And another idolization of a manwhore.

He broke up with the h because he wanted only sex and she wanted more.
He wasn't celibate during separation. He had sex with 9! strippers within 2 days - and thanks to the radio everyone knew it, even the h.

She, of course, wasn't with anyone after him. Arrrggghhh!!!

And?! The 1st thing she did - she had UNPROTECTED sex with him after 2 minutes seeing him again. He f*cked strippers and she let him f*ck her WITHOUT condom!!! There was a short talk AFTER they f*cked and he said he was tested, but before he told her this and after she knew he slept with many OWs she let him f*ck her WITHOUT condom.

Where are women with self-respect?
Where are women with brain?
Where are women who value themselves?
And where are decent men who think with their big head and not the small one?

Not in this book apparently...

I liked Nolan when he was introduced in Destiny on Ice (which I loved btw) and I was excited to get his story. It was obvious that he had his life together, but as the story delved deeper into his character, I soon realized that it was all an act. He was building something good with Lainey, but as soon as feelings started to grow deeper and she started getting serious with him, he froze her out and sabotaged their relationship. Months later he realizes his mistake and tries to get her back in his bed. However, despite Lainey truly having deep feelings for him, he's been friend-zoned.

I really loved Lainey and Nolan's "friendship". It was funny to see them try to avoid their undeniable chemistry to one another to keep things strictly platonic. I knew that there had to be some past hurt to make Nolan the way he was and I was happy with the way the author wrote Lainey's character, making her as honest and open and awesome as could be. She was everything that he needed. How long could Nolan resist?

Although I didn't love this book as much as I loved the first one, it was still an amazing story and it was great seeing everyone again. Benny's story is next and I know that boy has been fighting some serious demons. I can't wait to read the book that will be created for him.

Hockey star Nolan Solvenson is nothing short of skilled perfection, both on and off the ice. Or so everyone thinks. His teammates are constantly hitting him up for advice, but really, when it comes to his own life, Nolan can't seem to make the right moves anymore.

Blame it all on Lainey Shelburne, a woman he wants but is determined to keep at arm’s length. That’s why, after a few sexy encounters, he unceremoniously blows her off.

When they’re reunited, facing off against the fiery cocktail waitress becomes the challenge of his life. Lainey is furious with him for dumping her and wants nothing more than to kick him in the junk. But Nolan—typical man—is only interested in getting Lainey back in his bed.

That plan is shot all to hell when they reach a shaky truce and Lainey drops the bomb that all she’s looking for now is a "just friends" relationship with Nolan.

Take that, Mr. Hot Right Winger!

Suddenly, the "know-it-all" athlete is skating on thin ice as he tries to hide his burgeoning feelings from the one woman who has the ability to thaw his heart. But is Lainey willing to try a relationship with him again? Can Nolan resist the urge to walk away?

Resistance on Ice is a fun standalone novel and the second installment in the bestselling Boys of Winter hockey romance series.

I've been a fan of S.R for several years now... her books are always easy, low angst, chemistry filled stories that just make me laugh and smile. Resistance on Ice was no different. The second book in her Boys of Winter series gives us Nolan, Brent's teammate and Lainey, Aubrey's sister from book one Destiny on Ice. If you haven't read that one yet, they are stand alones so you'll be fine. But you definitely will want to meet Brent! This second chance romance was sweet and I loved watching Nolan work is way back into Lainey's life. Watching the man-ho's fall is always fun! When you're looking for a story that's high on steam, low on angst, and big on heart.... this one will hit the spot!

Omg, I can't believe how fast I'm reading the books in this series! Just like the first book, this one was once again a one-sitting read. I just couldn't stop reading once started and before I knew it I was done with it and writing a review :O.

I really liked Nolan and Lainey's presence in 'Destiny on Ice' and I was so excited to start this book and reading their full-length book. There were some leads written in the first book which made me so curious to read this one and find out what's going on between Nolan and Lainey. And boy, did I find out and did I get even more then I bargained for, yes sir!! I devoured the book.. just devoured it, prr.

Lainey and Nolan are so different from Brent and Aubrey which was exactly what I was looking for now. Don't get me wrong, I love and adore Brent and Aubrey and devoured their story too, but I really liked getting a whole different set-up in this second book regarding the characters and their romance/development. There's still a lot of recognizable stuff in this one that I came to love in the first book; like all of the characters you've already met back then, the Hockey setting and the awesome writing style. And then there's this new story-line with different characters and a different kind of romance. It was just a really delicious, funny, romantic read just like the first one but with different characters and a different kind of romance/development and just.. sigh.. I'm happy haha, really happy!

And again, the writing style of this author is so good and lovable! It's funny, witty, addictive and fluidly written. Did I say addictive already? Because yes, it truly is - hence why I read it in one sitting hehe. This second chance romance/friends-to-lovers romance is so incredibly well written! I was already hooked on these characters in the first book. But right from the very first page of Resistance on Ice, I was completely and utterly lost in them and their story. I love their off the charts chemistry and the development of their story/romance throughout the book. Starting off with having hot sex and then resign to the friends-only zone, which leads to some hilarious and heartwarming moments. And always, always with that off-the-charts chemistry present, it was such a joy to experience this romance development.

The only minor issue I had with this book was that it felt a bit too rushed towards the end I guess. I can't really pinpoint to what it was exactly that made me feel, but I just felt like the characters were a bit too 'easy' about the process of everything towards the end - don't want to spoil, so sorry for the chaotic writing buwhaha. But overall, the development of the complete story-line is just really good so I can see past that minor flaw, but therefore I couldn't give this book a 5 star rating.

CONCLUSION
This book deserves every praise because it was just an incredible joy to read. Just like the first book, it's such an intense and emotional roller coaster romance, that has you addicted right from the start. The humor is so awesome and made me laugh out loud multiple times, which shows the author just has an amazing writing style I think. Not many authors are able to make me laugh out loud! Lovable characters and side characters: CHECK as well. So there's just an enormous amount of perfect elements for a really great sports romance and I definitely, definitely, recommend this series to anyone who's in for a romantic, swoony, sweet and funny read! Oooo and the sexy times, don't forget them because; hot alien babies everywhere.. this author knows how to write some sexy scenes and she's so good at creating fireworks on the pages, prrr..

So yeah: the Boys of Winter definitely stole my heart so far. First Brent, now Nolan and then there's also Benny, whos waiting for his story to be published hehehe.. - well truthfully: there are a couple of other Hockey players I'm very curious about too but let's just stick with these three for now. I'm soooo looking forward for Benny's book. I got a feeling he's in for a troublesome road ahead, poor f*cker hahaha..

Just NO. I had to DNF this one, although
I should have just put it down after the
first few pages. This is when we discover
"our hero" has slept with 9 girls in one
weekend. I was grossed out and then
this book went downhill from there.
Add in a whiny, needy, clingy heroine
and did I say...desperate.....Well, I couldn't
get past 33%. This book, nor the
characters could hold my interest and
I did not find anything redeemable about
this couple.

I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book.

Lainey & Nolan had a secret summer affair. They broke it off because trust issues and a whole ton of other issues. But they resisted well more like she tried to resist him but it wasn't happening.

This is a great and funny sports romance, friends to lovers and second chance romance all tied into one.

My Thoughts:
I have anxiously been awaiting this book since I finished Destiny on Ice. This book was no less funny than the first! I love sports romance, especially hockey. The players are arrogant, but also have a vulnerable side that just the right woman will make the difference.

This book also had a second chance romance to it as well, so that is another of my favorites. So the true trifecta, Sports Romance, Romantic Comedy and Second Chance Romance hit it right into the net!

Lainey and Nolan had a fling that last a few months, but when she started to want to take things to the next level Nolan panicked. He broke up with her and broke her heart. He was miserable and he hit rock bottom, strippers, drinking and brooding over losing Lainey. When suddenly he had an epiphany that he needed to make things right and get Lainey back in his life. He still didn’t want forever, but he knew he needed her in his life.

Lainey graduated from college and is now living with her sister and soon to be brother-in-law (Aubrey & Brent) in Las Vegas. They are the couple from Destiny on Ice. Lainey has kept the secret of her previous relationship with Nolan a secret from everyone because her sister doesn’t like Nolan. Her sister works for the team and knows some of Nolan’s past. But, she doesn’t know everything. Nolan has a dark secret that he hasn’t told anyone except Brent and he doesn’t intend on sharing it either.

Nolan returns to Las Vegas to prepare for hockey camp early because he knows Lainey is living there. He wants to make amends. Lainey can’t resist him. She still has deep feelings for him but is she ready to settle for less than she deserves?

There is a lot of tension and push and pull between the characters. Nolan wants things that Lainey can’t give just as Lainey wants things that Nolan can’t give. There are laugh out loud lines and tense OH NO moments. Touching love scenes and sassy banter between the characters. This book is fast paced and kept my full attention all the way through.

I highly recommend this funny sports romp!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Nolan Solvenson is known for having his life together. He is the one that friends turn to when they need advice on getting back on track. If everyone only knew how much of a front he puts up. That his world is quite the opposite. So he remains guarded. Until Lainey Shelburne. Nolan is determined to keep her away, until he can no longer do so. After a few times together, he completely blows her off. Most girls would cry in a corner and wonder what they did wrong. Not Lainey! She is fierce! And mad! So when he comes to the realization that he can’t deny what they had, she tells him she just wants to be friends. Because trusting him would only mean heartbreak. Again. But Nolan? That is a challenge he is up for and he has no intentions of backing down.

The chemistry between Nolan and Lainey was off the charts. The building of their relationship was a true testament to the author’s talent of character development with a witty and fun storyline. This is a friends to lover and second chance romance all rolled up into one. While S.R.Grey is known for her more heartfelt stories, but she was quickly cemented her place in the romantic comedy romance genre with this amazing new series! The execution was skillfully manifested in a story that I found hard to put down. I just about read it in one sitting! If you are a fan of this author or even just a fan of sports romantic comedy then you MUST read this book! And if you are a fan of neither, I guarantee this book will make you one.

This was seriously THE best romantic comedy of the year! The author is extremely talented in allowing her readers to get lost in her words with her authentically hilarious storyline and genuine characters. Resistance On Ice has the perfect balance of steam and passion with humor. She has this innate ability for her readers to truly connect with her characters through heart and of course laughter. Although a romantic comedy, they still have sparks of S.R. Grey’s natural ability to give us a heartfelt and thought provoking read. Nolan and Lainey have something deep and their story is one to not be missed. I am so looking forward to the continuation of this series with the next couple.

S. R. Grey’s RESISTANCE ON ICE is a winning addition to the Boys of Winter series. NHL Right Winger, Nolan Solvenson, wants to get Lainey Shelburne back in his bed, but Lainey has put him in the friend zone. This contemporary sports romance takes place in Las Vegas. It is suitable for new adult and adult audiences.

We first met both Nolan and Lainey in book one, DESTINY ON ICE. Nolan is Brent Oliver’s friend/line mate, and Lainey is Aubrey’s little sister. Nolan and Lainey were secretly hooking up. They stopped seeing each other. Now Nolan wants to start things back up with Lainey. However, Lainey wants more and has told Nolan they could only be friends.

Nolan is an interesting character. He has a secret he does not want anyone to discover. That secret has understandably left him humiliated and untrusting of relationships. I like Lainey. She is feisty and brave. She pulls off stuff I would not have the nerve to do. Nolan and Lainey are a great couple. They have hot chemistry and similar personalities. Lainey instilling the friend rule was the perfect call. The two end up being very compatible and value their relationship more.

The plot was skillfully-executed. A lot of fun and thrilling things take place. There are some interesting dynamics in the story, including Aubrey hating Nolan, that makes the story thought-provoking. I love that Area 51 made a comeback in this story. I love that RESISTANCE ON ICE began and ended in a similar manner.

I liked the introduction of the Coach Townsend’s daughter, Eliza. I found it amusing she was a Capital’s fan. She becomes a good friend to Lainey. I am looking forward to her and Benny Perry’s story in book three, COMPLICATIONS ON ICE, expected to be released in August 2017. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

S.R. Grey continues hitting the mark with Resistance on Ice!! This was such a fun friends to lovers story. Very low on the drama/angst and very high on the humor and heart. And you guys know how much I love to see a big alpha womanizer brought to his knees by a woman **swoon**

Nolan is the man Lainey wants to hate. He rejected her. And now he's back in town and wants more. But she wants to hate him. He rejected her. We can't always get what we want :)

You guys will love this story. I promise you! As much fun as Destiny on Ice was to read, this was ridiculously more. Their chemistry is spot on and their banter just adds to the spark. It was sexy and flirty and really endearing! SO GOOD! #TRUST

Second chance romance is one of my favorite tropes. Throw in the fact that this is also a romcom sports romance and I was sold! Resistance on Ice is book 2 in the interconnected Boys of Winter series, but can be read as a stand alone. Since we meet our hero and heroine in Destiny on Ice, however, readers may want to read the books in order for maximum enjoyment.

I had a bit of a love/hate relationship with both Lainey and Nolan. They could be so incredibly sweet and wonderful (both together and individually), but then turn around and do something amazingly stupid. Their lack of communication and the withholding of true feelings only highlighted their immature relationship. I was definitely happy to see it evolve through the course of the book.

Nolan's sexual history in particular may be a little hard for some to accept, especially because it's not really that far in the past. I am generally not a fan of the manwhore hero, and I think to have those details thrown right into the readers face right from the start was a little jarring. It made it harder for him to redeem himself in my eyes, but it also made the ending that much sweeter. I would have preferred Lainey have a little more backbone when it came to Nolan as well. Sadly, she came across as a bit of a doormat for a good portion of the book. One thing I really enjoyed though, was the gift Brent and Aubrey gave to Nolan and Lainey! It was the perfect nod to book 1! ;)

description

I do recommend listening to the audiobook if at all possible. The narrator, Reagan West, does a wonderful job performing both characters and really adds another layer to the story. The seeds were planted for a story between Benny and Eliza and I'm looking forward to book 3, Complications on Ice.

Resistance on Ice is the 2nd book in the Boys of Winter series it's told in a dual POV and although we got to meet Nolan and Lainey in the first book. It CAN be read as a standalone but if you haven't read the 1st book then you have missed out on an hilarious read in Destiny on Ice.

Nolan comes across as a typical man-whore he's guarded and doesn't let people in easy. He never lets anyone get that close being vulnerable is just not something he allows himself to be. That is until Lainey but then he panics when Lainey's feelings grow into more, which leads him to acting like a douchbag and cutting ties with her but as soon as he does he knows he's made a huge mistake. When he pulls his head out of his arse is it to late to win her back knowing that he's broke her heart and trust.

Lainey is trying to move forward with her life but with struggling to find a job and the constant reminder that Nolan pushed her away its harder and harder. Then when he tells her he wants more can she put her trust back into him. Deciding to try to just be friends to start she feels is the best way till he can be open and honest but when the chemistry is that strong can they just stay in that friends zone?? Leading us to some fun and sexy encounters!!

So Sports romance? Friends to lovers? Second chance romance? we got it all within this read. This is a fun, romantic comedy that is hot, steamy, and sexy. With great banter between all the characters and is a great addition to the series. With the hints within this read i'm really looking forward to Benny's book later in the year this is definitely a sports romance/rom-com series you don't want to miss.

4.5 Star Review Resistance On Ice (Boys of Winter #2) by S.R.Grey

This is fast becoming one of my favourite series. This is the second book in the series and is is Nolan Solvenson and Lainey Shelburne's story and one I thoroughly enjoyed. Between the two of them there were certainly some laugh out loud moments and sex scenes that burnt up the pages.

What happens when good time guy Nolan, terrified of commitment realizes finally that he has let the one woman who might just be his destiny go?

Lainey was so hurt by Nolan's rejection that when he returns to town for training, half of her wants him while the other half hates him. Matters are complicated as she is the sister of his best friend and fellow teammate Brent's fiancee. They managed to keep their relationship secret but now that he has come back for the season, things are about to get real in a hurry.

This book is a stand alone but I feel you would enjoy it even more if you read the first book in the series Destiny On Ice first. I love the camaraderie between all the characters.

The development of Nolan and Lainey's relationship, both as friends and lovers was great. The scenes were hot and made me melt and they provided several laugh out loud moments as well. It was also heart warming to see the love and support that Brent and Aubrey gave to the couple as their relationship grew.

I love S R Grey's style of writing and am excitedly anticipating Benny's story.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Of course after meeting Nolan in book 1, I couldn’t wait for his story and believe me it did not disappoint. Secrets lovers to friends back to lovers… count me in!

Lainey and Nolan have a secret hook up relationship they keep hidden, but Lainey wants more and Nolan can’t give her that so he lets her go. Now they are back together and Nolan wants their hot and heavy sexual relationship to start right back, but Lainey quickly places Nolan in the friend zone. Nolan would rather be friends with her than lose her all together. It shouldn’t be hard right?

At first, I thought Nolan was the typical playboy, but he has a huge secret that he is hiding. There are reasons he is afraid to commit, and it fighting his feelings for Lainey every step of the way. Yes, at times he was frustrating, but also adorably cute as well. I love how much of a spitfire Lainey is and how she keeps Nolan on his toes. Watching the change in Nolan was truly beautiful. And of course the chemistry between these two is off the charts. I love how all the characters are intertwined within the story and how Benny’s story is up next. I can’t wait to see what craziness comes from him and I have a feeling it’s going to be a thrilling ride.

Hockey God Nolan Solvenson has no idea what he's gotten himself into when he get involved with the hot blooded and stubborn Lainey Shelburne but he has definitely met his match. Now if he can only get past his own bullheadedness he might just realize the last thing he was looking for is exactly the thing he needs.

This was another great addition to the Boys of Winter series. We get to see the growing relationship between Lainey and Nolan bounce all over the place while they try to work out their feelings for each other. She knows what she wants but he definitely has his head stuck up his butt in denial for quite awhile. Unfortunately for him his lack of commitment forces Lainey to make a drastic decision and it might just be to late.

I love this series so far and it was fun to delve further into the lives of the characters and watch them find themselves. And the fact that we got to see and interact with the characters from the first book made it even better. I look forward to seeing what Grey has in store for the rest of the boys on the team and in my opinion Resistance On Ice is recommended.

I was really interested in how this series will continue and whether I'd end up liking the second book more than the first (which I rated 3 stars), but it didn't happen. Too much drama, unrealistic situations and immature characters. I just can't get past that. He had a failed marriage, I hope it's not a spoiler, because I vaguely remember this being in the first book too, one that happened when he was young and stupid and rushed into it, so why rush into another when you're older??? Just because you met true love? Amazing. Great thinking.

Ok so I really enjoy sports books and this one was no different. Plus it's Hockey player's what more do I need to say!! This is the 2nd in the series but the 1st one I've read but I am going to go back and read the first one, even though you kinda know the outcome just the little tidbits you get make you want to go find out exactly what happened. But you don't feel lost or confused in this book at all while reading, it's kinda hard to explain that dynamic without giving any spoilers so just trust me on this. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait for the next book in the series. The characters where very well developed. The backstory on Nolan was perfect you really got the sense of where he was coming from and why he was the way he was. Now Lainey her backstory was a little less forthcoming and that held me back from the 5 star. And I kinda get why the author focused more on Nolan than Lainey but I still wanted more of her. But that's just me being picky. And probably because I didn't want the book to end and oh yeah it was sexy as all get out too!!!!! Anyway it was still a great book that I would definitely recommend!!! And I can't wait for the next book!!!!

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, twists & turns and heartbreak.

Before reading this story please read the below books first
Destiny on Ice (Boys of Winter #1)

This is Lainey and Nolan’s story. Nolan is great with giving advice but with his personal life not going his way should he be giving any? Lainey is all he wants but he is not going to touch her. After blowing her off he knows it was wrong. But now after telling her he is sorry all she will give him is friends. He wants more but will settle for friends for now. He must convince her that they can be so much more. The banter back and forth is funny and keeps you turning the pages. Can he get her to fall for him like he is falling for her? Or will friends be all he ever gets from her?

I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this book.

Resistance on Ice (Boys of Winter #2) by S R Grey
reviewed by wendy for Your Next Hot Read 5 super stars
Resistance on Ice is where we get to know the Ice hockey Nolan Solvenson and hot blooded and stubborn Lainey Shelburne, We,ve already got to know a little bit about theses characters in S R Greys 1st book in this series,
Nolan has definitely met his match with Lainey there entire relationship is based on sex and up on realizing this Lainey decides to put there relationship into the friend zone, No more sex , they need to get to know each other, which is hard for the pair of them, but it has to be done, Lainey knows she loves Nolan but can only get past his own demons to realize that he,s in love with her,?
i absolutely love this book, TBH it,s becoming the best series from SR Grey & i love every book she has written,
it,s funny in all the right places, sexy & full of emotion, brilliantly developed charcters & a steady reading pace,
highly recommendable

4 “on thin ice” Stars!

The Review:
*SWOOON* I’m a sucker for a second chance romance and this one was so freaking good! I got the feels, I got the angsts, I got the funnies and I got the romance. This one is definitely going into my reread pile.

Being a huge fan of this author, I was thrilled to get my hands on Resistance On Ice, the second book in the Boys of Winter series. The first book was amazing but I think the author really dug deep to give us this gem. Nolan and Lainey were beautiful together. I felt all the turmoil Nolan was in. His resistance to anything good and his realization in what he lost when he let Lainey go was heartbreaking. Lainey learning to trust and love again caught me right in the feels. These two were destined to be together but fear and mistrust was a huge deterrent in their HEA.

Deciding to be friends to learn to trust again was a great judgment call, but with their passion, their sexual tension and their feelings combined, just being friends was never really an option for these two and I loved watching them fall deeper into one another. And their chemistry? Sweet and HOT, HOT, HOT!

S.R. Grey really knows how to deliver a sexy, intense, romantic punch with her amazing writing, her fun and exciting stories and her down to earth, connectable characters. Nolan was positively delectable and Lainey was such a sassy, terrific heroine. I didn’t want their story to end but I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for us next in this series.

Though other characters from the first book make an appearance, this one is written in such a way that it can be read as a standalone. However, that being said, the first book was excellent and I loved the friendships between the characters. They add a bit of delight to the story as well as it’s fun to see how Aubrey and Brent's relationship has continued.

Fenici, a me piacerebbe vedere un giocatore di hockey tutto nudo, a voi no?

Buona lettura.

3,5 stars. Can’t believe that Nolan was actually a nice guy. He did some things I won’t forgive him for, but when he got his head out of his butt he was practically really sweet.

Nolan and Lainey met at NYE and began a FB relationship. Nolan was married before and this bruised him pretty hard. That’s why he is a commitment phobe and only has casual relationships. With a lot of women. He’s a classic manwhore. Of course he hurts Lainey when she wants more and they end their fling. The story begins after Summer when Nolan realizes he’s been a fool and wants to fight for Lainey. She’s still cautious and doesn’t want her heart broken again. Despite a hot encounter when they meet again, they agree to be platonic friends. From there on it’s a slow burn and they have some obstacles to overcome. Their attraction is absolutely there, but Nolan has to show he’s in there to stay.

Safe with exception. No OW/OM drama, cheating or sex with OP during this book. However… when Nolan and Lainey split a few months ago, she stayed celibate and he didn’t. He had sex with 9 (!!!!!!) strippers in 2 days. 🤮🤮 Although he turned out to be a nice guy, I can never see passed this. 🤢

Yet another amazing story from S.R. Grey. Resistance on Ice is the second book in the Boys of Winter standalone series, but I strongly recommend reading Destiny on Ice (Brent and Aubrey) before diving into the one because you do get a glimpse of Lainey and Nolan! The moment I finished the first book I was so ready to get my hands on a copy because instantly I wanted to dive back into this world.

When I first met Nolan I thought that he was a total playboy and that Lainey was too good for him, but in this book you get to see a new side of him. After a few chapters I was suddenly TEAM NOLAN and rooting for the two of them. I can't even tell you how much this book captured my attention and how once again I am wanting more. Their story was one of the best that I have read in awhile and I thank S.R. Grey for allowing me the opportunity to once again read another one of her fabulous stories. Oh and who doesn't love a good second chance romance with a hot hockey player? No one that's who! So you know what you should do. GO BUY THIS BOOK NOW and devour it like I did!

This is the 2nd book in this series and what a story!
I was hooked, the characters make you feel, they made you understand and the friendships formed were just beautiful!
Nolan has a dilemma on his hands in regards to Lainey! Oh boy. When things get rather awry Nolan can't help but feel how he feels and do some things he shouldn't!
I really felt for Lainey! When you find someone you click with but things don't work the way they should, then you just feel like you want to hug the character!
The advice also in the story was truly heartfelt and I found myself sighing, swooning and happy with the way everything unfolded!

This is the second book in the Boys of Winter series. I have read book one as well as this and can be read as a standalone. We met both Lainey and Nolan in book one Destiny On Ice. This is a good second chance sports romance. I had to read this book for a few reasons: one I read book one as was looking forward to it. Two it is a second chance romance book and three it’s about hockey, my favorite sport. It’s a win-win for me.

The book opens with Nolan dreading his on-air radio interview with a shock-jock. He is afraid that his playboy ways be out and as well as secrets from his past that he wants to keep there. He is afraid the shock jock will expose his summer after there was a change in plans. All his fault I must say.

Lainey met Nolan on New Year's eve and wanted to forge forward with a relationship but Nolan got scared and ran. He is afraid of commitment. Though he does have his reasons. When he finally gets it all bets are off.

Lainey, I adored her. Boy, she did not make it easy for him and that was probably what I liked best. She made him work for her attention. She wasn’t a pushover and did not let him walk on her. I love a strong heroine, and she is most definitely strong.

They are so compatible and perfect for each other. They know what make each other tick and they understand one another. They also have undeniable chemistry. Though most of their time is hidden because it is known that Lainey’s sister does not like Nolan. The banter is good between them as I caught myself laughing out loud at times and waking the husband up. Oops.

This was a good read and the flow was great. We get to see old and new people and I am on pin and needles for the next installment due this summer. I so look forward to it.
