For five years Pepper has had no contact with her parents and feared the worst. Living with her three unusual aunts at Mugwort Manor, Pepper has learned that not only is she a witch, but she is also a vampire. Gradually, she is trying to learn the craft from her aunts (and that can be a very trying situation!) but dead bodies keep getting in the way. So Pepper has turned out to be an investigator and has solved many murders.
This book is no exception as a man dies in his bungalow at the B&B while in town for the orchid show. To make matters worse, someone from The Other is stalking Pepper and is trying to kill her! While sleuthing, Pepper narrows down the suspects but in doing so puts herself at risk and ends up being kidnapped with intent to kill!
The book is a combination of murder mystery with parts silly (the aunts), paranormal, and romantic. The author's sense of humor shines through as Aunt Maude talks to the curtains, thinking she is actually talking to Pepper. Maude refuses to get glasses, and is the butt of many jokes throughout the series. It seems our esteemed author doesn't always wear her glasses-rumor has it!
A fun romp with some of the most lovable yet infuriating relatives! You won't want to miss Pepper's latest crime solving episode and everything else going on in the lives of Mugwort Manor's crew (and everyone visiting)!

Wow, a lot of plot twists and false leads throughout the story. First there is a rebel group trying to overthrow the council. Then there is a murder. Dead parents reappear unharmed and alive and well. Add in three aunts who run a bed n breakfast and a cat who shifts into a human at the most inopportune moments. Oh, and do not forget the sexy Lucas who is trying to protect Pepper. Mix it all up and chaos abounds. A really fun series that hooks you from the first book and does not let you go. Cannot wait for the next book in the series.

A family mystery, a dead body followed by his totally frustrating wife, Pepper's hilarious relatives being themselves, and orchids! I guarantee that anyone will laugh their sox off reading this book, this series, this author! Yes, it's the latest in this series and yet a reader can simply hop in and enjoy, but I'll bet you six M&Ms that you'll hunt up the earlier books and be very glad that you did!

Cheats you!
Do not buy this book. Get it on Kindle Unlimited if you can. The last12+ pages are not part of the story. It is disappointing that the reader is cheated out of money and yet would like to continue the series. Kindle does a great job letting people know what is available by the author without misleading the readers into thinking they are paying for a 180 page book when in reality they are not.

Lackluster
The storyline was nice. The concept was one of cozy intrigue with a smattering of romance. But due to the lackluster writing style, it was uninteresting.
I was greatly disappointed in the inconsistent scenes. It was impossible to visualize the story when characters appeared in different places and postures. How did the hero find the damsel? How did the couple get from the kitchen to the patio and then to a swing?

Loved this book. Pepper and the aunts have another murder to solve in this one. One of their guests is found dead in his cottage and the question is who did it. Pepper sets out with the help of her aunts, friends and Lucas to figure out who did it. They also have to figure out who is spying for The Other while they are at it. Couldn't wait to finish the book once I started reading it.

I’ve actually read a paperback issue of this book but nothing on it on Goodreads thus the use of the ebook. Volume 6 of this series continues the shenanigans of Pepper Jasper and her crazy aunts. This time she finds more about her parents and also gets in the usual sort of trouble trying to find a murderer. Not my favourite of this series but still a good quick light read.

Oh my gosh! This book was so good. Pepper and her aunts find a body at the bed and breakfast. Pepper is learning more about the secret behind her parents that have been missing for 5 years and I absolutely love her best friend Linda and her cat shifter familiar HA !!!!!!! Such a great story! Developed characters with a mystery that will keep you guessing!

Good read
Book 6 is two mysteries in one.....who is the spy for The Other and who murdered their boarder and the suspects are many. It also has humor, no sex, danger, and mystery. The mystery is solved about the disappearance of her parents, but everyone is now in danger from the spy. Highly recommend.

This series rocks!
Morgana Best always delivers. I enjoy the insquabling with Pepper's aunts and the mysteries of the characters. These books are clean. A great pleasure to read. The characters grow in depth and quirks. Their world expands a bit more with each book.

and another murder in one of the cabins, more than one secret is revealed, including exposing a spy. Lucas has to get used to the fact that Pepper will not let a murderer go free. as usual,she falls into harms way, this time with a little help, she escapes danger twice! a page turner for sure

Light and fluffy and you can tell the series is drawing to a close. Hopefully the conclusion is satisfying. The romance develops nicely and there are major plot developments. Overall a fun lighthearted cozy mystery.

Pepper has been living in the Manor with her three aunt's withought knowing about her parents whereabouts until she sees them at the beach.
There is a murder of an orchid collector in one of the cottages and Pepper want to investigate, but as she find out of what The Other wants, she soon finds she is in danger.
I couldn't stop reading as it had twists and turns in the story, and I wanted to know what happened. The end was a surprise to me, I didn't see it coming, making it imposible to know who was who until the very end when everything regarding The Other and Peppers parents was explained.
This has been a wonderful book to read, and really funny with romantic moments; a really enjoyable series that has maintained it's four stars throughout all the instalments. I really love it.
