Murder isn’t the only thing suspect on Madson Court. Detective Griesel investigates the web of lies concocted by neighbors to keep secrets safely hidden within the suburbs. Andrew Griesel’s career as a homicide detective ran him through the gambit of murderers and victims alike. After a man is found dead in a suburban neighborhood, the detective is thrust into a case with a witness checklist a page long, and a suspect catalog that matches. Each neighbor has a story to tell. Piece by piece, the detective and his crew combine what they’re told by the possible suspects with what they know to be true. In the end, everyone has a secret to hide. Does the evidence point to the murderer, or is there something much more sinister afoot on this once typical neighborhood street?
Rachel Renee, born and raised in and around Cincinnati, Ohio, finds herself residing with her family in the suburb of Loveland. After completing a degree in psychology and racking up thousands of dollars in debt, she decided to become a stay at home mom and homeschool her children, all the while working on her writing career. While she is not using her degree in the secular world she uses it on a daily basis, psychoanalyzing her husband of nearly 20 years and two children (15 and 12), her 2 dogs, and her life as a writer and teacher. Just like Rachel enjoys reading books from many different genres, she also enjoys writing different genres as well. Stay tuned as Rachel continues her journey!
This is a classic who dun it, but it is so much more. I love a good mystery/thriller and this one definitely did not disappoint. The murder takes place in a neighborhood and because the victim antagonized everyone in it, there are plenty of suspects to weed through. I loved the detectives - they were such dynamic characters and very interesting. Each time one of them talked to someone, different things came to light. So many secrets and strange happenings and it's all coming out because of a murder. I will say even though I thought I might know who it was, in this case I was very wrong. I still would not have seen it. This book kept me turning the pages and reading it in one sitting as it was just that good. Rachel Renee has become a favorite author of mine. I believe this is the 4th book of hers I've read, and I have been super happy I chose each one, and this one is no different. I am already looking forward to my next read by Rachel Renee.
Madson Court starts off at a breathtaking pace, and stays intriguing until the very last page. It’s a wicked game of whodunnit with an ending you’ll never see coming!
WTF?! Did I Just Read?!? THE MADSON COURT MURDER BY Rachel Renee BLEW ME AWAY!! Right from the Very Beginning of the Book and never a Dull moment page after page since I Could NOT PUT IT DOWN. Just when you Think you had Figured it Out....BOOM!! More information thrown in to a murder in a neighborhood to keep you guessing to the Very end...Which I DID NOT SEE COMING!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I enjoyed reading this book. More information would have been nice. Was the young mother really having an affair with the tech guy? Was the tech guy lying? Why did the one guy hide out? What happened to Me. Jackson. Where did Trevor get all his information?
Wow!!! Is all I can say. What an amazing read. I never saw it coming. Rachel Renee did an Amazing job writing this book. She held the readers attention from page 1 right till the end. Trevor, a young man who suffered from mental illness. A neighborhood that was sick of his antics. Trevor laid in the street, shot. Neighbours standing around him. Grissel, the lead detective on the case questioning the residents of Madson court in hopes of solving the case fast. After day’s of questioning the neighborhood, Grissel found his murder. You’ll never guess who......
Me speed reading because I was supposed to leave for work 25 minutes ago but I MUST FIND OUT WHO KILLED TREVOR. For me, it is a race against time AND battery. I've got this, I can do it.
DING DONG: Fahhhhhhhkkkkkkkkkkk, The electrician is here a day early AND I'm late for work.
11:09 PM THE END!!! After a super long day, finally able to finish. Very satisfied!!!
I absolutely recommend this story if you like fast paced, not obvious who the killer is , quick read.
This is a classic case of "who dunnit?" You have a guy who was clearly off his meds, watching and tormenting the neighborhood and turns up dead.. The detectives in charge of this case have their hands full with this. There's lots of sectrets in this neighborhood and I don't think we heard all of them quite yet. Everyone had motive. This book keeps you hooked until the very end. It was a great murder mystery book!
The Madson Court Murder by Rachel Renee is a murder mystery story that will keep you guessing about who murdered Trevor Jackson in this suburban neighborhood. Everyone on Madson Court has a motive, but who fired the deadly shots?
I enjoyed reading this story because the plot and the characters are well developed. Every character has at least some reason to be a suspect. They all seem to be hiding something. This book will keep you turning pages to the end.
I received a copy of this book from Quirky Blind Date with an Author and I always review every book that I read. This is a great read. Enjoy.
A murder most fowl has taken place on Madson Court, all who live there stand and stare at the dead man in the middle of the street! Rachel Renee’s book “The Madson Court Murder” will pull the reader into a ‘classic who done it’ the second they open the novel!
Local detectives have one body and many suspects while trying to figure out how the crime was accomplished. Searching the streets, woods, and talking to the people who live on the street where the crime took place bring up more questions than answers. What have the detectives missed? And why did someone try to run over the lead sleuth with their car!? It may not be what you think dear reader!
Renee has the wonderful writing ability to create a mystery that harkens back to classic detective novels. She slowly peels away the mystery so the reader does not know the answers to the puzzle till the very end. Renee takes the time to add in character development to each individual she crated. This leaves the reader with the sense of knowing why each person might have done in the victim but the true answer is carefully and cleverly concealed!
Is mystery your thing? Then put on your detective caps because the games afoot within the pages of this marvelous book!
I love a good who dun it especially one where you keep changing you mind in regards to who the killer is and this one ticks those boxes, there are more potential killers than not due to how the victim Trevor treated those around him. Poor detective Griesel along with officers Franklin and Calhoun have their work cut out for them as they try to get answers from everyone living in the cul-de-sac who appear to have more secrets, motives and twists than they know what to do with. The characters draw you in and the mystery and needing to know who the killer is has you turning the page and when it is finally revealed who the killer is well ..... you will have to read it to find out just like I did!!
We know that in the quiet cul-de-sac there is almost more going on than you can see. That was exactly the case on Madison Court. However, when the murder of the neighbor terror, Trevor, happened, all the neighbors stuck together. As the story played out, each one had reason to pull the trigger. Trevor did have issues and his parents tried to protect him the best they could.
Rachel did an awesome job with all the twists and turns in the story. I can usually figure out who did it. I didn’t figure it out until Rachel opened that door. Kudos. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to more from Rachel!
A man who has roamed the neighbor hood is dead. As the detectives search for clues so many more questions come up. As more and more motives are uncovered will there be an answer for the murder. This was a good read in that it kept you guessing. Just when one person you suspect, there is another one in the next chapter. Twists, turns, suspense and secrets will keep you turning the pages.
The Madson Court Murder is an intriguing murder mystery. It had me guessing who the murderer was because everyone had a reason to murder the victim. I did suspect the murderer (but I usually do). This book follows a lead detective and his 2 partners as they unravel the incident that took place on Madson Court. This place is a little “Peyton Place” (that dates me lol) and everyone has secrets and a motive for killing a man who terrorized the streets in his neighborhood. I love a good who-done-it and this was one!
A book filled with intrigue, suspense and anticipation as you try to figure out which neighbor is the culprit. I loved the characters and their quirks and I truly was not expecting the murderer to be who it was... a great summer read.
A disturbed man wrecks havoc on a neighborhood filled with secrets. His murder takes you on a whirlwind of journeys to try to decipher who did it and there are no short lists. Some tales could have played out more. I think it would have given more depth to his character but I still enjoyed the unraveling of this mystery and who actually did it.
A "who done it" police procedural story. Main characters were nicely developed. The story line had some slow spots but over all kept moving. Plenty of twists and turns in the wrap up solving the murder. Story didn't quite seem like it finished, there was a confession and then it's the end, what happened after the confession?
When everyone in a quiet neighborhood becomes a suspect for murder. Everyone is hiding something. All are guilty of something. But who actually killed the victim and why? There are many twists and turns that kept me guessing until the end. I was surprised in the end who had actually committed the murder! This was a fun page turner!
The Madison Court Murder by Rachel Renee is the first book I have read from this author and I look forward to reading more of her books. This was an intriguing murder mystery that has lots of twist and turns that keep you guessing right up to the very end. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.
Good Read. Lots of twists and turns. Plenty of suspects. Good book flow. Very specific on procedures of an investigation. Police are well rounded characters. Some of the suspects are undefined but over all a book worth reading.
Wow, what a great story of twists, turns, mystery, suspense and drama that will keep you on the edge of your seat and reading from start to finish without stopping. So many characters that look guilty you will be constantly changing your mind about who you think it is. Enjoyable read!!
This was a crazy read. Someone ends up murdered on Masson Court and this story takes you on a crazy adventure with so many people that could have a motive. Was kinda shocked at the end.
This book had so many twists and turns, that you were left questioning every single thing after each chapter. You never would have guessed who the murderer was and it shocked me! Although the book was super confusing and slow to lead up to the murderer, it was an overall decent read.
This has to be one of the worst books that I have EVER read.
First of all, the pacing was extremely slow. So slow that a 265 page book (which, if good, I could easily devour in a day or two) took me 5 days to read. Granted, I realized this is a whodunit, police procedural, but it was also REALLY boring. So the slowness of the book coupled with the boringness of the book, made it literal torture to get through.
Second, I have read SO many psychological thrillers and whodunit murder books. Never in my life have I been able to guess so easily the killer. I may not have known why, but I definitely knew from very early on who the killer was, and all the neighbors that looked “good” for the murder, to me, was pointless and terribly written.
Third, for a Dectective to have been on the force for SO many years not to consider someone a suspect is beyond me; the reason that the suspect isn’t considered is also laughable. Trevor was killed by three gunshot wounds. NOT EVERYONE REGISTERS GUNS! While that may be illegal, it also happens ALL the time. So for me, this part of the story line was so farfetched!!!!!
Don’t waste your time reading this book; I’m sorry I wasted mine.
