Cassie and Violet's adventures continue in this eighth book of the Cassie Coburn Mysteries! When a body is found in the Thames, will they be able to identify the victim and bring the killer to justice?
Samantha Silver lives in British Columbia, Canada, along with her husband and seventeen-year-old dog named Terra.
When she's not writing cozy mysteries, Samantha loves travelling (she's most recently been to Egypt, Jordan and Florida) skiing, eating Dairy Queen, and complaining about how hard running is.
I LOVE this series. For some reason, my review was WRONGLY showing as a 1 star. I would never give another author a 1 star. I have NO idea how this happened. Plus this is one of my favourite series. I'd give it 10 stars if i could! Great series.
Love the Cassie Coburn/Violet Despuis mysteries. When a May-December marriage ends with the wealthy older wife, Anita, floating in the Thames, everyone thinks it’s the smarmy younger husband. But CC footage seems to give him an alibi. So who would murder an old lady who was already dying? Violet combines the smarts of Poirot w/ the observational powers of Sherlock. Cassie is her American Watson. Between the two, no murderer is safe, no matter how clever they think they are.
This should be valued down to 3.5, but I really like the author and the series. There is much to like in the Cassie Coburn series about a woman with a medical degree who did not become the professional she dreamed of for years, and her friend with a supremely intelligent, and cool-minded ability to analyze problems-who works on solving mysteries in the British police department- sometimes without police approval... The series is a winner and this was a good one- not my favorite though...
I absolutely adore this series. No man drama. There's no "amateur sleuth needs to be rescued by a man" type of climax either. Violet and Cassie do very well, and they do it their way. This book was a bit shorter than the others in the series and I really did miss the extra 50 pages though. I can't wait for book 9.
