When Amelia decides to plant a rose in her garden, she discovers an old box buried in the garden and hurts her back in the process of digging it up. The box contains an old book, called a Book of Shadows. While on the phone waiting for the physical therapist, Amelia utters a phrase she sees in the book and an entity soon appears.

Back at the store, Amelia is left to deal with Craig and Kayleen, when Scott Plank also enters and demands a sample of a cupcake, then rudely throws it on the floor. When she returns from the kitchen to clean up the mess, Craig and Kayleen are gone and Scott is found dead on the floor with a rope around his neck. Scott, however, had no shortage of enemies. There people he cheated on real estate deals and others he was blackmailing. In fact, few people had anything kind to say about him.

But who had the best motive to kill him? Was it somebody he cheated? Was it his blackmail victim? Or maybe it was the entity conjured up by Amelia. Can Amelia unmask the killer without getting herself killed?

The story has great characters and plenty of humor. The usually short chapters make for a quick read and keep the story moving along at a steady pace.

Another awesome read. Book 4 is a must read in this series. Heck the whole series is a must read if you like cozy witch mysteries.

When Amelia finds an ancient book in a metal box while digging in her garden she is disappointed that it’s not money or jewels especially since she hurt her back. When she sits to rest her back she flips thru the book & finds a page to help with her baking. Since her baking skills are sorely lacking she reads the spell only an entity appears.

When 3 customers come in the bakery, one of the three demands to be waited on. When he takes a bite of his cupcake he proclaims that it is stale & throws it on the floor. When Amelia goes in the back muttering under her breath to getting the supplies to clean it up, someone is murdered in the front. The other 2 customers are no where to be seen. Was it the entity, the other 2 people or someone else who commuted the murder?

Amelia and her friends investigate the murder & the book to find out what Amelia summoned. Is she responsible for the entity killing the man or was it someone else. As she comes into her powers her baking slightly improves but will her new found Dark Witch powers be enough to???? You will have to read the book to find out.

I love my visitis with Amelia Spelled and her group of friends. In this book Amelia casts a spell with a mistake and summons an entity. Meanwhile a dead council man in her shop gets Amelia and her friends looking for the murderer if only to prove that the entity hadn't.

I really like Amelia as a main character she is so fun and I love the fact she still can't manage to bake. Her group of friends are nice, fun and I wish I could visit with Amelia and her friends and share a cupcake or two and hang out. I love the fact that the house controls the tv and manages to drive killers insane. I am still not sure about Amelia's love interest. I am not sure he is the right one for Amelia but I am holding off judgement till I get to see more of him. I am glad Thyme looks like she might have a new love interest.

I really enjoyed the story line it was quick paced and interesting and kept me zooming along. It had a really good plot with lots of suspects.

A really good fast read.

The Kitchen Witch Series, Spelling Mistake, Book 4, by Morgana Best.
Another wonderful book.

I received a free copy of this book via author and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Amelia finds The Book of Shadows buried in her gardend and tries to cast a spell to improve her baking but accidentally summons an entity that acts as her assistant on what she wishes. She tries to send Fred, the entity back but can't at that moment and a man is killed at her shop. Now she has two problems at her hands: 1.how to send Fred back and 2. discover who the murderer is.

At the end of the book you can discover if Amelia can solve the murder and is able to get in touch with her abilities as a Dark Witch.

As I always say, I love this series and the way Ms Morgana Best has to give us really enjoyable cozy mysteries to love in every turn of page.

Spelling Mistake The Kitchen Witch bk 4 by Morgana Best
I'm loving this series it's full of character with a strong storyline and fantastic characters. We're back again following Amelia and her friends, as another dead body turns up. When Amelia plants a rose little did she know that lay beneath the soil. Amelia finds a very old spellbook.
Great book, great series 5*

Cute and very funny. Definitely had me laughing out loud. My new favorite character is the house. Glad to see some more character development and even interaction between some. As the series progresses, the depth of writing is getting better and better. That said, these books are not overly complicated.

Hmmmm

How long is ...all is well in my world... Going to last.? The next logical step is lots of dating for both ladies. She never found out why the haint came to her. It seemed to be on a mission and ms. Spelled lost valuable information.

Always enjoy this series for a lovely read (even if murder is involved). Really enjoyed the appearance of Fred in this one and hope he appears again in other books in the series. Also like the back story that keeps me wanting to continue with the series and find out what adventures and trouble Amelia gets into next.

Delightful Paranormal Mystery

The mystery in all the books so far have centered on a non-paranormal person who was murdered. The delightful part is a group of diverse friends, all witches, try to solve the murder. All of the witches have unique and quirky personalities. They range in age from young adult to senior citizen. I am truly enchanted with this series. Amanda Spelled is the newest member in the group. Until she moved to town she did not even know she was a witch. Her friends are helping her to learn her craft albeit in a slow meandering way. Maybe because Amanda is a freaking murder magnet. People seem to drop dead around her on a frequent basis. This is a fun series, and even though there is a murderer to uncover, it feels lighthearted. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.

Amelia Spelled, a newer Dark Witch has found a book in her garden as she was planting an old rose bush, given to her by her friend, Camino.

The Book of Shadows is ancient and written mostly in Latin. Written in English was a section about improving one's baking skills. Just what Amelia needs as although she inherited a cup cake shop, Amelia is a very poor baker and cook. In fact she tends to burn foods. What she bakes up though is an entity...an Assistant of the Supernatural bent. Not a Demon but something other worldly.

To add to this confusion, Fred, as he introduces himself, might have just given Amelia a 'wish.' That of ridding the Earth of nasty Scott Plank, the Town Planner. As Amelia and her friends learn Scott was not a nice man and unscrupulous in his business dealings around town.

Who did kill Scott? Entity or Man? Whomever, this fun and quick to read novel will have you turning the pages and smiling to yourselves.

This is a great book; this is the fourth book in the Kitchen Witch series written by Morgana Best. Amelia Spelled is a witch and not the very best baker. When she discovers an old spell book, which to her delight contains a spell to improve one’s baking. When a spelling mistake is thrown into the mix, she accidentally summons an entity. She just needs to figure out how to reverse the spell. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author. A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

Plant a rose, dig up a box. Speak words you don't understand, manifest a hideous entity named Fred. All that she can do. However, Amelia is now in Book 4 and she still can' bake!!! Well, she does try, but the next to "the last cake she made that didn't spontaneously combust made a big crack in the concrete!" Still, she knows how to find killers. This time with the help of her house. Sooner or later Amelia will learn how to bake. However, I hope it never takes precedence over finding killers. I recommend this book for those who enjoy humor and romance with their mystery.

Murder, magic and cupcakes

Such a fun series. Morgana doesn't waste any time getting to the murder this time. Amelia and her friends are getting to be accomplished sleuths. She is finding a way to navigate her path since inheriting her aunt's house and bakery. A fast read that left me looking forward to the next book in the series. Recommend this series for lovers of cozy mysteries with a big touch of magic.

A cute book

Amelia Spelled is a witch who has inherited her aunt's home and cupcake shop. As she learns how to bake and control her powers as a witch, she also has to solve the mystery of a man who dies unexpectedly in her shop. Meanwhile, she also has to deal with an entity who carries out her wishes. This is a cute mystery with a satisfying conclusion.
