My sire is lost to me. I don't see how I can forgive him for what he has done. Not this time.
But my father has him. It is my duty to rescue him, and then never speak to him again. Once there, I decide to give my father a chance to be a part of my family, but I am unhappy that my only ally is a ghost I can't trust. Or can I?
As I am away, my boys struggle to find their way without me as a buffer, and you can finally see what drives them to do the things that they do. What secrets will be revealed in my absence?
Eve is a USA Today Bestselling Author with a specialty for steamy romance with strong female leads.
She lives in the UK, with her husband and five kids, so finding the time to write is short, but definitely sweet. Eve has a number of series, both completed and on the go and hopes to release some new and exciting projects, both paranormal and contemporary in the future, so stay tuned!
OMG!! This was by far and away the best one yet! Getting into everyone's heads saw some shocking secrets unfold. I don't know how to last until Book 9 comes out.
I didn’t enjoy this one quite as much as the other books in the series but it was still crazy addictive & an amazing read. I don’t think it was the change to writing with multiple points of view because I really enjoyed getting some juicy tidbits from the other characters. Devon was particularly interesting & I think Cole annoys me even more now. Having said that though it did seem that the story didn’t really progress at the same pace in the chapters that were not from Liv so it felt a little slower in pace & less crazy than the other books where something seems to be happening & changing every two pages. I personally feel CK didn’t get punished nearly enough for his actions in the last book but I’m ashamed to say I am softening to him, I just can’t help it. The scene with Alefric was just horrible. I really feel for Liv, it’s feels like she’s approaching breaking point & I hope she puts her foot down & stops taking any shit.
Eve Newton has created a fantastic world; a world of intrigue, deceit, sabotage, and power. I like this series because it brings out such strong opinions about the characters and the situations they find themselves in. I am frequently swearing at them to buck up their ideas but alas I’m not the author and they tend not to do the decent thing.
Liv is involved with multiple men vying for attention and they aren’t above manipulating situations to get more attention from her.
Liv is frequently abused and hurt but she forgives those she loves too easily when they inevitably hurt her. If I had her powers I would be delving out some of my own punishment. She is destined to bring change to their world but as she continues to lie, manipulate and omit details to her guys she tends to full prey to machinations that have been planned for millennia.
My pet peeve for the series is the spelling and grammar mistakes.
While I appreciate the different perspectives in this book, the excessive pronouns made it hard to follow (e.g., he knew he didn't want him to go with her). Definitely not my favorite book in the series.
AMAZING!!! Eva you have done it again! I love how we are able to get in the mind of the other characters. Wow that ending. It will be interesting to see how CK will take the news of yet another someone that will need time with Liv. There was not a dull moment in the book. Eva always keeps us entertain and anticipating what will happen next. I'm on my way to read book 9 and from the reviews, it's even better!! Can't wait.
Perfect. The books in this series just keep getting better aand better which is difficult because each book has been a fantastic read. Newton is a creative genius in my eyes. I truly hope in book 9 Betrayal Aefre slaughters Jess with her queen power in front of everyone especially Devon. Thanks for a wonderful read as usual Ms. Newton :)
So glad we get to see the other characters thoughts in this one. I hope the rest of the series carries on with this format. Sad now I have to wait for no. 9 :-(
