The driver’s voice became muffled after I saw the lady from my window. She looked exactly like me; a mirror image. I shook my head. “Jesus!”

She left corporate world and picked her old passion of writing. Erika is her first thriller novel. Hiraeth is her first poetry collection. It is her ode to the autumn.
This is a very short thriller where in the opening scene we find Erika near her husband's body, crying, and telling the police that she killed her husband. The rest of the book is the follow up to this moment.
I thought it was an average thriller...until I reached the ending. I was so surprised by the ending. The ending was definitely the strongest point of the book, making the reading experience worthwhile. The plot is solid.
However, I think this would've been even a better book if the writing was a bit improved and if the book was a bit longer. The writing is very basic and amateurish. And as the book is very short, things were happening very fast and we didn't get to know the characters very well or get attached to them. Had the book was filled with a little more details, then it'd have been a 5 star from my side.
Overall, I enjoyed this book more than I expected, and I would highly recommend this book to thriller readers and non readers alike. This is a very short book and you'll fly through it. Pick this book up!
The book was all over the Bookstagram and I really wanted to give it a try. Had high expectations after reading people's reviews but after reading it myself I do find it to be incomplete a bit.
‘There's nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be.’
The story is about Erika and her life which is not so happening. She has lost her parents during her childhood and was stuck with her toxic boyfriend Jimmy. But there was one good thing about her life- her best friend Lara. Lara helps Erika find the love of her life - Ethan. They both get married and start living happily until she discovers mysterious things about Lara and Ethan.
'Sometimes we have to lose a lot, to be able to win in love and you never know this win was just the one you have been looking for, all your life!'
What were they both hiding? Was something more to them that Erika didn't knew about?I enjoyed reading this short & simple read until I stumbled upon the end. The end seemed incomplete to me and I had to read 2-3 times to understand the ending. The story is well paced and will definitely keep you hooked till the very last page. Though the ending seemed a bit vague but the story line was good. The language is easy & understandable.
London is an escape for Erika after her parents passed away in Dublin 💔 She is trying to make a new life here with a job and a new friend Lara her roommate 😇
After a series of toxic flings Lara tries to coax Erica to meet someone with a sensible decent profile on Tinder 😋
Then she meets Ethan and he is just what Erika needs but her overbearing dependence on Lara is off-putting for him too.... 🥺
Things look very peculiar too good to be true and Erika is in a turmoil to embrace the present or be haunted by the past 🤔
The end will definitely leave you open-mouthed but I wish the author could have given us more here 😁as am always craving for such psychological thrillers 😍
"The stars are all gone and the night itself slept I don’t remember if you are there or your memories just swept? Heal me for I am ruled by a pain So sharp that it explodes my visceral brain Please tell me if it is all in vain?"
Erika by Mansi Narula Kashyap is a thriller revolving around Erika. She moves to London after her parents die in a car accident and her life changes there for good. After dating other people she finally meets Ethan and falls for him. Ethan and Erika decide to get married in the early stages of their relationship but things aren't always rainbows and butterflies. Erika is not sure who she should trust anymore.
I started reading this book without any expectations because the blurb gives away most of the story but the climax blew my mind. The book is beautifully written with so many twists and turns. The interesting plot and uncanny characters had me hooked to the story throughout. The writing style is really good and easy to read. My only problem was the length of the book. I wish it was a little longer.
Overall it was a good read and I would recommend it to everyone.
This book was all over the bookstagram. So, I also thought of giving it a try. It's a psychological thriller based on a girl named Erika, her best friend Lara and her husband Ethan. Erika moved to London after her parents death to start a new life. She gets married to Ethan and her life takes some unexpected turns. The book's blurb pretty much gave away the story but it had a twist at the end which was amazing but it left me a bit confused. The book is only of 85 pages, yes it's fast paced and can be finished at one go. The story was well built which each chapter beginning with a relatable Bible verse. I couldn't connect the different events in the story and had to re-read and re think again. It's recommended for someone who has spare time and loves to lead psychological thriller stories.
Erika is a fast pacing and mind boggling thriller by Mansi Narula Kashyap. The book kick starts with a gut wrenching and bloody crime scene, where the protagonist very promptly accepts that she had murdered her husband but the cops somehow act weird. The successive chapters leads off with certain excerpts from The Bible, which is very interesting because the excerpts were wittily used to presage the content. Another factor which adds beauty to the presentation of chapters is a separate title given to every chapter. The milieu around Erika- the protagonist apparently appears to be very normal but if one analyses very keenly, they will be able to find red flags from the very beginning. As the story progresses, the behaviour of everyone around her become very questionable but at the same time you'll have this itchy little feeling that it is actually Erika who is behaving slightly odd. When we reach the midmost point in the story, it looks like all those who're close to her are plotting something very sinister against her. And this continues till the very end until it is very clear that she had been hallucinating everything. If you're someone who has read a lot of thrillers or watched a lot of Psycho thrillers or generally interested in psychological disorders, you might easily point out that she's hallucinating. But an expert in thrillers or not, this story is going to glue you to the seat till you've finished reading it. The language is very lucid and the characters are very well developed. The words used are simple, I mean you might need to Google one or two words but otherwise they're very common. So, that means new readers will also be able to enjoy it. Also, this book isn't very lengthy, which means if you want to start reading or if you're in a slump, this book can be a great companion. And the book cover definitely has my heart.
The author has done a great job of engaging the reader. The story manages to maintain a steady level of curiosity in the mind of the reader all throughout. Also the verses of Bible at the start of the each chapter which holds the theme of that chapter, preparing us for what to expect from the chapter.
It talks about love, friendship, mental health, fear and a lot more. It’s a short read, language is easy so easy to finish in one go. Writing style of author is unique.
There are a lot of plots and twists that hinged me to the book. And the end of the story really messed up my brain. Yes I didn't satisfied wity the end because it leaves out quite a few loose ends and unanswered questions.
The climax of the book was absolutely unexpected. But somewhat this story felt rushed up. Author could have write a little more and end this story briefly explaining.
Anyway overall it was a good read. So many things will unfold in the book . I will recommend this book to beginners, who want to try this genre.
We lose a lot in love, but it is actually our win, who knows?
Erika, a story about a girl who has lost her parents in an accident and has left all her memories and moved to a completely new place to get over her past. She lives with Lara in London. She and Lara are quite happy in their friendship but her love life is an endless turmoil of toxic guys. But Lara helps her find a ray of hope, Ethan, and Erika falls in love with him pretty soon and they marry in France, all of this happens in a week. All of this happens with a rather smooth and happy series of event but some disturbing events invade Erika’s sanity. Soon, the table turns and Lara gets sick and Erika encounters Ethan’s dark-sided. The story moves towards the climax pretty fast where you are interested to know how this one ends.
My Take:
The characters are rather eerie with their own set of problems that lead the story forward. All of them are shortly described. The plot is rather promising but is undelivered. All of the events in the book are rushed with no clarity and that kind of irritated me a little. One may predict various ways this book could end and it's a constant fight of which one will be the climax. Although the book was rather problematic at places, I was completely hooked throughout (no lying). Overall it was a light thriller. The verses from the Bible at the starting of each chapter were interesting and gave thoughtful insight.
I’d recommend it to people who want to step into the thriller genre or the ones who are starting to read as a whole.
It’s a book of thriller genre. So I couldn’t resist picking this up. It’s a short read that can be read in a day. As the title suggests, the protagonist of the book is Erika. Erika is an independent girl. She faced many hardships. The book starts with a thrilling experience. I liked that. Author has created nice suspense at the beginning only but I won’t spoil that. Erika’s parents dies in a car accident. So to escape from there memories, she shifted London. And there she met Ethan and got married to him. Now following that the real part starts. Read the book to unfold further plot. This is my favourite genre book and I loved the plot. Author has created a masterpiece in limited number of pages. That’s an amazing job. At the beginning I was wondering how author has plotted this suspense. And at the end, it was completely unpredictable for me. The narration style of the author is smooth that makes us feel like watching a movie. I liked the vocabulary and language used by the author. There are few good twists and turns. Overall it’s a complete package. Indeed a good one. Recommended from my side.
Haven't read many novellas till date. But this book compelled me to revisit my TBR and make major additions to it! My curious bones were tickled in the first page itself where the protagonist Erika is taken to prison after having shot her husband. The story runs in flashback as we travel back in time and dive deep into the life of Erika. The trauma following the death of her parents had since then manifested itself in the form of recurring nightmares which has forced her to leave her home and move to Dublin. There she meets Lara who quickly becomes her best friend and also her roommate. Owing to her history of bad dates and a recent pungent encounter with a guy named Jimmy, Lara sets her up with Ethan. After a jerky beginning, things become buttery smooth between them and the relationship sweetens to the point of marriage in a jiffy. But weird things start happening around Erika and it reaches to the point where she can no longer disregard them as coincidences. Questions start bubbling like acid in her mind. What's Lara hiding from Erika? Who's Ethan? Why has life been so suspiciously smooth ever since she'd met Ethan?... The darkness of the book prickles you from the first page itself and it just creeps into your mind as you progress further. The beginning doesn't give away any inkling of the enigma that's about to unfold. Every chapter ends in a way that'll make you inquisitive of what's to come next. The Biblical verses at the beginning of each chapter bear a deep yet subtle connection to how the story is going to unfurl thereto. The cover of the book is really well thought of. The language is lucid. The narration and the vocabulary are incredible and the climax is completely unanticipated and is an open ended one which gives the readers a scope of running their imaginations wild and the thoughts linger on long after the book has been finished. Initially, while reading the book I felt like some parts were a tad too precise for my liking and a few scenes could've been elaborated further. But the ending of the book justified all the loose ends! If you want a short read that's bound to keep you on the edge till the very end, then Erika-The Thriller is the one you are looking for! GO GRAB YOUR COPY!
✍️ What if you live a normal life and suddenly one day you realise that you just got up from your scary dream? The life you were living was not yours, the members of your family are not actually your family, the thing which was next to impossible is actually happening - isn't sounds crazy? That's how the book is.
✍️ It's a short mystery novel where obviously Erika is the main female protagonist who lost her parents in a car crash and moved to another city to get over from the shock.
✍️ There she lives with Lara, her roommate and only best friend who genuinely cares a lot about Erika. She found a match for Erika and always stay there for her.
✍️ Ethan, took entry in Erika's life through Lara and very soon secured a safe place at Erika's heart.
✍️ Within few days Erika and Ethan got married. But during this entire process Erika started experiencing some negative vibes from Lara and Ethan. Sometimes she ignored, sometimes she hide her true feelings. But more she tried to run away, deeper she dive into.
✍️ What happened to Erika? Is there something really mysterious things that needs concern or its just mere imagination of Erika's subconscious mind?
👉 To know more you need to read this book.
***The writing style must be appreciated as it holds back readers till last sight. *** The initial scene where Erika committed a crime and her husband was lying on floor covered by his own fresh blood created the entire mood of the read.
✍️ I enjoyed this book till last page. The ending is so unpredictable.
This is a story of Erika, a girl in her twenties living in London. She lives with her best friend Lara, a person she values deeply after the death of her parents. The trauma of their death keeps haunting her and give her sleepless nights.
The story begins with insights on her dating life, reflecting Erika's needs of a meaningful love relationship . Her friend, Lara, sets her up for a date with a guy named Ethan. Even though Erika is not interested in him in the beginning, she ends up liking him after a positive turn of events.
Things pace up fast(like a week😄) and we soon witness Erika getting married to Ethan in a very dramatic fashion.
Erika discovers that Lara has been acting weird and hiding things from her. She is also disturbed with sickening dreams about her mother-in-law.
Amidst all this, Ethan wants Erika to start the married life and move out to a new place. She sees her dead brother on road, and a women who looks exactly like her in the taxi. Is Ethan trying to harm her? Is Lara being a dishonest friend or Is Erika just hallucinating?
To know answer to all these gripping questions, one must pick up this chilling thriller.
My views on the book:
I usually am someone who don't mind cliffhanger endings, however this book felt like it needs some explanation, a sequel maybe!
✳️If you are interested in reading a short psychological thriller novella, then 'Erika: A Thriller' by Mansi Narula Kashyap is a good choice. The author has written this novel in a fascinating way that will draw us into the story from the very start.✳️
✳️The story begins with Erika crying and screaming at her husband's dead body, saying that she killed him. The crime scene was bloody and creepy.
Keep reading to uncover the mystery behind this crime.✳️
✳️This was a really good suspense thriller. I was excited to see what would happen to Erica. Since I've read a lot of thrillers, it wasn't easy to predict. I mean I had some predictions but I never thought it would end like this. The ending was really great and it took the book to the next level.✳️
✳️It was a quick read, we can read it in one sitting, but I would have loved it more if it was a little longer. Everything goes very fast here. I mean, I didn't even know why she married Ethan so quickly. So it was difficult to grasp certain things, but overall it was a good read and I enjoyed it. I also liked how the author used Bible verses at the beginning of each chapter. So try reading this if you need a quick read during your hectic schedule. I am sure you will enjoy it.✳️
Erika is a young woman who moves away to London to get away and “find herself” after her parents die in a car crash. She’s been living there for a year with her best friend Lara, whom she trusts with her life. After breaking up with her toxic ex-boyfriend, she goes on a date with someone Lara has set her up with. Though Erika doesn’t think much of the date, it turns out to be the most important one in her life. Within a week, Erika and Ethan are married. However, weird circumstances appear in her life once again. How does she handle these? “Erika: A Thriller” is the sixth novel by the self-published author, Mansi Narula. To be really honest, I didn’t have a lot of expectations from this book considering the size of it. And since it was only 85 pages, the plot was fast-paced and kept moving forward. One thing that did surprise me about this book was the climax. It was placed perfectly, and it was slightly disorienting as it is supposed to be. A couple of other things that I really liked were the Bible verses after the title of each chapter. They represented a little about the chapter itself and were refreshing to see as I haven’t seen them before. Along with these, she also hid a few messages in a couple of chapters — “We are what we choose in life”. These sort of messages fit in with the story and gave me something to think about as well as it will for the rest of her audience. Even though the pace was fast, the flow was a bit abrupt at times. Taking her marriage with Ethan, they had gone on one date which didn’t really complete, and then a week later, they were married. Along with this, the dialogues felt that they weren’t really being spoken by a person but a robot. Place and time were written above some paragraphs as though it was a play that I really didn’t need nor understand. If they had been incorporated as a sentence, it would’ve made more sense. Considering all of the above, the book was a light, short read. For an author who is still starting out, this was a pretty decent book which, on a scale of 1–10, I would generously give a 7. For someone who reads a lot of David Baldacci, Jeffrey Archer, and Robin Cook, it was worth my time and I would recommend it to anyone who fancies some mystery, thriller drama.
It's one of the best book I have ever read full of action, love, romance, motivation and suspense.
It's about a girl named Erika.
She is an independent girl full of dreams but very naive in terms of relationship.
Everytime she goes in relationship with a guy. She ignores all of his toxic habits which atlast results into breakup.
But she is really lucky to have a friend Lara. She is the best friend of Erika. And she always take care of her and support her.
After Erika's breakup with Jimmy.
Lara helps her to overcome from it. And makes her realize the beauty of life.
Meanwhile she installs a dating app in Erika's phone. And finds a guy named Ethan.
Next thing Erika knows is that Lara has already set up a date of her with Ethan.
So, Erika goes on the date but the memories of Jimmy makes her mad. Resulting into a very weird situation.
But somehow Ethan meets her again.
And then, after some more meetings both of them fall in love with each other.
And gets married.
But now Erika have to leave Lara. And, Lara is very ill But Erika still left her after some time by giving her responsibility to a nurse.
And oh my God! Lara dies, and more shockingly Erika murders Ethan. What's exactly happening here? And then, the cops take her to police station. She is crying, full of pain.
But wait now, comes the most shocking part. Which will leave you guys shocked.
And will force you think that what's exactly happening ? Is it all a kind of dream or illusion ?
I mean you will be speechless after reading the climax.
But what's the suspense here ?
My friends read this book to find answers of all these questions.
Guys, this is a really amazing book.
It will make you realize the power of friendship and true love. And how you should realize the beauty of life in the difficult phases.
And most importantly. I am sure you will be really excited to read the second part.
The the way of presenting the content, the engaging way of writing. Everything is amazing in this book.
You won't be able to put it down until you read it completely.
Just read it my friends, I can't wait to see how amazed you will be after reading it.
As the name suggests, the book is about Erika. After a tragic death of her parents, she moved to London and started a job as a florist. She also got a roommate called Lara. Lara was a very kind woman and a kind of well-wisher as well. She helped Erika in finding a tinder date and later Erika went on a date with Ethan. 1st date wasn't very fruitful, but later they both expressed their feelings to each other and decided to get married. Meanwhile, Erika started noticing some weird changes in Lara's behavior and some mysterious actions of her. Even Ethan was not behaving like his usual self.
What kind of mysteries Lara was hiding? Why Ethan started behaving abnormally? What is in the fate of Erika? You need to read this book to get the answers.
Being a short read, I did expect a fast pace and a crisp plot, and that's what exactly happened. It was indeed very fast paced but I felt like the element which makes a book a nerve wracking thriller, was missing in this one. The writing style of the book was pretty average and the language was decent enough. I think some scenes were irrelevant to the plot, but, I guess they helped in the character building of Erika as a schizophrenic. Verses from the Bible were quoted in the beginning of each chapter, which maintained the authenticity of the book and adds a special charm to it. The book ended on a very questioning note. It was a satisfactory ending yet it will make you question the whole story. Many loose ends were left untied which can be interpreted by a reader in his own way.
Talking about the characters, all the characters were introduced in a very subtle manner. Erika's character was indeed very weird and creepy at the time. Mentions about LSD clarified that she was a druggie. Ethan and Lara were also very mysterious. What were they upto and the reason why did they started acting weird is still unknown.
Overall, it is a good book. There is a lot of scope in improvement because clearly author knows how to write an amazing story. Some improvements here and there would have made it an exceptionally good book.
Content - Erika, after her parents' death moved to London from Dublin in search of a better life and was staying witj her new best friend Lara, with whom she is sharing an apartment. Erika wanted to forget about her troubled past but sometimes bad memories, nightmares, hallucinations haunted her, making her life miserable. Her only good times were with Lara but sometimes Erika felt like there is something weird about Lara as well. In all of these, she met with Ethan through a dating app and eventually they got attracted to each other and finally got married. But here too her troubled past haunted her and weird, eerie things started to happen with her and lastly there was an unintentional murder. . What are these weird things that are happening with her? who was murdered? What was the reason behind all these? 📖 📖 My Views - The book is a thriller containing psychological and paranormal incidents. The narration and the storyline is really engaging and spine-chilling. The incidents described here will surely give you goosebumps. The author also gave us a beautiful friendship story between Lara and Erika. The climax was really twisty and feels like a cliffhanger. . The language is simple and lucid. This is a very short read which can be finished in just one sitting but you will feel like the story could have gone further. . Overall a very thrilling yet beautiful and nice read.
The story begins with a murder of a husband (Ethan) by his wife, Erika. But how could she have murdered him? She had loved him dearly. It all started with tinder and they soon decided to spend their lives together. But soon Erika began to sense unusual things. Her best friend, Lara, is also a very important character in this book who has always supported Erika like her family member and friend through thick and thin. So will she be there to solve Erika’s life troubles for her?
Each chapter begins with quotes from the bible. The story was fast-paced. The end was really surprising. I was so looking forward to why Erika murdered her husband because he seemed to be a really nice guy. I was really surprised to know the truth. Though some events still remained unclear for me. The different characters added to the spice of the plot. The language of the book is very easy to grasp, especially for youngsters. This book is suitable for all ages to enjoy.
The lines quoted in the blurb- “The driver’s voice became muffled after I saw the lady from my window. She looked exactly like me; a mirror image. I shook my head. “Jesus!” These lines play a very important part of the story. I really loved the suspense thriller. This is a short story, can be read in one sitting.
Erika is a small and light read thriller which you can easily finish in one sitting. It’s a journey of a girl who moves to London to run away from the nightmares and unpleasing memories after the death of her parents.
In London she shares a apartment with Lara, with whom she had all her good and bad times now. Meanwhile, due to lara she meets Ethan with whom she gets married in a span of a week. But soon she sees and realise the weird things happening with her. She witness the incidents which only she notices and also see a mysterious girl-Maya.
What was happening? Was this all real or just her imagination? Who was Maya? Is this all a trap or was she going mad? Why is it happening to her? And many more are questions to which this book will give you the answers.
The plot of the book is very interesting and will keep you guessing what will happen next. The flow is nice and the characters are well crafted and the cover is relevant. The language is simple and easy to understand. Though I personally felt that the narration could have been better. The short descriptions at times left me confused at times and disturbed my focus with the storyline. . Overal, it is a small sweet read recommended to whoever is looking for a light thriller.
Erika: A thriller by Mansi Narula Kashyap. No. of pages: 85
Blurb: This is a twisted story of Erika, her boyfriend Ethan, and her best friend Lara. Everything seemed to be going smooth and well until Erika senses something suspicious going on and finds out that neither of them had been completely truthful with her.
My review:
There is no hint of anything thrilling or mysterious until past 50% of the book, while it is mentioned that the book is a thriller right in the title.
The book is written in an amateur manner with repetitive text and plain narrative.
The whole story goes like something happens and then something happens and then something else happens and you would wait for all of the happenings to come down and concentrate at a point, but that never happens. There is no closure to the events that happened in the story.
But in the ending though, there is a really unexpected twist, very abrupt and completely changed the story. It was a good part and also the best part of the story.
Another good thing about the book is that enough things happen in the book to keep you engaged, so maybe if you are really bored and have nothing better to do, you can pick this book. But I don't recommend this book to anyone.
📚Book Review:- Book- Erika,a thriller, @authormansi_nk @letuswritepublishing 🍁 The Book is about an independent girl named Erika, who moved from Dublin to London to start a fresh life after her parents died in an accident. The plot reveals all the occurances that happens between Erika, her best friend Lara & Ethan who she loves. 🍁 The story is very fast paced, You need to grasp each scenes very quickly . Also, the book was able to maintain suspense throughout, which keeps the readers engaging till end. This is a short read of 86 pages which I completed in one seating. 🍁 The writing style is lucid & language used is simple. Few characters has been introduced & each of them holds an equal weightage. The Bible Verses which are added at the top of each chapter ,adds an advantage to the book. 🍁 The ending was the best part of the book as it was unpredictable & completely changed the whole perspective of the story. 🍁 But being a fan of thriller genre, I would recommend that more work could have been done on the storyline & also the scenes could be little elaborative. 🍁 This book is perfect for a quick one time read & also the beginners can opt for this book as it's an easy read. 🍁
Erika has shot her beloved husband! She calls the emergency number with blood on her hands claiming she shot him. How did she get there? What compelled her to kill her true love? This novella is gripping from the onset and makes you want to get to the bottom of it. The twist in the tale at the end of the book came out of the blue and explained a lot of events which I felt were rushed in the beginning. I loved the connection between the two friends, Erika and Lara. Lara had a possessive streak towards Erika and she stood up to her through thick and thin. The whirlwind wedding without any preparations and with just a couple of dinner dates preceding it surprised me but of course the clincher, in the end, explained everything. I loved Erika's work setting, working in a flower shop in London, surrounded by blooms, must have been a joyful experience. Short and sweet, this novella was quite an intriguing read, with just the right amount of nail-biting suspense and a pinch of drama. If you are looking for a quick read to get over the reading slump during these tough times, this is the perfect book for you.
As you know thriller-suspense is my favourite genre to read when I got a chance to read this book, I was very excited. . This is a very well written book with so many twists and turns. The very first chapter drops a bombshell on the readers. It is a very good and interesting read. Loved all the little verses mentioned before every new chapter. . The story revolves around three main characters Erica, her best friend Lara, and her new boyfriend Ethan. Erica lost her parents in a car accident after which she leaves her home town and starts living with Lara in London. She works in a flower shop and is happy after a long time. Laura finds Ethan for Erica on Tinder and sets them up. Erica thinks Laura is like her sister and trying to protect her. But Erica has gone through a lot and often takes valium. There are many instances of hallucination in Erica's life. The line between reality and dreams often gets blur for her. What turns her life takes?
Read to know in this amazingly written thriller. The story somehow ends on a cliffhanger. Wish there was more to read and more about what happens in the future of the protagonist.
Following the title the story begins with a bloody murder scene, the next moment Erika finds herself in a cell. Erika,a young and beautiful girl shifts to London after losing her parents in an accident; here she finds comfort in Lara's friendship. Lara a divorce who works in the university library is Erika's roomie, Freund and protector. After a whole Erika meets Ethan and in just 3 weeks they get married in Paris.
After marriage Erika finds creepy things happening around her - Erika finds her brother (studying in Canada) in mid-road, Lara is ill, Ethan turns violent add many more...
How will Erika face this confusing situation? Is someone trying to scare/frame Erika? Whom did Erika kill?
Story begins smoothly with a simple story in the London rains but to discover the secret the reader has to wait till the very end, the climax reveals the secret - unexpected secret. The journey of this suspense thriller is a delight to read. This story connects with both the faces of the coin - open book & hidden secret, friendship & love, happiness & violence and above all reality between multiple illusion's; this surely is a book not to be missed.
ERICA🦋 . Well, the name and the cover itself created a mysterious effect and YES! Its a thriller which can be included in a really "light" thriller genre. . Pick it up if you are looking to spend a Sunday afternoon leisurely with your favorite cup of tea cause it's a fast paced story which you will be able to complete in just one sitting. . The blurb🥀 Erica, a sweet naive girl who "always" dated toxic men finally meets the love of her life with the help of her best friend Lara and gets married but little did she know her life was about to crumble....which ultimately resulted in murdering her own husband. . What made her do it?! . The entire story revolves around this simple question. There were regions where we could predict what was actually going on but the epilogue hit me hard and for me that was the best thing which I loved about this one.The plot was interesting and the author has tried to keep the readers hooked on to it by maintaining the inscrutable effect till the end but I only recommend it if you are truly looking for a short yet suspenseful read. ⭐⭐⭐
When Erika decided to let go of her dreadful past and start a new beginning, everything seemed hopeful. Her friend ,Lara, supported her, and she found someone with whom she wanted to spend rest of her life. She stared seeing a ray of hope... until the day she got a message - no texts, just a picture! That day marked the start of misfortunes in her life... Who was sending these messages? What were they trying to inform her?
When it comes to thrillers, the details always fascinates me. Like the background of characters, their thoughts, how well the situations have been executed, etc.. In this book, I felt the character development could have been a bit better . Erika's past was mentioned only slightly in the story. Also, I felt like the story ended too soon. Throughout the book, simple language is used and the plot is interesting.
A short one time read. If you are new to this genre or if you are looking for a light read, go for it!
I don't want to give away anything but I'm a Romance kinda person and thriller is not my cup of tea but this book got me sitting in a corner like a fool. I fell in love with the writing, it was flow-y and I loved the setting. Author didn't exaggerate anything, she wrote is so precisely that I, as a reader couldn't stop thinking about why, what, what's next?. Erika lives with her best friend Lara in London and meets the love of her life, Ethan through tinder and everything goes well until she starts having 'too-bad-to-be-true visions' until she sees her whole world disolving in tears... and... Blood. It's a fresh, light and keeping you on the edge kind of read. It has been a long time since I've given a book 5 stars but this one deserves it!
It’s a short story with around 85 pages but the story has a lot of weightage. It will leave you baffled. It is a perfect story where a girl rises above all her problems and sadness and gets to become independent and own a beautiful flat in London with her best friend and gets married to a rich man with a good heart until things start to uncover. The ending will leave you dumbstruck and make the whole story so much more interesting.
A captivating, fast paced story . Loved the way it was penned down, with each character being brought alive in a way that it keeps you engaged till you reach the last page. Worth 'Not a miss'!
