Florrie I don't do well with emotions and yucky love stuff. I do the best I can, but at the end of the day, I'm better at showing someone I love them by fighting for them. That's the way I've always been and how I'll always be. And I have one helluva fight ahead of me. I'll do anything for the people I love, but what I didn't expect was to be fighting the one person I thought would always be on my side. I don't know if I can ever forgive him for this or if we can ever move forward. Some betrayals are just unforgivable.
Alec Life is going great. I have the woman I love by my side and a kid that is quickly becoming a huge part of my life. What can go wrong? Then it happens. One phone call changes my world in such a profound way that I'm not sure anything will ever be the same again. I risk losing it all with my decisions, but I have to stand up for what I believe is right. I just hope that when the dust settles, I still have someone on my side.

Classic Reed Security with drama, humor and terrific people!
This book was another great Reed Security story. I really enjoyed the drama and the the romance. This book was about Alec and Florrie who have been on the same Reed Security team for a while. There was a previous book about their early relationship, Alec (Reed Security, #17). I haven’t yet read that book but can’t wait to find out more. I plan on reading all the books I missed since I started at book 21. These two have quite the steamy relationship.
Alec has asked Florrie to marry him and she agreed. Florrie (her mother named her after Florence Nightengale), can’t have children. However, Alec and Florrie have had temporary custody of Reid who is fourteen since they found him near death eight months ago. They are moving toward adoption and both of them love Reid like he is their own child. Reid has been through a lot since his Mother married an abusive Senator and his step-father used to throw him in the basement for days on end.
Reid ran when he overheard his stepfather say he was planning on killing Reid. The Senator thought that having a murdered stepson would gain him sympathy and voter support. Reid is now doing much better and they have been living in the panic room at Reid security until their house is ready. It is called a panic room but basically it is a panic apartment and some of the other Reid Security agents and their families have lived there at one time or another.
Reid’s Aunt and Uncle from Utah find him and contact social services to gain custody. This ends up causing a rift between Florrie and Alec when they decide to handle the custody battle in different ways and don’t agree with each other. The start of the book says you will end up being on one side, Florrie’s or Alec’s and that held true. Though I was on Team Alec, I could see Florrie’s point of view and in some of the things I thought she was right. Though I did think that either way, it would have ended up the same or similar, just quicker.
I won’t go into how they disagreed and what happened. However, I really liked this book. I thought Reid’s story was compelling and his struggle to catch up to other kids his age was pretty great. I know that the next book is going to be the last Reid Security book but I would like to see more about Reid when he grows up. Caitlin, Cap’s 10 year old daughter (going on 30) was Reid’s best friend in this book and I can see them together at some point.
The one thing I didn’t like about the book was that after Florrie and Alec disagreed about how to go about the custody issue. They had relationship problems. I didn’t mind that and I even liked that their friends often jumped in on their issues to let them know when one of them was being to harsh or did something idiotic. I just got sick of the back and forth after a while and I really disliked Florrie at that point. I think that she took things way to far and didn’t even try too see Alec’s side of things when he knew exactly what her side was about and could even understand her side but he still stuck to what he believed in.
Sometimes in books I like it when someone is being a jerk or unreasonable and the other person doesn’t let them get away with it. I liked what Alec did and thought Florrie was in the wrong most of the time. I also loved the supporting characters and this book was as good as the others with the humor. These Reed Security guys are so funny sometimes when they think they or their friends are doing things that aren’t manly. The scene about the fanny packs was hilarious and the ending was fantastic.
I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.
He cheats only a few chapters away from the end. I thought I should warn people who don’t want to be blind sighted the way I was and avoid the anger I felt.

What a whiny wishy washy little bitch. Instead of bowing out of their relationship (because said relationship is toxic, with nothing good to keep them together) like a better man would, he has an emotional connection with the ow, WHILE still hanging onto his relationship with the h. After a whole book of hatred and negativity, he decides to get it on with the ow. Literally towards the end of the book! He doesn’t even know the woman apart from a deep meaningful conversation. This makes it all the more hard to swallow because the connection is powerful enough for him to run to her, have sex with her. Full on, pda in the rain, intense sex in a car park, after a fight with the h. No mention of protection. I kept waiting for her to contact him with a pregnancy surprise.
I’m not gonna be shocked if the Hxh don’t last in the next books in the series.
So it starts - HERO AND HIS FRIEND: Within minutes of him meeting the ow, his friends can sense something: “What are you doing?” “Um…” I glanced around me. “I think I’m here because you dragged me here. I figured you would know.” “I’m talking about the chick,” he said, smiling over my shoulder at Amanda, waving at her casually. “It’s called having a conversation.” “But why are you having a conversation?” “Well, shit, Derek. When someone walks up to you and starts talking, what do you do?” His eyes bugged out and he chuffed out a laugh. “If it’s a woman? I run the other fucking way as fast as I can.”
2nd time they see each other HERO AND OW: “There was something that passed between us as we stared at each other. It wasn’t exactly a spark or chemistry, but it was enough to make both of us pull back and pretend that whatever it was didn’t just happen.”
3rd time HERO AND OW “I drove through the rain, barely paying attention to where I was going. I was walking into the bar before I even realized what I was there for. She was still at the bar and when she saw me, she must have known. She stood and walked over to me, grabbing my hand as she pulled me out the door.”
Then: The explosive sex scene. (((Wowzer)))
Then HERO AND HEROINE: “So, you slept with someone else for an ego boost?” I asked. “Yeah, if that’s the way you want to look at it. I needed someone to want me, and she was there.” I glanced away, unable to look at him anymore. Not because he had slept with another woman, but because I was ashamed that I had pushed him into feeling like that. How long had he been feeling that way? How long had I been making”
Ugh SO MUCH more happens and I thought I could write a decent review but what’s the point of going any further than this. The h is a nasty piece of work. Gives him hell, but instead of walking away like he should’ve, he goes and has really good sex with a really nice gal. (He’s sure to remind us of this later when he defends her to the h🙄)
Her characters remind me somewhat of Suzanne Brockmann’s so I enjoyed them. Reminded me that there can be humour during the toughest of times. I’d like to read me of this author’s work.
So I have to say that I love this author and writing style. A one clic or me no matter what the blurb or storyline is, I’ve always enjoyed whatever it was. This one with the cheating though, was too much for me. Knowing how much he put up with Florrie, and how much he loved her and the fact that he purposely went back to the bar for Amanda and had unprotected sex. Just no.

I am so happy to have found this author and she does not disappoint. With this book, she has once again delivered an emotionally packed storyline with characters that take one’s breath away as real-life situations bleed onto the pages. It can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading the series from the beginning so you meet the characters and see how the dynamics play out between the different people. Alec is the Reed Security leader of team five. He is a tortured man who has done everything in his power to move away from his past to be the best that he can be. However, he takes it upon himself to make decisions that can impact others without their input which causes some blowback. Florrie is a member of team five and Alec’s significant other. She is a woman with trust issues and knows her own mind and what she wants out of life. Reid is a fourteen-year-old boy who lived a life that no child should have to endure. Fortunately, he was found by Florrie and Alec when he was living on the street and his life did a one eighty. Florrie and Alec took Reid in and they became his temporary guardians. However, when questions with regards to Reid’s guardianship arise, a wedge begins to form between some of the members of the security team. I have to say that I was team Alec. He understood what Reid had gone through and was able to see past his own feelings to do what he felt was in Reid’s best interest. Florrie came off as a selfish woman who was unable to think about anyone except herself. This is one riveting read that any reader should pick up and experience for him or herself. I highly recommend. I volunteered to read a copy of this book and all opinions are my own.
Florrie and Alec are not only team members, but they are engaged to be married and even though Reid isn’t theirs by blood he completes their family. When they face the possibility of losing Reid their very different reactions set off a chain of events that leaves them both devastated.
Suddenly two people who are planning a future together can’t face each other in the present. Hearts are broken, mistakes are made and it may just take the entire team at Reed Security if they are going to find their way back to each.
This story takes us on an emotional journey about love, forgiveness, healing and realizing that anything worth having is worth fighting for.
What a ride Nightingale was! Giulia Lagomarsino really upped their emotions with Florrie and Alec’s story.
Alec and Florrie were an emotional mess. Alec was the man who just wanted to love her, and Florrie was the woman who didn’t know how to be loved. And this was the root of all their problem.
Reid was the sad, broken boy who came to live with them . Florrie was told she would never have children and Reid was hers until one day he wasn’t. The downward spiral started when Reid’s ain’t and uncle wanted him. Florrie was out of her mind crazy and Alec was the calm rational one. When Reid left their relationship went from bad to unfixable. My heart broke for each of them until it didn’t anymore for Alec. He did something that is unforgivable and I’m still not sure how I feel about Florrie forgiving him. It was clear after his mistake he realized what’s he’d done but it was too to take it back. The unbearable hurry that Florrie felt when she found out the truth was painful. I cried for her. Being hard to love doesn’t make you unlovable, it means if a person truly loves you they’ll fight for you harder. Alec was willing to fight until someone else came around. And that was the moment I no longer felt sorry for Alec. When Florrie was being horrible to him I honestly felt so much pain for him. I thought he was a hypocrite when it came to Florrie and Jamie.
I think Alec and Florrie were two broken people who’s broken pieces fit together. No matter what they went through they came out on top and together. Their story was raw and emotional and was completely a real life thing. I think Nightingale is a reminder that love will win if you’re willing to fight for it. Second chances don’t always happen but when they do you hold onto them and never let them go. Alec and Florrie climbed their way out of rock bottom and surprised the hell out of me.
Giulia Lagomarsino has delivered another 5 star Reed Security book. Nightingale has me feeling all the emotions. I laughed, I cried, I wanted to slap everyone. Each and every Reed Security character adds something to the book. I loved Alec and Florrie’s story more than I thought I would. They are two characters that are hard to love, until they aren’t.
Giulia as done it again there's nothing this author cant write. Nightingale is book #24 this isnt a stand alone. To understand nightingale you will need to read Alec. This was difficult to read. Florrie and Alec receive some bad news about their temporary custody of Reid. Florrie more or less caused a major rift Between all the Reed security guys. Florrie really got on my nerves and I wanted to slap her at times. She got told she could never have children so I do understand what she planned on doing. Alec at times I found to be a wimp. You either hate this author or you love her there is no In between with giulia. The emotions she draws out of you is just beautiful. Find out how it all plays out then pick up nightingale. You wont be disappointed. Cant recommend this author enough.

Alec and Florrie have finally admitted they're a couple, gotten engaged, and are happy. Then something happens that has the potential to tear them apart. Will they ever be on the same page or will their differing opinions drive a permanent wedge between this not so easy couple?
Wow, this one is intense. I gotta admit right off the bat that I was not happy with Florrie. She was selfish, cruel and so in her head she couldn't see beyond her own nose. Alec made mistakes, too, though, and I could see why she was angry, but the extremes she took that anger were unacceptable to me and dampened my enjoyment of the story. These two are definitely not one of my favorite of the Reed couples.
That being said, I did like this story, it's intense, angsty, and sexy too. Not as action oriented as some of the previous installments, but that's OK because the relationship was really the important part of the story.
It took me a while to figure out what I wanted to say about this book. I hated Florrie in this book, she was a whiny abusive bitch to Alec through no fault of his own. She makes him her personal punching bag because of a really crappy and hard situation they go through with Reid who they are fostering. There is cheating in this story which would normally I would not even read, but to me it didn’t really feel like cheating. Florrie tells Alec repeatedly that it is over and that he is a horrible person, I think at some point he was bound to believe her.
I gave this book the 4 stars because Giulia wove the story so well to make me hate Florrie as much as I did and feel so much sympathy for Alec.

The beginning of this book reads #TEAMFLORRIE #TEAMALEC. I may be in the minority, but I am #TEAMALEC all the way. When the romance of this couple was introduced on a previous Reed Security novel, I found Florrie to be selfish. Lagomarsino outdid herself with this novel. In this one not only is she selfish, she is also shortsighted, empathetic and cruel.
I don't think I have read a book recently that caused me to so strongly dislike a character. I give this book 4 stars. I would have given it 5, but in my opinion Florrie didn't need a HEA. She needed to learn how we treat others often has repercussions that you can't come back from.

Fun, sexy mexy, plenty of action and yes at times tears.
This is by far the best series and the offspring series I have read this year.
The complex threads that Giulia weaves her stories, and her characters keeps you coming back for more. You will be riveted to the pages and find that hours have passed by the time you manage to pull yourself away.
You will laugh your arse off when you are not sweating through the action.
Oh this was rich:she made me do it ,I felt so small so to feel like a man I had to fuck a stranger.great guy what‘s Not to like and he blames her and she understands him ???
Here we have cheating without real grovel and he even fucks without protection, they don’t talk about it,hello??
Zero stars for me

Holy Cow!! I won’t say that both of them made me angry, but boy Nightingale sure did.
Florrie is a team member of Reed Security. She is tough, strong, and independent. She’s also selfish, bullheaded, and single minded, in my opinion. She and her teammate Alec hid their relationship for three years before they made it official and let the rest of Reed Security know that they were a couple. Of course, Craig, their other team member figured it out sooner than the rest, by pure coincidence.
Alec is the lead for Team 5 of Reed Security. He makes a lot of decisions for the team when they are in the field. The only problem is that he has a hard time shutting that off when they are home and he doesn’t discuss things with Florrie and Craig, which causes a lot of problems. He wants to protect Florrie and she is so independent that she has a hard time letting him take care of her.
Reid is a young boy that left a bad situation at his stepfather’s house. He ended up on the streets and ran into Florrie and Alec one night and instead of turning him over to the authorities, they took him in and cared for him. He’s a young teen and has found a home where he feels safe and loved. When his temporary custody comes into jeopardy it causes all kinds of issues with Reed Security.
These two are both strong willed and pig headed, but Florrie really made me angry through this book. She couldn’t see anything besides her own thoughts and feelings. She was determined to do what was needed, but she didn’t stop to think of the repercussions. I enjoyed the story, the tensions, the characters, the comedic relief, and the overall story of this book. While I was angry a lot with Florrie, I could understand her devastation, but not her actions and treatment of Alec. I love the character in this series, and I devour these books, but this one had me wanting to throat punch Florrie most of the time. Her actions and words were hurtful and destructive. I felt that Alec deserved better than what she was giving him. I give this story a 5-star review and look forward to more of the Reed Security Series. I would love to see stories of the kids as they grow up, especially and Reid and Caitlyn. If you like stories with Alpha males, strong women, security details, and crazy families, you will love this series, and you should one-click it right away.
I wasn't quite sure what to expect since we already had Alec's story And they were together and got Reid in their life. Now we end up with Florrie's story. And now we have other family members come in forward for Reid since the senator was killed and his mom died.
The story was actually an interesting read, but there was too much conflict and hostility between the team members. And that I just couldn't get on board with. Florrie didn't want to lose Reid at any cost. And Alec wanted Reid to know his family And have the option of being included in a family. Because growing up, Alec did not have that.
In the end, they lost custody through the court and Florrie was ready to go on the run with Reid. But Alec didn't want that kind of life for any of them. So he did not support it. Team members were turning on team members as everyone was divided and who they supported. Going on the run would mean Reid would never have a normal life and Alec understood this. And wanted more for all of them. But Flory was too caught up in wanting to keep Reid. That she didn't see it that way. So everyone was pulling guns on everyone to try to allow, and prevent, Florrie from leaving with Reid. It was a hot mess. Alec got his butt kicked several times in the book by standing up for what he believed in and for a while, he absolutely lost Florrie.
She also treated him like absolute garbage. She was so mad and could not see beyond her own anger of losing Reed that it really was for his benefit and in his best interest overall. Which she finally saw at the end of the book. As they went through counseling to work things out.
Ultimately they were able to go visit Reed which was good for both of them and they were able to see for themselves that he really was doing okay. They let him know they were always there for him and then they went home. And found out they were pregnant with their own munchkin. But they were nervous because she already lost one baby due to her and demetriosis.
The ending was cute with Tony's announcement of his baby and his name. So that was fun too.
I'm looking forward to the end of the series at this point though. Well I am very invested in the characters, I'm also very much over some of the bad stories. Lol
Nightingale is the latest entry in the Reed Security Series. This one was a hard read. In her preface, the author mentions that you will either come down on Team Alec or Team Florrie, which is very accurate. The meaning of family, the baggage we carry into our relationships, how we handle conflict, and hurt are all dealt with in the book.
Alec and Florrie have custody of Reid, who is the victim of child abuse by a very prominent step-father. He's fearful, he doesn't trust, and he's deep into adolescence. Reid wants to trust Alec and Florrie, but he's still frightened and plagued by nightmares. Custody of Reid, and who should have that custody becomes the driving factor of the book. This issue is what will make or break the relationships in Reed Security.
I won't go into the motivations for what drives Alec's stance or Florrie's stance, as that is the book's crux. But I will say that it causes friction in their relationship and the work dynamics of the company. This friction becomes a focal point for the book as the debate rages on which side is "right." One obvious thing is that people are hurtful when they are determined to be "right."
Because of all of the conflict, you would think it would not have the usual comic flair through dialog you usually associate with these books. You would not be more wrong. Once again, I laughed out loud at the exchanges of insults and the banter of these characters. Craig, in particular, was goofily charming with his take on his place in the relationship with Alec and Florrie and his view on visits with Dr. Sunshine.
I have only read one previous book in this series and still don't feel like I have missed too much to know what is going on. The author does an excellent job of filling in gaps and building a foundation where you can read the book and not feel lost. That alone and the dialog make it worth reading. The characters are real; the relationship dynamics played out between two strong personalities is tough but rewarding to watch.
The story has laughs, suspense, guilt, betrayal, pain, and action.
If you have not read the below, I would recommend reading those books(s) first Sinner (A Reed Security, #1) Cap (A Reed Security, #2) Cazzo (Reed Security, #3) Knight (Reed Security, #4) Irish (Reed Security, #5) Hunter (Reed Security #6) Whiskey (Reed Security, #7) Lola (Reed Security, #8) Ice (Reed Security #9) Burg: A Reed Security Romance (Reed Security #10) Gabe: A Reed Security Romance (Reed Security #11) Jules (Reed Security #12) Sniper: Book 1 of a 3 book arc (Reed Security #13) Jackson: Book 2 of a 3 book arc (Reed Security #14) Chance: Book 3 of a 3 book arc (Reed Security #15) Phoenix Rising (Reed Security #16) Alec (Reed Security #17) Storm (Reed Security #18) Wolf (Reed Security #19) A Mad Reed Security Christmas (Reed Security, #20) Rocco (Reed Security #21) Coop (Reed Security #22) TNT (Reed Security, #23)
This is more of Florrie and Alec’s story. Alec and Florrie are planning on getting married. They have each other and Reid a child they have custody of after he almost died. Florrie can’t have children but with them having Reid they have made it work. Reid has a lot of issues and does not trust easy. He went through a lot of bad stuff in his short life. They have been protecting him and living in a panic room to help him deal with his past. But when someone wants custody of Reid both Florrie and Alec having different ways of handling the situation. This puts them at odds. Can they keep Reid and repair the relationship that now has tears in it that were not there before? Or will they lose not only Reid but themselves?
I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read. Very emotional story that will have several triggers for some. But all and all it was a great story.
Wow, this was another fantastic and emotional read. Alec and Florrie feel like they are complete since they rescued Reid from the streets and have temporary custody of the 14 yr old teen. Then everything comes crashing down when relatives from Utah claim to be his aunt and uncle and want him to live with them. Florrie is suspicious of them and wary but Alec investigates them and thinks they are good people and sincere. When the Judge rules in the aunt and uncle’s favor Florrie is devastated and blames Alec for not fighting for Reid. She’s ready to run with him and never look back. Alec loves Reid too and doesn’t want to lose him but revealing his childhood memories and pain he knows that it is Important for Reid to know his family. Alec loves Florrie with all his heart and tries to make her understand. Florrie lashes out at Alec and let’s her anger and hate rule her heart. She turns into a cruel, heartless woman and says horrific and humiliating things to Alec, even giving him a concussion. I was with Team Alec. Florrie’s anger and hate finally pushes him away and into the arms of another woman. From there things get worse and she can’t believe he would cheat on her. Giulia did a fantastic job on the storyline and I love her writing. It’s filled with so much emotion from passion, deception, trust issues, anger, heartbreak and fighting thru all the issues to find a happy ending. Plus she always throws in humor to help get through the difficult times. Love this author and recommend the entire series.

Florrie is a member of Reed Security Team 5. She's strong, independent, as tough as any of the men, and not a girly-girl. Alex is the Team 5 leader, and he's strong and protective, and Florrie is his weakness. They have temporary custody of Reid, a kid they found on the street who had a horribly abusive living situation with his stepfather. When his birth father's sister steps forward to ask for custody, it threatens the unconventional family that they've formed, and very nearly destroys Florrie and Alec's relationship. Now I understand the author's frustration and dislike of these two characters. In their first book, I didn't like Alec a whole lot. But this time, it's Florrie who pissed me off. I understand that Alec made decisions about Reid without talking to her first, but she took it out on him in spades, never letting up. Of course, he committed the ultimate betrayal of their relationship, although that was done after he finally left like she asked. And their issues very nearly destroy Reed Security, pitting friend against friend, sides chosen and weapons drawn. When they get along, the banter between the Reed Security guys is just hilarious, as always. The story sucked me in at the very beginning, and kept my interest throughout. It was an emotional roller coaster, a ride that I wasn't sure anyone would survive. On to Parker...

I honestly had no idea what was going to happen when I started reading this book, and to say that I was blown away is putting it mildly.
Florrie and Alec have been characters that I never really took the time to warm up to. I liked the interactions that they had with the other characters, but nothing really made them stand out. Until I started reading this book, then nothing could make me put it down.
Seeing the struggle that both of them went through in fighting for Reid made me cry like a baby. It was heartbreaking to see both characters essentially fight for the same thing but on opposite ends.
Alec's character comes across as someone who is guided by a strict moral compass and he won't bend his morals for anyone, which is admirable.
Florrie's character on the other hand is someone who reacts first and worries about the consequences later. She's too focused on her and her needs or pain that she forgets to put anyone else first.
This book was a true tear jerker but I absolutely loved it. The bits of comedic relief that the other characters bring in stops the book from being a complete cry fest.
As usual Giulia is outstanding in her work and she never fails to draw us in to the world of Reed Security
At first I wasnt sure who to side with, Alec was like a love sick puppy and Florrie was so aggressive towards Alec. They have custody of Reid and Reid has family that want him back, Florrie doesn't want to let him go, Alec only wants what's best for Reid, despite what it will do to his and Florries relationship. This causes all sorts of problems including half of Reed security siding with Florrie. After many arguments Alec meets a woman in a bar and tells her that he has split from Florrie, they have sex together and Florrie finds out. She leaves to go be by herself. She goes to see Jamie who tells her to go back to Alec. She does. They agree to go see D r Sunshine along with Craig (because Cap makes him go) to try to put their relationship back on track it takes a while but eventually they get back together. The usual things happen with the guys, Sinner thinks hes the new Gabe, not happening there is only one Gabe. Craig is well just Craig. Throughout this book I was more on Alecs side because I felt sorry for him.I really wanted to punch Florrie for the way she treated Alec, then I wanted to hit Alec for cheating on Florrie. But in the end I have now become Team Florec.

At the beginning of Nightingale, Giulia Lagomarsino stated that we would have to make the choice of #TEAMFLORRIE or #TEAMALEC, and I will state that I'm 100% #TEAMFLORRIE since Alec made the absolutely worst mistake out of the two of them, which turned me away from him from that moment on, and frankly, I never forgave him. I also got seriously pissed off at all those who tried to convince Florrie was the one who drove him to it (shaming the female for the male's super piss poor decisions is a complete turnoff so the blinders are off when it comes to some of these guys). Not to mention, for the first time ever in this series, I wanted to set fire to more than one of the Reed Security guys (not to mention giving one of the Reed Security series books less than 5 stars which broke my heart). So Florrie decided to try & work it out with him (please understand that I was against this decision because I expected more out of Alec) and HE GAVE HER AN ULTIMATUM! When did my girl lose her lady kahunas?! I can guarantee that I will NEVER like Alec again! Anyway, decide for yourselves by hitting those one click buttons because different strokes for different folks & all. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
I love this series and have read every book in it the moment I see a new one I have to have it so I may be a little biased when I say this is one of the best security company series around The guys and girls at Reed security are like family and like all families they have their ups and downs and they love to torment one another and this comes through in every story line This one is a little different in that we have met the couple involved before Alec and Florrie starred in the book Alec and this is a continuation of their story and in this case their drama will cause the entire Reed family to pick sides
Alec and Florrie are about to get married and intend to adopt Reid the fourteen year old they have been fostering ever since they rescued him from his step father a senator who intended to have him killed to garner the sympathy vote for himself. Things for the adoption are going well until his aunt and uncle from Utah decide that they want him. How Alec and Florrie want to handle this is on opposite ends of the spectrum and they clash over it causing members of Reed security to take sides and you as a reader will as well Will they get a HEA or will they destroy what they have You will have to read to see
This is kinda a continuation of Alec and Florrie's story. Alec has asked Florrie to marry him. She said yes, now we have a nee addition to the family. Here we have Reid their fourteen year old foster son in the mix. Reid had ran away when he overheard his stepfather planning to kill him for political gain. When he came to luve with Alec and Florrie the couples life seem to fall into place, children was wanted but Florrie is unable to conceive, so even though Reid is older he is loved and wanted, so much thay adoption was on the table. As in all The Reed Security books there is a rift in the dynamics. An Aunt and uncle has laid claim to Reid causing Florrie to lose her darn mind, she hss become mean and a total BI**H. Alec has an approach to handle the problem and so does Florrie. Their approach is different and Florrie won't budge. In fact she let it interfere with her love for Alec, he had proposed marriage and she had said yes, this was before the situation with Reid though. Read how the rest of the Reed Securities family put in their two cents and how a loving couple went from planning to walk down the isle to all out mutiny.

This series doesn’t get old! Nightingale is a continuation of Alec and Florries relationship from book 17 Alec. I really don’t want to spoil the story, but it’s truly an emotional one. After florries miscarriage and being told she can no longer have children in Alec, we find Alec and her happy, having become guardians to Reid a 14yr old boy, sadly their new family, and their Reed Security family is about to be split in two with consequences for all envolved.
It was a different change of pace in this story, focusing more on the teams emotional side, rather than their usual “blow everything up “ (thanks Maggie!) and one I enjoyed, although I did want to throat punch the pair of them at times. This is another story with will pull you in, emotional, yet some brilliantly funny moments (thank you Craig) and you won’t regret reading it. To still say this so far into a series is amazing, the story still feels fresh and exciting without rehashing the same old tales. Thank you Giulia Largomarsino.

Part of the massive Reed Security series, this is about teammates Alec & Florrie. We've met them before, and they've been outed as a couple & have custody of young Reid. I liked that we learned about Alec's history, which explains his own experiences, similar to Reid. Alec has already learned that his life is less rich without Florrie in it. I’m quite conflicted by this story. It's like I can see both sides of Alec & Florrie's issues-there are no sides to take, and I was cheering for them as a couple. I love stories where we watch characters slowly fall in love over time-this was the opposite. The small, slow death of a relationship was painful to watch. And of course, the author took her time in building the couple back better and stronger. A few light-hearted moments in the book, too. Love to revisit Alec & Florrie in future.

At the very beginning of the book, Giulia Lagomarsino let it be known each reader would need to decide if they were on one side or the other. In my mind, I thought, "Well, don't we do that anyway?" And then I read "Nightingale". There is no way to stay impartial! Ms. Lagomarsino has pulled out all the stops in this storyline and we have pure unadulterated emotion that follows all the twists and turns within the secrets, intrigue, and angst. Of course, we still get all the nosey members of Reed Security to have to input their two cents worth along with the comedy of their personalities. This was such a great read to me and I'm sorry to see it coming to an end. Perhaps if enough of us wish hard enough for a spinoff with the next generation so we can see where it goes from there. I'm especially interested to see where the best friends in this book go. Congratulations Giuliana on a job well done.
