5+++ THE SPOILED PRINCESS AND THE BROKEN PRINCE STARS

'FRAUD' is the second full length New Adult | Romance book in Lily White's 'Antihero Inferno' series. It picks up where the previous book left off. Spoken in 'dual perspectives.'

“fraud; noun
A person who intends to deceive others”

Gabriel Dane aka Fraud is the monster who has tormented Ivy since they were at the age of nine, you see she witnessed something he never wanted anyone to see, let alone get out, so she's been on his sh#tlist ever since.

1

In highschool Ivy needed something swept under the rug she sought Tanner out asking for a favour, now ten years later he's calling in that favour. And now the inferno boys are coming out to play, and she's under Gabe's radar again and he's going to destroy her.

It's a long time to sit on a ticking time bomb, waiting for it to explode. Unfortunately, now the countdown has reached those final numbers, and the force of the blast will tear me to shreds.

This author years ago became one of my unicorn writers, one that no matter what she wrote I would read it!! So needless to say that this series became one I fell in love with from the get go.

I give up!! I really do!! How can I put into words how good this book was, it won't do this book any justice, this book, this series, has gone beyond my expectations, Fraud gave me everything I ever could've asked for, Lily White has just gone from strength to strength and taking us readers hostage.

I have never snort laughed so much as I have reading this book, their antics are priceless! Like a game of chess, each trying to out wit, out play the other. A crazy game of cat and mouse. This is us, it’s what we do. The best kind of whiplash. The best kind of laughs. The best kind of feels..It’s so funny watching it all unfold!

158327025115149002-1.gif

When these two teamed up and put Tanner in his place! Perfection! I had tears of laughter pouring down my face! Priceless! Enemies to lovers is one of my most favourite tropes and Lily delivered this Perfectly. Apart I loved these two characters but together they were dynamite!! God I adore this authors words, unique isn't in her arsenal of words because she just obliterates it, each and every time. She writes to the beat of her own drum, and I'm along for the ride!! I can't get enough of this series!! I am a woman obsessed!!

I went from hate to love!

Though I really like the bully romance trope, at the beginning of this book, I had the same issues with as with the first book, Treachery. This series is planned to be nine books about the nine guys of the Inferno house at Yale. They have nicknames based on the nine circles of hell. This one is about Fraud (a.k.a. Gabriel) who is an accomplished liar. He was friends with Luca in the first book, though behind that friendship we knew that he was really just a foil for Tanner’s cruelty but they both had the same agenda.

The problem I had at the beginning was the fact that these guys are such manipulative jerks. For much of the book I really hated Gabriel. This surprised me because I liked him in Treachery. Though we find out in this book that everything he does is a fraud basically. His being genial and an all around nice guy is all a front and behind that he is more devious than Tanner even.

In treachery and at the beginning of this book, I really disliked the fact that the inferno guys are basically jerks because their fathers force them to do things like get information from people. I just didn’t get why they don’t tell their fathers to get lost and ignore the guys. Since the fathers have been evil since day one and never have done anything but use and abuse their kids. Also the fact that these guys are behaving nearly as bad as their fathers. However, this book did offer explanations (not excuses).

“For Tanner, this is about Luca. But for all of us, it’s about revenge against our fathers. We don’t need their money or their enterprise, but what we do need is the ability to teach them a lesson for all the shitty things they did to our lives”.
“Until we have what we need, we have to continue playing puppets that march to their orders, but once we have enough to bring them down, the charade ends and we’re free”.
“Could we walk away now? Technically, yes. But that’s too simple a solution when we’ve spent a lifetime being pushed around”.

Gabriel is a liar, Ivy knows he is a liar and that she can never trust anything he says. They have been pulling pranks on each other since high school and they hate each other. Gabriel hates Ivy for knowing too much about his background and Ivy hates Gabriel for taking out his anger meant for his father on her. But they are also attracted to each other.

I liked that Gabriel loses his attraction for her when he thinks she is just a socialite with no ambition and no brains. I like that he is attracted to her because he sees her as an equal and he knows she can give as good as he can. I thought Ivy was great, she is strong but knows her limitations. She had reasons for being a socialite financed by her father, but really wanted to be independent.

I really liked the fact that Gabriel really owns his faults. Like the quote above where he owns up to wanting revenge on the fathers of the inferno guys. He says sure they could get out from under their father’s thumbs now if they really wanted, but they really want to make the fathers pay for what they have done. Gabriel is the same way about other things. He owns up to how awful he is. Granted that is not an excuse but there is something about being bad and owning it that I like, even though he may not be willing to change. So I completely changed my tune about Gabriel from the beginning of the book to the end!

I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

I hate to break this to you, Ivy, but payback is a bitch.”
Smiling at that, I turn my head just enough that the corners of our mouths touch. “I hate to break this to you, Gabriel, but so am I.”

This series has quickly become my book crack of choice and I'm officially obsessed. I've said it after reading the first book, and I'll say it again, because these books are seriously crackalicious. Like finger-lickin' good. You need to read these damn books is what I'm telling you here. Seriously. Stop whatever else you're doing and read it. READ IT. You'll thank me after. Trust me.
A broken prince. The spoiled princess. And a war where the players had two different objectives.

Gabe is the epitome of a broken prince. He hides a wealth of pain and dark secrets behind his charming smile and lethal lies. The man lies as easily as he breathes and is the go-to when it comes to the inferno boys needing someone charmed into their bidding. He's handsome, cunning, and the ultimate liar. Where the rest of the Inferno men look their part, Gabe is deceiving. Because he looks like the easy going one, when he's anything but.
He’s just a monster disguised in gorgeous wrappings. A man that wouldn’t know the truth if it slapped him in the face.

Ivy has been his favorite pawn to play with for years. Their back and forth begins when they were just kids and Ivy saw something that Gabe punishes her to this day. But Ivy is so beyond a pawn. This is a woman that gives as good as she gets. I'm saying the woman is fiendish in her own right and I absolutely loved how much hell she gives Gabe. She doesn't take any of his BS lying down and when he hits with one of his twisted games, she makes sure to hit back twice as hard.
The war we have is a drug, and I’ve always been an addict.

Ivy is impossible not to love. She's fierce and takes no sh*t. She's beautiful but vulnerable with plenty of daddy issues the daughter of a powerful yet corrupt aspiring politician can have. She wants to be the good girl her father needs and leaves behind her party girl ways in the past. But Gabe also brings out the worst in her. And when he comes calling for an old bet, well, the gloves definitely come off on their games.
We’re two opposing forces, strong enough when we’re together that lightning cracks the pristine skies, and the earth shakes beneath our feet. We’re destructive. Disastrous. The blinding chaos of a tempest storm.

Ivy once went to Tanner for a favor and now years later, the Inferno is here to collect. But Ivy is faced with an impossible choice of doing the right thing and betraying her father or running from the truth that keeps creeping its way up.

This is most definitely not meant to be read as a standalone. There's an continuing story arc that continues through each book. So while each book is a new couple, the story line continues. Secrets continue to emerge regarding the truth behind Luca's father's death and the involvement of the guys' fathers. It's a dark and twisted game full of twists that I couldn't get enough of.

Gabe and Ivy burn up the pages together. Their chemistry is incendiary. I loved their hate lust almost as much as when they give into the temptation and burn up the sheets together. I loved how Ivy's fierce nature balances out Gabe's twisted charm. She makes him work for everything. For every little morsel of trust she grudgingly gives him with time. I'm so invested in this series, it's not even funny. Every time I finish a book, my need for the next one is rabid. I just can't get enough. Of course the man I'm absolutely dying for (Jase) will be second to last. But I'm absolutely giddy to get my grabby little hands on Ezra's story next.

If you're looking for a deliciously twisty and sexy romance with plenty of angst, chemistry, and all of the banter, you need this book in your life!

Spectacular, Hilarious and Smartness personified. The book, the characters and the author are undoubtedly the flavour of this season!
THE most anticipated book of my reader life because I just fell Head-Over-Heels with Jerome Gabriel Dane IV,the two faced liar in Treachery. This smirking, lyin-Ass Rascal just stole my heart. He could charm the bees off the tree with his silver forked, smooth running tongue. The best thing I loved was his laugh when he did something naughty and boy did he do some awful shit!!😂😂
The Cover alone is worth a million bucks and sums up Gabriel/Fraud 💯
"My body slides down the door as I laugh my ass off at the expression I saw on his face."

description

Trust Gabe to go and and stick his fist in the Hornets nest aka Tanner😁
Ivy Callahan gives you the warning right on the first page, but did I listen.....nooooo!
I was smitten, I was mesmerized and I was in Lurve🥰🥰🥰
"Oh sure, he’ll walk up to you with his peacock strut, his tail so high and wide that you are mesmerized by all his pretty colors. But I can promise you, that behind his charming smile and those bright green eyes, there’s a man who plans to wreck your world without one ounce of guilt for doing it."

description

The pranks they play on each other, the hateful, sarcastic banter, the tête-à-tête hits the gong on the hilarity meter!
What sets apart this story from the overcrowded pond of "Bully/Boys of?? Romances" is the dextrous intelligence and superior sensibility that Lily possesses. She is the undisputed, original Dark Queen and here she effortlessly slips into the comical repartees making this book a surefire page Turner.
She paints their hateful magnetic chemistry with Vivid colours which shine brilliantly as they bang heads or uglies.
“We challenged each other. And each time one of us stepped up to accept the challenge, our colors became brighter. Richer.”
Their love sprouts wings and flutters all through the story, hidden beneath the cloak of enmity.
They are Meant-to-be, fated, written in the stars kind of a couple, just with razor tongues and handcuffs......oh and chickens. Lots of them!!!

description
description

Ivy is a witch!!😂 she's the perfect opponent to Gabe and she gives it as good as she gets and then some. I LOVED HER! Her Sass, her chameleon personality as she slips in and out of characters at the twirl of a hair lock had me, Gabe, Tanner, Sawyer, his dad, her dad, the world gobsmacked!! This girl is super intelligent, plays Gabe like a harp with subtle manipulation. I think she could be a poster girl for the phrase- By Hook Or By Crook .
"She’s a mystery wrapped in pretty feathers. A thousand different flavors of the same person, each one more tempting than the next." I've rarely come across a heroine who was so entertaining and conniving, but adorably endearing too. The way she flips right in front of your eyes...it's magical
I wish this book gets optioned for a movie, I'd love to see Ivy come alive on celluloid.

description

Her wink, her smile, her kiss, her flirtation, right before she jumps out of windows constantly had me laughing out loud all through the book.
*sigh* I could go on and on, but I'll blatantly push this book right in your face- READ THIS BOOK /SERIES
The end was softly sentimental, I had trouble deciding who was the biggest Fraud!!
“Team Inferno?”
“Yeah, I was going to have t-shirts made.”

Open the damned Merch Store Lily!!!!!!
You have your work cut out for you girl - try and Top Gabe Muwahahahahahaha
5 Bottles of lube for Fraud

3.9999 stars ✨
It reminds me of one underlying problem I’ve had when it comes to her:
There has never been a moment when I didn’t want her as much as I hated her.

fuck, i'd forgotten how much i loved this couple 😭

what this book has:
🌹 childhood enemies to lovers
🌹 off the charts chemistry
🌹 sexual tension
🌹 great banter
🌹 AN AMAZING HEROINE! and she has a backbone 😌

my thoughts are all over the place and it's probably the reason why i didn't manage to write a coherent review the first time i read this 🤡 but i'll try to make as much sense as possible. first, you should know that this isn't really a standalone. i'd recommend at least skimming through book 1 (what i did 😗✌), because even though each book features a different couple, all the events in this series are interconnected.

but to make things short, this book starts with Gabriel (H) and Ivy (h) reuniting 10 years after high school. they've always hated each other and were infamous for their pranks at school, always taking them one step too far. Gabriel is part of a group with eight other guys (they each represent one circle of hell💀 bye don't say anything) and i swear these guys have the biggest daddy issues ever, because they're all basically their fathers' slaves and help them with whatever evil thing they're planning (but dw, the guys are secretly rebelling against their dads 🤡). what did they ask for now? information on Ivy's dad. and since Ivy owes them for a favor they did for her in high school, she's pulled back into Gabriel's life.
“How long has it been, Ivy? I don’t think we’ve spoken since high school.”
“You mean when you found your car sunk to the bottom of Kevin Landry’s pool? It has been a while, hasn’t it?”
I feel him grin against my cheek, the sweet smile of his that is as much a lie as the rest of him.
“My fault. I should have parked it better.”

now, is the plot good? honestly... no. it's ridiculous how these 27-year-olds let their fathers dictate their lives. i suppose there'll be a good explanation for that at some point. BUT, ridiculous plot aside... Ivy and Gabriel are a fucking serve 😍
“I hate to break this to you, Ivy, but payback is a bitch.”
“I hate to break this to you, Gabriel, but so am I.”

THE PRANKS. ARE. SO. GOOD!!! it's not long after they reunite that these two fall back into old habits, and it was so fun to read about it. Ivy refuses to do what they're asking of her, and Gabriel is determined to bring her down, sooo 😌😌😌 cue the chaos.
I love the way her devious mind works. Ivy never does anything standard or ordinary. The pranks she plans against me are an art form, and I admire the way she’s always surprised me as much as I surprised her.

Lily White did an excellent job with their back story. she didn't include flashbacks and i swear they're not needed at all, you understand all you need to know about what went down between them as you read. they're constantly talking about it, not only between them but with other characters, too. sometimes it's unnecessary to split a book between past and present chapters, and i'm glad she managed to tell everything that was needed about the past without the need to go back and forth in time.
“It’s too bad I hate you so much. You’re not bad to look at. I wouldn’t mind finding out how nice the view is without your clothes.”
“As if I’d let you see all that. You’d fall in love, and I’d never get rid of you.”

I LOVE IVY SO MUCH. she was amazing, fav heroine material, 100/10. every time she fought back she added ten years to my lifespan 😍 Gabriel was so fucking stupid whenever he underestimated her, cause she always got the upper hand again. but really, if you love heroines with a decent backbone, you'll love her. i only didn't like the fact that she did nothing with her life adjsjk she really was a spoiled heiress. but it's fine, only the best heroines are jobless💅
“Pray,” he whispers against my ear, but it’s only his name that falls off my lips.
His teeth nip my earlobe.
“I think I like my name on your lips most of all.”

the chemistry. omfg, the chemistry between these two. it's truly the reason why i can overlook the messy plot (that and Ivy), otherwise my rating would be much lower lol. but the desire between them was palpable. i also loved how possessive Gabriel was, even while hating her or wanting to mess around with her. nobody else was to fuck with her other than him 😌
The sound that rolls over my lips is carnal, my eyes closing as his mouth drops to my ear again to remind me, “Those sounds are mine, Ivy. This perfect cunt is mine, too.”

but he could sometimes be so unexpectedly sweet too 😭
“You have the most beautiful body I’ve ever seen,” I admit before my mouth tastes her skin, the salt of her sweat from running a burst of flavor against my tongue.

Regarding Gabriel, I liked him, but he drove me insane at the same time. there's a lot of back and forth in this book, mostly from him. it takes him too long to realize what we all know and there's some unnecessary drama until he finally catches up with the fact that he loves Ivy. he also takes it too far with the lies and becomes annoying. so yeah, the plot is a bit of a mess, the pace can be weird, Gabriel sometimes acts like a child, and the ending is kind of unsatisfying since the bigger plot probably won't be resolved until the last book (🤡), but but buuuut—
“I love the fight in you. So much, in fact, that it’s always made me think of just how much fun it would be to fuck it right out of you.”

i don't have arguments to justify myself, only quotes 🥺

honestly, this was such an enjoyable (re)read. even with all its issues, i love this couple so much. i'll only forever be mad that so Lily White please give me an extended epilogue or something with this 🙃 but i'm glad i decided to read this again and get the hype for this series back, because Shane's book is releasing soon 🥰 and low-key can't wait for more IvyGabriel crumbs lol 🧍‍♀️
She laughs. “Such a gentleman.”
“Only for you.”

The guy on the cover looks like he has crossed a line of sanity after playing another of his mind games. That megawatt smile is a trap. This book features a broken prince and a spoiled princess takes us on a tale of lies, deciet and love.

Gabriel Dane is of smile and poisonous lies. Most are charmed by his easy going self. His is cunning and his humor is a disguise that protects his vulnerability.
Ivy is a good girl when she needs to be. Daughter of a corrupt politician she has daddy issues and is burdened by the rich socialities. Beautiful and witty she would rather be a party girl and independent than pretend to be a puppet for society.

"Destroying each other’s property?
Yes, we’ve done that.
Public embarrassment?
Sure thing.
Semi-permanent body alterations?
Been there. Done that."

"Our games only got crueler after she saw the horrible ugliness of what resides beneath a practiced smile and quick wit.
I struck out because the pain and embarrassment were too much, and she struck back because I deserved it."

Gabriel and Ivy met each other when they were nine and since then it was always pranks and humiliation for each other; never leaving an opportunity to push the other down. None should fall between them for it was a battle of wit and intelligence of...childish antics.

"This attraction is a fatal virus to which neither of us are immune, one that infected us when we were children and has slowly chipped away at everything we are.
And while I still want to destroy her, I can’t fight the need to taste her in the process."

But beneath the hatred is hidden an explosive attraction just waiting to be expressed. Ivy can't resist when Gabriel is such a gentleman but she never loses the opportunity to rough him up. Gabriel's hatred towards her multiplies with each prank for she knows his truth, his actual persona. Does Ivy want to be saved from Gabriel? No she would rather he chase her and when caught those scenes are mindblowingly hot. But them together is explosive, even Mother Nature agrees.

“Do you think if I kissed you now, an earthquake would stop us?”
A tremor runs through me at the rasp in his voice, the rough edges teasing my body with the sexual frustration I know he feels.
“I’m sure the ground would open up and swallow us whole. We are not supposed to be together. It’s an affront to the natural order of the world.”
I feel his mouth grin against my cheek.
“Maybe I need to take you to a place where no fault lines exist, and no volcanoes are nearby.”
Laughing at that, I answer, “Then it would just be a tornado, a hurricane or some other natural disaster. Because that’s what we are.”
He sighs, and those lying eyes drag back to mine.
“I suppose you’re right. It’s too bad I hate you so much. You’re not bad to look at. I wouldn’t mind finding out how nice the view is without your clothes.”
“As if I’d let you see all that. You’d fall in love, and I’d never get rid of you.”

I like Fraud more than Treachery mostly because I was never bored. Gabriel and Ivy kept me on my toes. Their childish antics had me laughing. Ivy is no damsel in distress, she doesn't eat shit and sit quiet. Gabriel is devious to the core and considers her as an equal. I think I may lose a star for Treachery maybe when I re-read it in future because Fraud totally triumps it. For now let it sit and look pretty.

Holy heck! This is one of the best enemies to lovers book I’ve ever read! It’s the real deal filled with twists and turns, characters that will have you wanting more, and a hero and heroine that will have you laughing and gasping as they battle it out between them.

Image may contain: 2 people, shoes

I absolutely loved the interaction between Ivy and Gabrielle. From childhood they had pranked and plotted to one up each other. They have a history filled with actions that would have most people crying “Uncle” and bowing out. I liked the way this author gradually let us see some of the pranks they had pulled on one another rather than dumping it all on us at one time. This couple were fierce when it came to winning.

Ivy was a surprise in so many ways. She was definitely more than capable of holding her own with Gabe. Her character didn’t so much evolve as was slowly revealed throughout the story and I loved her strength, intelligence and ingenuity.

Image may contain: 1 person, sky and closeup

Gabe was just as delicious in this book as he was in Treachery, but this time we get to see what makes Fraud who he is. Watching him move forward in fulfilling Inferno’s plan often had me anxious regarding what actions he would take or grinning at his antics to corral Ivy right where he wanted her. He was an awesome hero exhibiting a strong protective instinct when it was called for, as well as a touch of jealousy when the occasion arose.

When this couple finally allowed their anger and hatred to boil over into passion it was like a nuclear explosion! I’m sure my finger tips were singed as I turned pages while Ivy and Gabe ignited the pages. The other members of Inferno show up a little here and there throughout the book and some of those times had me laughing hysterically. I’m used to Ms. White writing dark books and while this is far from a romcom, this was one of the most lighthearted stories I’ve read by her.

There is no doubt I absolutely LOVED this one and if this and Treachery are anything to go on, I suspect this whole series is going to keep us on our toes.

4.75 Stars!

☞ I'm not in a reviewing mood right now but thought I'd share this real quick.

✅ Enemies-to-lovers E.X.C.E.L.L.E.N.C.E
✅ Extremely strong female lead who gives as good as she gets
✅ Amazing chemistry
✅ Hot sex

Hopefully, this is enough to convince you, if not your loss lmao

Why not 5 stars?
Theoretically, this book is a 5-star read. If I ever reread Fraud and still love it as much as I did the first time I’m gonna bump up the rating. Other than that there's nothing to criticize. I could hold it over the book that the plot didn’t make much sense to me because I didn’t read book one (☞ you should though if you value a coherent plot) but I’m not gonna do that because the romance alone was more than enough for me.

If you’re into enemies-to-lovers, READ THIS BOOK. You will thank me.

4.5⭐️. I really wish these books weren’t so long. But otherwise I’m loving the Inferno boys.

“Thank you,” he whispers against my mouth, pure truth in his voice.
“For?”
“Never letting go.”

“I met you when you were at your worst, and I never let go. I held on. Fought back. Distracted you. Challenged you. Fucking made you see me every time you were lost in whatever bullshit your family was doing to you. And I did it because I saw you. Not the mask. Not Fraud. Not the liar. You.”

“From now on, I’ll be the person standing beside her, the strength following behind her, the person building her the fuck up.”

The Inferno Boys-Antihero series:
This series is about nine guys who have been manipulated by their fathers all their lives. On the surface they are jerks, but that’s because they are puppets being controlled by their fathers. They are working towards revenge, but it takes time and impeccable planning.

Each guy has a nickname based on the nine circles of hell. This is Fraud’s book (aka Jerome Gabriel Dane, IV)

Synopsis:
Gabe and Ivy met when they were nine years old and when Ivy tried to give him a popsicle because she saw his cut lip, he pushed her down into the dirt. That started years of tormenting each other with somewhat cruel pranks and pushing each other’s buttons.

- ”Can you imagine what it’s like to be bruised and bloodied only to be shoved in front of another person whose life is lived on a cushioned pedestal? There she was, the spoiled princess, in her pretty blue dress with her white hair tied back in ribbons and two popsicles in her hand. And there I was, the broken prince, with a busted lip and no outlet for my anger. Ivy saw the truth that day. I hated her immediately. She became my outlet. Not that she was a victim from that day forward. Ivy gives as good as she gets, which is why this war has lasted so long.”

- “We hated each other,” I remind her. A small shake of her head. “No. We challenged each other. And each time one of us stepped up to accept the challenge, our colors became brighter. Richer. We’re bold when we have something that makes us feel alive, but muted when life becomes-“ “Boring,” I answer for her.”

They were definitely not friends, but underneath the masks they both wore they were very much alike.

- ”I think the truth is that for as much as the spoiled princess and the broken prince hated each other, it’s a simple fact that we wouldn’t let go because we were the only people who could distract the other from the heavy weight of our lives.”

Overview:
- Trigger warning: none
- Do you need to read previous books in series?: Yes. This series will have a continuous thread that will probably resolve in the final book. All characters are integral to each story.
- POV: Dual POV

- Who is the Hero? Gabriel (28) (aka the Broken Prince)
- Gabe has the moniker “Fraud” because he has the easy smile, the charming ways and people tend to trust him. However, he wears a mask and most people don’t see the real Gabe
- ”I’m the darling of the group, the easy smile and fast friendship. People want to trust me, probably because I’m the most laidback of the bunch. The man you can tell all your secrets to because I’ll never use them against you. And if you believe that, you’re an idiot.”

* The following words/phrases were used to describe Hero: two-faced liar, witty charm, silver-tongued devil, arrogant, hiding behind a mask, broken, beautiful, soulful, humorous, laid back, patient, playful, cunning,

- Who is the Heroine? Ivy (27) (aka the Spoiled Princess)
- Her father is the Governor and Ivy always believed he was a good guy. Around 74% he proves her wrong.
- Raised among the elite and wealthy, her life has been under a microscope and filled with certain expectations, proper behavior and highbrow manners. She loves her family and feels trapped by that love. She doesn’t want to disappoint them, but she is her own person and often rebels. The balance has been hard to find.

* The following words/phrases were used to describe Heroine: wild child, temptress, fascinating, clever, devious mind, stubborn, a fraud, doesn’t back down, brilliant, wears a mask,

- ”instead of our fairytale beginning with Once upon a time, it was dipped in misery and spun through with lies. A broken prince. The spoiled princess. And a war where the players had two different objectives. He hid behind the mask of never being hurt. And I hid behind one that pretended to hate him.”

- h virgin? No
- First time they kiss: 12%
- First time they sleep together: 34%
- steamy? Yes. Descriptive bedroom scenes and great chemistry
- OW/OM drama? No
- H/h cheat? No
- Time apart? No
- Did I skip pages? No
- Big secrets? around 60% Ivy finds out Fraud was behind something impacting her
- Did I cry? No
- Did I laugh? I snort laughed quite a bit. Some really good snarky humor
- Did I swoon? oh yes!!!
- Cliffhanger? Not for The Spoiled Princess and The Broken Prince, but the “father revenge” story didn’t resolve
- HEA? HFN
- Epilogue? yes. It sets up the next book
- Recommend? Yes! This series is filled with chemistry between not only the H/h in each book, but the guys have a special bond too. Drama, twists, intrigue and some great one-liners make this a great story.

- ”It took us this long to discover we were fighting the chaotic winds that clawed at us to tear us apart. We were fighting the rain that pelted and froze our skin. And we were fighting the ground that shook and opened, attempting to swallow us whole. But we were never –ever –fighting each other.”

- “For as much as we’ve screwed with each other through the years, we’ve developed a healthy respect for the challenge of this game.”

The following are my thoughts about this book:
- The stage was set for what kind of pranks Ivy pulled when the last book had a scene where she left Gabe hogtied and naked on Tanner’s lawn. I couldn’t wait to get to Gabe and Ivy’s story

- The timeline of this book parallels the first book. So there are some overlaps that made sense once I realized they were happening simultaneously rather than this book being chronologically after the first book

- I loved Ivy. She didn’t take crap from people, was confident but yet had a vulnerable side.

- After reading book 1 and getting introduce to Gabe he was everything I was hoping for. He had a ton of great one-liners and also had a. vulnerability that made him downright swoony

- Some of Ivy’s pranks when they were in high school: she sunk Gabe’s car in a pool, filled his locker with sex lube, hid a glitter bomb in his backpack, snuck 50 live chickens into his house right before he was planning to have a massive party (which she was not invited to).
- The above made me love this girl. She was no simpering wallflower cowering in a corner. She was resourceful and perfect to keep Gabe in his toes.
- ”As aggravating as her pranks can be, they are also awe-inspiring.”

- “I love the way her devious mind works. Ivy never does anything standard or ordinary. The pranks she plans against me are an art form, and I admire the way she’s always surprised me as much as I surprised her.”

- I really liked that one character wasn’t stronger than the other. Gabe and Ivy could both hold their own with each other and it brought out both the best and worst in each of them. They had great banter.

- I don’t think the continuing story moved forward all that much and just led to more questions.

- I loved these two.
- ”Thank you for challenging me. And thank you for always making me feel alive.”

Quotes
“I’m wearing a bright smile like it is a life jacket. Clinging to it as if it’s the door in Titanic that Jack could have fit on if Rose would have moved over.”

- :) Is there anyone who doesn’t think the same thing.

“Do you believe that shit?”
“Shit doesn’t talk to me, and if it did, I wouldn’t believe it,”

“Lawyers make incredible criminals, only because we know the laws well enough to bend or break every one of them.”

“My cock is so dead at this point that a priest should be arriving shortly to read its last rites.”

“The girl I once knew would have rather sucked face with a piranha than let me anywhere near her.”

“If she would just stop talking for a few hours, I might forget she has the sparkling personality of a goldfish.”

“We’ve always had that effect on each other, though. It’s as if our life energy isn’t quite complete on its own, but when combined, a slow pulse becomes a frenetic hum, the surge of it always stealing my breath to leave me mindless.”

“You are so fucking dead. I’ll start picking out your coffin now.”
“Make it pink with sparkles, and I’ll haunt you from the grave.”

“that doesn’t mean things aren’t hella awkward or as shaky as a chihuahua on meth.”

“Breathing isn’t necessary because he has always been my air. The influence that gives me life. The man who painted all my colors and showed me who I am.”

“He smiles again, and I see the truth of him. It’s like sunshine finally breaking through the dark clouds.”

* Beta Review by Ratula *

GAH!! I swear Lily White's inferno series continues to blow my mind. I AM OBSESSED with this series!! She killed it with Luca and Tanner but Ivy and Gabriel took the cake, the crown and whatever else you can find. Fraud was hands down 5 Star Magnificence!!! Just when you think you know what is going to happen White will throw a handful of secrets and a  exhilarating roller coaster at you and you don't know what's heads from tails. I died for Gabe and Ivy's deep, tumultuous connection and lost both my head and my heart to them. Their fiery chemistry, spitfire banter and their deeply ingrained enemies/lovers relationship will have your head spinning!!

Gah!! Fraud is legit everything you want in a story and is absolutely nothing you will expect. Lily White is the QUEEN of mind games and red herrings and just when you think you figured something out - jokes on you! This story must be read after Treachery as it is NOT a standalone, but trust me, you will love every minute of the Inferno boys. Having read only two books so far, my head is twisted at all the secrets, lies, truths and ultimate revelations. This is one of the BEST series I have read in a long time and we still have loads to go. #Oneclick this story asap as it is pure perfection!! Bravo! 5 stars! ~Ratula

***

From their brief snippets of interactions in Treachery I knew Ivy and Gabriel would practically melt my kindle in Fraud. And I was absolutely correct!

Good googly moogly, I don’t even know where to start. These two are something else. And that’s putting it mildly. Their sexy, snarky, sneaky, smart relationship was brilliantly exposed. Sinfully delicious as it unfolded.I don’t think either of them has been truthful—with themselves, their friends, the enemies—for so long that they don’t really know just what is the truth.

Certainly couldn’t be their deep-seated desire for each other. Heaven’s no. Not that! Because that would take away the years of resentment and cat and mouse play. And shine too bright a light on the “real” villain in all this.

And the real villain is still to be exposed. Sure, we all think we know what’s going to happen. Yeah, not with a Lily White book. Nope. She’s taking us on a long, dark, dirty, sexy, fun, wicked ride that I cannot wait to see how it ends! Now onto Violence . . . Bring it, Lily! ~ Missy, 5 stars

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Type: Book 2 of 9 from Antihero Inferno series
POV: First Person - Dual
Rating:

Gabriel Dane and Ivy Callahan had been at each other’s throat since they were nine years old. What started as an innocent pushed turned into an all-out war to one-up another as they grew older. As their past mistakes started to creep in, they were forced to reassess everything they believed in or lose the essence of who they were on the inside.

I loved Gabriel since book 1 and I’m glad he lived up to my expectations. I also loved that he stayed true to himself with his charm and deviousness. Ivy was a perfect match for him with her own brand of fire and fraudulence.

The sound that rolls over my lips is carnal, my eyes closing as his mouth drops to my ear again to remind me, “Those sounds are mine, Ivy. This perfect cunt is mine, too.”

There were a lot of bits and pieces of new information thrown into the story, however, I didn’t feel it made much progress to the series storyline. Fortunately, Gabe and Ivy’s personal story was amusing and engaging. Their chemistry was intense which made the sex scenes scorching.

Fraud is a story of embracing the truth. It would appeal to readers who enjoy enemies to lovers romance.

Frauds of the world unite, together forever

If you don't love Ivy then you're not welcome on my team. If they didn't have some incredible issues of their own, I could be quite jealous of Ava and Emily for getting to be her besties. Ivy shines like a star, dazzling those around her and casting light into the shadows, where it's not always welcome. Where Luca was strong in an almost foolhardy and naive way, Ivy's strength is in her very ability to hide in the spotlight, keep a gameface, and lie as good as, if not better than, Fraud himself.

Talking of Gabe, he was a worth adversary to Ivy but was never going to beat the Queen of Deception. Oh he liked to think he had the upper hand, in fact he was allowed to believe that for such a long time, but then men always mistakenly believe that females are the weaker sex. This pair are so well matched, so absolutely perfect for one another and so amazing together, despite the lightning strikes and storms that occur when they are in close proximity - literally. You can feel the air crackling with tension and static electricity when they are in the same room. When they're alone together - well just make sure you read this somewhere 'safe' because the word 'hot' doesn't even come close to describing the heat and chemistry between Ivy and Gabe. They weren't the only ones sweating!

Whilst I liked Tanner and loved Luca, their story didn't draw me in the way Gabe and Ivy's did. I could, and did, step away from that one. This book I couldn't put down, well I did at 1 am but only because I had to be up at 7 for work. It felt as though Lily might have taken on board comments made about Treachery, though perhaps she already had those explanations planned. It doesn't matter the how or why, just the fact that in this book I believed in the circle, their fight and their reasons more. I also really enjoyed seeing Tanner get his ass handed to him, that guy still rubs me wrong at times, though he does help Ivy so he's forgiven, maybe.

This story felt as though it continually moved forward, little secrets and truths slowly revealed, new mysteries unearthed. Just the right speed to keep the tension humming, to drive the pace onwards, to hold me spellbound. We kept hearing about the 'event' that caused Ivy to ask Tanner for a favour. I'll be honest and say that I almost expected to be disappointed by it. Just what could have been so bad but also 'fixable'. Too many times other authors have set up the same premise of a secret, have built the anticipation and have fallen flat at the last hurdle by revealing a ridiculous, an unbelievable and/or a secret so pathetic it ruins the book. I should never have doubted Lily White's ability to pull this off. She is, after all, the Queen of the Messed Up, F'd up, Plot Twist, surprising us at every turn, pulling the rug out from under out feet and twisting the twist. Just remember this book isn't called Fraud for Gabe alone. it takes a liar to know a liar and to fool a liar.

***5+ "Team Inferno!!!" stars***

IT'S LIVE!!!

Fraud (noun):
A person who intends to deceive others.

Lily White is a magnificent creature!!! Her pen is pure heaven... Her stories will be imprinted in your soul!!! And the Antihero Inferno series is going to be my top favorite books of this year!!! I can guarantee it!!!
In a small period of time, Lily White's writing had managed to crawl inside my heart and she just took the liberty to sit on the throne!!!
She is my Queen and I worship the ground that she is walking, aka her unique and blowminding stories!!!
I warn you!!! You have to read this series!!! You will be half a person if you don't!!!

"When it comes to Gabriel, there is one golden rule you must always follow:
Never believe him.
Not even once.
To do so is to guarantee your world is about to be ruined."

Have I mentioned how I love that Lily is busting her a$$ off to bring us a book in every month???
So, after Tanner and Luca, Gabriel's turn came before i know it and it was one of my most anticipated stories!!!!
Gabriel seemed the most easygoing guy with his brilliant megawatt smile and handsome package...
But is he really whom everyone is thinking he is or is he just a fraud who knows how to play perfectly the role???

"That's the ultimate truth a person has to remember with him:
Gabriel is at his most dangerous when he smiles."

Well, the book picked up from where the first book left us, but it gave us some glimpses of some other facts that we witness in the first book, but from different POVs...
Gabriel and Ivy's beef toward each other is going way back when they were first met at age 9... From that moment, things between them never stopped to escalated on epic proportions!!!
Gawd!!! In one way, it was tragic the way they were handling things, but damn, I laughed my ass off with their antics and pranks to each other!!!

"Even if it was only cruel pranks and this bullshit war, we kept going because we refused to buckle beneath the challenge.
I think the truth is that for as much as the spoiled princess and the broken prince hated each other, it's a simple fact that we wouldn't let go because we were the only people who could distract the other from the heavy weight of our lives."

At the present, Gabriel and Ivy are meeting for once again after many years without contact.
It's time for Ivy to pay the prize for asking a favor from Tanner, many years ago...
And it's a perfect opportunity for Gabriel to finish what he and Ivy had started back then when they were kids...
The truth is that Ivy knew some things for him that nobody else had known and that fact was making Gabriel's hatred more stronger...
But is it really hatred the feeling that these two are sharing???

"She's like a magnet that draws me to her. An opponent who has somehow tied her threads to mine, our hatred always tainted with something far more dangerous."

"This attraction is a fatal virus to which neither of us are immune, one that infected us when we were children and has slowly chipped away at everything we are.
And while I still want to destroy her, I can't fight the need to taste her in the process."

Well, honestly, Lily's web is too big and too complicated to be untangled just like that, so i can't really tell you much more about this book...
They are so many lies, secrets, betrayals and lost knowledge in here, but it is sooo captivating to witness them!!!
Ivy wasn't some damsel in distress, she knew how to hold her own and I loved her for that!!!
Gabriel wasn't what he seemed to be either...
The spoiled princess and the broken prince were too memorable to even forget them...

"We've always had the annoying ability to attract, even when we were doing everything in our power to wreck each other's worlds."

"Running my gaze down her body, I unleash the smile I've used so many times to sneak past a person's barriers. Because that's what you do when you're hiding.
You smile.
You lie.
You deceive.
You pretend that you've never been hurt and that you never will."

Ivy and Gabriel were the perfect match for each other...
They were both liars and frauds and they were the half ones of a whole, even though they couldn't realize it from the beginning...
The war between them was epic, their battles were leaving bloodied scars, and the atmosphere were cracking with electricity around them!!!
God, I loved this couple sooo much!!!
They were mean, they were cruel, they were ruthless, but they seemed so perfectly right together.

"The war we have is a drug, and I've always been an addict. It's caused an insane number of problems, but I just can't stop."

"It's like standing beneath an erupting volcano. You know you need to run. To hide. To get out of the way of the flowing lava and searing ash. But at the same time you can't help feeling awe at the brightly colored explosions that rattle the ground beneath your feet."

God, I laughed so much in here!!!
Yep, these two were being childish from time to time, but i was overenjoying their behavior...
And when they joined forces and tortured poor Tanner, i couldn't stop holding my belly from the laugh!!!
But I have these sneaky suspicion that Ezra and Emily's story will wreck me!!! I really can't wait for Violence and I can wait to see how this story will play out after all!!!

"Emily Donahue is mine.
She always has been.
And there's not a single fucking person who will get in my way."
-Ezra

Gawd, I freakin' love this series and these Inferno boys so much!!!
And their female matches are soooo worthy to be by their side!!! They are woman that can ispire you and you can help but to admire them!!!
So, i will repeat myself and i will say.... DON'T YOU DARE NOT TO READ THIS SERIES!!!

"We are the devastation that was born on the day we met as children, our hatred of each other swirling in chaotic winds, our attraction cracking the sky apart on a spark that becomes a raging fire at the point where it strikes the earth."

***I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange of an honest review. Thank you, Lily!***

A FLAMING HOT GLITTER BOMB OF SEXY FUCKERY

“A broken prince. The spoiled princess. And a war where the players had two different objectives.” ~~ “We like the war. Crave it. But only because it makes us better.”

Look out boys – Gabriel Dane aka Fraud (the 8th Circle of Hell) just threw some serious accelerant on the bonfire of hotness that is the Inferno Boys, and notches up the heat level and swoon factor tenfold. It felt like getting sunburned and a contact high all at once. That boy’s got game in every way -- sizzling, crackling, smoldering, heart-melting games, games, games. Down to a fine science, though long-time nemesis Ivy Callahan matches Gabe prank for prank like an art form, upping the stakes each time. This is the spoiled princess and the broken prince ten years later … but their masks are slipping and hiding their truths has never been more difficult. There’s a fine line between love and hate, even if they’re a terrible match that can never work. Two liars that share a blistering history of hurting each other, with perfectly matched scars on the inside to show for it. Gabe and Ivy are two, imperfectly perfect magnets that repel and attract without any control. The worst lies of all are the ones they tell themselves.

Gabe’s story is a fun, feisty, irreverent and combustible romance of sexy, seductive, steamy gamesmanship. I loved that they are equal liars perfectly matched in the ultimate game of lies. I especially love a kick-ass heroine who can hold her own against alpha dogs and prove that they don’t always have the biggest balls in the room. Unlike Tanner and Luca from Treachery, Gabe and Ivy go way back to childhood and an unfortunate incident made Gabe hate Ivy for something she witnessed, which turned her into his greatest adversary. His mask as Fraud-the-charming-liar has been firmly in place ever since, and Ivy is the only one who truly sees beneath it. Their pranks are legendary and a great sideshow for the rest of Inferno, but Ivy gives as good as she gets -- even better -- until that last horrid prank at the end of high school sent her running, and left Gabe waiting for the day of her eventual return because of the trap he’d set for her. Yeah, she owes the Inferno Boys a favor (uh-huh, we all know what that means) … and her day of reckoning is at hand as Gabe reels her back in. “My intention has always been to destroy her.” Silly Gabe mistakes her as “a fluffy lamb that doesn’t know to run when a wolf is stalking after her.” But, Ivy Callahan “never crumbles.”

“Ten years … a long time to sit on a ticking time bomb waiting for it to explode. I have no choice but to beat these boys at their own game. The only thing those men are good for is ripping your heart out”
~~ “If any woman is capable of beating me at my own game, it’s her."

Ivy is the wild-child -- only child -- of the governor, and there’s a connection between him and the Inferno fathers that keep Ivy in their crosshairs with so much back-and-forth trickery. But they definitely meet their match with her – she’s wily smart, resourceful, imaginative, and slippery as an eel. “My history with Gabriel is complicated.” ~~ “She fascinates me, this woman. Always has.” When it comes down to it, she just may be a better fraud than Gabe. Like recognizes like. All her life, she’s defied her father’s need to tame her into a docile socialite like her mother. When Gabe sees Ivy after that long absence, that’s exactly what he believes she’s become, living under her dad’s thumb and on his dime. But, Ivy has a mask of her own – she’s been “sharpening her edges, honing her skills, and perfecting her game.” No better person to play against than silver-tongued Gabe. “I’ll never be tame. Being tame is boring.” And Gabe thinks so, too. “I love the fight in you … how much fun it would be to fuck it right out of you."

What you get are funny pranks, devilish fuckery and mind games at their finest. It was so much lighthearted fun -- hysterical, charming, devious, seductive, mysterious and romantic -- all rolled into one. Just being around Ivy makes Gabe lose control, and the assumptions he makes are his undoing. I want to grow up and be Ivy – she’s a free spirit after my own heart, always a step ahead, never gives up, and won’t go down without a fight. And smokin’ hot Gabe is a real BBF contender underneath that mask of his. The truth is that although she frustrates Gabe to insanity, he respects the hell out of her and never wants to see her tamed, even if he has to do it. It was a bumpy road to figuring each other out, and Gabe stole my heart. “Such a fucking gentleman. "Only for you.” ~~ often repeated lines of great significance. What a wild ride as their pranks bring them together with some of the steamiest sex there is. Romance finally explodes like a glitter bomb of emotional shrapnel. When the masks drop and the truth comes out – what then?

As they become “Romeo and Psychobitch”, the mystery of their fathers also deepens because it isn’t all fun and games, even though seriously uptight Tanner is a-laugh-a-minute as the butt of so many pranks, and there’s still a serious conundrum that involves all the characters and the Inferno Boys’ master plan. Each book drops another breadcrumb on the trail of solving that mystery and sets up the next Inferno boy’s book. The Inferno Boys and their women are so different from each other and worth fighting for. It was such a gas getting to know them better, and learn new insights into Ivy’s gal pal Emily and hothead Ezra (the twin) as the focus of the next book, VIOLENCE in July. [Read the books in order for full enjoyment and understanding of the larger story surrounding all the characters. Lily digs deep and doesn’t scrimp on her stories.] This series is a sizzler of devilish fuckery that just keeps blazing hotter and hotter!

“Two people that believed they were fighting each other, but were actually holding on.”
“What do you want?”
“You. I want you.”

A super sexy enemies to lovers romance that was FIRE HOT! I am obsessed with this series. So cleverly written, with characters who have so many layers to uncover and an unpredictable storyline that keeps you on the edge. Gabriel and Ivy were so much fun!

Ivy is a spoiled little rich girl with a powerful father who has secrets that the Inferno Boys want. Gabriel is willing to do whatever he needs to get them. Nothing is off the table. It won’t be too hard since Ivy owes a debt and Tanner is ready to collect.

Ivy is fearless. The girl backs down for no man and is a worthy opponent. Gabriel has always respected her as an equal. Ivy gives as good as she gets. They are at their best when they are at war with one another. What they always treated as a prank war was really just foreplay building up to the main event...and it was SMOKIN’ HOTTTT! And once they got a taste, they were insatiable.

Gabriel thinks he’s the puppet master holding all the cards, but he’s about to get schooled. So many secrets and everyone thinks they have the upper hand. Secrets mean power in their world. It’s their currency to get what they want.

Gabriel and Ivy were a perfect match, two halves of a whole who were meant to be together. It just took them years to find their way. They shared incredible chemistry. SIZZLING!!! Their relationship was complex but intense at the same time. It was so easy to get sucked into their world. These boys love hard. Once you’re in with one of them, you’re family. They take care of their own. A dysfunctional family of their own making who are bound by love and loyalty. I want my very own Inferno Boy!!!

This one blew me away! It was everything and a bag of chips!

I'm in book hangover hell right now awaiting news of the 3rd book in the series. These nine guys are complete and utter jerks. They are ruthless, cunning, and sometimes scary, which means invariably means I've fallen head over heels in love with every single one of them!!!

Gabriel aka Fraud is a liar and conniving sob. He wears an impenetrable mask to snare pretty much everyone around him. He uses his honed skill to manipulate even his enemies into thinking they're his best friends. But guess what! He meets his match in Ivy! This girl gave him a run for his money on all levels and I was here for every second of it!

Here's what I loved:

I think we've well and truly established my love of the alphahole, so there's no doubt why Gabriel's story called to me like a siren song. What impressed me most if the fact that he's seemingly the nice guy of the group, yet this story gave me more of a gut punch.

The overarching storyline and plot are genuis. The author seems to be weaving each of the storylines into and around a focused event. This book allows us to see how things play out from Gabe and Ivy's perspective, while simultaneously building on the overall storyline. It's brilliant really. Color me impressed!

This story and trope were perfection. Exciting, sexy as all get out, and so much fun. The main characters both kept each other on their toes. It was a super fun and quick read!

The half star deduction was mainly due to some tiny little things with proofing/editing and didn't have an impact on the story. They just pulled me out of the story periodically. Otherwise, this was pretty perfect!

Overall, I'm all in! This series is shaping up to be one of my favorites of 2020. I cant wait for the next book. I'm salivating over this next set of characters!

***Spoiler-free Review***

‘The game continues…just like always.’
‘We like the war. Crave it. Need it in a way that will never make sense to most people. But only because it makes us better.’

Fraud by Lily White is the second book in the Antihero Inferno series, a book we jumped into as soon as it landed on our kindles because -as you know- the first book Treachery blew our minds. This series should not be read as standalones, despite each book being about a different couple, as the underlying storyline continues and the timelines cross over. Fraud is Gabriel Dane, the eight circle of the Inferno, a man who stole our hearts in Treachery. His sparring partner is the sassy, feisty, cheeky and big hearted, Ivy.

‘It was a steady succession of mistakes that led me to the final one – the BIG one- the mistake that sent me crawling straight to Tanner for him to fix.’

In Fraud the deception and cunning game of cat and mouse is well rehearsed from childhood and quite frankly it’s epic in its deception and mind games. Lily White writes enemies to lovers with perfection! It was relentless, it was funny, seriously hot and extremely thrilling at times. Once again the thin line between love and hate was explosive, and we were kept hanging on every word, every prank, every sacrifice and every single game changer.

‘When it comes to Gabriel, there is one golden rule you must always follow: Never believe him. Not even once. To do so is to guarantee your world is about to be ruined.’
‘Did you believe me? Think I’ve changed? Even after you were warned? That’s very noble of you. It’s a shame I’ll have to break your heart.’

Gabriel is a cheeky handsome devil, his smile and green eyes magnetic, his whole being a sexy wrapped package of enigmatic and arrogant mystery. This is a man who is the epitome of a chameleon. Multiple personas and Ivy has them all down, knowing exactly who she’s dealing with at any one time. Gabriel the broken boy – the soulful boy, Gabriel the Fraud and Gabriel the charming joker…the list goes on. The masks he wears each serving a purpose. The only boy and man ever to hold Ivy’s attention.

‘He hurts my heart, even when he’s nowhere near me. He twists my soul when he draws close. It’s the reason I fight so hard against him. I’m not only trying to remove him from my life, I’m attempting to erase his name from the places he’d carved it into my bones.’

Gabriel and Ivy have so much history, one is bound to the other. They’ve clearly always wanted each other despite the intense hatred. Years of pranks and game playing has ensured that they’ve stayed in each other’s lives. Both challenge each other in ways that made us laugh; their banter infectious. The chemistry between them is off the charts hot, like magnets they circle each other unable to let go. If we thought the nookie was hot in Treachery…damn, Gabriel and Ivy just took it to a whole other level.

‘That’s what Gabriel and I are and have always been. A natural disaster. A destructive calamity. A storm so devastating that any person caught in its wake is left confused and stumbling.’

The Inferno men are devious and cocky arseholes, all sacrificial pawns and products of cruel and criminal fathers, brought up in a hate fuelled environment, leaving parts of them broken. These men are tethered by a brotherly love and fervent loyalty to each other in their passion to break the cycle of cruelty by their families. Violence begets violence. Games are a consequence of wicked behaviour, hurt and terror. Pranks have dire consequences. In Fraud we learn more of what sparked a series of events in the lives of the Inferno and secrets are revealed. However, we are still very much in the dark as to who holds what vital information, which will mean the Inferno can finally reap the vengeance they so desperately seek on their fathers.

‘After eighteen years, Ivy is finally giving up. A girl who always fight. A woman who never crumbles. She’s walking away. And that’s the last fucking thing I want.’

Fraud had intense chemistry, buckets full of drama, hilarious banter and thrilling suspense. Lily White is absolutely WOWING us with this series, we have those fluttering butterflies in our stomachs knowing we’ve hit the motherlode of anti-heroes and knowing we have so many yet to read, yet wanting them all like right now! No question, the Inferno guys with their arrogant, game-playing ways have stolen our hearts in this rollercoaster ride of a series with all its twists and turns. We are OBSESSED!

‘I’m claimed. His. I’m owned by the liar. By Fraud.’

“Everybody believes Gabriel is laid back and sweet. They gravitate to him and whisper all their secrets. They have no idea who he really is beneath all his pretty wrappings, that silver tongue of his disguising the beast.”

I was NOT prepared for Gabriel's book!! Fraud far exceeded my expectations in every sense. Like I said in my review of Treachery I knew that Gabriel was far worse than we were led to believe but DAMN this deliciously devious man might be right up there with Ezra and Damon.

One of my favorite things about this series so far is that we have this huge plot going on behind everything that is in the forefront. Yes, Gabe wants to take Ivy down for good but beyond all that The Inferno is trying to take down their fathers. I think as we go further into the story, we are going to see so many parts unfolding for all the guys of the Inferno. We know some of their issues just from what we have read so far but there is so much more going on that we haven't even touched on.

Ivy like Luca is no weakling. She meets Gabriel shot for shot and that was such an instrumental part to the story that when we finally see her become "tamed" it really throws a wrench into the plans that Gabe has. She might have been the one that asked for a favor from Tanner, but she is no dummy, Ivy knew exactly what she was doing. This whole book was a wicked Dance that Ivy and Gabe were doing and when the dance is done and the pieces FINALLY fall into place who will come out on top??

These books are proving to be quite long and honestly that was one of the reasons I was hesitant to start because I mean yikes 500 pages seems a bit much for a bully romance, but it totally works. Lily White has created such an intense start to a story that we haven't even begun to figure out.

Seriously stoked for book three Violence because we finally get one of the twin’s books and Ezra might be becoming my new favorite from the Inferno boys. Yeah, I know. I have some seriously disturbed feelings towards the bad boys.

Fraud is a fairytale that does not begins with "Once upon a time", but is one that was dipped in misery and spun through with lies. A broken prince. The spoiled princess. And a war where the players had two different objectives.

Gabriel Dane, Eighth Circle: also known as Fraud. The boy was born with a silver tongue and can talk the panties off a nun. If he’s on your side, you’re mostly safe, but if he hates you, it’s a bad idea to believe him. A smooth talker.

"I'm such a self-contained party that confetti bursts from my ass every time I fart"

Ivy Callahan trapped in a life where she’s nothing more than a brainless socialite, there to look pretty and nothing else. A caricature, mundane and boring.

Gabriel and Ivy have been each other's adversaries from the day they met at the age of nine, antagonising and playing cruel pranks back and forth.

A devil who stares out at you from behind the eyes of an angel while he tears your world apart.

While The Inferno Boys are trying to get and unravel the secrets of their fathers, amidst all that they learn, Gabe & Ivy are force to acknowledge the truth about their relationship.

I liked Gabe from his first appearance in Treachery and was very much looking forward to his story and was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed his "downfall", and was rooting for him to get and keep the feisty girl.

“Those sounds are mine, Ivy. This perfect cunt is mine, too.”
He owns me in ways I’ve never allowed another person. Brings me to life until I’m swimming in the broad strokes of color we paint for each other.

“Simply hurting her isn’t worth the time it would take to accomplish the task. Not when my intention has always been to destroy her.”

description

My first intro to Lily White just so happened to be the first installment of this series, Treachery. Tanner & Luca absolutely hooked me in at the very same time that they infuriated me....I’m serious, it’s baffling that it was almost thrown on my DNF shelf yet ended up being one of my faves of 2020. Fraud is the second installment of the Antihero Inferno series, carrying on the overall story from Treachery but featuring Gabriel Dane and Ivy Callahan as yet another gauntlet begins with a heroine who may be an even bigger fraud that her antihero. They’ve been rivals since childhood and no amount of time apart can extinguish the hate between these two. Gabriel has always been the best liar in the room....he may think he’s already won, but he’s not the only one who’s been lying from the very start.
“You’re not the only fraud here. I’ve been one since the day we met.”
Let me just tell y’all, this series continues to get better & better. Lily White might be the only author on the planet that can keep my attention through 400+ page installments while taking the terms slow building and slow burning to infuriating levels...
description
...I walk away from these books knowing the next one is going to drive me just as crazy yet I am so consumed by everything Inferno that I couldn’t walk away if I tried.

Book Facts:
Told in: Dual POV, all present day with the epilogue in Ezra’s POV.
About: This is the second in a series of nine interconnected romance installments featuring different couples within the same ongoing overall plot and can only be fully enjoyed in order. We continue with the eighth circle, Gabriel (Fraud) & Ivy’s angsty enemies to lovers/rivalry romance and highly entertaining game of cat and mouse.
Triggers: N/A
Ends in: HFN ending for couple with ongoing storyline/plot continuing with Ezra & Emily next.

The Main Players:
Gabriel Dane: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Liar & smooth talker of the Inferno Boys, broken prince, fake, master manipulator, charming, controlled, soulful, arrogant, protective, gorgeous, powerful.
I was a HUGE fan of Gabriel’s in Treachery and loved him almost as much in Fraud. He was missing that extra “thing” to top Tanner but there is no mistaking the fact that he is the real game master in the group. I loved how he continued to push Ivy, never letting up on her. Like Tanner he brings the steam and one of the hottest things about him is his fave part of a woman’s body....it was surprising and spoke of his need for absolute control. Was also a BIG fan of his genuine friendship with Luca, I hope to continue to see more of that.
“That’s a shame. Hunting you down was always so much fun.”

Ivy Callahan: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2
Governor’s miserable socialite daughter, spoiled princess, liar, fake, pretender, expert prankster, rebellious, immature, defiant, loyal, beautiful, brave.
I didn’t hate Ivy but she definitely isn’t my fave heroine. While there were plenty of qualities I admired about her (like her defiance and bravery), there were times her immaturity just irritated me. She does share some similarities with Luca, BUT Luca was on a whole other level of defiance and fiery spirit than Ivy. I will say though, Ivy definitely brought some truly hilariousness & playfulness to this series through her pranks.
“I hate to break this to you, Ivy, but payback is a bitch.” Smiling at that, I turn my head just enough that the corners of our mouths touch. “I hate to break this to you, Gabriel, but so am I.”

What Worked:
Overall Storyline/Plot: Romance aside, this series could stand on its own due to just how captivating/consuming the tangled web of an overall story this series is.
description
How each heroine introduced plays a role and is connected within the bigger picture. I won’t ruin it by talking about the specific role or connection Ivy plays, just that it is yet another layer on an already twisty & suspenseful story that began with Tanner & Luca.

Strong Heroines: There is no denying that this series features some strong-willed heroines with defiant spirits & fire in their blood. It’s apparent in the way that despite the guys desire or the necessity to break or destroy these ladies, they never shy from admiring the kind of opponent they are. They don’t see them as weak or unworthy, it’s the total opposite actually.

Hilarious Moments: Treachery’s funny moments came from certain descriptive scenes & Tanner’s inability to deal with people.....Fraud’s hilarious moments come from the pranks that Ivy brings back into their group....
“I’m sorry,” she breathes, her words strained. Laughter bleeds over her lips, the sound reminiscent of a leaky balloon. “It just looks like you fistfucked a unicorn.”
description
....and Gabriel’s inner monologue when he’s not happy.....
It was annoying the fuck out of me, and I’d briefly considered ditching out myself at a high rate of speed just to end the misery.
description
Add Tanner’s ruthlessness towards everyone not Luca.....
“Save it, Jeeves,” Tanner says as he slips into the house with me behind him. “My name is Harrison.” “You say that like I give a shit. Where’s Governor Callahan?”
description
....and it’s far more hilarious than Treachery was.

Inferno Boys/Support Characters: Just like the last one, the guys continue to pull you in. Lily does a great job at setting up the next installment by forming that connection with those specific characters by the time you get to the epilogue & sneak peek. Unlike the last book though, we are able to form more and more connections with the ladies....I love seeing their bonds and cannot wait to see them welcome new ladies into the fold.

What Didn’t:
The Page Count/Dragging: If I were only allowed a single complaint it would be just how long each installment has been so far. Both have been over 400 pages, both dragging the romance side of the plot out because of it, both being forced to include unnecessary filler. By 40-ish% I felt this could have went on another 100 pages and been done but nooooo she was like the Energizer Bunny of writing....
description
.....and kept going and going. What’s crazy? I still find it unputdownable & irresistible.

Repetition: This was an ongoing problem in both installments so far and something I blame on the page count. It’s noticeable but I can’t deny that it still doesn’t take away from how much I loved this book.
Examples include: Referencing their masks, her “praying”, them being opposing forces, pointing out every time he is going back to “Fraud”, the reason they “battle”, the last time they saw each other, etc.

Ivy vs Gabriel Comparison: Both Ivy & Gabriel were great adversaries, BUT the attempts at comparing them or acting like they are playing on the same level were ridiculous.
description
Gabriel’s level of strategy has real life altering consequences and Ivy is sadly still turning to high school level pranks to fight back. This is never more noticeable than at the 42% mark, where it’s as abundantly clear that Gabriel is pro level while she’s in the little leagues. That’s all fine and dandy (Luca wasn’t on Tanner’s level game-wise either) IF we weren’t expected to believe they were evenly matched or that Ivy ever thought she could win.

The Verdict:
description
I am still trying to wrap my head around the fact that this series has quickly turned into such an obsession for me. Never have a read books before that had me so frustrated I questioned why I wasn’t giving them up yet were literally impossible to put down. This series has captivated and consumed me, Gabriel & Ivy giving us the next part of a masterfully written storyline while keeping me entertained with their intense game of cat and mouse and delicious steaminess. And with Ezra (Violence) up next, I couldn’t walk away even if you paid me to......DO YOURSELF A SOLID AND GET LOST IN THE WORLD OF THE INFERNO BOYS.

“I am his. Always have been. And it’s about damn time he stops lying to both of us and finally accepts what I’ve known all along.”

Fraud by Lily White, is the second book in the Antihero Inferno Series which is a series that introduces us to nine dangerous men, unrepentant sinners that you'll hate to love. These nine men are known for their nicknames and I certainly cannot wait to delve into each book and find out exactly why they were given those names. We have Treachery, Fraud, Violence, Heresy, Anger, Greed, Gluttony, Lust and Limbo.

This Book focuses on the man nicknamed as Fraud also known as Gabriel Dane and his love interest Ivy. We first meet these two in Treachery and this book picks up from where that book ended, so if you haven't jumped on the first book then I highly suggest you do as this is a series that is going to flow and connect through all nine books.

The moment that I started this book, I was absolutely hooked in the world that this author has created. How is it that every single book that this author releases just keeps getting better and better. I absolutely loved Treachery but to be honest I loved this one just that little bit more.

I was absolutely living for these characters and everything that happened. I was so absorbed and amazed by all that was happening that I literally could not put my kindle down.

Gabriel aka Fraud first set his eyes on Ivy when they were 9 years old, Ivy witnessed something that he never wanted someone to see, let alone find out. Ever Since that night Gabriel has harboured this hatred towards her.

Back then Ivy and Gabriel absolutely hated each other, but that hatred was simply a juvenile dislike. A spark that burst into life on the night, and ever since then neither of them have been able to snuff it out. Their games only got crueler after she saw the horrible ugliness of what resides beneath his practiced smile.

Gabe is the fun loving that everyone loved when we first met him in Treachery. Gabriel is not all that he leads us to believe, he hides his pain behind the smiling mask we see and only person has been able to see the real Gabriel and not the fraud. Ivy is the one he loves to hate, the one who has been able to see those times that those masks have slipped. Ivy and Gabe are quite literally the same in the aspect that they both have been wearing a mask . Gabriel hid behind his mask of never being hurt and Ivy hid behind one that pretended to hate him.

Ivy, I absolutely adored. I think, wait screw that I know that she might/ is my girl crush at the moment out of all the girls that we have met in this series. This woman is fierce, intelligent and cunning. To be honest these are traits that I love reading in the female heroines. Ivy will definitely keep you on your toes and at times you won't always agree with her choices or her reasons but she truly owned who she was and gave sorry fucks about it.

Their story goes way back, so lets go back to the beginning shall we,

In High School Ivy needed something swept under the rug, so she went to Tanner asking him for a favour, now ten years later and he's calling in that favour. And now the inferno boys are back and are ready to play Ivy like their little Violin. Not only are they ready to play but Gabe has set his sights back on her and has a plan to destroy her.

"This attraction is a fatal virus to which neither of us are immune, one that infected us when we were children and slowly chipped away at everything we are. And while I still want to destroy her, I can't fight the need to taste her in the process."

The lengths that these two go through with the pranks that they played on one another will make you laugh out loud. I literally haven't laughed so much in a book for a long time and I loved that this book could harbour that reaction from within me. This book not only gives you all the amusing laughter based on the pranks but it also gives you all the feels as well that at times had my eyes filling up with tears.

It isn't all small sailing for these two, they have such a long road ahead that is full of hurdles along the way but that is what its all about. Not all relationships are easy and sometimes you have to face all the hard crap along the way. Although when these two are together, it's no denying that these two absolutely belong together, they have this magnetic pull. They have always had this ability to attract each other to one another even when they were doing everything in their power to wreck each others worlds.

"That's what Gabriel and I are and have always been. A natural disaster. A Destructive calamity. A storm so devastating that any person caught in its wake is left confused and stumbling. To come between us is to become collateral damage, which is why nobody has dared step in to stop our war."

I literally cannot get over how much I loved these two characters story, it was every I expected but then did not expect at all. They are two opposing forces that fit each other so imperfectly perfect.

I am not going to go into the plot of Gabriel's and Ivy's story but I will tell you that there is so much more mystery, secrets, more intrigue, more tears, more laughs and more sorrow for these two characters and the lives that they have lived. The Author likes to spread breadcrumbs throughout so it leaves us guessing what's going to happen next. Not is all what it seems and you really have to your eyes and ears open to try and piece what's happening together. I'm at the point where I'm just gonna roll with it all and just wait until its all revealed.

I literally cannot wait to see where this series ends up going, although I am gonna say that I cannot wait for the other Inferno Guys books. If enemies to lovers is your kind of troupe then this book is going to be for you. Definitely jump on this series if you haven't yet.

I honestly shouldn’t have started this. It’s part of a series and those I don’t read. The are all immature kids. But must of all. I don’t get my HEA and that will not do.

Eighth Circle.
Fraud.
Also known as Gabriel Dane.

Lying is what I do. Bending the truth to get what I want is nothing new to me. And I never feel guilty for it.

Fraud is the second book of the Antihero Inferno series by the best selling author Lily White. Told in dual perspectives, this book was another master price of this amazing series.

From the moment I finished Treachery , I have been dying to read the story of Gabriel and Ivy. Both of them intrigued me to no end. And Lily White certainly did not disappoint me!! The way she wrote Gabriel's story and made us see the broken prince behind the fraud facade was marvelous.

Hurting her has never been what I planned to do. It’s too ordinary. Too boring. Simply hurting her isn’t worth the time it would take to accomplish the task. Not when my intention has always been to destroy her.

This story picks off right where treachery ended. Even though it is based on a different couple, the story lines are similar and need to be read in order. We once again get to meet Gabriel and Ivy.
Ivy is truly a match for Gabriel . That much was certain , just after reading a few chapters of the book. The way she played Gabriel in his own games , made me feel so goddamn proud of her.

Gabriel might be the funniest and most approachable of the inferno men , but in Ivy's life he has always been the villain. It all started from the moment she witnessed something in his life that he never wanted anyone to see. He has been tormenting her ever since.
But his pranks never went the way he expected , because Ivy gave as good as she got. Soon their pranks were not childish games, but in fact a necessity for them both to feel alive. Soon they had to part ways after high school.

Gabriel isn’t just the friendly, beguiling smiles and easy charm he’ll have you believe. He’s not the smooth words and the pretty lies, the colorful peacock feathers that lull you into a happy, comfortable easy friendship. He’s this. A man just as dangerous as the rest. A man just as cunning. Most of all, he’s right. I am his. Always have been.

It's been years since Gabriel and Ivy have seen each other , but their attraction is just the same. The inferno boys are back in Ivy's life and Tanner demands payment for the favor he did for Ivy years ago. Now Gabriel once again has Ivy under his radar, and is on his mission to destroy her.

Treachery was more of a serious book for me , whereas Fraud is the Fun type book. Both Gabriel and Ivy were masterminds and the way they played pranks on each other as well as the other inferno men had me rolling on the floor in laughter!!! There were so many funny scenes in this book , I just could stop laughing throughout the whole book. The way they both put Tanner in his place was absolutely amazing and had me laughing so hard. Tanner didn't know what hit him from where and I really wanted to applaud both of them for that last prank they played!!!

I really couldn't get enough of these two characters. When the book ended it felt too soon. Best enemies to lovers trope ever!!! Lilly took me on a ride so full of emotions and laughter , that I just can't get this book out of my mind!!

And that teaser about Ezra 's book has me on my toes. I can't wait for his book!!!
This book is recommended to all the enemies to lovers romance people and all the bully romance lovers. Believe me , none of you are going to regret meeting fraud aka Gabriel !!

****AVAILABLE NOW****

4.5 CROWNS

I really enjoyed this one, much more than Treachery. Gabe and Ivy are fire (I liked Luca and Tanner, too, from Treachery), and I enjoyed their story a lot.

As a couple, they had a lot of complexity, and I liked how they brought each other to life.

For the plot, there are some things glossed over, blown a bit out of proportion, and the overall plot spanning all the books is moving really slow. Very little is exposed in each book, but there are nine books total in the series, so I’m imagining most will be like that.

The couple portion of the stories is really great. The couples, including Gabe and Ivy have fantastic chemistry, and the steam factor is real hot. The transition from hate to love is abrupt, and I need it to be a little more gradual.

The writing was better in Fraud, but there a lot of repetitive phrasing and words.

Still, it is an enjoyable read with amazing chemistry. I’m excited for more in the series.

4 Stars!

This one didn't grip me as good as the first book but it still showed me a good time.

Gabe and Ivy were a lot of fun but the steam was running low by the end of the book.

Is it horrible that I was wanting Gabriel to let his inner asshole out more? He just wasn't a big enough bastard for me.

Ivy was great. I love it when an author writes strong women. Ivy was clever, funny, and sassy. My favorite trio.

Life is crazy at the moment so I'll probably write more later.

Happy reading dolls! xx

Instead of our fairytale beginning with Once upon a time, it was dipped in misery and spun through with lies. A broken prince. The spoiled princess. And a war where the players had two different objectives.

Enemies to lovers romance? Check. Scorching chemistry that will blow out your reader? Check. Intriguing? Check. Twists and turns?Check. Brilliant writing? Check . The list goes on , so I am cutting it short and just say that this is the Easiest FIVE STAR rating I have given! Fraud by Lily White is PHENOMENAL. BRILLIANTLY WRITTEN. UNIQUE? Oh no... because this book was more than just that six-letter word and I mean it in bold, capital and underlined way. I will stress this out one more time, FRAUD WAS MORE THAN JUST UNIQUE AND PENNED WITH CLASS. Lily White slayed it! She's now one of my unicorn author!

Fraud is the second book of Lily White's Antihero Inferno series which follows the journey of Ivy, "a mystery wrapped in pretty feathers. A thousand different flavors of the same person, each one more tempting than the next" and Gariel - "He's a liar, a fraud and a complete dick. The broken prince. These two were my favorite characters of a book to date! Together, they were destruction and devastation. Opposing forces that bring about storms. They had me with their mind games and antics which made me laughed myself to tears. Thank heavens for masks these days or people will see even my tonsils and it's not even quite a sight to see. ;) I am invested in them from start to finish. I am even borderline obsessed because even hours after reading the book, I can still still picture out everything that unfolded throughout their journey. They were just a force to be reckoned with, I want this book to come to life! Seriously, Fraud surpassed beyond my expectations. I wasn't given rainbows and unicorns. I was not given frills and all that jazz in a romance. I was given so much more that ebbed in my system. Lily White just put enemies to lover's trope into a different perspective.

I'm claimed.
His.
I'm owned by the liar.
By Fraud.
By the broken prince.

Honestly, I went into this book blind. Totally blind. Aside from I am late to the Inferno party, I am also behind all things Lily White. With the hype going on with her previous works, I decided I need to read Fraud, and boy, I never expected the great things that came out of Lily White's brilliancy. Again, she is brilliant. First few pages and i was hooked into the story. There's magic in her words that will lure you out into it's greatness. It's a long AF book but holy moly, I was never bored. I was so far from it trust me. I was captivated and I just keep on flipping the pages devouring each and every chapters, hungry for more.

KICKASS STORY. KICKASS PLOT. KICKASS CHARACTERS.KICKASS AUTHOR.
Fraud can never go wrong.

Loved the start, funny at parts but gets messy after some time. Too many things happening.

The friendship in the book was my favorite part! I can read the books of other characters!
