Listen, in general I really like this series as a whole. A (3*) for me means it's okay.
I like Ariel and the guys.
But, just like after book 2 or 3 there is the same issues
-tooooo much inner dialogue. I get why inner dialogue is important, but in this series, it just becomes too much.
- too many filler moments or descriptions. For example there were just too many descriptions about how she was making lunch with Quinton as in " Later, I would put it away in the dishwasher with our plates and the rest of the dishes Quinton dirtied while cooking lunch for me". I mean the description of certain things in the book is unnecessarily long and just boring.
--pace of the actual story/series moving to slow- nothing really picked up until I was 45% into the book. Then, you had two chapters really where most of the action happened with her going to the council and then the guys getting her.
I do wonder how many books she has planned for the series, or if she just plans to drag on this series as long as she can since people love this series. I don't mind long RH series as long as each book is a true page-turner. But, for this series, I feel because of the issues I mentioned above I continue to skim the more boring parts.
I feel like book 1 and book 2 even where my favorites because they had the most going on chapter by chapter- which is why I liked the series.
To me one of the best RH series out there is The Veil Diaries- I mean they had a slow pace RH( I mean it's on book 8 now and they finally decided to do an RH relationship), but each book was a real page-turner and something bigger happened in each book you know. It wasn't just all sexy time lol. It has the right amount of internal dialogue and a great pace.
Again, I don't think the series is bad. It's just after book 3 things felt like they slowed down. What she did well was write the relationship between Ariel and the guys well. The guys are mostly all likable. I still will continue the series, because at this rate I already bought all the books lol

Book Six! Best in the Series
First off, the 4-star rating is for just this last book alone. Book 6 "Unforgotten Family" was REALLY good and hands down the best of the series so far. I'm definitely feeling the groove now of this series and eagerly awaiting book 7. Not sure if it will be a continuation or a conclusion but based on how good book six was I have major hope for the next in the series and I'm eagerly awaiting the release.
Book Six!
A few quick comments on why book six is so good and then comments below on the series overall.
By the time we get to book six you can see some real growth in the authors writing. There are still the same key areas of frustration that I had with the earlier books but the plot and the pacing were so darn good in this book that they were much less noticeable. Book six has some AWESOME moments for Ariel and her guys. Ariel in particular pulls off a couple amazing things in this story - at personal loss to herself. You can really see the emerging "warrior" by the end of the book. Her relationship development with some of the guys is also beautiful with some really touching and heartbreaking moments. I tell you, this book dragged out a few tears from me which is not my norm response but the writing was so intensely painful and then heartbreakingly beautiful in a few moments in this book. Kudos to you Mary for some serious emotional range in this story.
Series Overall
The rest of the series I would rate a 3 or 3.5. It definitely kept my interest, enough to keep picking up the next book, but the story was also frustrating in that it kept just missing the mark to go from okay to good or even GREAT! Below are details on what I see as the good and not so good of the series up to this point.
Good!
Strong FMC (Ariel)
I definitely prefer the fmc of my stories to be strong and capable. Even better is when she is a bad@$$ in her own right and can step in and carry her own weight and others at times. Ariel definitely fits that bill. She is overall a likeable character. She has a few "whiney" insecure moments in each book (more than I prefer) but I remind myself she is only 17 when the series starts and she has been seriously beaten down by life up to that point but she doesn't break. Throughout the series she has so many shining moments in her character, morals and care for her loved ones (as well as her growing bad*** powers :)) it overall skewed her into the likeable category for me.
Unique Heroes
Sometimes the heroes in the story can blend together a bit. That is definitely not happening here. I think because this series is so lengthy (six books plus three novellas to this point), and it's told in multiple points of view, we get enough time with each H to really learn their personality and background story that makes them unique and interesting. I will say that as of book six there are definitely seven guys in Ariel's harem and the potential for several more based on new characters we meet in the novellas and book six. I have no idea where her harem will cap out and usually I prefer for the heroes to be 3 (max of 4) guys, again, because this is so lengthy it seems like it's working okay so far and you don't feel like you don't get enough time to know each person in the group dynamic. I will add that Ariel's relationship is at different stages with each guy so there are some she is closer to and more drawn to. I was worried about this in the earlier books but can see now that the relationships are all starting to grow and it feels more natural with everyone by book six. BTW... a huge shoutout to Rain (Ariel's Dad) One of the best characters in this series. I've never ever said that about the "dad" character in a Romance read. He is so psychotic but in a good way. I want to wrap him up in a hug and join by his side for "the war" that is coming.
Not So Good
Whiplash Character Interactions
There were a few issues I have with this series that keeps it from entering into the "Great" category. One big one is the frequent "whiplash" in the character emotions and interactions. I say whiplash for a reason. It happens regularly in this series where two (or more) characters will be discussing something calmly, they seem to arrive at a mature understanding or plan and then out of nowhere blurt out something angry or hurtful and prance off from each other pouting. It's weird and jarring to watch the conversations going so normal (like normal mature adults would reason things out and talk) and then watch almost totally different personalities take over to interject a random thought or barb and then they disband from the conversation leaving it like that. Disjointed and jarring is the best phrasing I can come up with to describe many of the character interactions that take place.
Too much inner monologue
I have read many other reviews that warned about repetitive inner monologues and I see what they are referring to. I just saved myself the frustration and skipped over a lot of that and just focused on truly new scenes and the actual character dialogue. I might have missed out on some interesting stuff but I feel like I enjoyed the story more for skipping the repetitive stuff.
Not Enough Detail
Oddly enough, while I just listed above that sometimes the author was prone to lengthy descriptions and repetitive information, there were also times where she would make BIG jumps in the timeline and not describe what happened until much later (if ever), things that felt critical to the story development to me and therefore resulted in the story feeling underdeveloped at times and over developed at others. Clearly I can't have my bed be too big or too small or my porridge too hot or too cold. I need it just right. lol :)
Conclusion
This series is good, the characters are good and it is likely to keep your interest but will probably frustrate you with the lost potential at points. The three novellas and book six however were GREAT and therefore I'm firmly in the fan category overall and hopeful for a really good book seven!

The Ariel Kimber series has captured and kept my interest through the whole series. I have just recently found out there is more to this series, yes!!
There is so much to like in this series. The world itself, is an amazing one. The plot throughout the series, kept my interest and then some.
The Family itself is one that fought hard to get there, but man it was such a rewarding journey.
Ariel and her guys, I loved them as a unit. It is rare to find that you enjoy each and every guy, but here you do. Everyone of them captured my heart. I also loved each time Ariel gave to them, and it was fair.
I do not know which one in this series that I enjoyed the most, if it's the first, or this one. Mary has done a wonderful job of continuing this series and keeping it interesting. But then Mary knows what she is doing when it comes to writing great books. If you have not read this series yet, I would highly recommend it. Mary is easily in my top fave authors.

Great book as always, i only regret that i read this to fast cuz now i have to wait :((
I got annoyed with the whole things with what Dash and Tyson said to Ariel when they heard she would "leave" them, like after they got to know the truth, Ariel just brushed it off and i felt like they didn´t apologize enough for their harsh words even if i understand why they did. I just feel like they didn´t even trust their "brothers" or Ariel before they jumped to conclusions

If you didn’t read the novellas, you may be confused
At least I was. I do not know the full story behind Isobel and Baxter. I’m assuming they are brought into the story during Rains novella but I could be wrong.
When I first started this book I was very confused. So I went back and reread the series. I was still confused. The book does give enough information for you to guess at what’s happened but absolutely no detail behind the events. So then I went back and read Dash’s novella thinking that may have the missing storyline. Nope. That book also features Isobel and Baxter and still only hinted at their origin. So that leaves Tyson’s and Rains novellas. I’m assuming they show up in Rains novella but I could be wrong.
All in all I still enjoyed it, but I don’t particularly like when I have to read novellas on the side to be able to fill in character backstory and get their introductions. Especially when the main books are numbered in a way that leads you to believe you don’t have to read the novellas. I hadn’t planned on reading the novellas when I kept seeing reviews that indicate they don’t move the story along and instead just show different perspectives and relationships amongst the coven.
All of that to say that Isobel and Baxter aren’t main characters in this story anyways. So even though I didn’t know who they were or how they came to be, I was able to roll with it. I’ll still keep reading the series for now but if the novellas become a “must read” for the storyline I’ll probably stop.

6stars Amazing. Ariel and Quinton stand out but there is EVERYTHING
6 stars.... literally all the stars. I loved unforgotten family. I love this coven family of characters so much they are all so well written I have never loved every guy in a book this much. All the characters are so well done so fleshed-out I love when they each get time/scenes with Ariel I love reading those encounters and about each relationship. This book I really loved Quentin and Ariels relationship I feel like it's always going to have a certain Dynamic and I love the dynamic but it's come really far and they are at the point where you always wanted them to be where they're still themselves but they're learning too be themselves in their funny Dynamic of a relationship and they are being a team which I love I really love Quinton in this book and I love Quinton and Ariel together in this book and Ariel and Quinton fans definitely want to see. I love how the relationship is shown throughout this book and I really love Julian being in on something. I love Damon surprising me. I love getting any that at the salt and pepper Twins and their some fun stuff in there with them. We get our Tyson time and I love this best friend boyfriend role of his in that dynamic. And Dash I don't want to spoil too much but the plot revolves around something that involves – and that's all I will say. I would say the pace and plot of this book is a little faster something big happens Ariel Can't Stand By and she can't tell everybody so it put some relationships to the test Ariel makes move involving the council big moves she puts a plan in place and makes it happen it's a very good story throughout we of course get Rain being Rain craziness with the council some surprises and more of Arielle being in this big family with everyone mentioned and now her now her bodyguards Isobel and Baxter. Is more I want to say about that but again don't want to spoil anything but interesting in the end to see where that goes. I wouldn't call it a cliffhanger at all I would say the book is finished off nicely but leaves you of course wanting more because I feel like you could read about the interactions between these characters doing anything but there's still lots to do with the council and with Ariel's position and what's to come and what's going to go on with some other characters. I really love the novellas because it gives us a chance to hear from the guys and learn more about them and then have time with Ariel and there's not a huge event going on although they do have that as well I just mean I'm very happy to have the novellas and the books I feel like it's such a great balance because there's so much to get from these characters there's so much story but these characters are so well developed that like I said reading any interaction between them it's so interesting to see their Dynamics and their relationships whether it's between Ariel and the guys all of them some of them or even the guys with each other I love reading about the Dynamics of this coming of this family and this book has it was just amazing throughout it was completely satisfying and gave me everything I wanted interactions a plot where a lot of things happened an event in the relationship that I think you'll come out stronger with and kind of putting to bed a certain characters actions that have been affecting all of them unfortunately and I really love the satisfaction in the conclusions but how ariel is strong and does what she does but she's also human well which human and it affects her because the council is crazy and I love that that is shown get rid of one more things pop up but like I said this book was just so well-written and so so much happened and I just love the way everything was handled and I just want more so much more like I want all the things I want more novels and novellas for years to come I really hope thank you Mary Martel for bringing this world to us this is one of those series that's unlike anything else because the way the characters are written I seriously could read about them doing anything I can't get enough of their interactions and the story was so compelling with its plot on top of that I highly suggest this book it had a bit of what everyone wants for sure and I think people will enjoy the pacing. It left me completely satisfied yet wanting more because this world is amazing and I just want to read about it but time and I just want to read about the characters over and over and that's something that's amazing about the series ❤ and why its favorite. I am loving seeing this book progression, things are finally moving quicker and more forcefully in terms of the plot and the direction the author is going. I was sucked in by the different side plots/tangents and the side characters as well. This book had something for everyone!
Won't give spoilers away, but love the inclusion of the other coven and meeting their members (I assume they will be a bigger part of Isobel's stories so I am excited especially with their dynamics in this one). I loved Baxter's short moment, made me giggle so hard (fell more for this kid after Dash's novella!). The vileness of the Council was very apparent in this one, blatant that no one could argue. It was good to see them for what they truly are. I don't know how Ariel can get over what she had to experience and I will leave it at that! I will say I was disappointed with her guys and I wish she made them stew a little bit longer. She was so hurt before and vowed to not let them off the hook once they found out the truth but alas, wasn't the case.
I thought the newest person Ariel was seeing in her dreams was amazingly done. Like the storyline for them was great and I freaked out while driving home once I realized who it was. Squealed from happiness hahaha. I appreciated some of the guys stepping up more, loved seeing some of them have domineering sides, and don't even get me started on the 🔥🔥🔥 M/M moments, like I NEED MORE, it was so yummy and tasteful haha. I will say her and Quinton have an interesting relationship, like I knew that going in and its been building with each book. But in this one in particular they were mostly annoyed/at each other's throats for 80% of the book. So much yelling and growling and being mad at each other. Just felt like a little too much, wasn't as balanced as the others and it took me out of the story when I noticed at a couple phrases that Quinton used a bunch. Overall 5 stars for the story ❤️
The narration was the best I think of the series so far. The emotions Ariel and the guys go through. The disgust we felt and experienced for Marcus. The way the new character was done when Ariel met them was superb, the way she did the breathing and pain and everything. So good, made those scene even better/enhanced the experience. Even the newcomers at the end with their reactions and Quinton made me laugh and excited for future books. I hope the next full book comes out on audio soon, I just get through them faster than reading.

OMG this book. Intense and full of twists but also with a delicious dish of hot lovin!!
If you are a fan of this series, you are going to be holding your breath like I did for huge chunks in this book.
There is so much to discuss. The biggest part is the family we are learning about. The aspect of family is so weaved in this book. The coven family, the ragtag add on family we have fallen for, Mr. Cole, and lord help us…the Council. There is bile in my throat and when you read you will understand why.
I am really excited to read more Raven and see him helping out our family when they are in need twice in this book.
But friends, this book…..man the bonds of Ariel and her boyfriends are really really realllllly stretched and almost break in this book. I was devastated and so will you be. Can I just say, I loved seeing Jules and Damien shine in this book. I also loved seeing their “coupledom” shine. Can I also say that I loved seeing Quinton realize sometimes your family can help take care of everyone and he doesn’t have to take that all on his shoulders. Can I say, the twins……omfg…ya’ll. Can I say Tyson is the best bestie you can have but also needed a nut punch. Can I say Mr. Cole is not my friend anymore. Can I say…..this book Ariel and her boys drew deep gouges and lines in the sand for the Council. I kinda fear for the next book after the way Adrian left things with Ariel!!!!

I received a copy of this book for an honest review.
I had so many emotions going on inside while I was reading this book. Talk about one heck of a rollercoaster ride. There was so much love and hate going through my heart throughout this book. I love the boys but there was a time they needed to take a step back and trust what Ariel was doing. They should know while she does put herself in danger it is usually done out of love and for them. The boys tend to forget that as they feel they are the ones that need to protect Ariel.
I was so sad when some showed their true colors and I like Ariel do not thing I can come back from that nor will they ever be seen is a good light. Ariel went through some tough times and is able to get back up but this wow I’m not sure this will ever be something she can get over. I’m afraid it will have some serious consequences but no one could have expected that. Trust me when you read about it you will understand. Ariel has a big heart and seeing what she saw will be hard to get past but I’m sure the guys will do their best to get her through it.
I have to say I so enjoy seeing Ariel’s bond with her men grow. There were so many wonderful scenes between her and the guys. Loved getting to see more of the twins, Damien and Jullian. Even enjoyed seeing a bit more of Trenton and Simon their faithfulness to Ariel warms my heart.
I love seeing Ariel’s family grow. What started as just her has grown into her coven, Rain, Trenton and Simon, Baxter, and Isobel. Her family just keeps on growing and I love this for her. They also find an ally in Raven. I’m on pins and needles waiting to see what big thing is going to happen with Ariel and her growing family.

Best book In this series!!!! Read it!
There’s nothing for me to say other than that this book was the very best book in this series, in my humble opinion!!! I loved it so much that I’m excited to reread it all over again to catch every single detail. It’s nothing but the truth; this series really does get better with each new book out and I’m already highly anticipating the next book in this series to come out and I honestly never want this series to end!!! Ariel, her guys, her friends, and her family are so worth reading about, and I love them to pieces. Every single one of them. Reading this book and this series makes me happy and that is all I can really hope for in a book. Ariel and her family are changing and there’s a war brewing in their future, but I just know that the way it comes about and the outcome is going to be truly epic. This series is in my top 3 favorite reverse harem series out there and I’ve read a lot of them! Mary Martel’s work never lets me down. I highly recommend this book and series to all reverse harem and supernatural, witchy fans! I hope you’ll love it as much as I do!

Ariel, Ariel, Ariel – girl we need to have a chat! First, you need to tone done on all that inner dialogue, talk to the fellas and your dad – that is what family is for. Second, your dream walking is getting you into some serious stuff. Not sure how your family is going to take the news of this secret and you leaving (if only for a short time). My blood pressure was going through the roof just reading this darn story.
I am happy to see that Ariel is starting to show some growth and maturity in book 6. The coven is growing tighter and tighter everyday – but Ariel is about to unravel that! Between Julian, Quinten and Ariel, they are about the shake the whole coven up with lies and secrets. Relationships will be tested and need to be trusted. Hang on peeps….Ariel is going in!
SPOILER: Glad that Annabell is now out of their lives for good. However, the way she was taken out was crazy…like Council Crazy! Those Council Members are certifiable! They need to be dealt with once and for all.

Oh wow wow Mary really took us there. Ok so Ariel and Dash have now offically moved into the big house with their own space but still under the same roof, and all the guys are loving having her there. A lot of steamy thing happen in this book which makes the slow burning totally worth it, Tyson finally gets him some and we find out that sexy uncle Quinton has a piece of jewelry in the perfect spot. Ariel also does a few thing that really pisses her men off but with Quinton on her side she knows that it will all work out in the end or so she hopes so because this one plan of her might never be able to have them forgive her and it just might tear them from her forever. Everything she had gone though Ariel does it for the people she loves and this mission is no exception.

I'm so confused!?!?!! And I love it.
So honestly I don't know if it was just me with this book but some of it confused me. Here's the thing though. I loved it. I love reading a book and at the end really wondering what's gonna happen. I have a guess but its just that its a guess. This went leaps and bounds with the character development and storyline and holy major shocks throughout the book. Follow Ariel and her crazy men into a world much like ours but not this book series has it all romance crazy take down plots crazy world domination plans too. And great family bonds. I couldn't ask for more.

Gah, my heart wasn’t ready after reading Dash’s book. We pick up where the novella left off, Ariel has a surprise visitor of the epic jerkisn proportions. Which starts the downward spiral of ariels relatively calm and collected life. The council is being nine too subtle, and if the group is gonna survive their crazy, they need to trust Ariel. Which is easier said than done. My heart screamed for joy and then bled with pain, Mary Martel is a master at that though. Just when we think everything will work out, Quinton interrupts it... no wait, that was the twin sandwich. I want a salt and pepper sammich dang it! Another perfect Brothers of the flame book. Now I pace while waiting for the next.

Brilliant as always
I read this in one sitting, it was that good. Without spoilers, the end is brilliant and, whilst it doesn't end on a cliff hanger, I can't wait for the next one so I can find out what was in the bag. It's not a stand alone, but part of a series, you would be able to follow it without first reading the other books, but it would lose a lot by doing so. Well written, even minor characters are fleshed out as individuals, so much so that you want to know more about them too (I'm hoping for spin-off stories). So glad I bought this book, it was well worth the investment.

You escape into this and settle in needing to see where this will go now. This author is sneaky it is the calm before the storm. Once it rains it pours as the saying goes so Ariel will demonstrate it in here. I should say by events it will be demonstrated. Of course life is usually for real and is not peaches and cream all the time so we would not want it in here. The drama is close to having us pull our hair out. Of course the ride in life has some hair bends and pin curls with twists so why not this eh? The author has given us yet again superb with patience not my virtue.

And I'll gladly follow with a smile on my face. I'm talking total book hang over. Can you OD on a good book. Mrs.Mary has grabbed my attention from the very first flame brothers book, and this one did not disappoint. I love each of the flame brothers. Uncle Q will always have my heart. After this book I'm pretty sure he can claim my heart and soul now. Ariel will do anything for het coven, and she's about to prove it. After is the real test will her coven still love her. I cant wait for the next story in this series.

This book along with the series is absolutely amazing! Didn't think this series could get any better but it just did.
I love Ariel she has such a big heart even after everything she is been through, the guys need to trust her more though!
I absolutely hate the council and i really hope they get their comeuppance.

Best yet!
I love the Ariel Kimber series and this is the best yet! The bonds of family are tested in this book and Ariel risks a lot to rescue another person tied to her coven that has and still is suffering greatly at the hands of the Council. But this time, she has recruited the big guns to assist and Quinton won't let his family fall apart.

Gloriousness!!! This world, man! I absolutely love it! It just keeps getting better and better. Each new book more exciting and hotter than the last. Major progression on the sexy times here, except for my poor Salt and Pepper Twins. 😂 Ariel’s coven family just keeps getting bigger and bigger. AND we get our first big showdown with the Council. And that cover? Gorgeous! Already ready for the next one! 💜

I think I can confidently say that this book is my favorite in the series now.. I absolutely adore Ariel as a character. Through out this book and series she always stays true to herself and is unapologetic about it, I love that. Her growth as an individual and a woman that has to navigate so many relationships is really a joy to read. I love all of her coven but dang uncle Q.. I just love him. Really looking forward to the next book, as always.

Mary Martel once again brings Ariel Kimber’s story to life! I have absolutely loved this series from the beginning and this book is no exception!!! I have loved watching the characters grow and become more as a unit as well as a family. I can’t wait for the next book in this series!
This is an RH series, meaning that the main character will be with 3 or more people. It is also based on the occult (witches, spells, and violence.)

I understand Ariel is a teenager, however, considering all she and her family have gone through I would have expected by book 6.2 that she would be somewhat more mature. Also, the relationship between her and the guys (except Quint) at this point feels shallow. The author writes the male characters in such a way I keep coming back, but Ariel...yeesh.

Sooooo good!!!
I love this series and this book is a great addition to the already fantastic story unfolding. While i didn't agree with how the guys reacted to Ariel (no spoilers) I was truly enraptured with this book and cannot wait for the next one! Love this series
This is honestly my favorite series. I love Ariel and her guys and I'm looking forward to reading more and seeing where this goes. I also can't wait to see more of Trenton and Simon. I'm not gonna go into alot of detail on this book in particular but if for some reason your reading this review and have not started with book one you seriously should go read it. I've not read one book from this author that I did not love.

Stayed up till 5:50am because i had to finish this in one sitting. As usual, i love the guys, love Ariel, and the series is really picking up now irt the progress in their relationship, and important lessons on trust being learned. Pleeaase let the next release be an Ariel book and not a side story! Fingers crossed.

I Freaking Love this series soooooo much!
Ariel and all her guys are some my absolute favourite characters to read, I love going back and rereading them.
Unforgotten Family is everything! I loved it right from page 1 until the very end. The story is engaging, angsty and so full of heart. Such a rollercoaster of emotions.
I am so damn excited to see what happens with Ariel and her guys.
Ariel and all her guys are some my absolute favourite characters to read, I love going back and rereading them.
Unforgotten Family is everything! I loved it right from page 1 until the very end. The story is engaging, angsty and so full of heart. Such a rollercoaster of emotions.
