When your Italian boss is keeping secrets from you, don't assume he has your best interest at heart.

A cattle rancher's daughter, Loriel can't wait to turn a few heads and impress her skeptical father at the same time. And as financial manager to Shellbrook, a monster oil company in the heart of Los Angeles, it's the perfect place to start.

Overhearing an argument between her boss and his nephew, Givanni, the CEO at Shellbrook, Loriel wonders just what is hiding behind those Italian eyes and priceless suits.

After a near miss on the freeway and an unexplained break-in to her apartment, Loriel is wide awake to the fact that Givanni might be involved in something deeper than she'd ever imagined. Her curiosity on fire, she hasn't ruled out the fear that he could be her enemy.

When they wind up in Italy together to attend his sister's wedding under the facade of a fake engagement, Loriel can't help but fall for him one glance at a time. His mysterious past and dismal future aren't enough to break whatever force seems to draw her closer.

So, so conflicted on this one! I liked so many of the elements so much, had a few pieces that threw me off a bit, but then there was one thing that was such a small element but it bugged me really, really bad. Like seriously-pull-my-rating-down bad. So...yeah.

Let's start with what I liked. Loriel, all the way! Especially the way she stayed so sweet and true to herself through all the extreme circumstances she went through. She was an awesome mix of spunky and sweet, inquisitive and trusting. I really, really loved her. Givanni--even though he confused me at times, I still found myself trusting him the way Loriel did and really wanting him to open up and let her (and me) in. He was so caring and protective and yet obviously carrying some heavy burdens, and...I pretty much just wanted to hug him. Max--great best friend! Absolutely perfect. What more can I say? Loriel's dad--I just loved him so much!!! :D Givanni's family--No. Words. Absolutely none. I just can't even.

What I didn't like so much. The plot felt kind of--I'm not sure if incoherent is the right word. Confusing, not fully explained, like I couldn't fully put the pieces together. There were a couple of incidents that didn't seem to tie in with the rest of it. (Like the tunnel bit--how was that related?) It almost made me think of an early draft where you think you know who the bad guy is and what they're after, but then you get a better idea but forget to go and make the earlier part tie in. I'm not claiming that's what happened, but I just couldn't make all the dots connect. There were also some inconsistencies in timing, like Loriel finishing breakfast and settling down to watch a movie, then waking up in the middle of the night with the TV still on, or Givanni trying to hide the serious bruising on his back from his family--and then going swimming shirtless two days later with apparently no sign of the bruises? Anyway...

Here's the thing, though. All the confusingness surrounding the mystery was stuff I could pretty much wave away and shrug off because of the awesomeness of the characters, but then we come to what just about wrecked the book for me. Why, why, why, when a guy shows up to a family wedding with a surprise girlfriend (they weren't; it was a cover) does the family (who lives in a huge house, by the way) give them A BEDROOM WITH A SINGLE BED?!? I'll do them the justice to say there was never even a hint of the idea of both of them using it (which would have made me DNF), but the whole scenario just felt so wrong. That's something you have to work around when you're pretending to be a married couple, not a plus-one for a wedding. And after Loriel's at least relative modesty when it came to having a guy dealing with her underthings (when cleaning up after a break-in or buying her clothes for a last-minute getaway) or to a particularly skimpy swimsuit (which she refused to wear), the fact that no one even mentioned that this was incredibly awkward or even thought the arrangement was worth commenting on?!? Just--the fact that this was treated as a completely normal assumption/arrangement really, really grated. I know, my reaction to this one point where literally nothing happened is seriously out of proportion to its importance in the story, but--that's a big deal for me. Seriously. And I can't get around it affecting my rating.

So, without that one element, I would lean toward at least 3.5 stars on the strength of the lovable characters alone, but with it, I can't. I don't like to give it just an "okay" rating, but I just can't justify rating it higher. :(

Content--violence, including gunplay; murder threatened and attempted; kidnapping, break-ins, etc.; mentions of blood, wounds, bruises, etc. (not graphic); some embarrassing moments and potentially compromising situations (see above); mentions of guys shirtless and girls in revealing swimsuits; kissing and touching (not overly descriptive); mentions of drinking and people being affected by it

Ella has recently graduated college and started working at Shellbrook. After work one night her company car won’t start so her boss offers her his car to take home and it starts a chain of events that’s she’s not sure she wants to be apart of. But when Givanni seems to be coming to her rescue she finds herself trusting him more than maybe she should. She can’t help but get caught up in helping him at all cost even if her heart gets broken in the meantime.

This was the first story by Rimmy London that I’ve read. I found myself a bit confused a few times but overall I loved this story and can’t wait to read Too Deep and more from this author. 🖤🖤

Enjoyable romantic suspense

Loved the deep point of view, characters, and emotion. Fun settings too. Sometimes clarity was sacrificed in favor of the deep point of view and over-telling. In a few instances, the build up didn’t deliver the plot event expectations but the romantic tension trumped that. A fun read overall.

I usually read only Happily-Ever-After stories. And this one was very different. I quickly got caught up in the story. There were a lot of twist and turns and unexpected events which I all enjoyed. I highly recommend Rimmy London's books. This was a great story. I am looking forward to reading more.

A winner!

I received this book for free under no obligation to review it. I thoroughly enjoyed the unique storyline. Of course it’s unbelievable at times, but I couldn’t stop reading it. I loved the Italian family members and wished they were real. They were the best part of the story. I hope they show up in future books! I’ll definitely keep looking for this author.

The relationship between Ms. Lane and Mr. Ginetti seemed uncertain and then his nephew appears to make the sequences seem more puzzling and they were not the main puzzle of the story. The plot seemed to keep its normal separate divide. The characters showed whom they trusted and cherished.

This is an exceptional story!

I have not read a story that grabbed me like this one did! I couldn't stop reading this book. Strong characters and a great plot. Lots of adventure, some romance, and enough suspense to keep the pages turning. Well done!

ONE EXTREMELY EXCITING TREAT!!!
Ah Snap! I have to say this is one entertaining treat. Scenes, characters, location and details are so realistic there's no trouble interpreting each scenario as they play out perfectly. So many twists and turns that kept me captivated from start to finish. A multitude of surprises and unexpected glitches and scrapes around every corner kept my total focus on this page turning wonder with its raging storyline and thrilling plot. Emotions, personalities, attitudes and heat with 100% spot on realism. I felt like I was dropped right in the middle of the excitement and wanted to make a stand with the main characters. Yeah, that got me no where. Wrestling the trials and tribulations as we follow the characters while they transform into the roles they were created for. I wasn't sure what I expected from this exciting tale, but true to from, Rimmy rocked it. I feel like I'm the one having the adventure. Rimmy definitely nailed this bad boy down. Awesome job Rimmy, thanks for sharing this baby with us.

Pulled Under is a very exciting start of a suspense series from Rimmy London. Not only was I immediately pulled into this story but I lost a good night's sleep over it! Ella's life got way too suspenseful when she borrowed her boss' car and was nearly killed. Getting no answers from her boss, she turns to Givanni, the boss' nephew. Ella and Givanni have several adventures as the attraction between them grows. With interesting characters and fast paced action, this is one book you do not want to miss. (suggestion: read on a weekend when you have time to do it in one sitting!)

I never could finish the book. I guess the story and writing style just was not for me. I felt confused and did not get attached to the many and fleeting characters apart from the two main one. And even then I could hardly decipher what was really happening, what were they thinking and what was real versus their jobs.

Mafia trouble

I had a hard time connecting with the characters in this book. I felt like they and the plot could have used some more development.
