I love the story and the plot line. However to much dialogue can be a little to much. I voluntary reviewed this ARC after receiving a free gifted copy.

I have not read this book and I will not read it. God tells us to guard our minds for a reason and I've learned that his rules are always what's best for us. I'm posting this so I can warn others because the author has the gall to list this as Christian fiction. I've copied the way it's listed so you can see that it really is listed that way. Here's all of them and then I'll show you what else the author says about the book.

Threshold of Destiny has an interesting and enjoyable plot. It contains quite a few twists and surprises. Unfortunately, the lead male character becomes overbearing and rather rude, especially to the woman he loves. She allows herself to be talked down to and accepting of his moody attitude. The book definitely needs an editor to cut some of the dryer text, as well as, correct multiple grammatical errors which throw me out of the story. The story is unique when compared with the books i usually read.

So Threshold of Destiny is a very interesting book. I really liked the story. The Mysterium is a new, fresh idea, and a very intriguing one at that. I also liked the idea of Operation M, which I won't expand on because I don't like to give spoilers. I will say that the undercover operation and its purpose was a new spin for me. (Vague, I know, but read the book!)

That being said, I wish this book was actually split into two books, or that there had been a prequel book to take some of the pressure off this one. For me, it was a little too long, and there were a lot of details and ideas, which was great, but a little overwhelming for just one book. In some places, I felt like it was unnecessary to have so many details or some of the conversations, since they didn't really advance the characters or the plot. It made some of the passages slow, which bogged down the pace, and which made me want to skim read.

My only other sticking point was Tressa. I wanted to like her, she seems like a nice character, but sometimes she was just ditzy and a little juvenile for her age. Both of which would have been fine, but I don't feel like she grew as a character, not deep down. She faced and overcame a lot of adversity and her world was shaken up, but I feel like she was still a little too immature at the end.

I agree with another reviewer that said at times the book was 4 stars and at times it was 2 stars, I would just add that at other times it was a solid 3 stars for me. I can't wait to see how Ms. Chapel develops as a writer and what other stories she has to tell. I would recommend anyone that likes a little mystery, a little romance, and a little paranormal check this one out.

I found it hard to rate this book because during some bits it was 4 stars; I was really enjoying it and in the story and other times it was 2 stars. I really didn’t like the main character Tressa; most of the time she seemed a bit ditzy and I wanted her to finally step up, but she never fully reached that potential I felt she had. Also, I hated the way Holt talked to her and I’m not a fan of their instant love.
With all that there was some really interesting concepts that I hope get explored in future books. The unseen world was really interesting as were some of the Psychic abilities that were presented in this. It just felt like nothing really reached its full potential in this book. I am open to reading more books in this series as they come out, but not one of my all time favorites.

This first book in The Mysterium Secret Series by Linn Chapel was not your normal paranormal romance story as it had a very interesting twist to it, which of course I will not reveal to you now. The characters were clearly established and fleshed out throughout the book. The plot contained both romance as well as suspense, danger, and adventure. I must also say that this is a book that is to be read rather slowly in order to absorb the meaning of the words as they are from both past and present experiences. The poetry is a very nice plus for the reader to simply enjoy or skip as they so choose. I look forward to book number 2 in the series. This is a voluntary review of an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from Hidden Gems Books.

Threshold of Destiny is a fantastic beginning of The Mysterium Secret Series. Linn Chapel writes in such a way that you can believe that all of the events in the storyline can be happening today. She injects a subtle level of intrigue that draws you in. The characters keep you engaged. This book hits the buttons of suspense, romance, mystery, and paranormal action in a very balanced way. Chapel makes the paranormal believable and fitting in a modern world through characters that are realistic and very much a part of this world. Book 2 in the series has much to live up to.

It took me a while to become drawn into the story but when I did it kept me reading. One thing I loved about this book was the Catholicism in it. As a Catholic myself I felt connected with the characters, especially when they spoke some of the Latin phrases and the stories of the saints they spoke of. That aspect was awesome.
I also loved Tressa's relationship with her brothers Peter and Luke. Their protectiveness over her, such as Peter's distrust of Holt, was admirable, even if unnecessary since Holt is awesome:).
All in all, this was an intriguing story with mystery, adventure, and romance.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I liked this. The fight and action parts could have been better, but they are not what the story is about. This reminds md a little bit of the first Twilight book with more maturity and a slight twist.

I like both the main characters, the side characters were ok, but it is the pace of the book that was a bit too slow for me. I did also like the twist of the predator and prey.

I think there is s lot to be explored in this series with no shortage of characters to develop and mysteries to solve.

I received a free copy of this book from the author as an ARC.

This story has a little bit of everything from parallel universes to espionage, vampires, and romance! While reading this I kept thinking of Buffy and the Initiative in season 4 (I think it was that season). It was different and unexpected.

It started out really good and for a vampire book I almost wanted to continue, but I'm not big on vampires, but if the first few chapters are any indication, I'm sure those who don't mind vampires will love it.

This is a book about Vampires and how they find out how to return back to Humanity. Very good story and exciting to also include a good love story.
