Comedian Gone Wrong #1

Comedian Gone Wrong

Rate this book
For years, Jimmy Tudeski has written some of the most controversial fictional comedies out there, but who is he? We know he's a writer, we know he's worked with some of the biggest comedians in the UK, we know he's ghostwritten many books for other people too, but if he's so good at what he does, then why hasn't he become a famous stand-up comedian himself yet?

All will be revealed inside this one-off publication, him hiding inside the pages of a book, simply because he's too scared to get up on stage and say anything out loud. A memoir of insightful topics, passionate rants and things that puzzle him on a daily basis, which confusingly leads him to believe he's not worthy of your laughter at all. Only available in paperback (with pictures inside the book too) Jimmy talks about his writing career, a caravan, even astrology, randomly talking everything a stand-up comedian would talk about in one of their own sell out shows. Question is – Why is Jimmy considered a comedian gone wrong?

We've built him up, we've laid the path, so get ready for some of his craziness, never seen in one of his books until now. This is it, Jimmy Tudeski in all his glory, ready to entertain and give you... Fu$king hell, talking about yourself in third person and selling yourself on the back of a book is actually harder than writing the inside part for you!

Warning, this book is mucky and should only be read by people with an open mind.

I'm starting to become a little bit of a Tudeski fan, simply because he doesn't hold back when writing anything. If you think his fictional stuff is shocking, you should try this book on for size. What he does is take a few topical debates, then smashes them apart with his filthy adult comedy, in a true bid to find EQUALITY for us all. Yes, in a book that doesn't hold back, mentions sex on every page, it turns out this guy fights for equality in a different kind of way and really does want it. His rants are hilarious, his drawings are childish, his sex talk in filthy and the stories of his personal life are very entertaining, then sometimes warming too. Give this man a medal, because at last we've found ourselves a true hero, who doesn't hold back, doesn't candy coat anything, then isn't scared to show his true feelings either. Mr Tudeski, this book was incredible. I know you're going to get plenty of people claim it's this and it's that wrongly, but I'm on your side - Fight for equality, not for revenge.

I love the way Jimmy Tudeski shares his story, his opinions, and his theories without any fear then just opens his mouth and lets it all out. So many times I sat feeling he can't say things like that, yet after hearing him explain it in more detail, it's crazy how it all made perfect sense. The writing and topics although random in places worked really well, the pictures inside the book an added bonus, but it was his constant reminder that his writing was for entertainment purposes only, yet it's clear he feels passionate about most of the things covered. All in all, I really enjoyed reading this book and I would definitely buy a second book if he ever decided to write another one like this.

Jimmy is one of those writers you're either going to embrace, or shy away from. When it comes to his writing of comedy, he doesn't leave much to the imagination and is sometimes very graphic or abrupt. I'm not going to sit here and say I've read everything, because I haven't yet, but what I have read so far, has been very impressive.

This book isn't one of Jimmy's fictional comedies, yet a part autobiography, part memoir, a full stand up comedy show inside a book. The topics of conversation are as random as a true stand-up, where many parts of his life have been thrown into his short story telling with much humor too. There's no doubt about it, Jimmy has lived a very eventful life and done things many of us wouldn't dream of doing in a short amount of time, yet if you read between the lines and look behind all the comedy, you can actually tell he's a lovely person.

I did tempt to send Jimmy a message on Goodreads, expecting an author to be too busy to talk to one of his readers, then he answered within a few days. Instantly, he thanked me for reading his books, then we talked about what's coming next, then he did something else quite remarkable too. He basically offered me everything. Free books, an opportunity to write something with him, even a chance for me to become a character on the front of one of his books and since then, I've heard he offers everyone the same level of love and generousity all the time. Jimmy isn't just a different kind of writer, ready to shock his readers with his very rude books, but he is one of the nice guys too. Many reading this are going to think I'm reviewing him in a one sided manner because I know him, but that's my point, I don't know him, I've only ever had a few short conversations with him online. He listens, he always answers, he is a truly nice guy and once you know this about him, his comedy not only becomes even funnier, but the true heart of the man comes out in this writing as well.

I don't just recommend the Tudeski books I've read so far, I urge you to give him a try and actually say hello to him too. He has a wonderful way of making you smile and it's clear he doesn't do this for the fame or fortune. When I first spoke to him, I was expecting Dexter from Battersea Parker to jump out on me, full of swear words at every turn, then this really shy and humble man turned up to say hello instead. Only three books in, Jimmy Tudeski is one of my all time favourite writers already and I won't be forgetting about him in a hurry. His theories are crazy, yet make perfect sense, his comedy is rude and sometimes offensive, yet you know he's not trying to offend anyone, and the smile he can put on your face is priceless. As you can tell, there aren't enough words in the world to tell you how great this guy really is and I really hope he accepts the invitation I've given him to my wedding next year. Thank you Jimmy, for your comedy, for your offers, for your kindness, and simply for being you.

Oh the stories you can tell and the places that you've been Jimmy Tudeski. What some of us normal people wouldn't dream of doing in a lifetime, this guy has already done it all.

A VERY honest account of parts of his life, mixed together with some crazy, yet logical theories in life too, which makes up a very entertaining book indeed. It's as though I was telling myself I wasn't interested and didn't want to read his stories as I turned the next page, yet I couldn't put the thing down, needing to know what he was going to do and say next.

Very funny, very informative, very enjoyable.

You may think his writing is controversial, you might think his humor is crude, but what Jimmy Tudeski does best, is bring everyone together with laughter and make us all think about those things that pass us by on a daily basis. As autobiographies go, this wasn't an autobiography or a memoir for that matter, but it was a highly entertaining book, one in which if you get yourself into it, will just keep giving. Jimmy's clear view on life is that love, health and laughter are the most important things and I guess even if I don't want to agree with everything he has an opinion on in the book, I can't argue with that.

It's very clear that Jimmy hasn't lead a very sheltered life like most of us. My favourite chapter was his take on horse racing and why he didn't make it as a professional jockey, which gives me a clear indication as to how he came about writing the book Thinking Racehorse. I also loved the parts where he stepped away from the comedy for a few seconds and talked about his family or members of his family that he has lost. To be able to write a adult comedy this way, then go deep and drop his feelings onto the pages as well definitely shows a talent in my eyes. His drawings were childish, some of his opinions are hilarious and his take on British politics sums up what everyone is thinking right now. I would love Jimmy to write more books this way because although his fictional stuff is crazily funny, he wrote with such passion in this book, that the comedy in him shined through much brighter.

Although this author is probably better known as a UK comedian, I've never read a book quite like this before. Who comes across as offensive in his rants and highly opinionated, Jimmy Tudeski only really says what others are secretly thinking to themselves and boy does he say it. Deep down he seems like a modest and humble guy really, who doesn't really believe in himself as a writer, but based on this hilarious book, I think he should be proud and take confidence from it. Loads of sex talk, loads of soft core swearing, a few London slang words I didn't understand, but on the whole, comes highly recommended by me.

I love somebody who can make me smile every single day, I love a guy who can open up and be completely honest, then I absolutely adore British men too. Jimmy Tudeski, you have three ticks from me and if you weren't a happily married man already, I would be all over you in a heartbeat ;) Your books are infectious and your humor although wicked, happily haunts me.

When it comes to a man writing a book like this, you would think it would be full of smut, sexist opinion and nonstop talk of football and drink. This book has everything you wouldn't expect a man to say, including deep and emotional sections, where some of his off the cuff theories actually make you question things yourself. This is what can only be called a walk through Jimmy Tudeski's life and the things he's done, all described as things he shouldn't have done and wasn't qualified to do. I want to say I laughed like I would at any stand up comedian but the truth is, I laughed just as much and this was delivered on paper, so it's well worth the read. Some lovely pictures inside the book, some very funny ones too.

There's no doubt about it, Jimmy Tudeski is only the third author I've found that writes in this very unique style. Augusten Burroughs, David Sedaris and now this guy all deliver their comical writing with no sense of ever holding back. What makes Jimmy refreshingly different though, is he writes with a sense of humbleness and modesty too. Whereas the other two seem a little more "I don't give a **** what you think" Jimmy does worry, does care and this makes him a lot more appealing.

His half memoir, half autobiography starts with his childhood, quickly moves onto his school life and before you can blink, he's started working already aged sixteen. Each part is written very well, nothing is rushed and I felt his words free flowing, easy to read and highly enjoyable. His writing is blunt, he is very outspoken, yet again, there's always a sense of shyness and modesty about him. Throughout the book Jimmy will often come up with the craziest of theories, yet instead of preaching or telling you that's how it is, he actually goes one better and tries to prove he has valid cause to believe in the things he suggests and thinks. His view on astrology is funny and insightful, and his very brash take on politics is brutal, yet honest. He goes from subject to subject, clearly not scared to tell you what he thinks, yet he is certainly scared of being judged by his loyal readers when he does so. He attacks his harshest critics fairly, yet wrongly, he talks about his feelings openly, then he shyly confirms he's been to bed with too many women for just a normal shy guy. He talks about being an author, how hard the industry is on him, then literally shows you how he writes his comedy, which if you didn't already know, it a lot harder than just telling a joke.

All in all this was actually an incredibly clever book. It's as though he has the stories to write a full blown autobiography and it be a very good one, yet because he doesn't feel important enough to do so, he added parts of a memoir, then a comedy routine to it as well. It's rude, it's funny, he swears quite a lot, but by the end of it, no matter whether you agree with his many rants, theories and stories or not, he definitely is a lovely person with a truly kind heart.

To sum Jimmy up, I would say he's a wonderful soul who just wants to make people smile all the time. It's as though he will put himself on the line and often laugh at himself, just to achieve this. For a man to be outspoken, then flash his ass in his own book, yet be so shy in real life, shows you he's a born entertainer. This book made me shudder, cringe, cry, and laugh, proving he's capable of so much more in life, yet it's clear he's happy where he is with the love around him, as he continues to battle for this thing called equality.

It comes at no surprise that with so many funny novels of misunderstood men written into his characters, Jimmy is a little misunderstood himself too. Throughout this book he laughs at himself, he laughs at things in life he doesn't understand and it's true you can misunderstand or take things he says the wrong way but here in this book its very plain to see that he as an author doesn't mind receiving criticism, just as long as it is justified, yet it never is. This book is very well written, it's very insightful and it's really funny. Me for one thinks you would make a great stand up comedian if your book is anything to go by and I would certainly read another of your memoirs.

Who are you Jimmy, and where did you come from? It's not often I will sit down with a memoir or autobiography, but a friend told me about this book that nobody seems to be able to get on kindle. For someone that hasn't lived in the limelight much in his life, not only has Jimmy done a lot, but his sharing and offering of parts of his life were amazingly funny. I have personally never come across an author willing to laugh at himself so much just to entertain his readers. Throughout the writing of this book he seemed relaxed, able to say anything he wanted to say and clearly wasn't scared about touching on some very sensitive subjects. Jimmy after reading your book, I do believe I would pay good money to watch one of your live shows then further more, age isn't that important to many people. The only thing I came out of this book wanting to know is if Tudeski isn't his real name, then who is Jimmy really?

It takes a very brave man to stand up and say the things Jimmy said in this book. yes I know it's classed as entertainment and delivered like a stand up comic might deliver it, but some of the things spoken about were incredible challenging and would have been for anyone. Great book, loved some of Jimmy's hilarious drawings and doddles inside it. This book lifted me at the perfect time.

During the first chapter Jimmy gives a very honest and brutal account of what it's like to be an author as a man and he doesn't hold back. The outcome is totally hilarious and sets a perfect tone for the remainder of the book.

Finally a book that gives us an insight into who Jimmy Tudeski really is and can you believe it, Tudeski isn't really his name, so the book takes that insight away almost straight away. For a stand up comedian, I would easily award this book 5 stars, but for a memoir, I'm not sure. I loved the parts where he wrote with passion about his life, yet don't think everything should have become a joke or something to laugh at with a punchline attached to it. I am definitely caught in two minds about this book, because as comedy goes, this book had me laughing plenty, but unless Jimmy finds everything funny in life, it just slightly let us down in seeing his true personality.

When a writer constantly delivers smutty comedy and loads of sexy fun in his fictional books, what else could we expect from a comedian, hell bent of delivering a smile to his readers? A twisted, smut filled romp of fun, opinions and general everyday conversation. A man willing to open up, talk honesty and never spare his own blushes. He talks about the jobs he's had in his life, he talks about his feelings, even losing his virginity. I don't know if life has really been a laugh from start to finish for Jimmy Tudeski, but he sure does make it feel that way.

A MAN SO PASSIONATE ABOUT EQUALITY & LOVE.

Short stories put together by a newish author and comedian, sharing parts of his life in a book he clearly didn't want to sound like an autobiography. Yes it's funny in places, but with so many theories given on such random things throughout the book, it was really hard to stay focused at times. For a man who clearly adores his family, worships the female anatomy and totally respects women; dangerously sounding like he's a man far too eager to please, I commend his efforts. To write a controversial book that needed to sound sexist and chauvinistic to deliver its constant punchlines, I believe he pulled it off perfectly. Jimmy Tudeski clearly wears his heart on his sleeve and can clearly make anything entertaining or sound comical. The hardest part for him would have been writing such daring topics, then coming out the other end respected by both reading genders. I really hope he gets the credit he deserves for this book, because it's very well written, it took guts to write it, then most of all, it did make me laugh many times over.

I was already a huge Jimmy Tudeski fan before reading this one and it came as no surprise just how funny his journey and true life bits were in this book either. If you ever want to know where this guy gets his ideas from, you need to read this book. He can laugh at himself, make light of anything, even paint drying. He's got a wicked sense of humour and I only wish half the people I knew were as laid back and as funny as him. This book shines a light on everything, especially in todays world, where everyone needs something to cheer them up.

Clearly a very funny comedian and writer at the top of his game. Never heard of Jimmy before the lockdown in the UK started, but his books have kept me very entertained, so thank you pal. Your rants about certain things are hilarious, your theories although sound crazy make perfect sense and your old personal stories are amazing. Well done on a book well written, I would love to read another of these in the future.
