Frankie's inner demons so much better, not only with her own feelings but with everything that shaped her into who she is today.
All she wants is freedom but at what price?
And then there is good ol Maxim, who is ruthless in every way. We get a glimpse into his past when he tells Frankie what has happened to him in his childhood. All which has molded him into the monster he is today. I can't hate him for his actions. I know I should but you have to admit he does try and Frankie keeps going back for more. After all she needs the pain and Maxim is more then willing to deliver.
Lana Sky's writing is Brilliant. She has been my favorite author since I have discovered her. Every one of her books are phenomenal will always be a special place in my heart for Maxim and Frankie and am so anxious for Surrender!
Review for Book 3 SURRENDER
Oh my black heart needed this book. It coudn't have came at a better time! If you haven't read Submit and Obey (books 1&2) it makes a lot of sense to read the books in order. You definitely don't wan't to miss out on Frankie and Maxim's crazy world of Darkness. Frankie has come into her own by the end of this series. We watched her grow and become who she is , I love her character. We learned so much about Maxim in this story and I loved seeing how Frankie made Maxim become more human. He is pretty ruthless FYI. Also two new characters were given life and I am dying to know more about them and how they intertwine with Maxim and Frankie in the future so hopefully this isn't the complete end of Frankie and Maxim.
But once Maxim and Frankie finally have learned to trust one another. They discover that they are Stonger together and are ment for one another.
Lana Sky has created a brilliant ending to a phenomenal story that leaves the doors open for new stories to emerge. I love her brillian mind so much. I will anxiously be awaiting the next release by Lana!

FREAKING AMAZING DARK Series!

TWISTED EXPLOSIVE EMOTIONS!
A Twisted web of emotions that will knock you on your butt suck the breath from your gasping lungs and demand you endure more as the words invigorate a desperate hunger to keep the pages flowing as the dark twisted story takes you under it's suspense filled spell refusing to let you go until the cliffy ending that has me screeching profanities at an empty page that continues to have its claw sunk deep into my racing thoughts praying to give me the answers that have to wait until I can get my greedy hands on book two. A dark twisted mind blasting emotionally gripping read that will shock delight and will put a doubt have you thirsty for more.

TWISTED DARK Nail Biter!
WOW! I'm speechless shaken to the core but absolutely fricken want more. It's violent, hot, and one heck of an intense emotional rollercoaster ride of suspense that is in your face and impossible to put down. The writing is exceptionally well down that you see every vivid dark word and feel it all drenched in spine tingling shivers all while peppered in goosebumps from fear excitement and an overwhelming sadness that looms over the severity of this dark demanding read.

Destroyed the edge of my seat as this brilliantly written story created chaos, lust, fear and compassion from me. It hits you right from the start never letting up as the and Brutally freakin words words shoved into my face hitting every shuttering nerve ending causing endless chaos in my heart and mind that doesn't know whether to run and hide but knows if I don't escape there's know way to get to the end unscathed. You fear it, you revolt it you feel every impacting word with a bruising force that holds you hostage shoving every word in your face and like the greedy bittch that I am I open wider and demand bigger bites escapebut my it's insanely addictive, grueling, vile, fierce, intense, insane, cringe worthy on steroids, shocking heart pounding thunderstorm of emotions that plague every of color of the rainbow and at times have no idea how to comprehend. The twists are relentless just like all the books in this series. Their hard well paced in your face down your throat gripping addictive and have you craving more all while riding the edge frantically turning the pages.
It's so damnn dark with a twisted passion that has me on the sidelines waving my damn pompoms cheering for a HEA that Frankie and Maxim desperately deserve.

Submit Oh wow what an incredible intense story with amazing character development Maxim a true sadist with very unique tastes and wants beware and yes he goes there and Frankie a woman just trying to survive life and finds so much more about herself. I could not put this story down it just sucks you in and I loved every single minute of it, not knowing what is going to happen next, there is no remorse or gratitude for anything money talks big and he takes and she gives so much, I really loved both of them just trying to figure Maxim out and what he was thinking was a puzzle. I thought it was very unique and I want more.
Obey thought I loved Submit but oh boy this one takes you on a wild ride of emotion that grips you on every single page it is dark so be prepared for anything because that's what happens. Maxim and Frankies arrangement is brutal and heartbreaking but also pain and loyality fit right in there at a big cost, Maxim is very unpredictable and a very intense character a force you done want to screw with but I loved how Frankie can almost read his actions and moods and what to expect because he is down right terrifying but the way they interact in the only way they know how is beautiful to them. Frankie is an outstanding character and so strong I cant believe it myself and I really feel and admire her as she is finding herself a little at a time but its still a struggle she has endured so much. The writing is beyond anything you can even think of its that good and I love love these characters hard and cannot get enough.
Surrender There are no words totally surprised this was outstanding and every page and character was incredible way beyond what I was expecting, were talking heartpounding to the extreme that sets you on edge and consumes your every thought and emotion.
The intensity of Maxim is still there and we get to see some humanity in him at Francesca's touch I love how she is able to read his expressions now as they try to find a way out and learn trust and become one.
Oh and the new family characters I'm so curious to know more. Just pure perfection in every word.

This book follows the journey of a dirt poor Frankie and How she got involved in the world of violence masochism and lies i.e. world of Maxim..
This book was one heck of a emotional ride for me even though I am not a fan of masochism but the whole story line was interesting.
Fair warning this book is not for frail heart but give it a try you are gonna love it..
Book2-
The second installment of the Maxim series continues the story of Maxim and Frankie. It is as usual dark and gritty with masochism and violence as the theme usually these type of books are not my thing but as usual Lana once again suck me into her novel..
And I really enjoyed the ride . Mind all the violence and masochism is consensual between the couple . I loved the whole emotional ride and can't wait for the next book.

I volunrarily reviewed a copy of "MAXIM" TRILOGY OMG!!! This is one dark twisted addicting storyline full of suspense, intrigue, danger, highly erotic dark twisted sex scenes, intense emitions, twists that make for a phenominal read you don't want to miss.

Submit Dark,twisted,violent,insane,amazing...they are all words. Nothing can prepare you for reading this book and while this book is all of the above, is also thrilling and addictive. One moment you can feel trapped and terrified and the next you start to see the real face of the monster. Lana gives you bites and pieces of the characters and by the time you finish building the puzzle you realise that the true nature of them was there from the begging, you just didn’t see it. This book is haunting, is madness hidden beneath a well crafted mask, but above all is a skilled piece of art that will have you holding your breath until the very end. And at the very end you will crave “Obey”. That’s how addictive this book is Obey It captured me so much that I don’t even know how I got to the end of it so quickly. It was beautiful. They were damned to hell before they even met,they fell together in the madness and in the end they rised like one single twisted soul. All they have to do now is to accept it... Once again Lana Sky wrote a beautiful book that had me holding my breath so many times. If you didn’t read yet, READ IT NOW! It’s so so good. Surrender The final book of Maxim XXX and it was pure gold! The evolution of Maxim and Frankie is absolutely stunning and the plot is amazing. Submit - Loved this dark and intense read. Maxim and Frankie are great characters and their story is filled with suspense, drama and so intense and emotional. The characters have great depth and their story really draws you into the read from beginning to end. I loved it!
Obey - This is the second book in the series and I do recommend reading them in order. This is an incredible dark read with such emotion and intensity. Maxim and Frankie are such amazing characters, so broken and damaged but wanting to survive. In this read we get to glimpse more into who Maxim and Frankie really are and why. Frankie is such a strong character and you instantly can sympathize with her and how she is doing anything she must to protect her family. I loved it!

Maxim and Francesca have an intense chemistry but Francesca has her siblings to raise and keep safe. We also learn more about Maxim’s life growing up which makes you ache for him even more. This trilogy takes you on one dark and twisted ride. If you are looking for warmth, sweetness and cuddles; my advice is to keep looking because this is not the book for you. If you enjoy books that embrace the darkness and everything that can encompass, sharp edges, rawness, grittiness and harsh reality, then grab a copy because Maxim and Frankie's story will satisfy all of your cravings. Maxim and Frankie are both so broken that my heart cried for them both. Their attraction and chemistry is so powerful and hot, that you are left wondering if love and affection will be their salvation or lead to their ultimate destruction. Danger, suspense, drama, passion, pain and raw emotion all play a part in this gripping tale that is filled with brutality, no easy answers and every choice has the potential of creating dire consequences. I found it exciting, entertaining and incredibly enjoyable. I am choosing to post an independent, impartial review.

Look back to where this story begins and stand amazed at its trajectory. Only a master storyteller could lead us on such a journey.
Plotting, character development, setting, mood, theme, conflict and solution. Each story element is tended and grown and harvested with precision and clarity - something Francesca was always searching for. In the end, she was awarded normality in the most non-normal way. In a way that included a monster of a man - Maxim, and his criminal empire. In a way that included 6 children in that demented world in a manner that would preserve their innocence. In a way that a sado-masochistic relationship would develop, grow and put down roots. In a way this author - Lana Sky told an incredible, moving story that has become one of my all-time favorites.

Started Off interesting
The way the first book started was very interesting. I liked that our "h" was no innocent virgin. She was hardened and though and seem to be able to hold her own with the "H" who was physically and psychologically damaged. But then it started to drag on with a lot of word salad to stretch it out to three books and a series continuation of a character in the first book the I didn't find interesting. Now I didn't care for this story but I have read this author before and have enjoyed her books.

This was one of my favorite series. Book 1 was my favorite. An intense story about two broken lovers who find one another. This isn't a love story but it is a dark story about how two people can learn to accept each other's shortcomings.
Frankie and Maxim were such a rollercoaster. Sometimes, I was ready to give up but by then I was all ready addicted to these two! Filled with angst, and some hot sexy scenes, I couldn't put it down!

Addictive!!
Maxim and Frankie are not your typical romance couple, that's for sure! They will grab you by the throat and not let go until the last word of the last book and still you won't want to say goodbye!

What an intense, twisted and captivating book by Lana.
I was very excited to start this book as i had heared a lot about it from others, and i can say that its quite the ride, its too much in evey aspect. the dynamic lana manged to create between the main charachters kept me on edge always and intrigued me to see what could possibly happen next. this is defiently much darker than any of Lana,s previous books but as usuall its still an amazing roller coster that shouldnt be skipped.

Obey is the 2nd installment in the XXX MAXIM series, it follows where the first book Submit left off. It has the the same dark and twisted feel to it, its felt quite violent but fragile at the same time and the way the story unfolds is amazing.
The characters there are developed really well,Frankie is my favourite.
The book is quite enjoyable and the ending leaves me waiting for the 3rd part.

overall, i think that this was such a great ending to this series, I absolutely loved it and I loved the character development that got here, and all the plots and twists along the way, I also enjoyed the new characters that were introduced here.
I highly recommend this series for anyone who enjoys this genre of dark romance.
